Asaba man: pls guys...i formatted my acer 5515 and install windows xp.. the problem is when i tried to drive the vga after downloading it online...i get this message "setup cannot proceed becouse the lenght of the specified directory path plus the installation folder name exceeds 88 character. please shorten one or both below specified limit and try again"..pls what do i do?

got this hp pavillion dv6 , tried uninstalling kaspersky antivirus last sunday. it requested to restart the system and i did a forced restart.
now the system refuses to boot into the desktop environment. It always stop after the starting windows screen. Tried safe mode and it stopped at /classpnp/ file. Please what do i do because this is a somebody's system and not mine and he needs this pc like very very soon. Thanks in advance for every anticipated and practical advice.

ControG: MY PC gives me problem when m browsing, about to open an important page or a secured website,it tells me to activate "vulnerable pluggins" i 'm never able to view important docs online..I ALWAYS use a cafe.cos of dis problem.I 've adobe reader 9 installed on my windows 7..i downloaded some pluggins last yr it was as if i downloaded rubbish.anyone with help on the right pluggins for my HP WINDOWS& OS.TO ENABLE ME VIEW PDF ONLINE SHOULD PLS HELP..thanks in ANTICIPATION

adewasco2k: Let me ask a question first, did yuou uninstall the pre-installed antivirus? all system comes with an antivirus, yours should come with Norton antivirus, i have seen situations where people install another antivirus on that, that can bug your system, also if you have unistalled it before installing yours, still look at the installed programs and make sure nothing like Norton antivirus or Symantec.

until you purchase your copy of windows by clicking start, all progra...
accessories and the run. a box would pop up type in cmd and a black box would
pop up. we would like you to ypr in slmgr -rearm press enter and restart
your computer. if that doesn't work wait till it reach 2 days then try this method.

to check click start and computer click system properties and scroll down it should
have change to 120 days or less than that. My colleagues are aware that we do not
offer activation keys, it's against the rules laid down by Seun and the moderators.
We look forward helping you with any other problem apart from that

I jus woke up one fine day, turned on the laptop and couldnt find the partitioned portion (100gb) for storing other important files and videos again. Av tried through Disk mgt but culd not even see a sign of it. Av tried a drive recovery with RecoverMyFiles software but still cant find the drive while other part is thill being as the system drive and still maintaining thesame capacity. I need help to make it come back and be visible again, please. Thanks

albacete: mine is what i will call a lil' problem. My 4530s ProBook does not show dat Hp volume info when i adjust d volume. It only shows d one of Windows only which can be accessed via d taskbar.
Secondly, i always get a dialog box about Hp taskbar throwing an exception or not loading an assembly/component whenever i boot my system.
Finally, is it necessary to install Windows updates (close to 900 MB), considering d cost of data i will need for such updates? even my Hp taskbar is not helping matters with periodic updates that increase my data costs.
Update Norton, update Windows, update Hp. @ d end, i will have little data left for browsing.

peteregwu: God forbid! i rather die than to steal someone else's laptop. what i posted was true amd nothing more, if u want to help pls do, and i u dont want, well, thank you and God bless u.

adewasco2k: If you have tried a working RAM, a working Hard drive, and you know the Screen is perfect, then we are left with few things to try.

First try this reset,
* remove the battery and every other things connected including the adapter
* hold down the power button for atleast 30 seconds, return back battery and try it.

If that fails, may be you can try ro check a working processor on it, if you are savvy enough to remove a processor and fix it perfectly.

If that also fails, you might start s=checking Motherboard

I know other will give you more suggestions as this is just what came to me now.

peteregwu: pls guys i need your help. my brother brought an acer travelmate laptop for me from norway which is fairly used. it is locked by the user and the language is their local language and not english. what do i do in this case, i need u guys to help me and direct me on what to do to unlock the password or even do factory seeting in other to make use of it.

Akseph: wht do u mean by driver pack, is it the cd that came with d system that contain the driver or another cd called driver pack.

adewasco2k: First was the old hard disk damaged? Is NO, all you need to get your PC runing well is inside...the DRIVERS....so I will say if you have the old hard disk and its still working, get an adaptor, connect the old hard disk to your PC look at this directory....C:/SwSetup copt the folder "Swsetup" all the drivers are inside.

Secondly, if the above is not possible, if you know anybody with same PC as yours, copy the SWsetup folder from them to your PC.

Finally resort, visit HP website and download the missing drivers, you have to download a driver for your own operating system...(E.g windows 7)


<--To explain few things-->
Goto device manager on your PC (right click on My Computer, click device Manager)
Look at the different drivers and take note of the once with a yellow icon, those are the missing drivers...so you will install them from the SWsetup folder. Some might not show at all, like webcam driver and so on....so just look inside the Swsetup folder or download the drivers for things you think is missing and install

flama: Gurus in the house pls help, i just changed the hard drive of my HP Dv3, and i can't get all the initial function again, even the fingerprint also is not working anymore. I've lost the recovery disk that came with laptop. Pls how can get all this function back.
