The problem with my windows 10 is that it drinks data like a V8 engine drinks fuel. I have tried to disable all updates yet sometimes I can use 1gb in just 30 minutes. In fact, I'm thinking of changing to windows 7. Is there any solution for this? |

Hello All, Happy New Year. Please permit me to ask this question here because I know I'll get practical answers here.
My mum is traveling to Toronto this month and I want to buy her flight ticket. 1. How can I get a cheap but reasonable flight for her? Contact a travel agent or book it myself on any airline website especially since it will involve connecting flights? If travel agent, which one should I use?
2. Her return date is unknown for now. Can I book an open return? or must I have to put a date even when it is not sure yet?
3. what of cold? I heard whatever winter clothes you buy here will be useless when you land at the airport over there. How should we do this?
Thank you all. |

jinneyb: And am sorry my brother, you think there's a quick fix to all the issues been faced by a country as big as this country. Some people talk about fixes like as if it's just a unit of the family they are talking about. Need you be reminded that no matter how good your intentions are, even coupled with actions, there are always saboteurs who will never make it work because of what they stand to gain.
For every action taking to better lots and lifes, counter productive measures of unlike minds will never make it work and this baffles me as this people never take the populace at heart, they only think of themselves. A reason why we as Africans will continue to dwell in this position we've found ourselves.
A brief example, a stray dog was seen in my area by a lady which she started taking care of it. Because of her financial status and the kinda breed of dog it is, I knew she can't take care of the dog so I invited someone who keeps dogs something like a kernel service provider, only for people who because are older than her not to let the dog be adopted stating that the matter has been reported to the police only for us to later find out it wasn't. Now the dog still remains where it is with no hope for it to be taking proper care of. Now this didn't just happen, it was because this so-called elders wanted something in return.
We are and will continue to be the problem of ourselves, not any leader, but we the follower. Most of you quoting me did not understand the point I am trying to make. What I am saying is simple . There is no excuse for failure. I am sure the next president of Nigeria will be using buhari's failure as excuse for his own failures and the cycle continues. Since we Nigerians accept excuses for whatever ever reason, the country will not make progress. We complained of epileptic power supply in 1999, we are still complaining of it today and with the way we keep defending politicians and accepting excuses, I am sure we will be complaining of power supply in 2050. |

OAM4J: Lol. I feel your pain.
It is difficult debating here these days. Reason some of us just read and move on. There are 2 categories of people here that are difficult to debate with. Those who see no wrong with their beloved in power and those who see no good with the ones they dislike in power.
You will only get sentiments instead of logic and objectivity, conjectures / fairytale instead of logic / comon sense and facts.
While we constantly disagreed with each other those days, we never got so passionate to throw away objectivity in our arguments and we would not substitute our personal opinions for facts. And facts must come from reliable and reputable source. We didn't even value wiki links as a reliable source of facts compare to the way people now take a Facebook post or a blog's bedroom conjectures and view points for fact.
And then only sound arguments with facts got liked by others. Imagine instead of someone disputing your post with sound counter argument, he only responded by calling you zombie and yet got many likes.
Believe me you have tried. I have to come out from my ghost mode to make this note.
#BackToGhostMode It is because none of you have genuine love for Nigeria. All you guys care about is the love you have for your favorite politicians. Some people's interest is to protect GEJ and PDP image while some others are just here to protect the image of APC and PMB, no real love for the country. This is why what you see on political section is APC, PDP, IPOB, Afonja, SW, SE, North, GEJ, PMB, Zombie, Wailer etc because that is the only thing you guys care about. I don't think there are up to 1% of nairalanders that care about this country. Sometimes it is better to even look at boobs in sexuality section than to comment on this section. |

Do u know things got worse before the economy picked up. I simply stated the facts, that can not be ignored simply because u want to pretend it never happened, Bush blamed, Clinton blamed, Obama blamed, even the orange man in white house now is the blaming on twitter everyday, it is called politics. I would have appreciated you if you had suggested solutions to our problems instead of defending buhari and comparing his failures to past failures. Bros, excuses never ends, there must be something to hold on to as an excuse and it will be perfect to ears and this is what you must understand. Tomorrow someone else we take over from buhari and would start using buhari's failure as excuse, the cycle continues because we have an army of youths who are willing to listen to excuses upon excuses. Anyway good luck to you guys, na una go still suffer am. I rest my case. |

progress69: my brother, we all know the havoc terrorists caused on oil pipelines and and installations. for almost a year the president had to deal with that issue with oil price going as low as $28/barrel. Now crude oil have started picking up, and we are getting more revenue from diversification efforts, we can see some improvement with Nigeria gradually sliding our of recession. This is not about being a Buharist, we have to be fair. Our National reserves have started growing despite all the harsh conditions, things are gradually beginning to improve. by the end of 2018, much difference would have been notice. All i want now is for Baba to put an eagle eye on desperadoes like Atiku who will do anything to sabotage the government to grab power that he can never reach. Sai baba Bros, you are saying a piece of bunkum. If as a major shareholder of a dying company and i hire you to resuscitate it, will you face the board and be giving them these bulshit excuse or would you just tender your resignation before they fire you? The bullshit you wrote is exactly why Nigeria owned companies don't survive except ones managed by foreigners because we only know how to compare failure with failure. Look at Nigeria as a dying company before buhari came in, he claimed he knew the problems of the company and can stop the slide and make it better. We did not beg him to come and save the country, he fought to lead to country after several attempts and you stand before us to create excuses for failure to the extent of bringing up past failure to exonerate his failure? Do you think Nigeria is all about APC and PDP, wailers and Zombies? Is that what matters to you? If I am your HR manager, I'll sack you immediately, you will be a weak link to any team because you don't even have a mindset to succeed. I repeat, there is no excuse for failure and it doesn't matter if the people before you have failed. |

They may not have a backup generator because they don't expect this kind of thing to happen. From the reactions, you can see it is unusual. This may happen once in 30 years and this why it is making news. A Nigerian visitor in that airport will not see it as a big deal.
