I know U Are gonna try to escape this intelligently So I'll ask U a Question If I Tell U tat am Gonna come up Ur Wife What Do I Mean?? You know not the Scriptures and you are here making claims! 34 But the Spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Abi-ezer was gathered after him. Judges 6:34 That is Bible language (come upon) showing that God's Power is at work in a person. Also see Acts 1:8 It doesn't matter the man wasn't available when they wanted to stone that woman to death b4 Jesus saved her
I explained this up there! That he wanted to but the angel come to him and to him he shouldnt bother meaning he didn't kept it private! i can see you are desperate to save your gasping thread! However, go read your op and see that Joseph kept it secret. It appears you dont understand the KJV. EyeHateGod: Why wasnt mary stoned to Death According to the Bible? In the gospel(good news) we have God in form of the holy spirit coming down from heaven to sleep with mary.(ahem i heard she was 12) No sleeping took place! It was a creative act: 5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; Jeremiah 1:5 My question to the Christians is Why wasnt mary stoned to death according to the law? lemme bring some instance: Deu 22:23 If a damsel [that is] a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her; Deu 22:24 Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, [being] in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour's wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you. But no man lay with her?! Now i dont wanna here excuse like ]It was kept secrete and nobody knew[ Then how did the story get into the gospel?? it must be a story known by all. Mat 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Mat 1:19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just [man], and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. Mat 1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, [u]fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. did you see there that Joseph kept the matter private not public? joseph here wanted to hid her but the angle said he shouldnt but he should go ahed and marry her!! Now this is not about Joseph mary or the angels this is about the people in the community! Why didnt they Stone her to death. we also have this situation: Joseph was not willing to make her a public example and wanted to put her away PRIVILY, did you see that? Joh 8:3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, Joh 8:4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Joh 8:5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? Joh 8:6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with [his] finger wrote on the ground, [as though he heard them not]. Joh 8:7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. Joh 8:8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. Joh 8:9 And they which heard [it], being convicted by [their own] conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, [even] unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. Joh 8:10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? Joh 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
Now we see in this passage that this woman was nearly stoned to death, but was saved by Jesus. But who saved mary?? just show us where she was caught in the very act like the woman here. |

anukulapo: This is a scene from the meeting of the prophet Elijah and the widow of Zarephath.
And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.
This sounds simple because we are reading it. How would this be taken if it happens to you? How would you justify the request? Given that you don't know the out come. A pastor walks up to you and says "attend to mine first from the little that you have..." It will not be difficult to do if you read a little further: For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth. 1 Kings 17:14 These were spoken not by a covetous man of mammon but by one who stood before God hence his words were persuasive and faith-inspiring! |

Vendoor: The Bible God of Old Testament often command israelites his people to destroy their neighbors (Moabites, Philistines, e.t.c). Thus sayest thy Lord to the King through The prophet. Then, hundreds of Thousands of armies match into the battle field with heavy losses from both side. Sometimes, the israel God fortify his own with extra power to destroy their Neighbors. The reason because they are unbelievers and offcause, some other hidden motives. Did God at anytime empower these other nations too to fight the Israelites (His People)? If yes, why? This will help you get the rationale behind it all. The New Testament on the other hand suggest that God want us to love our neighbors just as we love ourselves, Thus a God of peace and love, not war. IS there any quote in the Ot that suggests God commanding His People to love strangers? And the act of killing must be avoided at all course. Well, the bringer of the second message was brutally murder because his words did not align with God of the Old Testament. Thus, his message became a threat to the existing priestly and prophetic ordinances of israel. Can you sincerely and Scripturally prove the highlighted text? Blending these two Gods together was the biggest blonder made by early christians and you trying to classify both as one today will be the most illogical conclusion you will ever arrived.
Just try it, I'm waiting! Why then were the Prophecies given by God in the OT fulfilled in the NT if your topic is correct? |

