TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by SamReinvented:
Hello to the gurus here. This will be my very first time of applying for an SA visa. To avert the risk of "documents-choking", I'd like to clarify if South Africa refuses visit visa based on "home ties" like western countries do. If I have my funds and my hotel booking and flight reservation and every other document to clarify my purpose of visit, do I need to attach my property documents? I've read several pages from this thread and it seems they don't refuse based on home ties...It seems that unless you have questionable funds or documents, the visa applications do scale through. But, make I no shoot myself in the leg, I wish to clarify that. Biko, answer.

Hello everyone,

Came here to appreciate you guys. I applied 28th May, got my PPR on 28th September. Visa now in my hand... valid for 2 years (till my passport expires). You guys have been great! Jawa thank you!

The visa is no longer useful this year though. Summer holiday is over, and I can't freeze my brain in Canada during Christmas holiday either (EU has that covered cool ). So Canada will have me as a guest in 2018 summer . Whoop!

You too refused to submit transcripts and SOP at your own peril? @Austinpee4, lol. Congrats!! And how comes you did biometric twice? I suggested the other day that CIC can make you do biometrics twice if the first one was not good. The same person said it was not possible and even if it were, they won't tell you to do it at the same time with medicals. It's CIC you are dealing with bro!
Gosh! Dude let it rest. Ahn ahn.

TravelRe: Information About Sweden Visa by SamReinvented: 7:20pm On Sep 08, 2017
Hello everyone.

I want to apply for a swedish visit visa, towards the Christmas holiday. I've read the thread from the beginning, but there's not so much information that I can just digest and keep quiet. Please, I'll like to know:

1. What amount do I need in my account balance for approximately one week vacation?
2. I heard someone talk about online application, but I can't seem to find a portal for that. I'll appreciate a link.
3. Do I need to make an interview appointment? Or all I need is just to submit my documents at the vfs and wait for decision?

I'll appreciate helpful replies to these questions. Thanks smiley smiley.

Huh? The 28th of May was a Sunday, so does that mean the vfs accepted applications on that day? That's really inappropriate to the best of my understanding pals!
Vfs doesn't accept apps on Sunday, but people can submit their online app on anyday of the week.

I provided the first bank statement and there was reasonable sum in there enough to see me through my whole course and I did the first biometrics in Lagos
It is very very unlikely for Cic to ask you to do biometrics again for the same application. I doubt this has ever happened before to anyone. Best bet is; your application has been refused and your agent is reapplying without telling you.

If you know what's good for you, collect your info from your agent and check things out for yourself, before he ruins everything for you. Just pray there's no misrepresentation issue or other complications with the refusal.

This Alikote needs to be banned. Seems he likes to initiate the same arguments over and over. And he does it, trying to abuse and denigrate other people. It's not cool. Do your business in peace, and let other people do their investment in peace. Don't make life unnecessarily hard for yourself.

For real shocked you got 2003 Honda Accord EOD for less than 1.6m? Wehdone sa, you need to stop joking here, if you can't afford the price given try negotiate and not run down the dealer.
And if it is true that you got it cheaper, try make sure you are not being sold a lemon, trust me I have experience.
You need to stop throwing accusations around. I'm not trying to run down anyone's business. Yes, I got it priced to 1.5m last week. When I found this thread, I was thinking I'd get a better bargain, before proceeding with purchase.

TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by SamReinvented: 2:27pm On Jun 20, 2017
Based on the evidences on this thread, VOs don't grant visas to attend conferences that have already ended before visa processing is concluded. That's a ground for refusal in itself. Your app submission was quite late though. Why? If there was a genuine reason for the late submission, you should've bombarded them with emails, to plead for a faster processing. A lady here did that and got her visa within few weeks.

Wishing you all the best though.

