He has done enough for eagles (highest capped player in our NT history, scored crucial goals for us in many qualifiers etc) and should be graciously sent forth. A good send-forth will be taking him to world cup, use him in one or two matches and leave him to decalre his formal retirement after the world cup.

You can't repeatedly be putting a long-time captain on the bench at matches and not cause un-comfortability in the camp.

It would be more of a humiliation to him than not inviting him at all. People would find it awkward relating to him in the camp.

Unfortunately, his declining performance occurred in a period too far away from the WC to be dragging him along at the team and country's expense.

He should regard the ACN as his send-forth. I think Keshi even helped him increase his caps then at the ACN by using him as sub in matches when he was not needed.
