PHIPEX: Several reports on Nigerian teenagers has it that 50% of Nigerian teenage girls have been pregnant atleast once by the age of 20. If those reports are true then we have a greater problem on our hands.
1. What did they do to those pregenancies?
2. How are they sure they are HIV free because its only someone who had an unprotected sex that can get pregenant?
3. what can be done to checkmate the rise in promiscuity among the youths of today?

As for me, any girl who is bold enough to get pregnant should be bold enough to carry her baby, I can't soak my hands in blood in other to save someone else from shame.
Don't get it mixed up.

I am pretty sure your statistics is not a result of promiscuity but largely because of child marriages especially in the North.

davidylan: and you will be responsible for providing that child with a stable family environment? and you will be providing that child with food, clothes and filling the fatherhood void in his/her life? Yeah the baby should live but sleep on a hard cold floor because the father could care less? Yup the baby should live but have no medical insurance, be passed around from available friend to family member when mom has to work? Yup the child should live but literarily have to beg to be fed? Yeah the child should live but be deprived of having clothes to wear, no siblings to play with, no father-figure to shape/guide?

My guy, i once knew a 3 yr old kid who begged me (with tears in her eyes) to be her father... bro that day i realized one thing... it is not by coincidence that we have 2 parents. A week after i broke up with the mother, the child had a mental breakdown in school because she thought she would never have a father again. Stop chatting rubbish. You are not the one who has to live the life of pain and mental anguish that child will have to go through all because some adults quit using their brains.
No mind am.

People love to give funky philosophies without an understanding of the implications and pragmatism of their "funk".

They just love the feeling of being funky.

Modification: For every Steve Jobs, there are 100 Bill Gates born and raised in stable families, and there are 100 [ex]convicts primarily as an unfortunate result of being born in the same unstable family set-up as Steve Jobs was born.

It really irritates me when people try and use exceptions to form a general judgement.

I think what the guy is trying to say is that giving birth to a child outside of wedlock doesn't always mark the end of a teenager's life. Granted, getting pregnant as a teenager, under most circumstances, is stupid but one can still steer one's life back to it's right course after birthing the child.
I hope he does not say that, let me allow him to explain himself. grin

Dude is busy enjoying his life with no need to feed an extra mouth while my cousin is sitting there juggling school, working and being a mother all before she was even 18. Who will marry her now? Bros abeg stop am.
In Nigeria, very few men would.

They may hit it for the short term but most would not put a ring on it on the long term because of (1) the burden and (2) her reputation of having a kid at 15 would not go down well with extended family.

At best, she can expand her pool of men by focusing on divorcees and widowers.

She is now happily married 2 her childhood sweetheart who put her in the family way about fifteen years ago. When it happened, hell was let loose and infact she was disowned by family members. Only a distant childless aunt nurse her and a baby until she was sent 2 husband's mum. My cousin suffered hardship. The gist is that life has turned better for her and she is doing so well wit her husband, whereas some of us who made mockery of her condition are yet 2 settle down! Am happy she did not abort her now beautiful daugther. How do we make life easy 4 pregnant teenagers, especially in our culture n family?
What utter rubbish!

We should use one case to shape our perception of an obvious regression to socially "acceptable" and "embraceable"?

