starlingslimnet:I will do that when you have quoted a passage with similar credentials that prove your claim! |
lexiconkabir:1. Immorality between a man and his spouse? That is not possible. 2. The book is Divine! Inspiration is not limited only to visions! Some of the saints of old were moved by the Holy Spirit to say/write the things they said/wrote without a vision! Eg, 1 Samuel 3:1,21 And the child Samuel ministered unto the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was precious in those days; there was no open vision 21 And the Lord appeared again in Shiloh: for the Lord revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the Lord. |
starlingslimnet:And the Spirit will contradict Christ Who said the time is known to no man??! |
lexiconkabir:1. YES SOS 4:9 ETC Thou hast ravished my heart, my sister, my spouse; thou hast ravished my heart with one of thine eyes, Spouse is a term relevant only after marriage. 2. Sure it is Divine. God instituted marriage remember?! Besides, the book indicates a greater mystery which I am not constrained to share here. 3. It is not a book of porn. The same children who read it will read also that those things are meant to occur after marriage. However, you appear to have given your own meanings to something very clear. The distraction from the topic is hereby regretted. |
starlingslimnet:Now that is something the Bible never said! |
starlingslimnet:2 Peter 2:5 5 and spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; 4. Tribulation Takes Place After Translocation: By Translocation I mean what people referred to as "Rapture." Christ said and I quote "After the tribulation of those days the Son of man will come" The idea of Christ coming after the Translocation is somehow contradicting Christ himself.Revelations 19:1,6,7,8,9 records the raptured saints in Heaven worshipping God and taking part in the Marriage supper of the Lamb as the Bride (the Church). This is followed by the Second coming in Revelations 19:11-21 which will end the tribulation and bring judgement on the antichrist and the false prophet! Now if the saints will go through the Great tribulation, who is the Bride referred to in Revelations 19:8,9 in an event that takes place in Heaven while the Tribulation continues on earth? 6. Satan Will Punish People In Hell: Somehow funny to me.Like it's incomprehensible. The Bible clearly says satan will be thrown into the lake of fire to be tormented days and night.Question here is "How can Satan torment others when he is being tormented?"Methinks those who say this are referring to the abyss where the rich man etc went to because Revelations describes satan as Revelations 9:11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon The final Lake of fire torments every creature (satan, antichrist etc) sent therein after the Great White Throne judgment etc |
lexiconkabir:No problem. |
lexiconkabir:Notice the highlighted! The mother is involved! Now, if the law forbids a man seeing the unclothedness of his grand children how much more will seeing that of his kids be forbidden! Leviticus 18:10 10 You shall not uncover the unclothedness of your son’s daughter or your daughter’s daughter; their unclothedness you shall not uncover, for they are your own unclothedness [that is, your own descendants] |
To start with, it is wrong to say it is their culture in the US or any developed country! The practice of women wearing trousers was not seen in the 16th-18th Century (and snow still fell then!) meaning it is a new practice that has nothing to do with the culture of the West! It is a practice that arose in fashion and which was seen as egregious because of how the trouser helped highlight that which should be covered thus violating the scripture that exhorts to modesty and avoidance of that which has the potential of making the weak to fall thus the wearer becomes culpable. Besides, it will be wrong to assume that trouser=pant=bum shorts! Just like saying killing an ant=killing a goat=killing a man!!! By that logic, I can say that the author of the fb post would not mind if the choir members minister next sunday in bum shorts!!! Moreover, if you read Deuteronomy 22, of all the commands therein, only the verse on wrong attires describes the doers thereof as an abomination! To dispense with that verse will mean to logically encourage every action described as an abomination (bestiality included) in the OT!!! Jude 1:23 says to,hate even the garment spotted by the flesh. I believe this is still valid today. |
lexiconkabir:Can you prove this from the book in focus (Songs of Solomon) or any other? |
lexiconkabir:No problem. Fathers are allowed to do what? |
lexiconkabir:The Songs of Solomon is not a porn material! Why? sexual intimacy and/or romance within the territory of matrimony is God's design and that is what the book is about. It describes the intimacy between married couples as proved by the oft-repeated clause therein,"my beloved is mine and I am his" re-echoed as a marital clause in 1 Corinth 7:4. (A book like this settles the fact that romance/intimacy in marriage is not a carnal/frivolous practice) Apologies for distracting the topic of the thread. |
