EducationRe: Graduates Of Economics, Where Are You Working Now? by Saintinoo(m): 10:49pm On Sep 04, 2020
InventTech:
Since this trend is breeding.. Let me drop a few.

- I have pals who studied Pol. Science, they both got a job through the graduate trainee scheme in Zenith Bank and Access banks. Both have progressed so much career wise, and by net worth they are multi-millionaires and established.

- I know a bunch of guys who studied architecture, administration, soil science, animal husbandry and some 'perceived low grade social science/art courses working in KPMG, PWC and EY. Oh yeah, and they have progressed so much, bagged professional courses and masters alike even in newer unrelated fields.

Emphatically,
Upcoming graduates need to understand this simple rule.

There are actually jobs here in Nigeria and everywhere!!!

But the most significant characteristics every employer looks for are:

1. Aptitude
2. Capability
3.Competence

Anyone who has developed these 3 variables will definitely be gainfully employed when the opportunity comes knocking regardless of whatever course they studied.

Definitely some courses have more preferences than others but on a balanced scale employers are looking for candidates the 3 features above.

So what's the problemhuh

1. How many graduates spread across all courses in Nigeria can easily ace GMAT, SHL, psychometric/ability tests and well structured oral interviews. Oh yeah, you would say people with majors in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) have advantage because of their backgrounds in numerics, but these questions are structured to check your problem solving, verbal, critical and visual intelligence.

2. How many graduates take time off school to attempt IQ Tests, job tests and practice before and after they graduate. So many graduates lack simple social and communication skills, many lack basic computing knowledge and can't use basic MS Office applications - there are actually people who can't open a word document and type.

3. We can easily say that many graduates in Nigeria are seriously unprepared not actually 'unqualified' to get jobs. Get to social media like Facebook groups and your eyes would hurt so much from grammatical blunders written by 'graduates'. It's not the school's or course they studied but an 'individual problem'

Anyone who "genuinely" made at least 2.1/Upper credit from any top tertiary institution in Nigeria actually has special skills and unique capabilities they may not even know about.

School is not Scam, and there are JOBS!!!

There are just a handful persons who have paced themselves up with the relevant skills and knowledge to grab them!
Please remove that word "top", all Nigeria universities are thesame, the difference is the student.

its this the new trend?? we all know that its only in naija that a graduate in agric can endup working in the bank because of "strong legs" and the course you studied do not determine what you would endup with..

I wouldn't employ a graduate who writes the way you do, Sorry.

This is why they summoned him to Minna? His adherence to the northern agenda was the main reason few people from the east worried about his case when he was locked up the other time... Next will be Okorocha to tell you that "competence" is what matters, as if there are no competent people elsewhere... Two judases. It's an old trick of using southern characters created by the northern oligarchy to further the northern interests/agenda.. They should try a new trick because this one is worn out and very predictable..
So you still believe in South presidency?
EducationRe: ASUU: Our Public Universities Are Still Unsafe For Reopening by Saintinoo(m): 7:47am On Sep 01, 2020
I have said this, ASUU is the second problem we have in the university sub-sector after FG, a union filled with old crooks whose only weapon in it arsenal is strike.

Ask them why they always go on strike, they tell you they are fighting for the students, what an irony.

What happened to non particaption in government activities like elections as a way to push their demands, but those old crooks would rather receive bribes from politicians to rig.

FG should go ahead and open universities for final year students then ask them to resume work by meeting some of their demands, any lecturer who fails to resume should be sacked.

Old thiefs.....

Married folks,
What was that thing you later realised you wasted your money on during your wedding ceremony?

For me was Wedding IV. Spent money printing quality IV. I should have just used WhatsApp, Facebook and SMS and people would still have come. My mums friends and associates was enough crowd.

I travelled with my woman to UK to shop for wedding gown, shoe and wrist watch. Spent £2,200 on gown. £800 wristwatch I cant remember the price of the shoe now. That's for madam alone.

Madam now forced me to buy wedding suits for me and my best man.

Looking back, I would have built a bungalow with this stupid expense. Even my madam now regrets spending such money on wedding gown that she wore for 2 hours and that was it. The gown is wasting somewhere now.

I know I wasted money unnecessary. My only joy is the good wife I married.

Share the mistakes you made in expense planning wedding
Don't tell me you wasted that amount of money and you still don't have a house of your own.

If he said they have passed the peak, lets all agree and rejoice, atleast think will get back to normal in Nigeria, you and know nothing about coronavirus fight in Nigeria, it is the more you look the confused you get.

