menstrualpad:One minute you quoted power generation of 5,000 Megawatts, claiming it's true. I slapped you with the obvious and you turned around saying you don't argue over politicians, even while asking me to put up Jonathan's and Buhari’s campaign promises to compare. And you don't argue over politicians. It seems you were born yesterday. |
menstrualpad:I figured, judging by your sobriquet. Just so you know, this is not an argument about politicians but facts. We are not all dummies, you know? Buhari is a huge failure, no doubt. Jonathan, well, the greater failure between the duo. Take that to the bank. |
menstrualpad:Same story. Leadership wise, the PDP and the APC are not the same. |
menstrualpad:Our highest power generation ever is 4,600 Megawatts. I understand Makati must stay relevant as he is being shoved aside, but peddling lies and falsehood just to drive home nothing? If someone reads through this crazy release now, one would think Jonathan provided the country with 5k Megawatts all through his 6 years administration, when in reality, it is false. |
The 'victory' over Boko Haram is as a result of the armaments bought during the tenure of Jonathan but the recession is caused by the APC-led administration. Idiots. Can KOWA or Hope just play oppositions already. The PDP still thinks it is relevant. Perhaps, the crazy power tussle in the PDP can also be ascribed to the APC-led administration. |
The Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described President Muhammadu Buhari’s claims in his Easter message, to having met the expectations of Nigerians as an insult on their intelligence.http://guardian.ng/news/buharis-success-claim-insult-to-intelligence-of-nigerians-says-pdp/ |
optional1:Today is Easter Sunday. Be noble and true enough to deactivate as you claimed. |
Interesting piece, Matty. The word for chief in Yoruba is 'Oloye' and not Olorogun. However, you are very correct about Olorogun being of Yoruba origin. My Yoruba is sound enough to transliterate Olorogun as 'someone of rivalry' or 'owner of rivalry' (oni+orogun). Quite frankly, the transliteration above is far from the original meaning of the word itself. Oloroguns are of Ife/Oyo origin. They are special kinds of chiefs that tend to act as judges which specialize in settling minor disputes within their quarters. Perhaps dispute settler or something. Olorogun, also known as 'Ologun', is a member of a social class of warriors in Yoruba land. In reality, the Olorogun overshadows the Ogbeni. An Ologun or Olorogun usually wears an unusually long cap. What I don't understand is why an Urhobo speaking part is called 'Orogun'. According to the Yorubas, someone who comes from such a place would called Olorogun, but then, it does not explain how the likes of Michael Ibru got his name. I really don't know much in this aspect. Perhaps he was given this title in Lagos, having spent most of his life there, I'm not sure. Though it is on record that the Old Benin dynasty came in contact with Yorubas from Ilé-Ifẹ̀ and also some during Benin's invasion on Lagos. |

BiafranBushBoy:I consider the N word derogatory. That said, it took you long enough to respond. I wish you know how you sounded with these words. One minute, you asked for 'deep research', the next minute, you asked for his personal biography. Funny. Just so you know, www.biography.com is the world's largest and most trusted biography website. Since you didn't realize, I guess that means one thing. Oh well... Again, help yourself: http://www.biography.com/people/colonel-harland-sanders-12353545 |
The assailants were said to have invaded the residence at about 12 am, shooting sporadically into the building.I'm not understanding, please? ![]() |
Someone please tell me that is not the said Dino's house that was attacked by hired assassins? ![]() |
BiafranBushBoy:Deep research, you say? Perhaps you don't even know that the true story of Colonel Harland Sanders is far more crazier than the bland stories circulating the media. This is enough research for you; http://www.biography.com/people/colonel-harland-sanders-12353545 http://www.theverge.com/2016/7/5/12096466/colonel-sanders-kfc-meme-life-story http://www.history.com/news/hungry-history/8-things-you-may-not-know-about-the-real-colonel-sanders And who counted the number of times Edison failed? Sorry, science is basically exaggeration and I don't do exaggeration. |
BiafranBushBoy:Wrong! Your assertion is totally false. He was indeed broke and started in a humble, but innovative way. His life story is not 'just speculation'. I think you should devote time into reading about Harland Sanders. |
As much as football tries to beat down Racism, it does not take away the fact most European countries are racists. I wonder what would have been said about Bale if he was of Nigerian origin. Mynd44 Lalasticlala |

