OlowuJohn: @ Roughdiamond thanks for the reply, from googled info, their next election is October 31, 2020. So relocation plan should be around December 1, 2020. I really appreciate your response, as I await info about the Taxi business. May I know what you would like to know about the Taxi business? Do you plan to drive it yourself or give to someone? I will meet someone into the business this evening to get you information. But cars are really very expensive here (3 - 5mil Cfa) |

OlowuJohn: RoughDiamond, good day, you have a very good reputation here and it is commendable. I have the intention of relocating to Ivory coast, mainly for Taxi business. Kindly assist with your contact so we can discuss or may you help me with location to look out for and pros and cons for this kind of business. I will appreciate your support. Honestly, I don't have much information about taxi business but can inquire for you. Every part of Abidjan is OK but I won't recommend Abobo and some parts of Yopougon because of Microbe activities. (Though, majority of my Igbos brothers live there). Like I always advise, please wait till after their election. Any other question you may have, feel free to quote me |

From the comments so far, I have given up the thoughts of marrying a Nigerian. Imagine someone saying 100k for wedding dress alone. But Nigerians are this rich and they keep disturbing people on social media begging for money? My wedding will not exceed 50k and I state this very clear before any relationship. Las Las, Nigerians should keep their women. They give birth to the same children others give and not Jesus Christ or his younger |

PuZZyNegro: As an nwa afo Igbo, here is my take
1. An Igbo man wants his wife looking good. Reason, an Igbo man will go to the village and pick one mgbeke, in less than one year, you will not recognize the girl again due to excess transformation
2. An Igbo man prefers a housewife. An average igbo man cannot allow his wife to be hawking or doing some dirty jobs that will leave her looking tattered at the end of the day. Reason, he works hard to ensure he is stable enough to provide for his wife and children to be
3. An average igbo man wants to build a house at least, in the village before getting married. The culture of Igbos wanting to travel to the village every Christmas plays a great role here
4. Most Igbo men go to school first before venturing into business. I know most of my secondary school classmates that finished university before going to do business or at least, took Waec.
5. I need to create a separate thread for this and write comprehensive list of why igbos marry late and the cons and pros.
Trust me, I earn decent income now, have had some of my secondary school and university coursemates married, but I am not reasoning marriage any time soon.
I told one girl hoping on me that I will finish my PhD before getting married and she was cursing (currently running my masters). I like how you analyzed your points. When you create the thread, mention me. I will like to learn more |

AkeNathan: True. That is due to strong traditional institutions.
I school in Uyo, akwa ibom.
Man, single mothers who have no plans to marry full everywhere and society doesn't even mock them, divorced coupled everywhere that they actually dominate non-divorced couples.
And i have lived in Uyo for the past 5 years, in different neighbourhoods. Come to ebonyi where i'm from, I lived there for 18 years and knew only one divorced couple. Upon I lived in 3different densed areas. So you mean all these high divorces flying around, Igbos are exempted? Last year, I attended a friend's marriage in Enugu. A month after the marriage, the wife wrote me that she was no longer interested in the marriage. Within my community, I know of not less than 5 who divorced less than a year into the marriage |

Millenniumlady: But igbo marriage last longer Hausa marriages last as well. I found out that most of my brother's secondary school friends in Jos got married before they completed their secondary school education. Some married during their higher institution. They are very happy with their families. I can't tell about the Yorubas because I haven't really stayed with them. But most late marriages are usually found among Igbos |

Vicjustice: You might not like to hear this, but in the view of visa officers, you are a corrupt business owner as your unregistered business is illegal therefore, it is not a legitimate occupation to be used for visa application. Whatarewehere4: Thanks so much rough diamond..How are you today ? so are those the only areas I can get houses with my budget because I would love an environment with less Nigerians ,I lived in South Africa for a couple of years and I know the types of atrocities Nigerians commit outside of their country..
I have read and heard about places like Deux Plateax,Angres ,Asinine etc i would like to live in an highbrow area and honestly I thought my 50k budget will get me a student type of self contain in Abidjan considering the volume of information I have digested online lol ... Will upping my budget to 70k naira per month (100,000 cefas ) get me a student self contain in those places I mentioned above ? , i just want to be in a sane, calm and cool environment that will offer me the sanity I need for my freelance job .. I want to be in a place where everyone minds their business with an ambience suitable for raising a a 5 years old boy that was given birth in the United Kingdom but will relocate with me ,thank you so much ... I think it solely depends on the agent you meet. A friend pays 80k Cfa at Koumassi Ramblais, a customer of mine pays 100k at same Ramblais. An old neighbor pays 90k for a room and parlor. A Nigerian I know pays 70k at Angré. From what you said, I will suggest you stay at Cocody, Riviera 2/ Riviera 3, Deux plateau or Angré. Though I can't tell the cost of rent at those areas. Marcory résidentiel and zone 4 too are very good but highly expensive (in millions). I suggest you land first, find any house to lay your head first, then move around to find the area that best suits you. Rents are paid monthly here, therefore, relocation is also so easy |
