.WELL SAID. IF THEY WANT TO DISCONTINUE ANY LINK WITH YORUBA, THEN LET THEM SO DO. AFTER ALL BABA ATI OMO KO NI OKO KI ALA MA WA.. AM EVEN TIRED OF THIS RANTING EVERY OTHER ATTACK ON YORUBA TRADITIONS BY SOME OF THE CHIEFS AND COUNTER ACCUSATION OF HISTORY DISTORTING. LET BINI BE IF THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR TRUTH AND TRADITIONS YET THEY WORSHIP IFA. OR WE SHOULD ASK BINI IF IFA IS ALSO FROM OGODOMIGODO? OR IS IT FROM BINI?
The so called Ikaladeran/Ekaladerhan of the Benins is not even Oduduwa, and has never been!
According to authentic Benin history, he was a son of their last Ogiso who was banished and wandered in the bush for days, before finally settling in Ughoton (Ughoton is somewhere in Edo state today, near the confluence of the Osse (Ovia) and Bini rivers).
It if from Ughoton that he was sent for to return back home to the town according to some sources in Benin, while other sources in Benin like Egharevba say he was killed in Ughoton by forces of Ogiso owodo. As in, he was killed and buried there, at an unmarked gravesite.

Whatever the case may be, Ekaladerhan was never oduduwa. The attempt by some unscrupulous elements to make Oduduwa the banished Benin prince ekaladerhan is only very very recent and has never been corroborated in Benin history until now (revisionist attempts).

@Bigfrancis
Evidence 1.
Both Benin and Yoruba history corroborate the facts that every third Benin Oba used to be taken to Ife, some say just the head, others say the whole body- but both agree with the burial at Ife.
According to Egharevba the popular Benin historian, the practice seem to have been stopped before the British expedition and subsequent conquest of Benin. But it DID happen.

https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/288/32660670465_1c35f15f49_b.jpg

In Fact the Oba of Benin was said to recognize the Ooni's spiritual sovereignty, even though that later became nominal.

Evidence 2
Their Divinition comes from Ife

B:

Evidence 4.
Their History and Mythology has always acknowledged Ife and Other Yoruba obas

https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/585/32281471580_8987f103bc_b.jpg

Edos are always VERY QUICK to attack Yoruba version of history, BUT they have NEVER ever for once told us where the Edos come from.
Christians say God created the world in 6 days and "rested" on the 7th, Yorubas say Oduduwa created the world starting from Ife, while Obatala created man... Edos never tell us anything. All they do is attack Yoruba history, while actually telling us nothing about their own Origins. Okay if Oduduwa was not a Yoruba character like the Benin's claim, then where did the Benin's themselves or the Ogisos, who like Oduduwa are also Semi-mythical characters come from?
It is easy for people to laugh at one explanation to a theory as "not making common sense" while providing no alternative explanation. That is what scientologists do when they attack religion.

This Esogban has a penchant for stirring the fish stew and causing trouble, him, together with the likes of the Alake of Egba who went about the unsolicited business of ranking Obas. If He wants to totally de-link the Benin/Edo history from Yorubas, Abeg let him just say that and let us all rest. Haba. This is just revisionist history at its best.

i disagree with this your fallacy, rather the yorubas are the only race who use true federalism and restructuring as a bargaining currency to buy political goods and services from the north, they are nothing close to progressives rather they are conflict merchants with a valueless currency known as restructuring.
lol..... you aren't making sense bro.
Nigeria made more progress under federal regions, and the yorubas want that back.

The Yorubas have been the only ones in this country constantly calling for federalism and restructuring.

I doubt our population figure of 193million in this country. I alone posses 4 sim cards and I know there are millons of people who own 2 or 3 sim cards also. When you consider that the average 13/14 yr old owns a phone(1 sim at least), it is hard to imagine 193 million people in this small space.
Is it in this same Nigeria that the average 13 year old owns a phone, or another one?
You think Nigeria is Lagos and Abuja? Even in Lagos, the average 13 year old doesn't have a phone.
Don't even mention Sokoto or Jigawa.

For the Kalenjin, everybody gets a beating. Old men and women, parents. A friend on mine told me it's honourable for their elders yo be beaten by any metallic object in case of any fights. It's only shameful if you use something like a stick to beat your elder. But it's a cattle raiding community. Those ones tend to be tough and violent.

For other tribes I know, you can't even raise your voice at an elder. It's an automatic curse shocked

CultureRe: Oworo Land: Where The Tongue Includes Igbo, Yoruba Words And Chief Bears Nupe by scholes0(m):
OPCNAIRALAND:
Lokoja is historically a Yoruba town. Hausa presence there is explained by Lugard's action in Hausaland pre and post amalgamation. Those rulers who fought and opposed British imposition of indirect rule were exiled, if they survived the onslaught of military siege, and dumped in Lokoja as a punitive action. Yoruba are naturally hospitable and non discriminative. Their Yoruba hosts in Lokoja accomodated them warmly and vast of them remained behind in Lokoja while some returned after Lugard's departure to reclaim their lost privileges as nobles in Northern Emirates. Those who remained in Lokoja are exiled refugees whose descendants can be found there till today. Many have assimilated into the Yoruba culture. Traces of Hausa language also mixed with the local Yoruba dialect.
Wow, first time I am coming across someone with real knowledge on the history of Lokoja town.
in fact in Lokoja till today, so many exiled/deposed Northern Emir graves sites still litter the city. It was never an Hausa town. And even today, Yoruba remains the most common street Language there.
CultureRe: Read About The Dahomey kingdom by scholes0(m): 3:15pm On Jan 28, 2017
Nigerians are funny people.
They were defeated in war by Amazons, so what?
This is the same state that was under Oyo Empire for over 100 years, and had to resort to use of females as soldiers because Oyo had killed a good number of the men, and there was shortage in manpower.

Power is never static. A group at the top today can be very well defeated tomorrow. Just the dynamics of life. Those who ave histories will know this.

But at least, they have a HISTORY to talk about. Better than living in the bush like chimps sucking on bush mango and Ube, like some people east of the Niger. lipsrsealed

Read materials on Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade, you would agree with me that Africa should blame herself for the success of the slave trade...
The white did not raid any village to take men hostage, but the blacks did.
You are just making hasty generalizations.
Do you know how many Black African kings were deposed and how many kingdoms destroyed by White Europeans, because their rulers and/or people failed to co-operate with Europeans and facilitate slavery?
Yes, the blame goes both ways, but the massive scale and brutality the trans Atlantic slavery attained should be attributed to the European invaders, and them alone.
