2smooth2shout: but information reaching me is that the offensive is delayed because the troops(including yours) are not yet ready.Yes post that information that is reaching you. Since you know so much, we would also like to know. Information reaching you from who? And post the source that says we are training inside of DRC please. Thanks. |
2smooth2shout: please when is SANDF going to grow some balls and engage rebels in DRC? there's serious conflict going on and they are still training. Is the SANDF there as a stand alone entity or part of a U.N mission? Please stop asking st*pid questions. What's the point of going to DRC as a coalition of 3 countries if you decide to attack rebels whenever you feel like it? The commander in charge of the intervention brigade will give orders when to move into M23 positions, not the SANDF. And where do you read they are training in DRC? I would like to read that source too please. |
agaugust: well @THIZA, sorry i have to dissappoint you again, about 90% of DENEL manufactured weapons are light weapons and those cannot win you a war against powerful countries like Egypt, Nigeria, Algeria, Ethiopia, and Morooco. Can you please tell us what percentage of the Badger IFV is produced in SA? How many of the systems being used on the South African badger are designed and built in SA? Patria is just a chassis. And how many of them will be imported? Only 16 out of 264. |
GidiNaijaPikin: From available Literacy rates:I don't usually get into non military debates....but this has to be one of the most st*pid things you've ever said. One of the most st*pid things ever said on this forum. Do a reverse analysis. Number of non literate Nigerians = 67 000 000 Number of non literate South Africans = 6 800 000 Nigeria therefor has almost 10 times more illiterates than SA. Do you see how useless your so called analysis was? ![]() |

http://www.defenceweb.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=31287:seeker-400-to-fly-in-october--denel&catid=35:Aerospace&Itemid=107 https://www.uasvision.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Denel_seeker_400.2.jpg Denel Dynamics’ Seeker 400 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) will fly in October this year, but possibly earlier, the company has confirmed. Jan Wessels, Denel Group Chief Operations Officer, told defenceWeb that ground testing is currently underway and that the first flight is officially planned for October this year, but may occur sooner. It was originally scheduled for last year, but was delayed due to contracting and certification issues. Denel’s annual report for the 2012/13 financial year also identifies “complexities with the key subsystems” as another reason for “significant variation in the programme schedule, including a delay of the maiden flight test.” Nevertheless, Denel said that “significant progress” has been made in the Seeker 400 development programme over the last year and that all hardware manufacturing is completed with system integration underway. In its annual report, Denel said the projects attached to the development of the Seeker 400 accounted for revenue of R89 million during the last financial year, with investment of R60 million in the Seeker 400. The Seeker 400 was displayed in mock-up form at the 2010 Africa Aerospace and Defence exhibition. It has an endurance of 16 hours and can be armed with two Mokopa air-to-surface missiles, with a 10 km range. It is able to carry two payloads at the same time, including electro-optical/infrared and radar as well as laser rangefinder and illuminator for target designation. Denel says an electronic surveillance payload is available for the detection and location of radar emitters. Future upgrades will include satellite communications, and sense-and-avoid capability in order to obtain civil aviation certification. Currently, the Seeker 400 has a range of 250 km, because it uses only line-of-sight communications, but it could be upgraded to use satellite communications, which would allow it to operate at much greater ranges. With the use of the existing tactical ground station (TGS), the range may be extended to 750 km. Denel Dynamics is executing a production contract for the UAV’s launch customer (which previously operated the Seeker I) and has also attracted strong interest from other potential clients, with most demand expected to come from the Middle East, Southeast Asia and South America. Denel is promoting the Seeker 400 to Seeker II customers, as the new UAV can be flown with Seeker II control stations. Hopefully the SANDF will order a few of these systems now that UAV's are being used more and more. ![]() |
