Bro ur car is probably going slow..

I meant check the rpm and u would discover it goes below 500rpm when u slow down.

increase the rpm to 1000

Hello, I have an 07 dc, used 5w30 in servicing the engine since I bought it abt 2 yrs ago. At the last service, I switched back to 20w50 which the previous owner was using because I started noticing oil shortage. Now I’m hearing grinding noise from the engine when it’s running, engine still moves well though. Any advice ?

Please I have owned a 2005 Honda Accord [not v6] for about 2 months now, bought Nigeria used, car drives perfectly, but I need help on these factors
1. The fans were connected directly, and I need them back to the normal way.
2. I don't seem to like the sound of the car, it could be a bit quieter, there is this uneven sound in the serpentine belt area.
3. The check engine light is on, I'm not surprised since the fans are connected directly.

I am a 8-5 person and won't want to wake up one day and have the car die on me on 3rd mainland

I want to believe the previous owner did that for a reason, I meant connected the fan directly.

You might want to ask him about that..

Now about the noise from the belt, you shd check if its slack or is your power sterring thats causing that..

Is it some whinnig noise? If its from your power sterring then you might need to change the o ring, but if its from the belt, then I recommend changing it.

Another thing could make an EOD engine rise high, thats if the rpm is above 1000rpm .

If its above 1, you might want to reduce it to around 700rpm for better fuel efficiency and serious reduction in engine noise.

About the check engine light, that I do not know oo..

I use same model too, but v6.

Funny thing is, some people reading comments might think they are all fabricated.

I gave a friend mine to use for just a day, he returned the car 3 days after with a brushed rare bumper, Car starts to go off frequently and finally power sterring became so stiff.

U will see 2003 with the rare light u described for 05.

Its quite very difficult to spot the difference btw this 3 models..

Like trying to spot the difference btw rice grains ....


Most EOD we see around are 03 model. But ppls tag dem 05, 04

Me sef want to know how to spot the difference aside from checking VIN.

Check throttle position sensor. Scan car.

Very accurate suggestions, once had similar issues with my eod, turns out the throttle the cable was broken.

From experience bro, not all blinking D Light is caused by Switch.

I have EOD 2005,

The gear won't shift pass 2nd gear, will just rev uppppp with no speed.

So when I want to gain speed, I put in gear 2, drive till speedometer reaches 40, then I switched back To D.

Now, the D light blinks also.

I had changed all sensor, changed the Selonod. Although didn't change the second gear switch, the one by the side of the gear oo

Same ish.


Here's the symptoms for mine.

When u first start car, it changes 1st gear, but won't go pass that,

Sometimes it does, thats like once in 3weeks.

So the gear specialist said he would need to change the fiber.

Or I buy new gear.

I even brought in someone to scan, although he didn't give the codes, but he said the issue is with the gear and not the switch.

I have put the car up for sale now. I can't kill myself

Yes, fortunately that was the cause of the problem. Unfortunately, it had to be removed but car now works fine.

This accord is not 06, its btw 2003-2005, the rare view says it all.

The culprit could be one of the Plug Heads/ Caps coil. it needs to be replaced. I have experienced this same issue with Honda Civic 2010.

Kindly tell us your own experience, any battery icon on dashboard? And where you able to restart once you or experienced car cranks but no start?

I will take pictures of mine next time it shut off.

It also goes off on reverse, and also when it goes off, It won't show the battery icon, only the oil icon, then the red light on P won't come up too.


Since urs is the battery icon, might be your alternator or fuel pump isn't working properly

I hv checked it again. The car goes off when I slow down especially at traffic light or when I want to reverse, the only icon that shows is the battery light. When I restart it, it goes off again as I put it on drive until I try it for a few time placing my leg on the accelerator while starting.