Nwakaumu:Ask yourself, are the 'Biafrian states' any better? Onitsha and Abia are considered as slums by the United Nations and Onitsha is described as the city with the world's worst air. My point exactly? The entire country is not doing well, save for a state or two and this has nothing to do with blind sentiments. Perhaps you want to tell me the world declared war on Onitsha and Abia state to make them unsafe and unhealthy for humans? Until we get our priorities right, we'll keep running in circles. |
eagleeye2:It would, but trust me, it is not in any way close. A perfect example is seeing people take sides by laying their lives for corrupt public officials all in the name of party or interest. We are yet to understand how to hold officials accountable for their deeds and actions and this only indicate how we are not yet ready. I believe my signature says a whole lot on the power of one voice. The day we learn to use it, the day we advance as a people. |
Nwakaumu:The great War chief. I know you are planning a full scale invasion and destruction on Nigeria. The irony of this would be to cry for help when, God forbid, it happens. Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. I hope you put that at the back of your mind as you map out your full scale global destruction. |
eagleeye2:We don't need them to agree. The main reason they have been unfazed about restructuring is because we have not come out as one to voice out on this. Every region in this country is blessed, regardless, and we just have to look for a better way to making sense out of the madness we call democracy. |
Team News Real Madrid - Gareth Bale has suffered an ankle injury would miss the team's weekend clash against Sporting. The Welshman might miss the return leg at the Santiago if he fails to recover in time. - Pepe and Varane remain unavailable for the Spanish giant after failing to recover in time for the second leg in Spain. - Zidane has announced that Isco would start in place of Bale, following his best ever performance against Sporting Gijon at the weekend. Bayern Munich - Robert Lewandowski would feature in the return leg at the Santiago. This should be a huge boost to the German side. - More bad news trail the team as defender Jerome Boateng has been confirmed injured. He now joins the likes of Matt Hummels and on the sidelines. - Fabian Benko and Niklas Dorsch remain sidelined too. |
Seeing these pictures ALWAYS take my mind to JP Clark's 'The Casualties'. Nigeria seemed the victor but the entire country pays today. Even after the collapse of the Aburi Accord, Ojukwu could have avoided the war but he could not as his motive was purely political. Most people don't even know what was contained in the Accord, yet, you see them say Gowon didn't honour the Accord from his end. Aburi accord is as follows:Truth is, the Accord had been agreed upon by all parties present, but its demands were much sensible, save for the number three which had not favoured Ojukwu, hence, the need to 'restart' the said decrees. Gowon prolly never understood what he signed until he returned to Nigeria and while Ojukwu was hell bent on seeing that the Accord was upheld, he never had prior plans for the war, save for tension everywhere and rumours of an eventual war which had settled most areas. It explains why the aftermath was too devastating, particularly towards the children from the Eastern Region. The interesting part here is, Ojukwu had a fair amount of food supply. And rather than ration the food among the people, particularly the children, the Eastern Military top officials at the time had more than enough for themselves and their families, just as Ojukwu. 'Personal stack-ups' didn't happen until the Nigerian government captured oil facilities in Port Harcourt. And with the leaked photographs of starving children, the international communities could not help but wade into the sad experience by sending relief items, which clearly didn't do much. In reality, the war was more important to Ojukwu than the welfare of the people he governed at the time. The war should have ended the moment Port Harcourt was blocked, but no, it continued for almost two more years, leading to massive deaths by starvation. The rest of the story, we all know. Oil remains a curse to Nigeria. Had it not been found or discovered, there would have been no war in the first place. And for those choosing death or biafra, I'd suggest you take some time to see the several videos on YouTube. PS: Biafra, till date, remains a political tool, just like it was back then. Our call should be something much more similar but sophisticated than the Aburi Accord - True Federalism and Resource Control. Until then, we might just be running in a vicious cycle. In the end, we all remained casualties. |
holluwai:People tried defending him. I honestly don't like him but his apology is sincere. I believe you should look up the word in the dictionary. By all standard, Efe is a celebrity and you just have to live with it. |
dani1luv:Your response on the other thread. Why then is he apologizing? Truth is, Efe should choose his handlers carefully so as not to lose his fan base. |
BeeBeeOoh: ![]() Lol! The Ballon d'Or is about 50% certain at this time, all thanks to the century mark. If we complete the riot on Tuesday, then there's no stopping Real for the dozen. The La Liga pressure has eased now, particularly after Barcelona's loss, and with a game still at hand, the el Clasico might not do much as it is a must win for Barce. Unfortunately, the Barce team is heavily disadvantaged as Neymar would be missing due to suspension. And with that horrible back line, the BBC might have a field day even though Barcelona would respond to goals. All I want him to do come Tuesday is do a brace against Bayern, if possible, an hat-trick. As it stands, there is no stopping the centurion. Just call him legend ![]()

Omagago:That is stupidity, if you ask me. Even the white folks he is trying to imitate would either catch the scorpion and set if free far from their homes or simply keep it as a pet. It's like seeing a cobra feeding on a bullfrog and then you snap the rare scene, walk away and come on here to post it, claiming you don't want to disturb nature, when in reality, all these happened just beside your house. In the end, nature would disturb you, that's the implication. Only about 25 of the 1,500 known species of scorpions can deliver stings that are fatal to humans. And most of these potentially lethal scorpions can't kill healthy adults, although their neurotoxins can cause such troubling symptoms as convulsions and shortness of breath. In most cases, the non lethal sting of some scorpions are capable of causing asphyxia which leads to death. It is noble he that he did not 'disturb' nature but it is stupidity walking away from the scene just like that since it is close to his house. OP, just be on the lookout. Keep sachets of sugary things away from your premises henceforth, particularly crushed sugar cane stalks and seasoning wrappers. This big scorpion is capable of killing as opposed to the tiny ones around. You don buy market. |

Criistiano Ronaldo scored twice in the second half to lead Real Madrid to a 2-1 win at Bayern Munich in UEFA Champions League quarterfinal play on Wednesday. Bayern Munich couldn't overcome a missed penalty kick and had to finish a man down as Javi Martinez was sent off in the 61st minute. He had two yellow cards in rapid succession in the second half and his second, for a reckless foul, comes with the red. Midfielder Arturo Vidal put Bayern ahead early with a goal in the 25th minute. He also squandered a chance to double the lead when he missed a penalty kick late in the first half. Bayern have been handed a seemingly difficult but possible task at the Santiago. |