agaugust: ask liberian/sierra leonean rebels, congo DRC rebels and dafur supporter of APC local militia what they usually do to any 'civilian' woman trapped and captured in their battle zone...dont ask me o ! i am under age 18 yearsYes answer your own question. Why did they let that soldier go after he helped butcher 100's of Seleka? Seleka regarded South African troops as mercenaries, meaning they had no issue killing us. They let him go because that was OUR condition of the ceasefire THEY came to us with. If there was no ceasefire each and every South African would eventually have been killed. But the Seleka commander knew he would have lost too many men in the process. |
Msauza: There were any SA soldiers captured in CAR, those were just attempts by Seleka rebels to score cheap points by painting lies. Whether saengine admitted to it or not it is still liesThere was one soldier captured. He was returned back to the base after the cease fire. |
souldust: for those saying the robots are the same, why dont you take note of the tyres and see that the colours are differentIs this person being serious? MY GOODNESS |
agaugust: sorry for the mix up of names, the story from south africa narrated both women's actions at random and mixed it up. i have corrected the names in my post. no big deal, as that does not change the fact and validity of the true story.Susette Gates is a civilian. Civilians working for the SANDF do not wear uniform. If she was able to convince Seleka not to search her bag carrying R3 million (a lifetime fortune in CAR).....what other lies do you think she told them to let her go? She could have said anything......claimed to be U.S citizen etc etc. Point is, in the eyes of Seleka she was not a captured combatant. The one SA soldier who was captured by Seleka was returned to our base. |
agaugust: .Please post pictures of the Nigerian built bomb robot, not a robot from the USA .https://farm7.staticflickr.com/6216/6258093630_2aa6aed9c3_z.jpg https://farm7.staticflickr.com/6221/6258102006_756a37556c_z.jpg |
agaugust: .Nice try at an amateur editing job. Maybe your boyfriend Patriot will believe you .Corporal Molatelo Aphinia Nkoana was not confronted by rebels. Corporal Molatelo Aphinia Nkoana led a team of 16 SANDF soldiers to safety after an ambush. Susette Gates is a civilian who works within the SANDF. She is the one who returned to the base during some of the fighting to retrieve R3 million that was being held at the base. She is the one who convinced the rebels that the money was infact clothes. 2 different stories but you edit it to make it seem like one. What's worse is that you put it in bold. |
NaijaPikinGidi: Did this burger just wake from his lazy slumber?Google is your friend. Go find out who occupied Bangui airport before and after the fight. You jumped on a mini conspiracy theory that only makes sense in your own head. Slow down.....think before you type |
chris365: LIAR.. nobody recognized seleka but FOMAC. and it was two more than a week before they did. before then you had all the opportunities to attack and show that power you claim to have. but you failed.Just to understand you.....you wanted us to go back into Bangui to do what exactly? Just to prove we could do it? Kilk Seleka rebels and leave, or occupy CAR and turn it into a 10th SA province? Not even the mighty U.S gets into a fight just for pure revenge. By the time assets were ready to deploy into CAR no SA troops were in danger or underfire. This was not a war, it was a 48hour firefight. Jets, helicopters and troops were situated nearby had central african leaders of surrouding states pushed for Seleka to be forcefully removed. Instead Seleka was given 18months to form a government. Congrats on Nigeria being deployed to all those areas. But come speak to us when you deploy as far afield as DRC, Sudan and CAR from SA all at the same time. Assets are overstretched. Add to that piracy patrols in Mozambique in which air force helicopters and jets are used, plus border operations which the airforce and army are heavily involved in. Supply lines run dry quick, as you found out in Mali. |
NaijaPikinGidi: Now which Airport have these lying South Africans been accusing France of occupying and refusing SA to retreat to or use? Now it is getting clearer to all that SANDF and their civiilian citizens will tell as many lies to cover their disgrace in the hands of Seleka!!Yet to arrive? lol ok then |