answerspls:NO He didn't! He is not a man. Read Exodus 3:18 and compare with Exodus 4:30,31 and Exodus 5:1. One thing you will notice is that the word is ' go and sacrifice' not 'go and return afterwards' See the clarification in Exodus 8:1, ''let My people go that they may serve Me''! Besides for pharaoh to accept orders from a Superior would mean he will no longer have the right or authority to retain them but he had to do so in the long run. Adam and Eve relinquished their dominion by obeying a single suggestion / command. |
Jesus Christ is coming for a Church without spot or wrinkle! 1. Ephesians 5:25-28 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Those who were having spotted garments were described as having a name that they were alive but were actually dead: 2. Revelations 3:1b-4 ... I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. 2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. 3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. 4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. Let's seek for Grace and power to live victoriously from He Who makes Provisions before commands. |
^ Not good to rewrite or edit history! Psalm 51 was written by David! Why did the kingdom divide into 10 and 2? Was the act not in judgement for the idolatry of Solomon? |
waldigit:Explain Foundations. |
kwenu:Glory to God and Father of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ |
@ kwenu, It is one thing to pray (merely) it is another thing to prevail in prayer! Jacob did both! In Genesis 32:9-12 he prayed and looking at it,the prayer was well worded but he realised that he had not prevailed hence he separated himself from everyone to pray and ...(you know the rest!) Likewise Jesus in Gethsemane, Moses on the Mountain, Paul as regards the thorn, etc You dont just merely pray; you pray until you get the answer/ assurance that you have the answer! Gone seem to be the days when people prayed till they found God (oh what bliss!!!) in prayer. Others that pray do not do so in faith but in fear. You find prayer points, film shows, the sudden turn around/woes of somebody etc replacing the use of the Word in prayer! In a time conscious, real-time, wait-and -get age, we are fast loosing the very essence of true prayer We approach prayer as though we were doing God a favour!(who is the needy and Who is the Needed?) Man wont mind standing in a queue from 6am to 3pm at an embassy just because of visa; he is convinced that his turn will come and he will not be denied, others discuss on phone late into the night till the early hour of the morning yet 30 minutes in prayer is punishment! And even if the answer will be no (like it came to Paul) we will not be swept off our feet but we receive grace. |
malvisguy212:Glory to God bro. Thanks |
sportsmaster:At these last hours, we must be men and women of steel if we will get anything done! Many say they can die for Christ but the same cannot deny self of food or sleep to intercede!!! God wake us up!!! |
Op says prayer is meaningless and the Queen of Scotland says of John Knox, "I fear the prayers of John Knox more than all the armies of England" It will be fatal for a Royalty of that standing to say this in the audience of her courtiers if the sentence was comparing a nought with reality! Op says prayer is a waste of time yet by prayer, David Brainerd transformed a community of drunken, fetish and ritualistic Indians into an assembly of praying saints! Op says prayer is a waste of time yet George Muller ran an orphanage successfully! His resources?Faith in God and prayer! Op opines rather opinionatedly that prayer is a waste of time yet Elijah Letwaba prayed all night for a community experiencing severe drought and the rains poured the next morning! (he had prophesied earlier and the villagers were on the look out to see if he was true or false!) Op says prayer is a waste of time yet the record of WW2 (Hand on the Helm{pgs 4-5} by Katherine Pollard Carter) indicates the potency of the 9 'o' Clock prayer by all citizens of the British Isles. In fact, a captured Nazi officer alluded to it! I could go on and on! But do we blame the op? Yes and No! Yes because he appears to have jumped into his conclusion without an objective fact finding mission! No because the preponderance of what vooks called, 'canned' prayer (who still claims promises importunately today?) has done its damage! Why? faith comes by the Word and is the only means by which we can touch/move the Supernatural or displace the preternaturals; no amount of flesh induced aggression, shouting, crying etc can substitute true faith in prayer. |
