agaugust: tiny 43 units of G6 artillery will not save a south africa with huge land mass of about 1.3 million sq km, does your brain work mathematics. And 660 guns in 1.3 millions square kms? Minus the fact that 330 of those guns have 11km range which we dont even need howitzers to engage, just long range mortars. Then on the other hand If a country was to invade Nigeria will 660 guns (actually 330) save Nigeria's 920 000 square km land mass? |
agaugust: UAV is UAV as long as it does the job required. your own is not the only UAV that works in the whole world.Yes dont reply. Your own Nigerian UAV doesnt do any job at all. |
Thiza: South AFRICAN MISSILE DELIVERY VEHICLEDont post the same thing over and over. Rather just post if its in reply to something. |
agaugust: I know that Nigeria makes a UAV, but the UAV you make is still very primitive, thats why i didnt even mention it. Show me one single pic of Nigerians UAV with an electro optical payload....or any other payload. So before Nigerian had satellites you were also blind bats? UAV's and special operations troops are enough to deal with Nigeria. |
Donian007: And our own UAVs and SPECIAL FORCES will be snoring in bed?Your UAV's which Israel ripped you off on might be able to see us, but what will your artillery do about it? Exactly. ... |
agaugust: nigeria can invade south africa, i did not say defeat you in that invasion, but enter your country and fight you on your homeland soil, and pray we dont ship 100,000 AK-47 rifles and grenades to the 250,000 nigerians who live in your country. Now it all makes sense. When someone even has the idea of shipping weapons to Nigerians living in SA its easy to understand their simple thought patterns. Ship AK's through where? Which port? Distribute them how? Haha. So you'll invade us but admit you wont dedeat us on home soil? The point of invasion would be what then? To come find a nice spot to roast your troops? If you count your 11km artillery (Which makes a huge percentage of your guns) as superior then i wont judge you, i'll just laugh in silence. Yes lets stop this boring topic. |
agaugust:Maybe in your wildest dreams do you think the Nigerian army will be able to pull off what you just described. You think South African defenses will be nicely stacked in a soccer field for you to encircle. You think your 4 fronts will have nice steady supplies and firepower? By your own admission half of your guns are in 11km range. Simple long range mortars can deal with that. Reduced numbers of G5 to deal with the rest and G6 for leftovers. Not to mention you will be driving into Ratel anti armour IFV armed with Ingwe, and Special Forces with anti tank weapons etc etc. You wont make it very far. And if you think Nigeria can bring all its heavy and most modern equipment down South in one supply line, again you are being delusional. Nigerian cannot attack SA, simple as that. |
drag_on: @saengine Not likely.your submariners are being frequently poached by other countries. But still facts are they dived a sub to the sea-bed and cant properly connect a subs batteries.Batteries were replaced for free by the manufacturer, what does that tell you? Read what Andrew wrote about those incidents. Also ask the British, Canadians, Russians etc etc if they have ever had sub accidents. |
drag_on: @saengine thats a different accident by your incompetent submariners, read the link i gave youSame sailors that sank a NATO fleet in an exercise? Same sailors that sank an Argentine fleet in an exercise? Okay then |
drag_on: last time i heard about your subs they were in dry dock, esp after the accident of your last sub by incompetent sailors... |
agaugust: after nigerian artillery roasts the south africa army, the few of them that remain will be use for our shooting practice.Maybe in your dreams. Please don't waste our time talking about your largely useless artillery, some of which only have 11km range. Then you say you'll drive forward to close the gap, good luck with that. You will need to stop and setup to fire, by the time your commander is ready to fire his whole unit has been turned into roast chicken. Our UAV's and Special Forces will know where your artillery units are. That's one area in which SA Special Forces became famous, calling in artillery fire from many kilometres away. You ask why the U.S has 30km range systems? Rather ask why the U.S with all its technology was testing our G7 gun 5 or so years ago, because they know its superior. The only thing that has stopped SA from selling these guns is politics, just like the Rooivalk. India was going to buy 100's of G6 guns a few years ago, until Indian politicians got in the way. Same thing happened in Turkey. Point is, if Nigeria had a 75km range gun you wouldn't stop talking about it. Now that you don't have it, you pretend like you dont want it. |
GidiNaijaPikin: Out range us ... firing from your nothern-most borders with Namibia or "floating" it from a ship and firing from the middle of the Atlantic? You must be kidding yourself by out-ranging and outraging yourselves for nothing. Facts are stubborn and have been provided several times against your claims. This thread is actually a military and war archive for war planners to study and learn from.I don't think you know what you're talking about. If Nigeria and SA were ever to go to war, whether you come via land to SA or we come via land to Nigeria, artillery systems will be used. And there is currently nothing Nigeria has with that range. Our shells can land 75km from where we fire them, yours cannot. If you have any artillery in that range, you can gladly post it. Our 105mm and 155mm guns out-class yours, simple. |
GidiNaijaPikin: If you find this an open ended question, kindly take back the open-ended image you posted. They can be firing at each other on the moon for all I care, point is we out-range you. Picture was connected to agaugust saying Nigeria's artillery will roast SA's. |
NaijaPikinGidi: Nice one SAEngine. But from where will you be firing from?Rather ask what you want to ask, instead of open ended questions. |
Safe to say South Africa's G6-52L gun will out-range anything Nigeria has. In 2006 it set a world record of 75km for a self-propelled artillery system. |
