patriot4: And you think Nigeria wouldn't produce the weapons under license !Nigerian Swingfire produced "under license" Anti Tank weapon https://cache1.asset-cache.net/gc/2434007-palestinian-boys-throw-stones-at-an-israeli-gettyimages.jpg?v=1&c=IWSAsset&k=2&d=OCUJ5gVf7YdJQI2Xhkc2QBOJ4p%2BM5bV7rhKcqR2qljecgUpPFmd%2BoxYVHxLQAiEFg9FA5HkISNuX3O9UBSRMDg%3D%3D |
patriot4: And you think Nigeria wouldn't produce the weapons under license !LMAAAAOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]() Wow you just made my day. |
patriot4: As I stated, Nigeria does fire missiles in training. That makes you completely out of topic. And my point is which missiles are you firing in training if production stopped in 1993? Or is DICON producing Swingfire missiles for Nigeria? . So tell your friend to edit his statement about Swingfire deleting all SA tanks from the surface of the earth. |
patriot4: He posted that photo because Nigeria has that weapon. Moreover, the US haven't fired its nuclear missiles since 1945, so shall we assume the US is also incompetent in using them ?[img]http://img1.nairaland.com/attachments/1203334_NA_SWINGFIRE_IN_BUSH_jpg451bed0cb2f73c9fbb1e265e3f3d0b36[/img] Nigeria does not have this. This is a Javelin anti tank, not a Swingfire anti tank. Exactly, you had to jump to nuclear weapons because you couldn't think of any other defence system that doesn't require regular training to keep soldiers competent. Go read about how nuclear weapons work and what compromises the system, then get back to us. |
agaugust: swingfire anti-tank guided missile of nigerian army is the most deadly in africa....Own Goal . Why put a picture of the Javelin anti-tank missile? Delete that picture you fraud, it has nothing to do with Nigeria. https://www.militaryfactory.com/smallarms/imgs/fgm148-javelin_4.jpg And which Swingfire missiles are you going to fire at us if YOUR link states production ended in 1993. How do you train your troops to use it? You fire 1 missile a year for the past 20 years? You must choose.....either you have no missiles to fight us, or you have missiles but troops who are completely useless at using them. And don't talk about Britain and other users, they obviously bought more missiles than Nigeria. Add to that the new series of IFV's are slated to be fitted with the Mongoose hard kill protection system. One of the best systems around. Your 1 lonely soldier that knows how to use your remaining Swingfire will look in shock as his missile is blown to pieces from his hiding spot. https://www.defenceweb.co.za/images/stories/LAND/LAND_new/Saab_LEDS_trials.JPG |
I've been looking for this pic for a while. The anti tank version of the Badger IFV. So now people can see two of the 5 variants being built for the SA Army. http://www.timeslive.co.za/thetimes/2013/07/16/sa-soldiers-in-the-middle-of-drc-battle SA soldiers 'in the middle' of DRC battle South African soldiers are in the middle of a "very intense firefight", caught between M23 rebels and government forces in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Fighting erupted anew in the war-torn east of the DRC on Sunday and continued yesterday after about 100 armed men disguised in women's clothing entered the country from Rwanda, said local sources. Soldiers of 6 SA Infantry Battalion have been deployed in the DRC in a United Nations "intervention brigade''. The intervention brigade consists of 2069 soldiers, of whom 850 are South African, and falls under the authority of the UN's broader 19000-strong Monusco peacekeeping mission in the Congo. Unlike the peacekeeping force, the brigade, which also has Tanzanian and Malawian contingents, has been mandated to engage any group that tries to destabilise the region. Lieutenant-Colonel Felix Prosper Basse, a spokesman for the Monusco force, said yesterday that the South Africans were ''in the middle'' of the fierce fighting around Goma, the provincial capital. "The [Monusco] operational base in Monigi has always been a South African base. It is on a hill dominating Goma," said Basse. The South African troops have been involved in two other clashes in the past week, sparked when another rebel group, the Mai Mai, attacked a nearby M23 base. "The M23 repelled the attack and the Mai Mai turned and started to shoot at civilians and the blue helmets [UN soldiers] to intimidate them. The blue helmets fired warning shots but when they kept on coming we engaged them," said Basse. One rebel was killed in the fighting and two others were wounded. On Wednesday the exact same scenario played out, ending in four rebels being wounded and a child soldier being captured. DRC government forces have been involved in heavy fighting against the M23 rebels since Sunday. Basse said "very intense firefighting" had started at about 2pm on Sunday in Motahu, about 8km north of Goma. "[Heavy calibre weapons] were used, including multiple-rocket launchers, mortars and artillery. The fighting lasted about four hours," said Basse. On Sunday night explosions were heard at Kanyaruchina village - about 100m from Monusco's position - and the civilian population fled to Goma. Basse said DRC army forces were able to hold the line but the fighting resumed