ogawisdom:Phobia knows no age. We all have one or more phobias we battle with. OP, it has nothing to do with the horror movie. As a matter of fact, the movie you watched only triggered the phobia. You should see a psychologist and also speak to a medical doctor. Quite frankly, your husband does not understand that you're suffering from Somniphobia. I suggest you ask him to go with you to see a medical doctor to ascertain the status of your health. That way, he would understand the gravity of what you're battling with. It's quite surprising he didn't know this before you guys got married. |
fortuneobi:That's the problem. Globacom believes the endorsements help with figures. There is nothing anyone can do about it because Glo as a brand does not see the many endorsements as waste. |
marshalcarter:It is just about food and feeding for some of you. What a people! ![]() |
mercichoco:Before you disgrace yourselves as a result of stark bigotry, why not share what that part of the constitution says. ![]() |
Globacom have been having issues powering some of their site generators. I guess it is as a result of the recession. Truth is, BTS sites with lower profit flow are not regularly powered to cut cost. The sites would come back on, I believe but then it would be fluctuating. |
SalamRushdie:He does not necessarily need to sell out like the NLC. I sense pressure for God-knows-where. Unfortunately, this is just about the best we could have gotten as far as protests are concerned. He has successfully scarred people with this cancelation. |
For some reasons, 2Face seems to have been pressured to give up this cause. The excuse does not hold water one bit ![]() |
2Face has taken to Instagram to announce the cancelation of the much anticipated protest on the 6th of February, through a video he released not quite long. According to him, concerns for public safety is paramount. His words read: 'Dear Nigerians!!! Due to security concerns and public safety considerations. I hereby announce the cancelation of the planned March.' https://www.instagram.com/p/BQGwpwMDM-K/?r=wa1

“There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells him it is right.” ― Martin Luther King Jr. I read MLK's quote above repeatedly before choosing to induct it into this very piece which prompted by those who have had mixed feelings about the forthcoming protest which might determine the way forward at the long run. [b]IS THIS REALLY THE RIGHT TIME TO PROTEST? To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: (Ecclesiastes 3: 1 ). In the wake of 2012, most Lagosians took to the Gani Fawehinmi Park, aka Freedom Park to protest the mishap and insensitivity exhibited by the then President, Goodluck Jonathan of the dying PDP. The protest introduced the presence politicians and top Nigerian entertainment powerhouses at the park. Pastor Tunde Bakare was not left out of the protest-turned carnival which saw him rain curses on Jonathan. I was equally present at the park as it was just a distance away from my house. It was a sight seeing Tunde Bakare pleading migraine on Goodluck Jonathan just as Elijah did on the sons of the prophets in the Bible. It did not take long for us to forget why we went there in the first place as musicians entertained the angry crowd who almost grinded Lagos to halt. Jonathan, on the other hand hand, became scared the protest might take a different turn and soldiers were deployed around the Ketu-Ojota axis to prevent people from their early morning entertainment in the guise of a protest. And the brain behind the protest then? Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu did not grace the venue like we did but his TVC went live with the broadcast night and day while the prime time news was dedicated to a repeat of the event which went down during the day. Well, the PDP had been in power long enough, yet she showed no signs of making the lives of Nigerians better. Rather, Nigerians became fed up of the impunity of a weak president who had 'other female presidents', according to former President, Olusegun Obasanjo. He was right though, Nigerians were tired and then came a serial loser who promised 'Change', with the promise of increasing the living conditions of Nigerians. The promises were too good to ignore this time; Asiwaju indeed perfected the art on this one as the social media the PDP embraced to run a government of propaganda became the saving grace for the APC whom Nigerians believed in. IN WHICH AREAS DID THE APC AND BUHARI FAIL? 1. On Insurgency: Though the President promised to 'wipe out' Boko Haram, while using the Maitatsine of the 1980 event as its proven record against insurgency. The Presidency and the APC has successfully tamed the Boko Haram to the barest minimum, but has failed woefully to curb insurgency. Fulani Herdsmen have been on rampage more than ever since this administration was sworn in, and it is not only shocking to know that the President is unmoved by their acts, but also jaw dropping, to see the APC and the President turn a blind eye to their activities. We were promised otherwise. 