I pray you improve, but from the testimonies I see on this thread you haven't done much and this client you talked about lets hope you don't disappoint cos most of your clients seem to be crying out that you don't give them updates. I can see that you are trying very hard but its doesn't seem to be yielding much. What you need is to hire professional staff not just your relations from your village.

You work in a bank and you and I know that HP is one of the worst deals, but it is dressed up to look nice. You are better off just getting a cheap loan from the bank or better still pay for the car you can afford. But no " Mr Adeleke did thanksgiving in church with his new 18reg car, next month I must get 68reg at all cost". This is the mentality of most Nigerians they don't even read the documents properly before signing cos of excitement. by the time the find out about the gbese its too late and then they start to struggle, robing peter to pay Paul.

Please always read the small print , if unsure don't sign.

My people, I have gist o.

So I work in a bank. I was always so happy to teach my colleagues how to pronounce Nigerian names, or just point out that a customer they are working on is of Nigerian descent.

I just got moved to another department and Lord knows that shame have finish me! I’m now in collections- debt management, where you work on people that owe money to the bank or defaulted on loan/credit card payments.

Is it safe for me to safe that every 3 in 10 cases I work on is a Nigerian? Like why? Why borrow money if you won’t return it. By the time I got to the 8th Nigerian defaulter, I was so disgusted!

Nigerians in the UK are lucky to have credit card schemes and affordable loans. It’s OK to finance things you can/can’t afford straight up. But NO, it’s not ok to borrow money and not pay back. Haba. 3 in 10 cases of default payments being Nigerian? I’m so ashamed.

Like when I hear colleagues struggling to pronounce Nigerian names, I mind my business o- let them think the person is from another African country, not my own country!

join your private neighbourhood street/ nextdoor forum and you normally get direct adverts from the landlords. That way you wouldn't pay any charges.

I thought it was but realised later on that it wasn't...It's called juvenile, especially when you friends were all going to enrol in the same department.

Like I said, it's not forcing, you can guide your child in the right direction. Don't allow them to learn the hard way or make the same mistake some of us made.

Ronaldo and co became footballers today because their parents started taking them to football practice at early age. You guide them in the right direction and watch them grow up loving it.
There is a big difference between guide and force. I'm in support of guiding that's one of the roles of a parent but I'm not in support of forcing.
EducationRe: My Kids Must Study Only These Courses In The University by Rubyventures: 10:09am On Aug 22, 2018

It's not forcing, it's guiding. They will thank you when grow up. I insisted on studying Biochemistry, came out with GP 4.2, but to be honest I regret wasting my four years. I asked my parents why they allowed me study that course, my mum said I insisted.

I had to go back to school and enrolled in my desired course.
So when you studied Biochemistry it was not your desired course? Why didn't you study your desired course in the first place? This topic is about parents forcing their desires on their children who have other desires.

Education in the real sense of it is not a scam. What I would call scam is packing certificates up and down, which is what Nigerians do.

Just the other say, my friend said he was through with his masters, and proceeding to do PhD. What is he packing all the certificates for?

Mind you, this my guy doesn't have any bankable skills or practical skill that corporate employers are seeking. So, how is his certificate going to get him a job?

Now, if you look through his CV, you see him mentioning great communication skill, good interpersonal relationship and team playing as his skills.

Are those "real" skills?

Nigerians should start embracing proper education and not packing certificates up and down.
I agree with you. The only skill that Nigerians are good at is Certificate collection.

Then when they travel out and see someone with NVQ but a lot of experience being made their boss if they are lucky they start to complain of racism. The so called expatriates that are hired in big companies in Nigeria , most of them don't even hold a degree. They just happen to be experienced at doing the job.
EducationRe: My Kids Must Study Only These Courses In The University by Rubyventures: 9:33am On Aug 22, 2018
Typical African parents huh huh huh

If you liked the course so much why didn't you study it yourself. Parents should stop trying to live their lives through their kids.
And if your kid has other interests, what would you do ? kill them disown them.

There is nothing wrong in encouraging your kid to study a course if the kid has got the interest but forcing them. I've seen Kids that are petrified at the sight of blood being forced to study medicine and they end up unhappy falling by the way side.