And David himself wrote in the Psalms: To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David; when Nathan the prophet came to him after he had sinned with Bathsheba. Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; According to the greatness of Your compassion blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash me thoroughly from my wickedness and guilt And cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I am conscious of my transgressions and I acknowledge them; My sin is always before me. 4 Against You, You only, have I sinned And done that which is evil in Your sight, So that You are justified when You speak [Your sentence] And faultless in Your judgment. 5 I was brought forth in [a state of] wickedness; In sin my mother conceived me [and from my beginning I, too, was sinful]. 6 Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being, And in the hidden part [of my heart] You will make me know wisdom. 7 Purify me with [a]hyssop, and I will be clean; Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. 8 Make me hear joy and gladness and be satisfied; Let the bones which You have broken rejoice. 9 Hide Your face from my sins And blot out all my iniquities. 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a right and steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me away from Your presence And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation And sustain me with a willing spirit. 13 Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, And sinners shall be converted and return to You. 14 [Rescue me from bloodguiltiness, O God, the God of my salvation; Then my tongue will sing joyfully of Your righteousness and Your justice. Psalm 51:1-14 Long afterwards,it was thus recorded: Matthew 1:6 6 Jesse was the father of [g]David the king. David was the father of Solomon by Bathsheba who had been the wife of Uriah. To opine that the history of David encourages adultery is wrong. Did God cover it up? Was he not allowed to face the repercussion of his actions? Who was Solomon's mother? Was Uriah alive when David slept with her? What is that called? |
dmandy:Unfortunately nairaland is not like whatsapp where audio messages can be sent! Did I just inspire somebody? |
dmandy:Any other catholic seconding this before we move on with the thread? |
MATEX30:Thank God!!! P.S.: Food poisoning does not mean the food was poisoned by somebody. It's as a result of bacteria or other toxins in food. |
OLAADEGBU:Interesting; still waiting for an affirmation or denial by a NL |
OLAADEGBU:Is it true that Roman catholics do not take it literally? I need an objective answer. |
This is not to absolve any of there responsibility nor encourage the one who knows better than she/he acts. Neither is it to relieve any one from being responsible for their choices and decisions, and the consequences thereof. However, God works in any generation through His people: 2 Chronicles 7:14,".... If My People will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from THEIR WICKED WAYS..." Rather than being spectators running commentaries on how bad the world is becoming, we need like never before to take 2 Chronicles 7:14 seriously. The quote below is a commentary thereon. The Holy Spirit brings conviction of sin to the non-Christians in the measure in which He first works in Christians in the Church. The unconverted feel their need of salvation when Christians first feel the need for them to be saved. When Christians feel their deeper need of the Holy Spirit, non-Christians will feel their need of Christ. The Church must be concerned for the world if the world is to be concerned for the Church. Non-Christians will deal with their sins according to the way Christians first deal with theirs. When Christians repent, sinners will repent. Sinners will pray and seek the Lord when Christians do so first. The unconverted will be "born again" of the Holy Spirit when Christians are burdened for them and birth them in prayer. When Christians are filled with the Holy Spirit, non-Christians will be convicted of sin and converted to Christ. When Revival is strong in the Church, evangelism will be strong in reaching the world. When Christians walk in the light they have, sinners will see the light in and through them. When God’s people face the many plain Scriptures about holiness of life, cleansing from all sin, purity, victorious Christian living and sanctification, sinners will face up to the plain Word of God regarding their salvation. Conviction of sin is the hallmark of genuine Revival, and the lack of both shows how needy we are. In short, the Sword of the Spirit is two-edged, and in Revival it cuts both ways: bringing forth repentance and Revival in the Church, and at the same time strong conversions to Christ in Evangelism. Armin Gesswein Herald of His Coming February 2008 We desire God to work today like He we have heard or read in history but one thing we fail to appreciate is that God Who spoke in Isaiah 59:2 is still the Same! Isaiah 59:2 "...YOUR INIQUITIES have Separated ...you and your God,...YOUR SINS have hid His Face(Presence) from you..." and Jeremiah 5:25 "...YOUR SINS have WITHHELD GOOD THINGS from you" As per the last quote, is that not why we have vigils upon vigils and many have prayed themselves through to unbelief and skepticism, still nothing happens! |

Aye, why not? |
Indeed it is a choice not without sacrifice. |
knowyaself2:Search the web on Baal/Molech worship and the involvement of debauchery. Another recent version of Sodom and Gomorrah is Pompeii. Let google take you by the hand down memory lane. |