2. On Corruption: Last year, former British Prime Minister was recorded to be telling the Queen of England that Nigerian politicians are fantastically corrupt. Interestingly, the President agreed with him, despite the many controversies trailing his family. More importantly, the anti-corruption campaign was what the President rode on like an eagle, which caused almost every part of the country to deliver their vote to him, hoping he could reveal the rot in the government. Unfortunately, corrupt and controversial practices within the government have been overlooked, with little or no effort at correcting them. Ironically, the president spent almost a year without ministers just because he was looking for angels to govern with him. His angels have never been devoid of controversies, even till date. 3. On Power: I could remember the campaign promises of the APC, particularly on power. I can't remember the last time I saw an EEDC power hanging from my bulbs for over two weeks now. I spend heavily on fuel just because I can't stand heat much. Power has been far worse than Buhari inherited it. 4. On Security of Lives and Properties: I chose not to lump this with that of insurgency even if they mean one and the same thing. I must also not that Nigerians have never been threatened by a group of people and the presidency/government of the day would turn a blind eye. Raging herdsmen destroy properties numbering in their millions without recourse. Should you voice out, you become a specimen for the papers/media at dawn. Ekiti, Enugu, Benue, Ondo, Lagos, Anambra, Imo, PH, Jos, etc., we have never been insecure in our lives, yet, we have a president who rode on this to win an election. Need I mention cost of living, the ever falling Naira against the Dollar, the height of rot and corruption within the CBN who trade the Dollar to some selected few for N23, while Forex is not made available to those who need them the most? How about ethnic chauvinism, tribal and religious sentiments, coupled with the readily available intimidation of security agencies should anyone speak up? We voted this government and it is surprising to see that it has not fulfilled 5% of its campaign promises. Let's all have an open mind towards this and genuienly ask ourselves whether or not we should stage a protest, sponsored by this horrible government or not. On my part, should anyone ask me if Nigerians and well meaning citizens should protest come Monday, February 6th, 2017, my answer would be YES! IT IS LONG OVERDUE Sanchez01

belovedsamex:Women would always be women. Generally, they are not on the same level as men. Their level of reasoning and approach to issues might not correspond to that of the opposite sex, but then, it does not take away the fact that our approach should differ from theirs. That lady might have been cheeky but it still does not warrant an attempt at taking her life. While they crave equality, would you readily strike a fellow male just because you two got involved in a heated conversation? Think about it. |
belovedsamex:So you advocate battery in females ![]() |
[s] maclatunji:[/s] The protest is long overdue. Most people fool around than 2Face in their daily lives. He was a near perfect man, not until he showed signs of championing the protest. He immediately became an object of ridicule in the hands of the APC. Tinubu, Buhari, Oyegun and other staunch APC politicians all protested against a sitting president and Buhari came as the false messianic liar that he is, just as your emboldened. You are in the class of those I would gladly call 'Ekpa' in Urhobo. We made a huge mistake with the man called Buhari. By the way, did you ever at any point ask what 2Face would gain from all these? Except power is constant in your house 24/7, except you shop internationally while you're charged 205/210/dollar, except you still buy the PMS at 97/litre, and except prices of foods remain the same in your locality, then I'd advise you sit out while those that are pained and terribly affected come out to make their grievances known against this tyrannical government. |
shiimah:That you grew up in a home where women are objects of ridicule does not mean every other person did. I hope you understand. Most of you a messed up on every side. |
UncleJudax:Teenager, adult, what difference does it make Does the age group justify why a woman should be treated in such a demeaning manner![]() |
Israeljones:SMH... I just hope a teenager is not behind this senseless assertion. |
AlwaysUltraPad:They know the moment you don't speak Igbo. It's not that difficult. About extortion... My then CDS co-ordinator once said 'an Igbo man would readily cheat his father'. I found this out in the most difficult way. Interestingly, I didn't experience this until recently. I had customers in the market who were quite fair in their dealings. Again, we all have tribal stereotypes and most of them are quite true to an extent. |
AlwaysUltraPad:It's not as horrible as this. Most of those who exhibit these shallow thoughts are those who have never crossed the River Niger bridge. It applies to most people who have never left their territories. |
