The pagan religions eg Baal worship had sexual orgies as part of their rituals for fertility. I wonder where that was encouraged in either Old or New Testament! They also had the regular burning up of their children as part of worship, I wonder when that was commanded.
Israel always suffered (historically verifiable) when they forsook God and turned to other gods meaning it's a fallacy to say that they were following a belief eked out of paganism.

All Jesus' teachings did not end with the Old Testament else why would He have said:

Why do you call Me, Lord, Lord, and do not [practice] what I tell you?
Luke 6:46

Having settled that, the law (being part of the Old Testament) and its shadows and types were fulfilled when Jesus died and the veil of the Temple was rent. The NT was wrapped up in the Old and could only commence after the conditions of the latter had been fulfilled not just in type but in Substance.

Truth is established when we consider parallel texts eg Acts 4:12, Hebrew 7:25: Salvation is guaranteed only to those that come to God by Him.(paraphrased).
GOD is, and is able to preserve His Word. Millions have believed in Jesus and found this true.

Or are there any of the contemporary heroes of the faith that were what they were simply because of ...'fear of hell'?

Besides, I ask again, what will be the end of the anti-christ and those who receives the mark? What will be the end of the devil and his angels?

Since you say hell is a doctrine of demons, what would be the end of those demons?

The greatest need of God today is for men and women who know how to prevail in prayer – mighty intercessors, tireless prevailers, people who will persevere in prayer battle and prayer conquest until heaven’s powers are released and God’s will is done in the practical situations on earth.

God’s cause creeps forward timidly and slowly when there are more organizers than agonizers, more workers than prevailing prayer warriors. We need prayer warriors who have seen the heart of God, who have experienced the power and glory of the cross, who know the Bible meaning and significance of the day of judgment, heaven and hell. God’s only hope for earth’s millions is prevailing prayer. For this reason Jesus is prevailing day and night and needs our prevailing cooperation. God has ordained to save the nations through prayer (Psa. 2: cool

. It is part of His eternal decree. Therefore Jesus prays, and therefore we must pray.

We Are Failing God

Millions of feeble, careless Christians are failing God’s great heart of love; failing their crucified, resurrected, and enthroned Savior; failing their tender, groaning Intercessor-Spirit. God longs to be gracious (Isa. 30:18), but He is hindered by our failing to fulfill the role for which He created us, saved us, and preserves us alive today.

Churches, missionary organizations, and Christian institutions are highly organized, well staffed, and, on the whole, busy in significant labor. But where are the results? We have not prayed them to pass yet. We have failed to teach our people the role of prevailing prayer. We have failed to model for them powerful lives of prevailing prayer and to lead them in it.

Only a fool fails to pray, but millions of Christians seem almost greater fools. They believe in prayer. They pray rather casually and often ineffectively, but they have never given themselves to the work of spiritual conquest through prevailing prayer. Knowing God’s mighty power is always released through prayer, they nevertheless fail to pray until they prevail.

"Where are the Christian leaders who can teach the modern saints to pray and put them at it?…Where are the apostolic leaders who can put God’s people to praying?" (E. M. Bounds, Power Through Prayer). Only those who prevail in prayer produce a host of followers who know how to prevail. Prevailing apostles produce prayer warriors. Comparatively prayerless pulpits will produce prayerless and powerless congregations. Who will call today’s generation to prayer and teach them to pray? Where are our prayer giants?

As a creature, his first father, Adam, was directly created and commanded to reproduce hence the psalmist attributes the same creation process to himself though what was described in preceding verses was the reproduction/conception process. But God was not created hence the Speaker in Proverbs did not once say 'I was made'! Rather He repeats it , 'I was brought forth'! In describing the things that were created, HE uses another verb!

The main point is that "he was brought forth as with labour pains " , what does it mean that God give birth to him as with labour pains ?

The inclusion of labour and pain (came after the fall of man) is peculiar to man's parlance not as a normal part but due to the fall.

Remember that God also give birth to the earth with labour pains ? What does it mean ?

Proverbs 8:25,26
25Before the mountains were settled,
before the hills was I brought forth:
26 while as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields,
nor the highest part of the dust of the world

I believe you would appreciate personification when you see one? The passage in Psalm 90:2 is expressed in Proverbs quoted above to show that God, the Originator of all things, made the earth and settled the mountains thus clarifying the personification used in Psalm 90:2.