Sorry I did not see it as unnecessary. Love making is more enjoyable especially when the partner is showing interest. It can even make the man perform more. But when it's you all the time, it reduces the urge as you may feel you are always disturbing your partner for what she don't want. Most times I may decide to stay on my own since she seems not to need it but when it takes long and she don't even care to feel it, I will still go back and initiate when the konji is much on me. Such act doesn't give me joy and a sense of belonging
When you brought this matter here, you should have known there are so many kids on nairaland, try and ignore some qoutes.

✅This is when all schools will be re-opened – FG makes fresh updates(Read full details)

The federal government on Thursday, August 13, gave an update on when all schools across the country would be fully reopened for academic activities.
RoyalNG reports that the minister of state for education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, said during the daily briefing on COVID-19 that once the PTF assesses all the data, it would inform Nigerians when it is safe to reopen schools.

The minister also noted that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is still on strike which was started before the lockdown in March.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and chairman Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, said that presidents, prime ministers and other top personalities have contracted COVID-19.
He warned that people must protect themselves against the coronavirus pandemic, adding that people should not assume that their friends and families are COVID-free.
"Presidents, prime ministers and other top personalities have contracted COVID-19. We must protect ourselves. Don't assume your friends, families are COVID-free; wear your masks before going out. We must remain alive and safe until a vaccine is found," he said.

Speaking on channel Television yesterday he said:
Once the PTF assesses all the data, it will inform us of when it is safe to reopen schools but the resumption imminent hopefully nextmonth- Minister of Education (State) - Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba.

was with a bea last year that was working and earning nice cash, asked her to lend me 10k to add to mine so i use to pay bills for an interview in another state that i budgetted 40k because i planned stayin a week, days letter she miraculously gave me 5k maybe because of the fasting and prayer i did and GOD touched her stonned heart..
went and the interview didnt work as planned but i meet an old Friend in the same hotel dt jus came back from u.k and he transferred 100k to use as t.p bk to my state and to offset bills, only for me to return and the idiot girl was accusing me of cheating on her with her own money because i stayed longer than planned..
I explained to her what happened, then transferred 10k to her and told her dt i dnt wana ever see her wicked face again in my life..
my perception for girls changed from then up till now..
Cheating on her with 5k, that girl really finish you.

You guys are getting it wrong pls

When a woman gives you money, it's a borrowed money because its necessary at that time for you

She does that because you needed it and out of nothing she has to do that because she doesn't want you to be in distress

But bear in mind that you are with her money and don't ever think she has forgotten it

As a matter of fact, a woman keeps more of financial records than abuse records

Just respect yourself through out that period she gives it to you

She also believes that she can't give you her heart and gives you her money, no naw, haba!!!

Any day you frustrate her, she will remind you of every kobo
I don't normally qoute female monikers on nairaland, but just want to ask this question.

I will ask a simple question
what do you have to say about Oyo state that reopened schools before the FG?
Go back to my comment and see where i said education being on the concurrent list applies to basic and seconday education alone, the university sub-sector is controlled by federal ministry of education and NUC.

Why did Oyo state governor not order UniIbadan and Lautech to reopen together with the SS3 student?

Do you know what it mean by saying you assure something you are not sure of?

I believe i have heard this news even before OP did, forget what you hear about their SUG comfirming the info or the school ICT centre, if the managment dare open up that school NUC will sanction them badly.

And about the name calling, i didn't call anybody names.

Common sense should also tell you that the national response gave every state the right to say when schools will reopen. You no de read book, na to de type wetin u no sabi
Do not let me call you an ignorant fellow. The education is on the concurrent list you here the minister of state for education saying concerns basic and secondary education.

The so called national response you made mention of do not determine how school is being run, only the ministry of education and agencies under it does.

The PTF on covid-19 have been given the power to decide which sector or sub-sector opens and when. In the case of higer education especially universities, only the ministry of education and NUC have the final say on their resumption, if private universities have not been reopened buy their money hungry owners, what makes you think that state owned varsities will reopen.

You can go back to operenews and get more fake news, Nigeria unemployable students.

ANSU/COOU Resumes school for all First years & Clinical students.
Others to follow in a month when these set have taken their exams.

Recall that Anambra state Governor was the first to relax Lockdown restrictions & open markets, churches, etc earlier in May.

We hope that other schools would follow soon, although ASUU is the main bone of contention but ANSU has as of today, decamped..

Expect divisions in ASUU soon.
Nigeria students like carrying fake news, i wonder if this is how you guys want to get employed.

Comon sense should tell you that the university have no right to announce resumption of school, in this case only PTF on covid-19 in collaboration with Federal ministry of education can announce school reopening.
