Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Do They Really Sell Employment Slots In Nigeria by samonak(m): 10:47am On Oct 02, 2021*. Modified: 11:17am On Oct 02, 2021 |
Of course every one knows job slots are sold codedly, I have a friend who bought the Federal Fire service Job for 400k, he is currently hanging 2 stars. A friend to a cousin of mine bought NDIC job for #5M through one Hajiya, he was placed on Level 10 cos he had prior work experience. That same cousin of mine facilitated employment in PEF ( Petroleum Equalization Fund) for one lady who paid #1M cash and was placed on Level 8 ( na her boyfriend even pay the money) The sad fact is that, everything in this country is for sale, all you have to do is get a reliable connect, pay and the job is yours! If you want to see levels just go to federal character commission, they just share slots among the principal officers who In turn resell it or secure the jobs for their relatives or cronies. Even the so called NIPPS is a complete scam, it's a major job racketeering outfit that all manner of atrocities are committed. A major reason the Northerners are against restructuring is because of the power they enjoy at the centre, the real truth is that the country belongs to the Hausa - Fulanis, they run things and determine who gets what, when and how. Go to some parastatals and agencies, na dem boku there. When you enter places like NSPMC ( printing and minting) you'll wonder whether na Ab oki organization, same for Customs, DMO, NPA or any "juicy" organization. That's why they will do anything possible to secure power and be in charge. Only God fit help this country, Walahi. |

haslaw: You are reasoning like a typical NCO. Having a degree is not always sufficient to get commissioned. Besides, you would have applied and have been released to go for studies before such qualifications are even considered. Also the issue of age comes into play. Most fresh graduates are alway very young fit and sharp which is exactly what the military wants not some old NCO. An NCO will always behave and act like an NCO even after they have been commissioned.
Any NCO with qualifications not declared at the point of recruitment should be arrested for either going AWOL or brandishing fake qualifications because you couldn't have been in two place at the same time. What about those NCOs who're Ex - boys ( NMS - Zaria) or Ex JAMs ( Air force military school, Jos ? Are they not equally young, experienced and armed with a degree, unlike the blinking graduates who frolicked in the university/ Poly, only to get commissioned into the army through connection? Do you know till date the NA does not even write aptitude test or any qualifying exam before selecting candidates for Short service? So tell me what criteria do they use in selecting? They just select people randomly and commence training just like that. So how can you be sure the process is fair? Some of the NCOs you're vilifying had to pass through all manner of frustration before they could even get the opportunity to acquire the degree. Some wicked commanders out of envy and insecurity, blatantly refused to allow these NCOs proceed on the course in the higher institutions. Are you aware that even most of these so -called graduate officers are the ones messing up the Army? They don't have the grit and stamina necessary to function as well trained soldiers. Majority are cowards and bail out in combat situation. A case in point, is the massacre that happened in Metele - Borno state. Majority of the officers killed or captured where the short service cadre ( Colitos) Even among the rank and File, especially the SNCOs, complain that these types are usually the major problem the army is having, because they see the army as a job or meal ticket rather than as a calling. The Nigerian Army made a big mistake by even opening up The SSC space to university graduates, they should have exclusively reserved it for young Military personnel with higher qualifications and then left the DSSC spot for university or Poly graduates. |

There are rules in job and I am yet to see any rules (military or not) that specifically excludes Ibos from anything in Nigeria. , Come Oga, I no be IBO, I was merely pointing out what I noticed during my time in Enugu. Besides, same also happened to my relative who's from Benue and also a Cpl with BSc degree. He was screened out from the SSC selection process because he acquired his degree without army sponsorship. He left the army out of annoyance because of that incidence. |