GiwaRuwa: Dana Air - Some Things You Need To Know

Indian Dana Air is the company that has been cutting corners in many aspects.
Company started with good idea and pure mind what they want to do. Along the way Mr Jacky Hathiramani has been advised with who knows what kind of "aviation experts" and result we know right now. Jacky H. was always ready to invest, he was not ready to compromise the safety, but people bellow him used to have their private interests like in buying spare parts from suspicious sources, workers and management used to damage each other reputations for sake of getting better positions etc.
Company has employed more than 20 Indonesians with suspicious aircraft maintenance background even thou management was aware that Indonesians are at the lowest safety records in the world. Many expatriates had run away because of bad leaving conditions, salaries and because the company didn't follow contract agreements. Working hours were average 250-300 per months. Management of this company especially HR Manager Mr Anand A. used to seize expatriates international passports and keep them locked in some hidden places. No one could leave, people worked like slaves. Many Indians had to use tricks and excuses to get their passports back then next thing they will escape to international airport and fly back to India or wherever without management awareness. No expatriate that shows in Dana pay roll except only their local allowances so no tax has been paid to Nigerian Government.
The Maintenance manager who was sacked by Jacky H two months ago Mr Mike Castle was rejected from our NCAA from his first month he resumed his duties, but he continue being head of Maintenance for over last two years.
He was a real 419 in all aspects. One of the "experts' I mentioned above.
Lear Jet 45 private aircraft category own by Dana AIR has been used from the beginning for commercial charters which is strictly forbidden by the law.By the way Chief Captain on Learjet 45 William Lower ( USA )is half def ( Tractor Driver before he resumed to Dana Air because he couldn't find the job in USA), one of his ears is damaged( he doesn't understand well control tower staffs because of their accent as well ), he was reported to company management by pilots and engineers several times for jeopardizing the safety but the Dana Air DFO Oscar Wason did not find it important to replace him. Everybody aware, nobody reacted. That aircraft 5N-DAL Lear Jet 45 used to go with very VIP people in Nigeria without them knowing what kind of set up is behind.
Why Dana Air should not feel comfortable and continue making good money and good reputation with a minimum investments?
One more trick Dana Air did to get customer from the beginning, was copping the name of DANA KADUNA, company that operates more than 30 years.I believe that original Nigerian Dana ( Dornier Aviation Nigeria AIEP ) got a damaged reputation regarding this that happened to totally different company.
Who allowed this to happen ( talking about the name ) is also a question mark.
It is the time for our Government to start arresting and jailing people over this kind of issues, otherwise they will always be some "Dana Air" popping out in the future.
I don't think this crash has happened because an aircraft is old but because of the chain of negative inputs from every angle of company's policies.
I was told that late Captain ( USA )was complaining bitterly to company management about conditions regarding their operation before he crashed.
God help us.
You will know this write up is a moronic conjured lie by a cretin when you read the highlighted.

So the staff were working more than 24 hours a day on average?

MacLovington: Get off this your high horse.

You are one of those who condemns a Nigerian the most when he/she is accused of anything abroad whether or not he/she has been found guilty. It is also people like you in various govt departments who let foreigners get away with everything in the name of tolerance. Why have the Indians not been seen since the plane crash? Do you think Nigerian will be allowed to own an airline in India? What planet do you live in? Nigerians don't tolerate foreigners and foreiners are looting the country with local collaborators. Be a coconut. Good for you.
What makes you think a Nigerian would not be allowed to own an airline in India?

baysol: Only in Nigeria can Indian criminals operate in this kind of fashion. One thing is certain, why allow foreigners to operate local flights when the Nigerian operators are not given the right support. Government have to put legislations in place to facilitate operations and regulations in the avaition industry. You'll find out that this criminal indians cannot even get an operation license in their own country India.Only in Nigeria does yeye things happen because we hate ourselves more than even outsiders hate us. Obviously looking by the developments it is palpably clear that somepeople are not doing their jobs in the aviation industry in Nigeria. Not a profession for the half-baked chancers and cycophants we see all around Nigeria.
You are a person!

Why shouldn't foreigners be allowed to do business in Nigeria?

What support should Nigerian operators be given?

FamilyRe: These Are The Reasons You're Not Married by Sagamite(m): 11:55am On Jun 06, 2012
Good article.

One thing that was wrong and typical of the way women try and use moronic words to make men do what they [women] want done is:

eyemeka: 1. You’re a Bitch. Here’s what I mean by bitch. I mean you’re angry. You probably don’t think you’re angry. You think you’re super smart, or if you’ve been to a lot of therapy, that you’re setting boundaries. But the truth is you’re pissed. At your mom. At the military-industrial complex. At Sarah Palin. And it’s scaring men off.
The deal is: most men just want to marry someone who is nice to them. I am the mother of a 13-year-old boy, which is like living with the single-cell protozoa version of a husband. Here’s what my son wants out of life: macaroni and cheese, a video game, and Kim Kardashian. Have you ever seen Kim Kardashian angry? I didn’t think so. You’ve seen Kim Kardashian smile, wiggle, and make a sex tape. Female anger terrifies men. I know it seems unfair that you have to work around a man’s fear and insecurity in order to get married — but actually, it’s perfect, since working around a man’s fear and insecurity is big part of what you’ll be doing as a wife.
Because some men are sane enough to know they don't want to and don't deserve to be with a bad-mannered, classless cunt does not mean they are scared, it just means they are not interested.

A man choosing to go and eat Chinese instead of Mongolian food is not scared of Mongolian food, he just prefers Chinese food.