patriot4: I believe, you have access to google.Maybe you didnt understand me....which is understandable. I said quote how many members of the CAR army were killed defending their country from a rebel coup. You said they fought side by side with us. I said they evaporated leaving us outnumbered. The CAR army was manning the main/only bridge into Bangui, which Seleka used to enter the city. How many of them were killed there? Not one. And you still think they put up any resitance? Ok then. |
patriot4: Not true, the CAR army fought alongside your own army.Quote a source showing how many of them were killed. |
chris365: my friend sharap abeg. your generals first showed their incompetence when they sent 200 men to CAR without air support or heavy weapons. knowing fully well they will engage the rebels cos they were deployed to CAR when the conflict got worse, and their mandate was to protect the zuma's family business and Bozize. so the mission failed.Look at the timeline of when troops were sent to CAR. There is a parliamentary reply stating such. Fight was over by the time jets and helicopters arrived. Those assets were on the sideline if the order was given to re-take Bangui. African Union decided to give Seleka 18 months to form a new government, so we packed up and left. SANDF would be too overstreched having heavy equipment and personel in DRC, CAR, Sudan and operations back home. The whole point of CAR was that there was a much larger CAR army to fight alongside SA troops if trouble started. That CAR army evaporated when Seleka started shooting. |
sambos994: Why did the rebels take control of Bangui?Because 200 soldiers will never hold any city, even Bangui for a protracted amount of time. Defending yourselves and going on an offensive are two different matters. Bangui was not an offensive operation from the start. Troops were in place for an offensive two days later (jets in Zambia, helicopters and troops in DRC). Is there any info as to how many CAR soldiers were killed in that coup by Seleka rebels? How could a country's army suffer similar if not less casulaties than 200 foreign troops? Because they evaporates when Seleka arrived, leaving our troops heaavily outnumbered. |
NaijaPikinGidi: If you don't know what job you went to CAR to do and for which you were chased away by the rag-tag Seleka selection, then you are as dull as your SANDF."If you dont know what job"........ *falls asleep reading your attention seeking garbage* I'll wait for the person i asked to answer thanks. |
sambos994: Yet you couldn't finish the job...Define finishing the job. |
agaugust: go do more useless rocketry research my boy. i have improved your thinking faculty on this forum, say thank you...ingrate !Thats wat ur small mind thinks. I'll reply to you dont worry |
agaugust: algeria spends more dollars on new weapons than south africa, algerian army and air force is 10 times better, the algerians will wipe off south africa from the map of africa. When did i say SA is better than Nigeria? Same way as if Algeria will destroy Nigeria. I'll reply to your rocket nonsense tomorrow....im studying. |
... |
Mike..ZA:Dont understand your question |
Based on the SANDF Defence Review, it looks as if South Africa is going to spend up to R100billion on arms. Everything from new main battle tanks, surface to air missiles for the army and new support vessels for the Navy. The new Badger IFV programme costing R8billion has pretty much been signed with production set to start in a few months. |
agaugust: No, you just embarrassed yourself and misfired as usualIs this honestly your big reply? Is this the reply you've been blocked for twice? I cant believe this rubbish. More reason for me visiting this forum less and less. You said no government would ever let people launch rockets that high. You said they would be thrown in jail in America and Europe. You said people in those countries are allowed to even own small RPG type rockets. You said those rockets can only be built by large government institutions or private companies with millions and millions in their budget. I then posted 4/5 stories of amatuer people (not part of government institutions or big private space companies such as SpaceX) launching rockets. And instead of just admitting you were wrong you quote ONE of the stories i posted and try and argue a useless point. I truelly am tired of these rubbish posts. Of course you must be part of a rocketry club in order to launch homeade rockets, so that the FAA gives you clearance. That is obvious. Even South Africa has a rocketry club http://www.rocketry.co.za/saasa/launch_days.htm. Which rocket only went 1km? I posted 4 stories. With 1 homebuilt rocket flying to the edge of space and even taking video/pictures. People around the world who build rockets for fun on the weekend still build better rockets than Nigerian PhD and Masters who come to work everyday and get paid for it. Lol....shame you think your scientists are anywhere near putting a space craft on your rockets? Shame. I'll log on again in 2050 to see it. Nigerians dont seem to understand technical difficulties involved in building certain systems. Didnt a minister of yours say a Nigerian will be sent to space by 2015? On which immaginary rocket? Or he'll ask the Russians for a lift? |