early yesterday. "The latest information we have is that [the government forces are] in a good position and have pushed the M23 rebels back, but the fighting is still going on," he said last night. He could not say how many people had been killed. "Monusco reinforced our positions, including our blocking positions, with armoured personnel carriers among other things, and they have [reinforced] our foot, vehicle and aerial patrols for better protection of civilians," he said. "We will give our full support to [the government forces]." Referring to the latest clashes between [government forces] and the M23 rebels, SA Defence Ministry spokesman Siphiwe Dlamini said the fighting was taking place in the areas where the South African troops are deployed. "We are not involved," he said. The South African base was formerly held by M23 rebels but was taken by Monusco after the two M23 factions started fighting each other, leaving a gap for the UN force to move in. Reports on Sunday said more than 55000 refugees from the eastern DRC had arrived in Uganda after fleeing a rebel attack. - Additional reporting by Sapa-AP, AFP |
NaijaPikinGidi: Bloody, bloody liers! You think we are in the stoneage? Keep telling that to yourselves ... it will help erase the memory of the CAR trouncing by Seleka!I think by now we all know to research topics before screaming on here. I post proof and then what? What will your comeback be? |
NaijaPikinGidi: Mr. AndrewZA, I'm not the id.iot here! You are!!Yes France denied us the use of the airport. Said it might cause rebels to attack the airport and put French nationals at risk. |
agaugust: show me proof of any Type 056 blood sister warship version that was ever built without missiles armed on it, show me, from chinese frigate version, to bangladeshi corvette version, to thailands OPV verson, show me anyone of them that carries no missiles...show me now !This was not your original post fool. Your GRAND 500 post said Nigeria WILL HAVE C-803 anti ship missiles with a range of 300km. You have absolutely no proof to back up that statement. You just went onto the internet and found a missile with the longest range you can, so that you can say its 4 times more powerful than SA Frigates. Your own wikipedia link that you put up says the missile is unlikely to enter large scale production. Not even China's Navy purchased it according to your own link. Your GRAND 500 post is a massive failure. Massive. Make this post again in 2014 when we all know which missiles will be on your boats. |
agaugust: nigerian navy has over 350 warships and boats, 95% built outside africa. show me source of how many nigerian navy vessels were built in south africa for combat purpose. You do not know which missile, if any, Nigeria will choose to arm. You just went onto the net and found a missile with the longest range you can find to try and impress people. Your famous 500 post is just a wish list. We can also make wish lists if we want. Even your wikipedia link shows the weapon has been a failure. Not even China is listed as an operator. |
agaugust: ....Does Nigeria have those missiles? Building the boats does not guarantee you'll get the missiles. The only weapons the Nigerian Navy has listed so far are the 76mm and 30mm guns. Wait for any official from Nigeria stating you will get them, otherwise you dont have them. Or show us the weapons log showing a purchase. Otherwise this is just a wish list. So post this rubbish in 2014 when if you have proof. Also show us how many navies have armed their ships with this missile....which is going to have production cancelled probably. |
agaugust: could you post for us the type of weapons south african army had in CAR seleka combat, R4 rifles, GPMG, RPG, mortars etc...lets know the list. i asked for a good reason. You've just given the list. Plus the weapons mounted on the Special Forces Hornets. There was no heavy armour or IFV's. |
agaugust: please go back to page 236 naval blockade post, south african navy ran away from nigerian coast because they saw the 'death trap' created by nigerian army there. no african country can invade nigeria through the waters. stop dreaming without being asleep. You mean to say....YOU made the navy run away by simply typing on your computer that they ran away. It was YOUR simulation created in your mind, but you talk as if it happened in real life. Sick ward is missing a patient. |
agaugust: open the casket and find out...it could be n**s*n ma***laJust as i thought |
chris365: @saengineOh and P.S before you get carried away. The SA pic was not a funeral. That was a pic of the bodies arriving at Waterkloof airforce base, from which seperate funerals with military honours were held. |
agaugust: that is the standard for burying all soldiers in nigeria. nigerian army does not bury civilians with military honours. i have lost soldier family, officer in nigerian army infantry corps, he fought in a war. i wont mention his name. his military burial made me feel like dying a soldier.Thats nice, and im sorry for your loss. But please provide the link of the picture and let us see who is being buried. There shouldnt be a problem since im sure its a regular rifleman. |