Another example of such personification is Isaiah 59:4
None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth:
they trust in vanity, and speak lies;
they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

While referring to his mother's womb in the verse quoted meaning the 'possessing' was part of the conception before the 'bringing forth'. Hence it would be wrong to single it out as a sole action of creation just like Adam was created.
For thou hast possessed my reins:
thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.
Besides unlike the psalmist,the Speaker in Proverbs 8 affirms twice of being brought forth!

Psalm 139:13 shows us the 'possessing' was more an internal action that precedes the 'bringing forth':

Luke 16:23,24 Jesus was the One Who said this and I believe He wont describe things that were not there!

As regards Isaiah 66:24
The use of the word dead as related to the final judgement is focused on Eternal separation from God that is why those that stood before God in Revelations 20 were called the dead! Were they corpses? NO. They were those who were already separated from God!

What then is the essence of the worms not dying and the fact that death will be the enemy that will be destroyed(1 Corinth 15:26)? If the people thus condemned were to be annihilated?

Then, what will be the final judgement for the antichrist and the devil that empowered him?

As for me, as long as GOD is my Father, HE has questions to answer.

If he knows what we will become even when we have not been born, why must he wait for us to repent?

If he knew that someone would be evil like satan for example then God should be blamed for letting him come into existence in the first place.
God should have avoided all these nonsense and only created the ones that wont mess up since he knows everything.
If he had done this,then there wouldnt be need for hell or torment or all the other stupid Sh1t like jesus bla bla bla sacrifice.
I know that some will start quoting their bible for me now, but dont, because anyone in their right senses would agree that prevention is better than cure.
The bible actually succeeded in raising more questions than it could ever answer.

Already I highlighted how 'brought forth' was repeated twice therein and also drew on a parallel verse in Psalm 139 to show that the word possess is used in relation to the 'brought forth' process. Thankfully, both passages were referring to living beings!

If you will single out 'possess' and throw away the 'brought forth' repeated twice, you are a free moral agent but you would have diminished from the word, deleting vs 24 and 25 because you feel your thinking supersedes the Word!!![/quote]

That is the defining factor hence the woman who did similar in Revelation was called Jezebel: one who manipulated and usurped her husbands authority! Forbidding such subtle rebellion is right!

Hate in the bible is also termed as holiness because the bible says that people should hate self, parents, brothers etc and follow the gospel etc.

When Jesus said what He said, why then did HE show concern for Mary while on the cross? Why did Peter and the rest retain their wives? And why did Jesus commence His ministry preaching that he that is angry with his brother is in danger of hell?
Why will Jesus say hate and the Scriptures says honour your parents?

It will be fair to at least study extensively and objectively before drawing conclusions!
Considering other parallel verses, you will understand the meaning.

After the resurrection of Christ, the saints of the OT resurrected too. Matthew 27:52,53)

The place of the departed comprises two destination: Paradise - Abraham's Bosom and the place of Torment where the fire is and both is separated by a big gulf Luke 16:24-29)and the one is at a point of elevation from the other.

. After Christ's resurrection souls who die in the faith go straight to Heaven (Revelations 6:9) but the place of torment is still there, the only 'relief' being the Great Judgement in Revelations 20 after which they will be sent to the lake of fire.

Remember the context!

Formed (chuwl) the earth " psalm 90:2 , i was given birth (chuwl) ? The ball is in ur net .

The bone of contention here is 'possess' and I dont find it in Psalm 90. Besides, unlike Proverbs 8, Psalm 90 refers to non-living things hence it cannot be used in comparison here.

In fact, that a different word is translated brought forth in Psalm 90 and Proverbs 8 shows the intent of the hebrew to differentiate one from the other. While the word can be used to personify the act of creation, the fact of Only Begotten stays only with Jesus as both testaments affirm.

Another example of such obvious personification is Isaiah 59:4

Besides, 'chuwl' is purposely used in Proverbs 8 because the word expresses and confirms its subject removing any possibility of assuming personification; thankfully, the records in the NT confirms the fact that the process described is literal as regard the Subject.

Proverbs 8: 22-30
22The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way,
before his works of old.
23 I was set up from everlasting,
from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth;
when there were no fountains abounding with water.
25 Before the mountains were settled,
before the hills was I brought forth:

Here things are set in their proper perspective, He that was brought forth is differentiated from the elements and mountains that were prepared, created, established,appointed, made etc. In fact He repeats 'brought forth twice in that passage to clear your doubts!