A woman choosing not to give her number to a man that sees her on the road and says "Biatch, what's your number" is not scared of the man, she just prefers a man with manners.

The part I like the most in the article and which I have repeatedly stated on NL is:

eyemeka: 6. You’re Not Good Enough. Oh, I don’t think that. You do. I can tell because you’re not looking for a partner who is your equal. No, you want someone better than you are: better looking, better family, better job.
Here is what you need to know: You are enough right this minute. Period. Not understanding this is a major obstacle to getting married, since women who don’t know their own worth make terrible wives. Why? You can fake it for a while, but ultimately you won’t love your spouse any better than you love yourself. Smart men know this.
I see this at my son’s artsy, progressive school. Of 183 kids, maybe six have moms who are as cute as you’re trying to be. They’re attractive, sure. They’re just not objects. Their husbands (wisely) chose them for their character, not their cup size.
Alright, so that’s the bad news. The good news is that I believe every woman who wants to can find a great partner. You’re just going to need to get rid of the idea that marriage will make you happy. It won’t. Once the initial high wears off, you’ll just be you, except with twice as much laundry.
Because ultimately, marriage is not about getting something — it’s about giving it. Strangely, men understand this more than we do. Probably because for them marriage involves sacrificing their most treasured possession — a free-agent joystick — and for us, it’s the culmination of a princess fantasy so universal, it built Disneyland.
The bottom line is that marriage is just a long-term opportunity to practice loving someone even when they don’t deserve it. Because most of the time, your messy, farting, macaroni-and-cheese eating man will not be doing what you want him to. But as you give him love anyway — because you have made up your mind to transform yourself into a person who is practicing being kind, deep, virtuous, truthful, giving, and most of all, accepting of your own dear self — you will find that you will experience the very thing you wanted all along:
I will never commit to a selfish woman.

Don't get me wrong, I will shag but it would be like a black on black crime: A hit and run.

I would NEVER live my wonderful singledom for a super selfish arsehole that thinks I came to the world to make her life heaven while she does jackshit. Basically, the modern day L'Oreals that only think "me, me, me".

Turkey
African Topscorer (2nd): Michael Eneramo (Nigeria) 15 goals

Belgium
African Topscorer (4th): Joseph Akpala (Nigeria) 15 goals

FRANCE
Nigerian Topscorer (30th): John Utaka 7 goals
The stats suggest to me that our main strikers should be a combination picked from the above.

Kalu Uche can be converted to support striker if not playing offensive midfield.

marutimon: Scotland
African Topscorer (7th): Sone Aluko (Nigeria) 12 goals (played 2/3 of a season)

Norway (2011 season)

Nigerian Topscorer (8th): Peter Utaka (played half a season), Syvester Emega Igboun 8 goals

Finland (2011 season)
Nigerian Topscorer (8th): Babatunde Wusu 14 goals

Sweden (2011 season)
Nigerian Topscorer: John Chibuike 7 goals

Serbia
Nigerian Topscorer (8th): Obiora Odita 9 goals
And this batch should be outside chances we can test in friendlies.

This is only for those with the interest in property investment in Nigeria,no need to thrash naija, sometimes some people interest is in ikeja,vi,ikoyi, ajah wake up and invest in other areas and still make profit , would you not rather invest now,it true that it pays. Another friend of mine was part of the lawyers that worked on the documentation of the financing. These Dana planes are 22 years old! The engines are refurbished and we raised these issues during the transaction but nobody listened. Everyone was eager to close the transaction and move on.

On a related note, a friend who lost the mum in the Sosoliso crash informed me that the compensation has not been paid because the airline was not insured!! meerkat: I was reading an update on the European transfer market this morning and the amount of money being mentioned as weekly pay for those players started me thinking. I read some players are paid £175,000, £150,000, £130,000 etc weekly and when I converted it to naira, it ran into millions. And I said to myself, "these players and their generations to come can never know poverty. On a second thought remembering what taxation in Europe is said to be like, I want to ask; is the amount tax inclusive? If so how much is the tax percentage? Are there other deductions? what is the actual amount a player earning say, £150,000 a week go home with? Can anybody in the house satisfy my curiosity.

Thanks as I await your response.
A footballer making 150K would probably be taking 75K home a week after all deductions (tax and NI).

The fact that they live and are expected to live very expensive lives does mean that logic of their generations not wanting is shaky.