Gombs: We’re Children Of The Covenant
Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed (Acts 3:25).
One Bible character that’s been very popular and important through the ages is Abraham. What made him so relevant in God’s scheme of things? It’s the covenant God made with him. Abraham was God’s covenant friend. Now, I know there’re Christians who say they have a covenant with God. No, you don’t have any covenant with God. Abraham had a covenant with God, but we’re not in that covenant. Who are we? What?! You are the children of those prophets, and you are included in the covenant God promised to your ancestors. For God said to Abraham, 'Through your descendants all the families on earth will be blessed.' Acts 3:25 NLT What then? Remember Paul was here speaking to Israelites in a synagogue. Now your claims are contradicting both Paul and the Bible! Why would God enter into a covenant with Israel since they were supposedly 'children of covenant' We’re the seed of Abraham: “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” (Galatians 3:26-29).
As Abraham’s seed, we’re the children of the covenant that God had with him. This is really amazing! Let me illustrate further. Imagine a husband and his wife in a marriage covenant. Would their child or children be part of their covenant? Absolutely not! Their child would be the product of the covenant.
Books have been written about our covenant with God, but really, we’re not in covenant with God. The danger of this misleading teaching is that while praying and trying to get results on the basis that you’re in covenant with God, you’re merely trying to get what you already have. And you’ll never get it that way. There’re things people pray and struggle for that shouldn’t be, if only they knew who they are, and their positioning in Christ. We’re children of the covenant!
https://www.nairaland.com/393253/rhapsody-realities-daily-devotional/53#48349122 See, what of the OT and the Israelites (mind you they were biological descendants)? Did God not enter into covenant with them? Granted, the OT and NT are based on the Promise to Abraham, however, everyone had to play his part! 7 Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read in the hearing of the people; and they said, All that the Lord has said we will do, and we will be obedient.8 And Moses took the [remaining half of the] blood and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant which the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.Exodus 24:7,8 Remember all that God did was because of His promise to Abraham? Yet we see the Israelites coming into a covenant here. Always test claims from a holistic perspective before running forward! |

Why then are the whites and arabs not giving this response? Do you therefore mean that the furnace they refer to is the sun? Did they say that?? If so, when did the sun cool to allow the whites to be made?? The theory says that Olodumare used Clay. Clay does not change colour even in the kiln (furnace) Then ask them why the black and white variation? My point, sire is that everyone can claim to have competing theories on the origin of Man and each will have their own way of explaining anomalies. We are here talking of the races and the account I quoted is a verifiable history, I believe that settles it. If black and white came from a hot/cold furnace, where do the children get theirs from? The most sensible thing to do then, you would agree, is to pick each one and scrutinize it without sentiment. To literally attack the doctrine and see if it withstands the test. To place it in a crucible and see if it stands or shatters, hmm??
The Genesis creation story has been called, by kind words, a figurative description; by hard words, a myth and mere fable. Rare is the person that will try to explain this facts without running into headlong perplexites. It has gotten to the level that different people even have different ideologies about it.

Where does this book of Enoch fall? The very fact that this book contains glaring contradictions compared to the Bible automatically makes it null and void. Nope, the Jews(Judaism sect) have not rejected this book and some other apocryphas. This book was rejected in the council of nicea, by ur early church fathers. Here are more biblical verses concerning God's foreknowledge and predestination that i recently came across.
Acts 15;18
18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world. Indeed, just as right from the beginning HE spoke of the Redemption to be accomplished, after the fall. And that redemption was to restore man to the original position and purpose conceived by God from the beginning. Acts 2;22, 23
22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: Acts 4; 27, 28 27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, 28 For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done. MAy be we can ponder on this as well and see what lesson to be drawn from it.God bless you.
In the fulness of time, Genesis 3:15 was to be fulfilled and man, true to his depraved nature(just like they did to other prophets) killed the Seed of the woman. Here, the Divine part is not the influencing of the actions of the killers (God Forbid!) but a restraint in delivering the Righteous. |

Besides, in those days of aloof cities and people, don't u think the person would have been easily caught considering the prophecies being well known. I believe this must be one of the reasons why even the jews rejected those books! Gosh, this is simply proof that he got the info from the Book, that existed before he was born. No! Like you have in many tribes, history , sometimes unwritten, is transferred orally down the line. Enoch's prophecy matched the message by , "Methuselah' that destruction was coming. Hence, as long as the name is remembered, the events surrounding it too will not be forgotten! Hence, the book of Enoch was an author grabbing that aspect and fleeing with his imaginations. 4kings: Well I've read more than half of the book of Enoch and some points listed here are taken out of context; Lucifer was hardly mentioned, and I think that addresses the case of Job, Azazel was like a leader of the fallen angels on earth, and not the first of the fallen, he met with Enoch most of the time, but never really talked about the fall, he was just more powerful and Noah's flood was predicted. I don't want to go any further to argue about the veracity of the book of Enoch.( Mind u Jesus, Jude and Paul quoted that book ) I just asked how do u distinguish an inspired book from one that is not inspired?, writers could have easily come together to make things correlate, in order to gain control, Just like Eusebius was the first person to quote a forged paragraph, in order to gain control. Where ? The fact that a person milleniums later quoted Enoch's prophecy tells you that it was known by some. (in fact, "Methuselah" was a prediction of an imminent judgement). Hence, that you find that prophecy in Jude does not mean that it was a quote from the Book of Enoch. Moreover, since God inspired Enoch's prophecy, would it be anything if Jude was inspired to write what he wrote? Or was there any that would also claim to have supplied Jude with what transpired with Moses' dead body? We would miss a lot if we fail to understand that God that inspires men to speak of things to happen centuries later, can also inspire same for records of events long gone! |

