LadySarah:Really...Is this necessary? Anyway, it shows that the country is tremendously blessed with talents and that we can achieve a lot and prosper together. |
SLAP44:I am sure your means of livelihood depends on that section of the country you are trying to throw your cheap jab at. |
That is what you get when you put tribalism before sense... this misplaced 'I better pass you mentality' is truncating much needed progress in the country |
Enemyofpeace:Would you be happy if any of your loved ones achieved a notable feat and someone with a deformed sense of reasoning trivialized it by trying to body-shame them? I faint for your case. |
Enyimbamercedes:If you are a FIRST time applicant like the OP, the current requirement is that you must be PRESENT at the Passport issuing office or consulate for biometric data capture...without going into too much details, there is a reason for this. Also, if you are applying for SAME day passport, you will be required to provide biometric data whether you like it or not. |
Enyimbamercedes:Biometric data CANNOT be captured from a passport photograph. Biometric data involves the scanning and capturing of your retina and finger prints. How can you capture those from a passport photograph And without taking our eye off the ball here, I am a British citizen by birth and a frequent flyer to and from Nigeria, so I know what i am talking about. |
Frantom:His Nigerian passport has no bearing when he is traveling to the UK. He only needs his British passport, since he has one. |
nairalanduseles:You are also right. If his parents are residents or citizens, he may be entitled to a British passport...even if he was born after the law changed in 1983. |
If you are travelling to the UK, you only need to present your British passport. However, when/if you are coming back to Nigeria for whatever reason, you will need your Nigerian passport or an entry visa on your British passport. Having said that, it is to my understanding that you can only apply for a British passport from the British consulate in the country where you currently reside. Currently, first time application of a British passport must be PRESENT for biometric data capture etc. How your passport got sent from the UK is a mystery to me but maybe yours is an EXCEPTIONAL case. |
nairalanduseles:It depends on your year of birth. Not all UK born individual are entitled to a British passport. The law changed in 1983. |
rawpadgin:Can't you be happy for people? Why are we like this as Nigerians? |
FuckThaMod:A very stupid statement to make. Must you tribalise everything? Someone is expressing his profound gratitude and you are here spewing nonsense. We're you not there when he was sick? |
iTearHerToto:I bet your whole livelihood and existence is dependent on the generosity of the Afonjas you mentioned. Grow up. |
TANTUMERGO007:I don't see the involvement of Yorubas in this statement but since you mentioned it, the Yorubas are universally known to be very accommodating, even to those they shouldn't. |
slivertongue:I don't understand this question. Living abroad to some could be question of necessity or choice. |
YorubaWarrior:It starts with you and I. We all have a role to play. |
YorubaWarrior:Finger pointing again! When will people like you stop this divisive and tribal mudslinging? It is working against the progressiveness of the country. |
nanauju:Let us all join hands together to condemn the ills pervading our society instead of being another tribalistic slowpoke. |
menvocate:This appears to me as if this is a suggestion for a potential 'contract marriage' and I am not sure if it will hold water in court if there is any breach. For the fact that you are in love with someone today doesn't mean you will still be in love with them or them in love with you tomorrow. If he is loaning her the money for her education and there is a legal contract in place signed by both party in the presence of their individual legal representative and if possible, filed and notorized then that's reasonable and not even guaranteed. However, tying the contract to a matter of heart is not something I think could be legally binding. I am not a lawyer and that's my take. |
In this part of the world, we build houses without taking into consideration sustainable, environmental, social and economic factors. Storm water management, adequate drainage system, well thought out building orientation etc, are some of the basic factors that needs to be uncompromisingly considered. |
Will this kind of charade ever happen in a sane and trully lawful country? I rest my case. |
Skmoda360:Usually, I don't subscribe to anything related to tribalistic or divisive comments or attitude but I think people like you should understand that coexisting peaceful is in the best interest of all. This your 'make them try nonsense' comment is uncalled for, misplaced and shows lack of understanding. |
The thing is that tribalism among Nigerians exist in diaspora. However, I don't think this stupid display of 'class' has anything to do with tribalism. For the fact that you have Visa or EU passport doesn't make you less of a human or superhuman, as the case may be. Usually those that lack class tend to have over-bloated sense of importance. |
Davash222:Not that I am condoning this twerking issue but do these kids have the same opportunities had the ones you are comparing them to? |
Ugosample:I wonder o. These are the kind of people preventing this great Country from progressing. |
ZombiePUNISHER:I am sorry bro but wetin concern Yorubas with this issue. Simply because Mr P is married to a Yoruba woman doesn't mean she has anything to do with it. Besides, Mr P is a grown man. Infringement na infringement. Call a spade a spade and stop this unnecessary tribal vendetta. |
BuhariAdvocate:I want to believe this is a typo error because a right thinking person will not make a statement like this. Before you ask, I am a man. |
The Governor has a record label? Besides, giving money here and there is not development. Good luck to the guy sha. |
Nobodyperson:Must everything be about tribe? |
Most if not all major projects in Nigeria, are carried out by expatriates. Are we saying we do not have highly trained Nigerian Engineers and Construction Managers at home or in diaspora, that could be called upon to participate in these kind of projects ![]() |
See this one. It seems you are enjoying in naija abi? Millions wish they have the opportunity to run and get another passport for their children but here you advocating for Nigerians to stay back and fight with the entrenched forces in Nigeria. I tire for you ooo. It seems you have been denied visa so many times that you are now resigned to fate to have children in naija? No be fight. We are all entitled to our opinions. Besides, issuance or denial of Visa has nothing to do with the current image and perception of Nigeria and Nigerians. I still maintain that we all have a role to play in the overall advancement of the great nation. |
Yes, we know that BUT the question is IS YOUR COUNTRY READY TO RISE UP ![]() You have a valid point but If we are not ready to rise up then we should stop COMPLAINING about the treatment meted to us at home or abroad. We all have to play a part or things will continue the way it is. |
And without taking our eye off the ball here, I am a British citizen by birth and a frequent flyer to and from Nigeria, so I know what i am talking about.
