Hello house,

Have been trying to pay my IHS fee equivalent to $1836 with my GTB mastercard but all to no avail.

I linked my GTB card to Paga and also tried paying but it keeps bouncing back.

I need your assistance.

-----------Below is the error page screen----------------

Thanks.
I said it not long ago that there’s a cap of 500k per online transaction on all naira cards. So if you’re linking your card to pay above that limit in one go, it would fail. It’d be better to fund your Paga wallet first (paying in bits within the limit) and then paying your ihs directly from your Paga wallet. Try that.

You keep talking rubbish. What makes you think you are buying low at the moment? Are you God? It’s all speculation and NOBODY knows what direction these currencies will go. Anyone that claims to know is a fraudster. Did anyone predict that GBP will ever break 1.300 in 2020? During this COVID pandemic? If the UK reaches a deal with the EU, expect to see further GBP gains. I repeat, I am not giving anyone investment advice. Just my thoughts. Run along abeg.
Yes sir. Running along now.

I don't think it will take another 4 to 5 years for the naira to feel more heat.
Maybe, maybe not. It depends. With Dangote refinery alone, there would be huge drop in FX demand, due to drop in petrol import and a consequent big influx of FX from his exports. Now, BUA has also announced the commencement of another huge refinery. The catch word in the business sector right now is “manufacturing and export“... and with our follow follow mentality, I kinda see a lot of others in the private sector diverting towards exports in the coming years, unless Buhari government issues out another shitty policy to ruin the excitement.

I’m not betting on anything sha, as this is Nigeria afterall. Making such predictions is pointless. But one thing I can tell is, the pressure on the naira has gone full cycle for now. Nothing interesting would happen again for a while.

But hey, I might just be saying nonsense. Anyone that disagrees can buy their FX in peace ooo. grin grin

You are God that you know the GBP is at its peak and the USD at its lowest point. Right? Just listen to yourself. Please shut the hell up if you have nothing to say and mind you, I never gave anyone investment advice.
Investment 101: Always buy low, and sell high

A good investment advice would be to tell people to buy USD now that it is weak, and sell GBP which is on a high rate. But you are saying the opposite. Anyway, do you, my friend. smiley smiley smiley. Na you get your money. Lol.

I really don’t like to comment on threads, as I prefer to just observe. But... I wanted to do something for humanity today. grin grin cheesy

For those who have ears, you really should listen to awesomej and sell your dollars if you still have some right now at this late hour. The price is gonna balance with the official rate soon.

I don’t need anyone to believe me or counter me. Na just advice I dey give. I already made my own buck. Converted all my naira savings/investments to USD at 370 back in March when I felt the pressure coming. I converted all of them back to naira at 470 immediately they announced opening of the international airport (As I knew BDC would have to open to retailers). I have successfully dodged the bullet of devaluation and inflation and even gained a lot. If you are still holding dollars, OYO is your case o, unless you’re willing to wait another 4 to 5 years, when something drastic would happen and there’d be pressure again on the currency.

Okay, bye for now.

I am not for speculation o but GBP at the moment is the currency to place your bet on if you are risk averse. USD is overrated undecided
You want people to invest in GBP that’s currently at a peak, and avoid USD which is currently at a weak level? Lol. What an investment advice.

Lol thanks. Because I tried to create a rapport immediately we started the session. Just basic stuff like how she's staying safe during this period and hope the application backlog isn't exhausting. We had a chat for about a minute before commencing the interview proper.

At the end of the day, the consular's are human like you and I, you just need to talk to them like you're talking to a friend you haven't seen in a while.
This is very dangerous actually and may work against an applicant. If you’re going to have a rapport with a visa officer, let them be the one to initiate that level of closeness and not you. In most cases, when you initiate the rapport, the visa officer would play along, but they’ve misinterpreted what you did: some would think you’re trying to gain favours, while some may also think you’re invading their privacy. When you’re Nigerian, the odds are even more against you... due to the “corruption” stereotype.

To be on the safe side, always keep it professional. Atleast until THEY make that switch. Just my 2 cents sha.

Select Paga Verve.
Enter your name, phone number and email.
NB: If you have registered on Paga with ur phone number, pls do not use that phone number. The phone number is linked to your Paga account and as such the system will try to pick the fund from the Paga account associated with your phone number, hence the transaction will fail except if you have money in that Paga account.
In summary, If you have registered on Paga with ur phone number before, just use another phone number instead.
Type the details of the card and it will work.

I paid for IHS with my First Bank Verve Card and Visa with my sister's Access Verve Card and it went smoothly.
I just want to chip in that all Nigerian naira cards have limit of 500k for online payment (not monthly or daily limit, just per transaction limit). So if your ihs is more than that equivalent, the transaction would fail if you pay directly from your card. In this case, it would actually be best to fund your Paga account with enough money beforehand and let the system draw the payment from your Paga account instead.

