MOBIL11: Men of little faith. Dude, with God there is nothing impossible. There is nothing bad in hoping to be called even tho the person was unsuccessful, i just couldn't understand why Faith had to be brought in it and some ppl started quoting the bible.....Working in NLNG has soooo much value only because man made it so nd not God, in all my life reading the bible, i have neva seen where faith was used in carrying out works that would lead to anythin outside salvation. anoda reason i wondered hw working in nlng is connected to salvation that faith had to b brought in it. It's always good to strive for the big fat elephant bt maybe dt lil teddy bear wt d sunglasses is already the right fit for u, MORE aint always BETTER but a typical nigerian thinks otherwise, hence religion is brought into play in everything. But that doesn't mean we dont get to thank God if we achieve somethin we hv strived for. The analogy of some successful peeps getting better offer n not showing up, giving room for unsuccessful ones is a beautiful analogy. And if that be the case we add "faith" to your hope. But before i get crucified i'm not saying its impossible, i'm saying why bring religion into something that has nothing to do with your salvation. |

debosky: To learn from - not to repeat/copy senselessly. The Israelites spent 40 years in the wilderness therefore because they did it I must go and spend 40 years in the wilderness so I can 'learn from it'. If you follow the 'principle' of Malachi (doing what the law commands) but ignore the 'principle' of wave and heave offering, you have broken all the 'principles'. Geddit? James 2:10 For the person who keeps all of the laws except one is as guilty as a person who has broken all of God's laws. Get it into your head. KEY WORD being TO LEARN... kudos bruv, some christians sha too rigid, what dey have learnt n blv cannot be changed even in the face of reasoning and later dey call it faith.... even God who created us in his likeness isnt rigid. when david and his men came back from war n were hungry dey ate the bread in the temple meant for the priest, left to some RIGID christians that would have been a sin, but God who passed that law dint see it as a sin cz reasoning would tell u it makes no sense for a man to die of hunger while bread lies fallow all in d name of its for the priest... Love supercedes the law n out of luv is d reason a hungry david could eat n nt seen sinful... Sentiments apart, public universities are way better than private universities and they have an upper hand in the labour market. Just imagine the total number of first class students a private univeRsity can produce alone in one academic year. They can be up to hundreds and majority of them will struggle to make that same first class in a public university. The OP didn't create this thread for shallow minded people. dwytomyaavimh: Good afternoon, guys. It's my first time posting here and on NL. You guys are truly awesome, I must confess. Forgive me, but I was passing through and couldn't help but notice a challenge here, the "bridge-crossing" task. I apologize for reviving it, if it means any offense; just thought i should give it a try. I'll do my best to be as explicit as possible. Recap: Audu = 1 minute (alone) Amaka = 2 minutes (alone) Adeyinka = 5 minutes (alone) Adesuwa = 7 minutes (alone) ******************HINTS*************** In addition to the clues given in the task, I made the following decisions: 1. In order to save time, Audu makes the "torch trips". This is because he is the fastest (when crossing alone). 2. Audu doesn't leave the bridge until the last trip (see my discussion for explanation). 3. One vital clue that was failed to be considered is the LENGTH OF THE BEAM OF LIGHT , which I tagged 'beam length' often times (see my discussion for explanation). 4. To analyze the hint, "If two people are crossing, they can only move at the speed of the slowest person", I'm forced to believe that the two folks don't have to be ON THE SAME LINE during the trip - that's IMHO; I stand corrected though. Bottom line, BOTH ARE ON THE BRIDGE and they spend nothing less than the expected "trip time". So, I begin: TRIP 1: AUDU and ADESUWA mount the bridge. With the torch switched on and held by AUDU, ADESUWA proceeds (obviously at his own pace) WHILE AUDU ILLUMINATES HIS PATH AS HE REMAINS MOTIONLESS until the greatest distance between them is achieved, APPROXIMATELY THE LENGTH OF THE BEAM OF LIGHT - say "X meters", where the remainder (BEAM LENGTH - DISTANCE BETWEEN THE GUYS) is bright enough to illuminate ADESUWA's path (Note: If it takes 'y' inches of beam length for the person ahead to see and move at the desired