But the bible said it is more easier for the head of a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. U & I know it is not possible for the head of a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, invariably it is not possible for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. Now why would the bible make such a grave statement about the rich?? If u study that part of the scripture very well, the bible generalized it, meaning the bible knows before any man becomes wealthy he must have done something unholy! You mentioned bill gates? U can't even trust yourself let alone another human. Michael Jackson had great talent, but we heard a lot of evil affiliations with him, even with his talent. No man will ever expose his evil deeds, including u! The few little bad things u must have done in secret u will never say it. Riches come with a lot of evil affiliations. Even Christ told the rich man in the bible that wanted to follow him to give his wealth to the poor, riches is not something for true a Christian. That's just the truth!

I rarely post on nairaland but I a have to jump on this as I was brooding over how my life has changed these past few years.
I am currently going through this lonely phase of life and it is taking a toll on me. I used to be very comfortable with being to myself. However, I noticed that as soon as I got a job I started changing, I started seeing the need or getting the push to associate from colleagues. It didn't go too well because it was a hospital job and staff are for most reason always serious minded. I almost went crazy, outwardly I looked cool but when I am alone I yearned for association.
Getting months into the job I went spend crazy, I started buying cars, sport bikes and quads with the belief that I could get the much needed inner joy I needed but all those toys just kept me sane in the job. After much battles with inner self conflict, I bowed out. I stopped working and relocated to a new state. I wanted to see how life would feel with the toys, some savings, a very comfortable apartment and mostly no job �.
I rented a two bedroom apartment, furnished it to taste, got play station, even got me a music studio.
Basically, I had all I could have yearned for in my younger days except friends.
In conclusion, it's been 1 year and six months of living this life and I can bodly say I haven't found happiness. Meeting ladies In my city hasn't helped. They mostly can't understand me or are just about the party, buzz life style. I am more of the adventurous type.

I had to write this long epistle because I know money in not too much amount would not get you happiness. I guess having like minds would help matters but my city isn't a place where you did see people who want to hike, site see, or just explore unknown territories.

I guess u are not in Nigeria?
This one u are resigning job & buying cars & quad bike! Relocating to nice apartment, if u ask me u are already living the good life! You just have to be contented, that's all.

Guess I've met my kinda human �� mine is not different from yours, but I thank God for the kinda compound I stay, there's always light. So I don't joke with subscribing my decoder. Cause it is my best companion. Whenever I get back from work, I on the t.v and switch to music channels I will be singing and dancing along untill I feel sleepy.

You just don't understand, you probably still a baby or so.
It's not about accommodation is about comfort, if you are not ready to choose your wife over your mum you are not ready to grow a family.
But the issue here is always the mum accepting the fact that you head a new home and your new major responsibility is your new home.
It's about you being put in a place of choosing between two people you where suppose to love dearly, to avoid that drama it's better they stay separately.
I am not saying your mum shouldn't come stay with you, I am staying it's not wise her staying permanently with you and your wife.

As I said, that's not always the case. Not every lady will maltreat her man's child. Her concern is that the father is spoiling him too much and that can never turn out well.

Not every lady will maltreat her man's child I agree, there is always an exception, but what is the percentage? Are they up to 5% out of a 100%? It is not even debatable, there is no gainsaying a lot of women maltreat their step children! She may pretend for now, but when she start having her own kids, she will certainly favour her kids more than any other person's child. If u think otherwise, then u are not being honest with yourself! Her father is spoiling the boy is what will prompt the maltreatment! Returning the boy to his mom is best, no woman will take care of another person's child more than her own child! It's nature.

Taking that boy to his mother is the best option, unless u want your son to hate u for life! There is a very thin line between excess love & excess hatred! U have shown that boy too much love u can't sustain with this new lady around. If u care for the future of that boy, return him to his mom & send her money for upkeep. The boy can return when he is a little bit older, but for now return him! He is too young for what u are about to make him go through! If u do otherwise, that boy is going to hate u for life!

You actually need to teach your son to be a bit independent. And quit giving him everything he cries for; it won't help both of you in the long run. If you let him grow up that way, you will be in trouble because he will be annoyingly spoilt.

Of course it will affect your relationship. Even if you were married to his mother and you are overindulging him this way, it would still be a problem. So, your gf might not be bad or have the mind to maltreat him as some people are insinuating.

Just try to balance both. Another option is to allow him stay with his mum if that would be healthier for him.

Women naturally don't like anything that encroach on their space when it comes to relationship & marital issues, reason wives don't agree with mother in laws. That boy is encroaching on that lady's space & she is already developing hatred for the boy & seeing him as a rival.

@Elrafiki2 u are about to make your son experience a very rough growing up. You need to choose between that boy & your girl! Your girl is still pretending because u are yet to wife her, once u marry that lady, she will show your son the other side of her, not to talk of when she start having her own kids, that boy is going to pass through hell. Now u are already contemplating of denying him certain things, this is something u never thought of before now. If u are unable to choose between both my best advice is; return that boy to his mom & send her money for upkeep, even if his mom is married to another man, that won't be an issue because men don't abuse kids, it is a woman thing, she will still be in a better position to take care of that boy as it stands now. The boy can come back when he is of certain age & able to speak for himself.

At this point I honestly do think the concept of marriage is flawed & if I have my way I will end it! Using u as an example, u are suggesting he rent a mini flat for his mum because that is the same thing u would have told your husband to do! Now if that woman was your mother would u have suggested same? My friend's wife mum has been living with them ever since they got married & everything has been peaceful, but I am very sure if reversed was the case, that marriage won't be the way it is now.

If a man is moving out of the house he built himself not on the Condition of work due to location, just because he wants to get married, then definitely that marriage is cursed & such a woman advising her husband of such when that money could be channeled into other useful things can never improve the life of that man.