Just so, because they don't want the NCOs to benefit massively from the commissioning, it is now stated that civil certificates won't be recognized for commissioning except you are voluntarily released on long course to military institutes. Can u just imagine!!! that is, you must have been given army sponsorship, the army must have officially released you to pursue your degree, if you don't have that permission, if you like get 5 PhDs dem no go send u. |

juniior: If she served nysc in 2018 she's not supposed to be a 2 star lieutenant by now
It's possible she did DSSC after serving NYSC. But all DSSC are commissioned as 1 star lieutenant.
It is only after five years that you get promoted to 2 star lieutenant.
Except if she has connection in the military
I smell fowl play Guy stop misinforming the public, as a DSSC officer you're commissioned as a Full Lt ( 2- star) the commission is meant to last not more than 10 years except you convert to DRC ( direct regular commission) that's why most DSSC officers who don't convert within the period of 10 years hardly cross the rank of Major or it's equivalent. In fact, in medical corp, those who are consultants or have higher medical qualification are even commissioned as Captains or Full Lt with One - year seniority over their mates commissioned the same day. Whereas Regular officers who are commissioned as 2/Lt get to become full Lt after a Year. ( previously used to be after 6mths) that one na bonanza for every body, it is after that they go for Lt - Capt promotion exams. |

Dagger111: You must be a military man bro, u nailed it. U see, i dont have problem with Regular officers who went to NDA for 5years rigorous military and academic training. Bt u say those civilians shortlisted for short service after their civil B.Sc or HND, they are very wicked.
Nigeria system av to change, why would our constitution even support commissioning of civilians after first degree for jst 6months training when we have soldiers with 15years above that can be commissioned massively as commissioned officers. This doesn't help at all. Some of the NCOs even possess BSc, MSC and even PhD! I even knew one Sgt in 82Div Enugu who had a MSC while his friend a S/Sgt had a PhD! Unfortunately, both were IBO's and had no "long leg" the military should have concentrated more on commissioning those ones especially for SSC cadre and left DSSC for blinking civilian graduates. |

I asked for permission in school just to go see her since she only have me and her sister but i was denied the permission.
My mind was not at peace knowing the way my younger sister was crying on phone and she has no one to stay with her.
I left without the permission and was close arrest after a week of being abs in sch.
I was charged for awol and was surprised to see the outcome as dismissed.
I have accepted my faith
. I look forward to seeing myself in a better place again.
Please pray for my mom, don't want to loose school and my mum.
She still can't take her left leg Haba! AWOL does not merit dismissal ( except you're a chronic awolee) worse case scenario they should have given you relegation or Restriction with loss of pay and IHL ( intensive hard labour) |

I pray he maintains his integrity and faith in God. The NPF is a behemoth and the very bastion of corruption, In fact it is corruption personified. The force has an ignoble history of pulling down good men and women who want to do the right thing, some how your career gets truncated or you're made redundant till you become frustrated. The problem with the NPF is nepotism, mediocrity and flagrant disregard of federal character principle. The major problem lies with the upper echelon, which is filled with half educated, mediocre and power drunk Hausa - Fulani officers who know next to nothing about positioning the force to conform to 21st century policing. The NPF is too centralized and I highly subscribe to state policing so as weaken the power of the centre. Further more, I recommend the NPF be restructured to Function like the FBI which has oversight over the various state police departments in the US ( with various levels of autonomy) So young "incorruptible officer" I pray the oil "unction" on your life speak grace for you and also position you at the pinnacle of your career. |

Missionaire: An MWO can be commissioned to become an officer. Most times it is 1 in like a thousand sef. The closest to that is becoming an AWO. So, a SNCO like an MWO can be commissioned. Now, in the context of this thread, you cannot become a commissioned officer without being a degree holder. It's all semantics. |

Missionaire: Can you become an officer without being a degree holder whether DSSC or SSC? No , you can become an officer without a degree if you're enlisted and selected for branch commission/ quartermaster, but it's very rare and not frequently done, I've seen instances where the RSM ( regimental Sergeant Major) of NDA a master warrant officer (MWO) was commissioned a Captain and retired after a few years, and yes he wasn't a degree holder. |