pace, please don't give 'em 'y + 0.0001' inches; remember, WE ARE TRYING TO SAVE TIME HERE!). THEN AUDU STARTS WALKING, while maintaining that distance. BOTH ARE MOVING AT "Mr. 7 mins's" pace. By the time ADESUWA hits the other end, BOTH would have spent 7 minutes, BUT AUDU REMAINS ON THE BRIDGE, X meters behind ADESUWA. AUDU THEN MAKES A RETURN TRIP, this time at his own pace. Result of trip 1: AUDU & ADESUWA spend 7min -> 7mins spent AUDU's first return trip: AUDU, now moving at his own pace, covers the return trip IN LESS THAN 1 MINUTE. Another trick: Recalling "hint 2", AUDU STOPS ON THE BRIDGE, THE DISTANCE OF THE FULL BEAM LENGTH this time around [I would have used X meters as the distance, but he ain't illuminating anyone's path on this trip ]. SO THE TIP OF THE BEAM LENGTH RESTS ON THE TIP OF THE BRIDGE . So, AUDU spends WAY LESS THAN 1min (thank God for Audu and our dear 'beam length' distance!)...and there was a cycle! Result of return trip 1: AUDU spends WAY LESS THAN 1min. -> total of less than 8mins spent (approx. 7mins **secs) TRIP 2: AUDU humbly conveys ADEYINKA IN THE SAME MANNER WITH WHICH HE DID ADESUWA, but this time both resume the journey at ADEYINKA's pace. By the time ADEYINKA arrives at the end of the bridge, both would have spent 5 minutes on the trip, but AUDU remains on the bridge, X meters behind ADEYINKA . He then makes return trip 2. Result of trip 2: AUDU & ADEYINKA SPEND 5mins -> total of less than 13mins spent (approx. 12mins **secs) Return trip 2 and its result: AUDU spends WAY LESS THAN 1min again (thanks, beam length!) -> total of less than 14mins spent (approx. 13mins **secs) TRIP 3 and its result: AUDU & AMAKA both cross at AMAKA's pace. -> total of less than 15mins (approx. 14mins **secs, sadly.) FAQs: 1. Which kyn reasoning pattern be dis? Ans: My dear, na so I see am oh! 2. I am forced to believe that you are wrong. Ans: I'm open to criticism. Thanks in advance. 3. Don't you think you over-exagerrated your estimations? Ans: Yes, i am 99% sure I did a lot of over-estimations. Until I know the beam length, I can't be more specific - sorry. IMHO, the group's conclusion would be this: Although all conditions were duly met, to the best of the "our" attempt, for the fact that we don't know the length of the beam of light and other helpful info, we can't say, for sure, if we'll spend EXACTLY "14mins **[/b]secs". It could obviously get considerably lower than that, but IT CAN NEVER GET HIGHER. Ok guys, I'll appreciate any form of criticism, comments, suggestions.... but in the absence of any post that requires my feedback, guess I'll look at Mr. airsaylongcon's "brain scratcher" at my leisure. It is note-worthy that I couldn't have made any reasonable attempt if not for those I saw on previous pages. @scarletdp, you got me ROTFLMAO at your reply to airsaylongcon's "brain scratcher". @ all prominent posters, you all have been noted. Oh people should go to bed about this abeg.. if u want to pay tithe, pay, if u dont do not, its not by force and we are not under the law of giving but giving from free will. if u go to church n u wanna freely give 5k or 100k fine, its not a must anymore, Abraham paid a tenth from the spoils of the war to melchizedek, not from all he had, and in hebrews d bible said because of levi was in his loins wen he did that, the levites where commanded under the law to collect a tenth and to even collect from d oda decendants of abraham. so if u r nt a levite or from d levetical priestly order, u have no business collecting a tenth and paul also said further that if dat priestly order ws perfect der would have bin no need for anoda, but since another had to come, so also the law has to change, noone is commanded to collect a tenth anymore, we are to give freely just as abraham did to melchizedek who is a high priest born from a tribe with no priestly lineage jst as Christ was born from a tribe of no priestly lineage... hebrew 7 vs 1-26.
today prosperity churches are turning tins upside down, and all we find in our churches today are rich people who look upon themselves as blessed and take upon dia abundance as proof of their spiritual condition, making the poor feel their deficit is also a proof of their low spiritual condition but blv me there is no correlation btw how much u serve God and how much money u must have.
Christ spoke about money during his tym but it was always with a warning, not an assurance of what u will get if u follow him.
someone tells u if u pay tithe or give God money u will get more, or if u dont u will somehow loose all u have, jeeezzzz u dont give cz u expect somethin better or cz u expect somethin of the same, u giv cz that is d right tin to do.