There are a tone of such returnees in Nigeria too. If you haven’t been seeing them, you’re probably living in a village.
PoliticsRe: Ilorin City Vs Abeokuta City: Which One Is More Beautiful? by SamReinvented: 9:01pm On May 06, 2020
I've been to both cities, and there's really no comparison. Ilorin is far ahead of Abeokuta in terms of development. Infrastructures are present and well maintained, social amenities are available, the beauty factor is also present and the structures in Ilorin are very modern.

Abeokuta, is basically a village in comparison. It's also much smaller (both in terms of population and area). There's really no comparison, really.
PropertiesRe: Please How Good Is Skyrun Refrigerator by SamReinvented: 12:23am On May 05, 2020
Skyrun is a good brand. They are made in Nigeria for Nigerian power situations, so they tend to remain cold for a very long period without power. Also, if you live in a major city, there's a high chance that they have an official aftersales service centre where you can get support after you've bought their products. The warranty is also there. So Skyrun is not a bad choice, if that's what you want.

Hello all,

I want to invite my mum over for omugwo, as my girlfriend will be giving birth very soon here in Germany. Now I want to ask if i apply for a schengen visit visa for say 2 weeks. Is it likely they issue her the standard 90days visa or they will give her the number of days she claim She wants to spend.

I already got a guarantor's form from the Aliens authority in my City, and on this form is written that my mom can stay for a duration of 90 days but my fear is the german embassy in Nigeria might not give her up to 90 days as she has claimed in her application that she only wants to spend 2 weeks.

What can I do to secure a longer duration cos I heard they sometimes give 10days, 21 days etc and not 90 days which is standard. And I'm afraid if she tells them she's coming for omugwo, they might reject.
If it’s her first schengen visa they’d most likely issue exactly what she applied for. Even if it’s not her first, it’s not guaranteed that she’d get an extended validity either. So have that at the back of your mind. If she’s retired, you might as well just input 30 days as the duration of stay. There’s no issue.

Hello,

Why is there no one coming back to give testimonies about your services? I think you should advise successful clients to come back to Nairaland to testify. It would add more to your credibility. If people are already doing that, edit one of your posts on the first page and link those testimonies for people to go through. It’s very important.

With that said, I want to know the total amount I would get 2008/2009/2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser. I want to know the price for each of those years so I can match the price with their features and make my decision.

Thank you.

All of these images is a facade. Google “Cape Town townships” and check out the images. That’s the kinda area that the majority of South Africans live. The people attacking other Africans live in those areas, not these touristy places. Don’t be deceived.
TravelRe: Please Help. Turkish Airlines In Instanbul Wont Let Me Go To School by SamReinvented: 7:48pm On Oct 30, 2019
Nothing concerns your school and airline.

What the airline is concerned about is the validity of your entry permit (in this case I assume, your student visa).

In all of these talk... you didn’t mention anything about your visa. Do you even have one? Is it valid or they’ve already broken the news to you that it’s a fake visa? Are you the latest victim of scam agents?

Coming out clean is the only thing that can make us help you here

In some countries in Europe, most restaurant close on less rush hours mostly before and after lunch (lunch is 12pm - 2pm) and reopen later in the evening, so it might also be that or as you said.
It was as I said. It was a fast food restaurant, not the dining type restaurant.
TravelRe: Kindly Share Any Form Of Racism You Have Faced As An African Abroad by SamReinvented: 4:44pm On Oct 26, 2019
On a vacation to San Sebastián in Spain, myself and some Indian and Latino friends went to this restaurant and we were told that they have closed.

We carried ourselves to a different restaurant and about an hour later on our way back, the first restaurant was still very open serving guests.

Then it dawned on us. We’ve just become the latest victims of racism. It was my very first time... it didn’t feel good. I can imagine what it’d feel like to be faced with that 2 or 3 times in a month.

If you’re going for a visit, just get another invitation letter and go to the interview in January . If you’re going for a time-sensitive business, then the German company that is inviting you will be the one to lobby for an earlier date. They know how they do it.

It eventually got reflected. Took the same time as card subscription. I’m just going to stick with that, since it is more straightforward. I thought the transfer was really faster, as they claim.

Hi everyone. So I have always topped up my mmf account through card transaction on my portal. Yesterday, I decided to do a bank transfer instead, using my e-account details as description of the transfer, as they instructed. However, I still haven’t seen that reflected on my asset management portal. I thought this transfer is supposed to be a very fast way to top up? So what is going on?

Thanks.
That is exactly what I did, i booked and the institution sent mail on my behalf to request for an earlier appointment date.

Also the 3 names on d form are the same as on my passport, just that when I checked the form well there is no (middle name ) rather (former surname). So I'm kind of confused because I have middle name and not former surname.

To be on the safe side, can I fill another application form to use and forget the former?
Alright, then you’d have to wait till they respond.

The given name column is supposed to contain your name as it is on your passport. The given name on Nigerian passports always shows the first name and middle name. That’s how you should put it on the form. If you have no former name, that place should be blank on the form. So, if there’s a mistake, fill another form.
