lhordspy: I dont support violence in any form. BUT I have no sorry to waste, or pity to feel for the worst media organisation in the entire world anchored by partisan, incompetent, sentimental, bias group of !POB apologists masquerading as journalists.
Journalism everywhere in the world is neutral and nonpartisan but these ones are making mockery of it.
They probably went there with the sole motive of cooking up lies and propaganda against NIGERIA, INEC and APC as usual. Reporters of Bad news, Anti-APC news network.
Wetin their eyes wan see, na wetin dem see.
No one, i repeat, No one will run a media base campaign of calumny against Nigeria and deserve my pity. Never. What do you know about Journalism? |

cooooooks: The unaffordability of transport is killing labour mobility within Nigeria, within Port Harcourt.
In my case, I (the company) used to pay half the transport costs of employees.
I think the highest such "bonus" was ~ N7,000. I think that, by putting the cost of transport in cash, people would be incentivized to find a cheaper route, if at all possible.
However, if the movement is stressful or takes too long, the employee will still resign (if they don't move).
Similarly, I also provided (free) accomodation to another staff. He was a great asset and someone I was grooming to become the principal. So, that investment was well worth it imo. No cost for the accomodation.
If we had expanded, while I was there, to ensure capable staff, especially male, I was ready to provide accomodation for all, for free. |

Oyindamolah: Yes, it a spring board to his career path. Working day are Monday to Friday and can use weekend for lectures and if he eventually leave after even 1 year, he would be courted by many companies. I am talking from experience. Mine was not even an ICAN certified firm but ANAN, 6 months and I was far better that my contemporaries.
A year later I tried stoning my CV to 17 companies, 4 were willing to provide standard accommodation, 5 outside Lagos, 8 were willing to give my *4 of my salary current benefits. I didn't leave until after 3 years the next job I got was an oil company with mad benefits but I mater left to start my business.
Any accounting graduate that want to go far start from ANY certified audit firm. Word on Marble. De Knoll Ani and Co., was were I cut my teeth even though salary was poor, I am grateful today that I worked there . |

So I was getting ready for work when a staff of IEDC knocked at my door; as usual, his left hand was filled with loads of paper and he hung his bag like a Jambite. This time he wore no worn-out facecap.
Well, I didn’t exchange pleasantries with him because I know he has not brought any good tidings with him so I waited for the breaking news. Lo and behold, it was another progressive increment in bill from 3200 to 9500, how? We don't even get 5 hours if light
I asked him why the continuous increment and he gave a fake smile and said “I don’t know, write to NEC”. Like who da hell is NEC if that is the right spelling of what you mean?
He was mute and I went on to pick the bill from him and dialed the customer care number on the bill, but it didn’t connect. I chatted them on WhatsApp and the creature behind the keyboard told me to get a prepaid. I reminded the creature that several applications have been made.
Nigeria matter don tire me. How is the bill & light in your area? |

Excerpt from married men here on NLers
Even with strict rules 400k is not even enough for a family of 4 (husband, wife and a boy and a girl ages less than 10yrs but not tolders)
Even as a married man with two kids, 300k doesn't feel like nothing even in this present day Nigeria, unless you don't spend wisely.
It's tough even for family of three let alone four.
With the present day Nigeria, that amount is not even enough because currently there is tomatoes scarcity and tin tomatoes is expensive.
You will struggle with that amount if you are based in the island in Lagos or city center in Abuja, PH or Kano |