in gen 14 vs 22 d king wanted to give abraham the remaing 9/10 from d war bt abraham rejected it, if it ws our present time it would hv been seen as 'Oh i gave a tenth God hs given me more
and before u continue to wrongly quote malachi 3 for me 'can a man rob God'... i will leave u with this, The only human in the bible that is called our father n we r called his descendants is Abraham, but malach 3 from vs 6 says You descendants of Jacob.... and Jacob's descendants r d levites whom God commanded thru moses to also pay a tenth from the tithe dey get from the ppl of israel Numbers 18 vs 26
everyone should give jst as he has planned in his heart, not grudgingly or LAWFULLY for God loves a cheerful giver 2cor 9vs 7 |

Special thanks to d guy that posts very important info (the guy that answered 10 questions afta getting restricting instructions from HR, and d Ebola post....can't recall his username). Meanwhile, I will like to post on the riddle on crossing. One thing I will like to stress is that for every puzzle, there is sumtin to give specific attention to....in this case, the emphasis was "cross the bridge" and not necessarily every one being on the other side of the bridge at the end, hence, it is possible to cross the bridge in 12mins. Here is my analysis: Audu and Amaka cross = 2mins Audu returns to bring back torch = 1min Adeyinka and Adesuwa cross = 7mins Amaka returns to bring back torch = 2mins Total of 12minutes. I know sum1will criticise this but the truth is even though Audu and Am aka are back at the starting point point, they have crossed the bridge which is the requirement of the puzzle. My opinion and answer to the puzzle. I take a bow bosses. Dis aint tinkin outside d box, I'll say he got rid of d damn box |

Lewinskee: Going from the previous thread, during the last general recruitment, 464 people participated in the AC. They were told only 100 people were needed, out of which 10% must be Bonny indigenes. Now, going with the above statistics and also considering the fact that Nlng has dissolved their Lagos branch, I believe the logic proposed earlier that 200 will be chosen from 300, is inherently flawed. If anything, the number is likely going to reduce. 60 maybe?? . I stand to be corrected though. Remain standing.... |

She needs to 2mins while Audu wud use 1 min. Taking note of their time, it only means that when Amaka is half way through the bridge, Audu is already at the other end of the bridge. NB: The fact that two persons can cross the bridge at any moment validates this point as far as this exercise is concerned and it also confirms the intensity of the torchlight to see Audu through. Dude if not for all d smart tins u have written in d past i for yab u wella nw... airsaylongcon: Here's a little something to scratch the brain The war in WALESIA is over and a fragile peace has been negotiated. Six years of war have left the population with bombed houses, a ruined infrastructure and a fear of continuing partisan activity. You and Neil Saunders travel to the country to join the staff of a small but efficient charity. The charity runs the Walesia Winter Aid Programme (WWAP) and aims to deliver much needed supplies and medicines to isolated northern regions, especially to medical centres and orphanages. You arrive in the town of TARDUS on Sunday 21 November and find yourself assigned to a team led by Tim Sanderson. He tells you that there is a briefing at 1800 hours and asks you and Neil to attend. Having settled into makeshift accommodation you join the others. Tim introduces you to his team, Aldo Hunter, an engineer, Clive Robbins, and Lucy Farmer who is a nurse. They are delighted you have arrived to replace two other volunteers who were injured in a traffic accident. The introductions over, the briefing begins. The last convoy of the year will leave tomorrow at 0900 hours. Essential supplies of blankets and winter clothing will be taken in 3 trucks; medical supplies will be carried in 2 landrovers and one truck. The convoy will travel the 225 miles along route 930 to the medical centre and orphanage at REBITZ. It will stop for 30 minutes at the small village of TARZA some 150 miles away. The landrovers will be driven by Lucy and you. The weather forecast is poor, storms, freezing temperatures and the possibility of snow. The aim is to deliver the supplies to REBITZ by 1830 hours which is 30 minutes after last light. The journey starts off well and you keep to the scheduled timings but by the time you reach TARZA at 1500 hours your landrover and 2 trucks, one of which is carrying medical supplies, need to stop at a garage for repairs. Tim decides to leave you, Neil and Aldo to do the work and then to carry on to REBITZ in the morning. Before he leaves Tim places you in charge and says he will telephone the garage later in the evening; he hopes you will not need your first-aid experience. Aldo tells you that the truck is using too much fuel and that if 4 wheel drive has to be engaged consumption will drop by half from 8 mpg. The tank holds 38 gallons. At 2020 hours Tim telephones on a bad line. He tells you that Route 930 is hazardous and weather conditions are worsening. At BRAGAH he was told that the doctor is visiting some remote villages but they hoped he would return by midday on Tuesday. The Tizdach Forest road has a reasonable surface but it is likely to be used by refugees. As a result your speed would be reduced to 15 mph; in addition the partisans are thought to be using the woods for cover. To the east there is a motorable track: although it is heavily cratered, you should be able to manage 10 mph in 4 wheel drive. The Karda Bridge was blown up by partisans last month, but has been repaired, albeit temporarily. The situation in REBITZ is horrendous, a fire has damaged the medical centre and orphanage and Lucy says that the medical supplies must arrive by 1500 hours if not before. Tim tells you not to travel at night but to leave at first light which is at 0720 hours. The route is up to you but as there is no petrol in REBITZ you must take the return journey into account. You think about the best route to take and set off at dawn, telling the others you will make a final decision on the route when you reach the junction 20 miles north of TARZA. Nearing the junction your eyes are drawn to the side of the road. Slowing down you see a woman and 2 children, aged about 3 and 5. They are weak, emaciated and bleeding. Just before the woman passes out she begs you to save her children. You recognise the signs of hypothermia and realise you must act quickly. Requirement Assess the problem along the following lines Aims Factors which Affect the plan Deductions Courses which you considered (Reasons for accepting/Rejecting them) Courses which you adopted including exact timings Allow 30 minutes for any immediate action you feel you should take. Mehn make all of dem die... Ah ahnnn wetin sef... Mehn me n some ppl no dey d same level ooo.... See intimidation... Anyhw sha Baba God dey... |