carzola:I can relate with all what they laid out, and quite frankly, I have come to discover that psychological attack is far worse than physical. That's all there is to it when dealing with some SE folks who think the world revolves around them. During my service year, I encountered some staunch, unrepetant, hostile Igbo folks who see everyone who is not Igbo as Yoruba. It is that bad. However, I have some pretty fascinating neighbours, who, though are Igbo, are just about the nicest people you would ever come across. Most of those who segregate and drum the beats of consciousness into the very ear among Igbo folks are more than those who are welcoming. Truth is, NO TRIBE IS EXEMPTED FROM THIS. JUST AS SOME OF MY FRIENDS RECOUNTED THEIR ORDEAL IN DELTA STATE WAY BACK. |
Love Machine:Did America at some point colonize Nigeria? |
vanbonattel:Unfortunately, no Igbo governor has anything close to Fayose's gut, yet you guys call some persons cowards. You need some Igbo politicians to join the APC to 'chop' the money, yet you guys hate Ngige and Rochas with passion. Your eggs have never been in one basket, they've all been scattered but you guys are fast playing to the gallery of the APC. In time, Igbos would pledge their sweats and blood for the APC, while they would brand other parties as inferior just because all their politicians who double as greedy lots just as most Nigerian politicians, crossed shamelessly to a party the masses are fed up with. You have chosen to console yourself just as you guys did when Kanu was caught, and many agitators said it was the grand plan of Kanu to crumble Nigeria. Now you're on the same path again while these guys loot for their families. I wonder who you would fight against in three months time, the APC, a party that has successfully destroyed the country with blind policies, filled with greedy Igbo leaders, just as Yoruba leaders, or the PDP, who ruled Nigeria for 16 years but chose to pride itself in corruption and shameless cross carpeting. What on God's earth happened to your homegrown political party? |
vanbonattel:You think this is playing smart? Jumping because of a sitting party is playing smart? The way some of you reason on behalf of your politicians clearly shows you would choose to lie to yourselves rather than each other the truth. You all kill with your words on here, yet your leaders have no issues cross-carpeting to the party you spend night and day to criticize and you call that smart? I just wish there are ten Fayoses in the PDP. |
Crazy, Senile, shameless government. |
Ishilove: ![]() That is how I did not see your brake light again. I'm sha vexing for you ![]() |
Adekamkpe23:You must have been born yesterday not to know Dede Mabiaku. |
Banks use an internet service called 'Leased Line', which means that the main bandwidth is channeled to their HQ while other locations of the bank are fed through fibre-optic/microwave radio backbone. My point is, should their carrier (provider) be affected, the entire branch of the bank would be affected, regardless of where you go. Normally, all corporate bodies have back up links. I wonder what went wrong with Zenith. |
gesundheit:Most of the names you mentioned attacked BLACKS AND CHRISTIANS IN THEIR PLACES OF WORSHIP! Why would you think they acted in the name of the Christian God to kill in churches? |
The foundational history of Islam, Ishmael is where he started from. Truth is this, I've never been prouder of being a Christian, not because of the increasing calls for blood by some Christian folks, but because more and more pastors are fast coming out to speak against a blood thirsty side. We shall defend ourselves in the wake of a brewing Insurgency. While violence won't solve a thing, self defense will. My greatest joy is that the activities of these Herdsmen and their patrons would reduce drastically now as any killing would cause an uproar. It's about time they knew the country belongs to us all. ![]() |
NgeneUkwenu:It is pretty interesting to see you disappear when the government and the Fulani community as a whole goof but would rather choose to come out to air messy opinions on someone who spoke up. Where were you when el-Rufai claimed vengeance is the Fulani way of life. Where you when a degenrated fellow in the guise of a Fulani claimed the country would be set ablaze should Buhari die in office? Truth is, your sense of reasoning may have been bashed, all thanks to the stipend you find motivation in. However, I'd tell you this is almost a fight between Christians in Nigeria, regardless of denomination and belief, and the government, alongside his Fulani kinsmen, both herdsmen and non-herdsmen. |
Man: Who are you? Woman: 'We are the marine goddess' (Then there was a sudden, slight pause. Man wanted to talk, woman wanted to do the same... Nolllywood awkward moment) Man: How are they? Woman: Two Billion TB Joshua and his people should engage Steven Spielberg for better casting, and a more believable production ![]() |