4kings: How do u distinguish in this context, a literary work from an inspired one? How do I? Well, a cross-examination with history and past prophecies on the subject matter is a good starting point. A strong dependence on the Inspirer will undergird this effort though. Besides, the writer lived milleniums after the real Enoch; he was neither an eye-witness nor a protege of the man whose name the book shares. Moreover, the book contains contradictions that are against the Bible; and major errors not in anyway congruent with the OT/NT/or immaterial based on pure infirmity : 1:1 Implies restoration during tribulation - not congruent with scriptures. 1:8 In conflict with the doctrine that peace was made at the cross. Also, in the last days tribulation will increase for the righteous - this "verse" seems to dispute that. 2:2-3 Appears to contradict 2 Pet 3:3-7 5:4 Is an admonition to some unknown party - this is very irregular relative to the scriptures (i.e. authentic ancient writings by God-fearing Jews) 6:3 Semjaza seems to be listed as the leader of the angels, which is not scriptural 6:3,8 None of these angels are mentioned in the Bible 8:1 Azazel isn't even listed in 6:8 as one of the angels that fornicated with women 8:3 Araqiel and Shamsiel aren't listed in 6:8 either 10:2 Enoch allegedly wrote about Noah, even though the Bible teaches that Enoch was taken up to heaven years before Noah was born. 10:4-6,12 Implies angels can be bound & hid in holes under rocks. This is contrary to scripture. 10:8 Ascribes all the sin of the fallen angels to one named Azazel - not scriptural. 10:15-11:2 Seems to imply that permanent restoration took place after the flood - clearly not true. It seems the true author of this book confused scriptures pertaining to the future restoration. 13:5-6,14:4-5,7 Implies fallen angels can't talk to God - this contradicts Job. Also implies that angels were repentant, but weren't received back by God - very strange doctrine. 14 Gives a very strange description of Heaven that conflicts with many scriptures 15:8-10 Very strange doctrine about "evil spirits" proceeding from unredeemable giants etc http://christianity.stackexchange.com/questions/8576/why-is-the-book-of-enoch-not-regarded-as-canonical |

How about Esau/Edom? He was so called because he was red, not white?:
23 And the Lord said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.
24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.
25 And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau Genesis 25:23-25
No wonder milleniums later, Paul said:
And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth Acts 17:26a |

Muafrika2: Isn't that the same person?
Science has been allowed to get away with unreasonableness and lies in the name of theories, peer reviewed studies etc. Christians have known that those bones were not human for decades. But the scientific community was just so intent on establishing it's evolution theory, they willfully looked the other way. Romans tell us the primitive men rejected God and worshiped animals and creeping things; It seems modern, sophisticated man rejected God and turned himself to an offspring of apes and creeping things! Same thought process, same inspirer, same goal, different setting! |

cloudgoddess: No I wouldn't.
Evolution is ongoing, man is not the "height", there is no "height" as the conditions for fitness are dependent on the specific environment of an organism.
As long as the environment changes, which is constantly occuring, and populations are reproducing, which is also always happening, then evolution - the change in heritable traits across generations - is happening. Every time a baby is born, a plant is sprouted, or a bacterial colony multiplies, with a different set of genetic information than it's parentals, evolution has occured. Its more of entropy now, not evolution(how then do we explain this?)! The current changes (climate etc) does not appear to promise to support life but to annihilate it. |

4kings: The book of Susanna gave a story of two elders, to buttress that point, but I don't wanna go any further. ******** Scholars agree that the synoptic gospels were not written by eye witnesses(the disciples), but from a common source. But this gospels, are still in the bible, since it propagated the existence of christ, isn't this proof of cherrypicking done by the early church fathers. No. These apocryphas were there before Christ and they were commonly known as purely literary works, not Inspired. Most of them were written during the 400 years of Divine Silence. |