agaugust: No, I am not embarrassed at all, you really messed up with the above post, Nevada is in America and I live in America...your interpretation of that rocket launch is very wrong. I will write you along post to teach you how American society operates. I am at work now I will come and show you your error after I get home from work....you really fumbledI posted 4 links about amateur rocket launches. So when you come back you'll tell me how i messed up in ALL of them. Not just one. Otherwise you have been embarrased. And when you come back also make a public shameful apology for stating Egypt still produces Swingfire missiles. |
agaugust: are you lost in south african village ? that is NOT an amateur rocket launch photo, a 50 feet long rocket ? show us the story behind that photo it with proof. no country will allow that kind of rocket launch by an amateur, he will get arrested and sent to jail !http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/space/rockets/4315103 https://www.popularmechanics.com/cm/popularmechanics/images/AW/model-rocketblast_300x300_0409-md.jpg Rocket Record: The Largest, Heaviest Amateur Rocket Ever Launched Rocket Record: The Largest, Heaviest Amateur Rocket Ever Launched - Popular Mechanics Steve Eves broke two world records Saturday, when his 1/10th scale model of the historic rocket—built in his garage near Akron, Ohio—lifted off from a field on Maryland's Eastern Shore. The 36-ft.-tall rocket was the largest amateur rocket ever launched and recovered successfully—and at 1648 pounds, also the heaviest. Eves' single-stage behemoth was powered by nine motors—eight 13,000 Newton-second N-Class motors and a 77,000 Newton-second P-Class motor. (Five Newton-seconds is equivalent to about a pound of thrust.) All told, the array generated enough force to chuck a Volkswagen more than a half-mile—and sent the Saturn V more than 4440 feet straight up. It was arguably the most audacious display of raw power ever generated by an amateur rocket. Have you been sufficiently embarrassed? |
agaugust: are you lost in south african village ? that is NOT an amateur rocket launch photo, a 50 feet long rocket ? show us the story behind that photo it with proof. no country will allow that kind of rocket launch by an amateur, he will get arrested and sent to jail !http://www.kiwispace.org.nz/display/PORTAL/Amateur+Rocketry+in+New+Zealand AMATEUR ROCKETRY IN NEW ZEALAND We are not talking here of the fireworks you light a fuse to on Guy Fawkes night and send into an enemy neighbour's yard. Amateur rockets have fins for guidance and a parachute for recovery at their most basic level. Their fuel is generally a composite material very similar to what is used in the solid fuel boosters of the Space Shuttle. As the rockets become larger in size and more sophisticated, then altimeters, on-board computers, GPS devices and multiple stages become part of the space adventure. The New Zealand Rocketry Association (NZRA) is a group of people, both male and female who are interested in model rocketry, who build model rockets, and launch them into the atomosphere. Ages can range from 6 to 106 and the NZRA is open to everyone who wishes to join us in reaching for the skies. The NZRA has been in existence in various forms since 1991 and is now having a resurgence in membership. Model rocketry opens up many avenues for learning, and the great thing is, just like astronomy, the learning never stops. There is always more to explore and if you keep at it, you can become a true rocket scientist. Much of the learning is about science. There are all manner of rocket motors and rocket sizes: fat ones - thin ones, designs built for speed and altitude and some having 2 or even 3 stages. You learn what slows a rocket down and what makes it sleek and efficient. You learn how to measure the altitude that your rocket reaches and in some instances learn how to communicate with your rocket via the GPS satellite network. You can even mount a camera on your rocket and watch the Earth recede as the rocket reaches for the sky. Above all, you learn how much fun all this learning can be! |