Henry120: Nigerian MI-17's are operational and in service. One in darfur, another in liberia, the last is in nigeria. You might have been changing oil and stuff like that, but not heavy maintenance. This is the 1st facility of its kind in Africa. http://m.indrus.in/news/2013/06/17/russia_south_africa_sign_contract_for_servicing_russian_helicopters_26195.html “Regrettably, no efficient system for servicing our helicopters ha s existed there for years. This centre will give a fresh impetus to do away with maintenance problems for our helicopters,” he noted. |
Henry120: No, thank you. First up-grade your 11 rooivalk helicopters so that they can at-least shoot at something. Besides all our MI-35p's and MI-24B hind's are all up-graded.And South Africa is probably going to do heavy maintenance and overhauls on Nigeria's Mi-17's assuming they're still flying .http://m.engineeringnews.co.za/article/denel-aviation-launches-new-maintenance-centre-for-russian-helicopters-2013-03-27 “This facility will be the only one of its kind in Africa,” highlighted Denel group CEO Riaz Saloojee. “I am confident that it will become a centre of excellence. |
Henry120: Defence magazines of the nigerian military are not in electronic form.In 2013? Okay |
agaugust: you know why i always pity your good mother ? she gave birth to a .....Yes you are right. NAF has made some very foolish decisions. Paying $15 million for jets that will only be used as a stop gap measure. That much money for jets that won't be around for long, very foolish I agree. Then you try justify the purchase by saying Nigeria will use F-7s to learn how to build your own jets, when you could have used much cheaper jets to do the same thing. Why are Nigerian engineers scared to buy and open up JF-17 if you claim they are the same price? You bought outdated crap, just get over it. Even the authour of beeglesblog (who you love so much) says Nigeria could have got much better value for money. |
agaugust: only china's manufacturer chengdu can say exactly when production stopped because we both quote different sources with different dates. so no winner no loser. It's upgraded, slightly different systems. Therefore its classified differently. It can still be classified as a new system, which doesnt change the fact that its a piece of rubbish which was not initially produced in 2008 like you claimed. It's 2nd hand crap, which has been my point all along. I'm not wasting your time, I'm not forcing you to reply. |
andrewza: Despite the termination of production in 2008, the J-7 is currently in operation with a number of air forces worldwide.Watch him ignore this point. Nigeria was getting its F-7's produced in a closed factory :-) |
agaugust: the links shows no south african made engines, its still an europe made thing. i read the link. nigeria navy NNS ANDONI sails fine on the sea, south african Carver jet never went beyond paper drawing board design. So a company with physical manufacturing facilities in Johannesburg, that produces engines....and you still say your brain works fine? Rooivalk also flies nicely too. Your point was that without French engines Rooivalk cannot fly, which is false. Just pointed out to you that without foreign engines your warship wont sail. Then when you see you've lost the argument you change the topic....haha. You don't have a clue about Carver programme, so I won't even waste my time. F-7 production of all types stopped in 2008. You claim Nigeria was having its jets produced when the factory no longer existed. Just post a simple link showing the Chinese starting PRODUCTION of the Nigerian jet. Produce and procure are two different things. You bought 2nd hand, upgraded jets. |
Hezron Lorraine: NNS Armanda(something something, don't remember the full name) coming soon b4 end of 2015.its gonna be one of Nigeria's biggest warship.Hahaha.....so you're getting an aircraft carrier? Lol |
agaugust: any problem with foreign help ? south african Rooivalk helicopter gunship engine is made in France, and without it your helicopter is a mere box of metals that cannot fly one inch above the ground. And I have told you over and over and over again that Rooivalk engines can be replaced by engines produced in SA if need be. I even gave you a link of the South African company that produces helicopter engines. It seems as if your brain just digests some information without comprehension. Just like your Nigerian built so called warship cannot sail an inch without foreign help, since it uses foreign engines and electronics. |
agaugust: honestly i am surprised that new DENEL Hungwe drone looks like this Nigerian made Amebo 3 drone design. why ?Those drones look nothing alike. From wing profile to fuselage shape. And its clear seeing which one is better engineered. Unless you're gona say they look alike because they both have two wings, two booms, and a twin tail....which hundreds of UAV's have. |
agaugust: you dont know reality of war, so 50,000 men will defend huge south african land size 1.2 million sq km, you are a comedian. liberia, tiny liberia alone nigeria used about 10,000 soldiers. And your attacking Nigerian army will spread itself out evenly over 1.2 million square kilometres? Your own logistics will kill you before we even have to fire a single shot. Nigeria cannot attack SA, not today, not in 2014, not ever. |
patriot4: Wait, let us see:SA. South Africa. Nigeria can invade South Africa? Lol ok then. |
patriot4: Well Nigeria: 175 million people. Almost inexistant obesity. More than 60% of the population is at military age, Nigeria is the biggest market in Africa and Nigeria is the biggest attraction for foreign investment.Nigeria can invade SA? Lol....ok then |
What an embarrassing shamble of a thread. |
Fynline: I take it it was a mistake but this is the Aero Star UAV we bought from IsraelI thought so. But didn't want to start another war. Left it up to someone else to notice. ![]() |
Nice pics of SA Frigates 1 Frigate can have 32 Umkhonto Missiles in the fire silos. 8 targets can be engaged simultaneously. Umkhonto was the world's first IR-SAM missile to be fired from vertical silos, helping to reduce the radar cross section of the ship. https://www.digitaljournal.com/img/7/4/6/4/4/7/i/5/3/8/p-large/Navy_article008.jpg https://www.defenceweb.co.za/images/stories/SEA/SEA_NEW/umkhonto5_400x300.jpg And for anti-ship warfare there are Exocet missiles. https://www.digitaljournal.com/img/7/4/6/4/4/7/i/5/3/8/p-large/Navy_article006.jpg SAS Amatola firing Exocet in excercise https://www.militaryimages.net/photopost/data/500/Exocet_leaving_launcher_SAS_Amatola.jpg |