Kandeed: Sadly in the military, there's no such thing as age differences the only respect you earn is with ur Rank and as a Lieutenant she is tho small n young but can still order a 50yrs old warrant officer to swim in a mud and he has no choice but to do it. What the Lieutenant did to the corper is one of the most slightest punishment anyone can do in the Barracks so expect her to be released in few minutes time , Guy u no know wetin u de yarn abeg, a blinking Lt order a Warrant officer to swim in mud! May be it can happen to a Private or L/CPL but never a Warrant officer, to attain the rank of WO u must have put in not less than 20 years in service, na I'm one blinking Lt, that just passed out from NDA or Colito wey just hang Lt go kon the throw smoke for a WO! At worst he can order him to report at the Mess, remove belt and shoes, then just de high inside de mess. Some Captains de even fear to talk to some Warrant Officers, especially if he's an appointment holder like Unit RSM or even chief clerk. In most instances, the WO even trained the Lt while at the academy as a blinking cadet, so that fear still de. A Warrant officer is like a general among the Non commissioned officers and wields a reasonable amount of respect and influence, so as an officer before u fit get liver talk down on him u need check urself well. |

Missionaire: A Lieutenant is an officer. You must be a graduate to become an officer. A Lieutenant is the rank before Captain. The high handedness of officers especially female officers is too much. Most female officers want to show dominance especially to their fellow women. She should be punished as a precaution to others. Thank God for Social Media. Before she go hang Captain with this negative publicity eh... E fit take her double the normal time frame. Not all officers are graduates or degree holders. Ever heard of Branch or Quarter master commission? This is a commission given to SNCOs ( senior non commissioned officers) like MWO or WO2 with proven leadership qualities. But most don't go beyond the rank of Major or it's equivalent. In fact, up till about the early 2000s one can be commissioned with just 5 credit passes in SSCE ( I.e. SSC, short service commission) but was subsequently reviewed to BSC or HND. |

Career › Re: Female Bosses by samonak(m): 3:35pm On Sep 18, 2021 |
Focusmind: Just find a way of "ass licking" them. My first boss when I joined the banking sector was a woman. I would praise her to high heaven. Sometimes she came with food from home and while eating it, I would be like, " Madam, this food smells nice and your husband must be enjoying". She would laugh and always found ways of trying to tell me things so that I would give her the kind of answers she would want.
I would praise her and her kids to high heavens to the extent that I had to come to her house to coach her son that was preparing for Federal government college entrance exam then. She was so impressed that I was favored among the staff under her. She was mean to the core and was dreaded by all, but I found favor with her. Sometimes, she sent me to her house with driver to pick up something and I practically warmed myself to her. It was a game I played very well since I could not change or select my boss. She was the one doing appraisal and a lot of things are taken into consideration. If you have been into corporate world, you would understand.
There was time she did 10 years marriage anniversary and invited everybody, including staff. I was practically serving food, doing every chore. When people left that Sunday evening, I went to the back of the house and started washing plates and coolers with her Nanny. She came to the back of the house to drop some plates and found me and shouted that I should leave the place and stop washing the plates. I said, " madam, don't worry, it was nothing." She stood there and was looking at me.
It was around, 8:30pm and I was about to go. She was staying in a massive duplex in festac, while I was leaving at Ire-Akari estate. She insisted that I should not go, that I should go and sleep at their boys quarter. But I told her that tomorrow was Monday and I needed to go home and prepare for work. She said I should not bother coming to the office in the morning and should take two days off. I did stay in their house, helped her kids with their weekend homework and other things.
In the morning, before leaving, the husband gave me N10k and one new Turkish suite that he has not used before. The man is well to do anyway. Since that day, I was one of the most favored staff, recommending me for promotion. This was someone that everybody saw as "wicked" and feared by staff. She could shout to people anyhow and woe to you if you fail to balance your investment account after close of business.
When an opportunity came for someone to be recommended for a new project, she didn't waste time and put me forward. It was not that I was not good on my job, but I needed to build good relationship with her to help my career. In life and in corporate world, your boss can determine the trajectory of your growth. You must manage the person and play to his/her sentiments and massage ego.
But you must know your job and be dedicated. Adding interpersonal relationship and managing difficult bosses are just the icing on the cake. I am sure you must have read the 48 laws of power and mastered the lessons thoroughly especially the chapter on " Never outshine the Master". You must be an ardent student of "office politics". |