If my kid is interested in studying Agric , I will be very happy and encourage him or her.

No one will give you a job when your pregnancy is clearly showing, except they are desperate.

Where does America stand globally? According to the World Health Organization, the following countries have the highest rates of obesity.

1. Republic of Nauru

Formerly known as Pleasant Island, this tiny island country in the South Pacific only has a population of 9,300. The country has the highest rate of obesity in the world with 78.5 percent of the population categorized as such. Unsurprisingly, they also have the highest levels of type-2 diabetes in the world.

2. American Samoa

Another South Pacific island, Samoa is an unincorporated territory of the U.S. With a population of 55,519, according to the latest U.S. census, 74.6 percent of its citizens are obese.

3. Tokelau

Yet another South Pacific Island, Tokelau is a New Zealand territory with less than 2,000 inhabitants. It's the fourth least populace country in the world, but 63.4 percent of the population is obese.

4. Tonga

Fourth on our list is yet another island in the southern Pacific Ocean. Tonga is a sovereign state in Polynesia that gained its independence from the British in 1970. They are the largest nation by population so far on the list with over 103,000, over half of which are obese-56 percent.

5. French Polynesia

Seventeen hundred miles away from Tonga is French Polynesia, comprising of around 130 islands, including Tahiti. French Polynesia is an overseas country of France, but the president of French Polynesia maintains position as head of government. They have a population of 268,000 and an obesity rate of 40.9 percent.

6. Republic of Kiribati

Number six on the list is another island nation, though this one is in the central Pacific Ocean and straddles the equator. With a population of 103,500, Kiribati has an obesity rate of 50.6 percent.

7. Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia is the first country on the list that is not an island. The world's largest oil exporter has a population of just under 30 million. Their obesity rate is 35.6 percent, meaning over 10 million Saudis are obese.

8. Panama

This Central American nation is home to 3.6 million, a world-famous canal and an obesity rate of 34.7 percent.

9. United States of America

Coming in at ninth place, America has an obesity rate of 33.9 percent, according to the WHO. The rate has been steady since 2005, but has grown exponentially since the late '90s, when the rate fluctuated between 16 and 20 percent. With a population of 313 million, the 33.9 percent rate translates into over 106 million obese Americans.

10. United Arab Emirates

Rounding out the top 10, the United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven emirates including Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The country has a population of five and half million and an obesity rate of 33.7 percent.

I think it is selfish to want the health care system in US to be introduced here, its seems that for some people as long as they and their families can afford something the rest people can go to hell.

What about those people who cannot afford it? those that were born with ailments and will never get insurance? Healthcare for all is the best way to go not just for a few.

I remember a few years back, when I was on holiday in the states and my kid fell and hurt himself, we called an ambulance and were told that if they had to take us to the hospital it will cost $500 and it would be better to drive down ourselves which we did. The hospital service we received was superb. There wasn't any body waiting, we were seen by the doctor immediately , we had 3 nurses and a doctor attending to us. before this I had to pay $3,000 on my Credit card. ( this I later claimed back from my travel insurance). After getting back to the UK there was a further bill of about $700, my insurance took care of this. Just for a few stitches on a wound. Even the hotel had the cheek to charge for the 911 call?

There are Americans who come to the UK for treatment, the system in America ignores the vulnerable and the poor and that's not right.

In my opinion the NHS is one of the best health care systems in the world.

I think it should be made compulsory no to put gas cylinders in the house, for safety reasons. landlords should include gas connection points on all buildings before thy can let it out to tenants. This little adjustment will save lives.

I honestly don't understand why people become so judgemental when rules are rules...personally, i think its a matter of integrity and having a moral high-ground and setting a good example for the junior ones. After getting away with tv tax....one might be tempted to do the same for other taxes
You've said it all. The govt needs taxes for the smooth running of the economy. That's why nothing works in Nigeria while the govt is busy looting the economy, the citizens are no better, they want to bribe the electric engineer for free light, the driver doesn't want to update his vehicle documents but prefers to bribe his way through. at the end of the day there is nothing like a free lunch you have got to pay for it one way or another.
