People pay far more for Sky or Virgin etc... Just, feel its wrong to justify not paying it. If you don't want to pay its fine, but don't try to justify or bring up reasons. Its their law. It may not be perfect, but that's what they want. Like paying your short stay parking...not compulsory, but if you get caught out, you cough up a Penalty charge

I know of someone who was avoiding tv licence for years and one day accidently , the youngest toddler opened the door with the remote control in his hands. He quickly ran to the post office that same day to pay the fee for the whole year.

Updated: I called them and discussed the things we honestly watch and the adviser said we do not need to pay so our records have new updated. If things change il let them know. I have plenty other uses for £150 please if you are watching live tv or on demand shows pay oh.

Even iPlayer is not live but you still need a licence.

If you watch Netflix you are still required to get a tv licence. I believe you can be fined £1,000 and even taken to court if you are found out. These days they have advanced equipment to detect if you have been watching tv , through pc, iPad etc. Just save yourself future agro and pay it.

If there is anyone living in East London affected by the low water pressure due to the burst pipe in Stratford. Thames water are giving out free packs of water in the gala bingo car park behind Stratford high street station. If you drive and want to avoid the long queues you can go now . They will be there 24/7 until the water problem is solved.

I heard about this, people complaining about no water to shower, there will be a very long queue by now. That's the difference between a developed country and a third world country. The welfare of the citizens is top priority. The water is cut off for a couple of hours and they start distributing free packs of water.

Nigeria Air is the worst of all the names that have been given our national carrier.

Richard Branson was the one who would have made our national carrier the best in Africa but greedy politicians destroyed it.

I can bet that this airline will not survive the next 5 years. This country is faulty from its core. Anything that has government involvement is bound to fail.

The reason we can never have a successful national carrier is because airline is a business with vast gross revenue but thin net income. The moment politicians and everyone who thinks they own Nigeria start seeing daily flights to London and New York, they believe they ought to get a part of the cake that does not exist and that will be the end.

We are hoping that they have learnt their lessons from all their previous errors . Lets just be optimistic and hope that they will get it right this time.

At the end of the day it all boils down to maintenance and customer service.

Good question..before you rent any house make sure you view it and note any damage and that should be included in your tenancy agreement so that when you are moving out the landlord will not make any crazy damage claim.

Your deposit should be deposited with the govt scheme(TDP) tenancy deposit protection. basically as soon as your landlord deposit the money they will email you and ask you to create an online account and a copy of the deposit certificate will be emailed to you too

And if your Landlord doesn't do this within a certain time frame (I think 3months not sure) you can sue him and get back 2 months rent.