Hi samreinvented, sadly i think development plays a very key role in this regard. Nigeria is one of the three underdeveloped countries that travel and migrate the most. the others are india and pakistan which technically are same people. If your country is developed, you would want to tavel to other places less often. And when you travel, its usually to less developed places.
It is true Nigerians are dubious and flout visa rules but that is not the only reason. If your country is interesting, why would you go somewhere else?
This is my opinion.
I respect your opinion, but I still feel we are facing all of this, purely because of the reputation Nigerians have given us. It wasnt always like this. My parents travelled in those days, when Nigeria was not close to development, they didn't face hassles. Cameroon down there, is much less developed than Nigeria, yet people get their visa within few days to two weeks and no wahala. Ghana used to be that way too, until Nigerians started using Ghanaian passports to apply for visa (and Ghanaians also developed their own criminal tendencies). If it is because of the population of travellers, China has the largest number of tourists/travellers in the world (and it is not a developed country too), yet people in China get their visas in days without issues. If you asked me, the reputation of Nigerians abroad is what led to the increased difficulty of securing visas. Even South Africa down there has been making visa difficult, owing to the infamous Nigerian criminal reputation in South Africa. Our people need to start doing better. It's ridiculous.

Their country their rules. Ironically most of these shii won't apply to us, if Nigeria was developed. I watched a program the other day, the african-american woman was coming from the US to marry a man in Canada that she only knew online, as in they haven't physically met but she was allowed into Canada. But if it were Nigeria hmm!
Has nothing to do with development. This wouldn't apply us if Nigerians weren't notorious for being dubious, deceptive, blatantly violating visa conditions, and just being plain criminals. If this is what they have to do, to filter out the bad eggs, well don't blame them. It's sad, but then again, through these strict measures, our reputation abroad has been steadily improving in the past years. So I guess, it's kinda win-win for the upright Nigerians afterall

Hi SamReinvented, please make your letter concise and straight to the point. state your application ID as part of the subject for easier tracking. introduce yourself properly and go straight to the modifications you request. you can also attach the document as evidence. don't stress or lose sleep over this as your application cannot be refused because of it. it is a minor error and a VO would understand.
Best of luck.
Thank you very much Jawa. I appreciate it

thanks a lot for your replies. As regards the attachment in the mail; should it be just the SOP and LOE, containing the mistake? Or along with the other documents that I merged with them, in their respective upload columns?

Thanks again.
@Awelekiti and @Jawa, please what do you advise? I'm waiting on your reply before I send the e-mail. Thank you.

Hello bro, can you help with those templates? As for your questions I think that's a minor error.
There's nothing special about it. It's a personalized template that I use for my visa letters. If you want a proper template, I'd advice you head to the first page of the current student visa thread, samples are posted there to guide applicants.

Have it corrected asap and send them an email, attaching the corrected docs. To err is human. I and colleague had made worse mistakes in the past. What we simply did was send them mail alongside the corrected docs. Amazingly, the CIC too often makes costly mistakes on visa stickers...typo errors, swapping applicants' docs, etc. Don't fret, pls.
Jawa:
Dear SamReinvented, as advised by Awelekiti, you can send correction email to lagos.immigration@international.gc.ca and accra.immigration@international.gc.ca but dont lose sleep over this, it is indeed minor and your application will not be refused for it. major errors are mostly when it comes to an applicants DOB or issues about criminal history.best of luck

Hello bro you got nothing to worry about basically alot of peeps make such error and the VO is also aware of this.

So got nothing to worry about once all your documents warrant a visa they will ask you about that.

Enjoy
I pray so o. Waiting for the inputs of the others in the house.
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by SamReinvented: 2:33pm On Jun 03, 2017
Hello gurus.

I just realized a "minor" mistake in my application, whilst I was going through the documents I submitted. In my SOP and LOE, I wrote 2016, instead of 2017, for the date of my travel. This is due to the fact, I used the letter that I wrote for the visa application of my vacation last year as a template. I changed the dates and months but apparently, the year skipped my sight. The other documents (application form, hotel bookings, flight reservation) all carry 2017, just the SOP and LOE. Should I be worried? If yes, how can I correct this in time, before it causes any problems?