chris365: @saengineAsk your fellow Nigerian where he got this pic. So we can see who is being buried. |
agaugust: ....me too i just didn't get why your south african @saengine was making silly joke about B.oko H.aram camp inside Lagos city of Nigeria, just becasue he hates nigerian army made spy balloons....read his post that attracted my own sangoma counter reply. if you dont want people to hit you back, dont hit them first.I dont hate Nigerian balloons. I only say Nigeria does not have balloons at 84km. |
agaugust: what was the 'long range invisible distance' between south african army and seleka rebels in CAR that resulted in the photo below in march 2013 ?You really love that picture. Now im starting to wonder how they bury dead soldiers in Nigeria. |
chris365: so your fried brain can't tell you that all assets used to gather intels on all boko haram camps that were attacked also include drones and the sky balloon ehn?Your boko haram camps in Lagos? Oh ok.. thank you |
Lol im still waiting to read HOW these balloons have assisted Nigeria a lot. *eating popcorn, waiting patiently* |
GidiNaijaPikin: Another poor attempt at being a comedian! You sound desperately eager to get a free beer from me! Pathetic fellow calling his piggy-bank/coin box a bank. My children have better bank balances to show.Your children miss daddy. Thats the only thing you should be worried about, not me buying agustine a ticket. Im sure they cant wait 4 you to arrive at OR Thambo. |
GidiNaijaPikin: Buy yourself a train ticket to Soweto before dreaming of getting a plane ticket for someone!Yes 007. Because you've hacked into my ABSA bank account and know my bank balance. Focus on your secret mission in Africa and when you come back home to SA i'll buy you a few beers. |
agaugust: another south african news source ? why ? dont foreign media ever visit and make direct reports from south african battle fronts ? nigerian army showed VOA news around b.oko h.aram battle zones to get free and unbiased news for the outside world. No one is stopping foreign media from going to DRC. You can even go if you want to, and report for nairaland.com. I'll buy you a ticket. |
GidiNaijaPikin: More of the same comedy coming from SAns.Stupid questions deserve stupid replies. |
scipher: zuma must be proudUnlike Nigerian troops SA troops dont have time to ask for birth certificates and identity documents from rebels shooting at them. I guess Nigerian troops 1st ask for documents before shooting back. I dont know ![]() |
scipher: Kids againYes. We love killing kids. |
http://translate.google.co.za/translate?hl=en&sl=af&u=http://www.beeld.com/nuus/2013-07-13-sa-wys-wie-is-baas&prev=/search%3Fq%3DSA%2Bwys%2Bwie%2Bis%2Bbaas%2Bbeeld%26biw%3D1280%26bih%3D675 This week South African paratroopers during a bloody skirmish with rebels in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have drawn a clear line in the sand that they do not tolerate any rebel attacks. The response (44 Parachute Brigade, Bloemfontein), two rebels including a commander of the Hutu Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR) allegedly killed and at least four wounded. This was after the rebels from two different factions believe first on the powers of the United Nations in the DRC (Monusco) shot. It was also paratroopers about three months ago in the Central African Republic (CAR) involved a few hundred rebels were killed in the Battle of Bangui. The paratroopers in the DRC is part of the North Kivu brigade Monusco. They will soon become part of the multinational ingrypingsbrigade rebels in the DRC must temper. This week's clashes, according Madnodje Mounoubai Monusco spokesperson, on Wednesday morning at the main rebel group in the area (M23) statements at Kanyanruchina outside Goma happen. About 30 rebels were about 06:00 on the way to this statement M23 shot back. Monusco soldiers on alert to keep an eye on the situation. They also had to ensure that the civilians in the area is safe and that the attackers near Goma. However, the rebels, according Mounoubai Monusco soldiers shot. They also allegedly accidentally in the middle of the South Africans landed statements and started shooting. In such circumstances the peacekeepers returned fire and the South Africans did not wait for them. Mounoubai said it was unclear exactly who the attackers were, but M23 claims it was the FDLR. M23 also claims spot. Soki Masuhuke, one of the commanders, was shot dead and a photo of his body on the internet. The rebels claimed the attack came in preparation for an expected massive onslaught by ingrypingsbrigade M23. According to South African soldiers in the DRC, it was a normal shootout without any reinforcement. The paratroopers were prepared and opened fire with their R4's when the rebels opened fire first. The ingrypingsbrigade still rounded and consists of soldiers from South Africa, Tanzania and Malawi. Helmoed-Römer Heitman, military expert, believes the rebels have now got the message that they do not have the South Africans struggling. "Hopefully the message through to the other rebels. After the Battle of Bangui the paratroopers sharp prepared for any attack. The rebels with the wrong guys looking for trouble. " |
