Do you want Presidential address or Presidential action? Funny how most of you think. You now compare someone who is obviously working way more than the slow bubu. *He talks to his people everyday about what he has done and what he seeks to do. *He Formed a special task force for its containment of the virus * made a 2 trillion dollar stimulus for the economy. *Used the constitution to maximize effort to help his people n many more. am surprised how a sensible person could even think of giving you a like.Same on you. |

Politics › Re: Who Will Be The Best Running Mate Of Atiku Abubakar? by Scholes007(m): 8:06am On Oct 08, 2018 |
yoribo: My candid opinion, in Nigerian National politics Igbos are not yet in the picture. Atiku picking from SE or SS as running mate will be a bad market for PDP. 1. Buhari is no 1 hater of Igbos, and the Igbos know that, even if Buhari drops Osibanjo and takes any person in the SE, Igbos will not vote him and APc.
2.SS and SE are naturally PDP
3.Yorubas are dangerous politicians and highly tribalistic they always want their interest represented. despite the economy does not favor any body if Atiku picks running mate from SS or SE they will support Buhari because of Osibanjo.
4. Igbos wants their businesses to pick up again so they will vote for PDP whether they have VP slot or not.
5. so best bet for Atiku is pick Running mate from SW, Probably from from Abiola's family, Awolowo or any prominent person
You have a point but considering SW must be divided (due to obvious reasons) they is really no reason to kill the voting enthusiasm in your base down south (SE|SS). I hope they pick someone like okonjo who has southern appeal most especially been a proven administrator. |

So if una no like Atiku, make una force Ngozi on him and watch his ambition go up in flames of mockery even before 2019. Yea the APC govt really came for her head obviously, there were some allegations made then but non yet to be substantiated. Am not saying anyone is a saint but her southern appeal is substantial. Abagworo: It wasn't like this in the past. As a kid I still remember how houses in the villages had well trimmed flowers and fruit trees lined virtually every compound. The undeveloped large expanses of land had beautifully arranged palm trees and you would drive miles upon miles admiring the trees. We lost the culture of clean and well kept environment quite recently. We lost aesthetic culture because the government itself lost focus. I could remembered my grandfather then fight tooth and kneel to maintain his ornamental plants then. But these have been destroyed by govt certified hoodlums. Today this place look dirty n disorganized. Umuahia was a well planed city from the beginning but the government negligence have taken its toll on it. The list can go on on. But I believe this will be tackled if our admistrative cities like Enugu n owerri take bold steps in addressing that. |
Politics › Re: . by Scholes007(m): 6:58am On Aug 18, 2018 |
Next govs in Enugu and Imo states should work more on harmonizing the capital cities. Enugu hv started with great n solid infrasture especially roads but more needs to b done. The govt authorities should work hard in identifying the short comings in the city centers and tackle it with necessary policies. For example, our cities still look too chaotic because the residents do not take care of the environment especially pertaining to the arrangements between the road and their property. Look closely you will see that these cities has great structures but their beauty cannot be noticed fully because there is haphazard organization of structures. |

Afam4eva: The reason i don't like posting here is because i know there are people like you who take people's comments out of context. When i mentioned Uyo, i was referring to the gargantuan projects embarked by Akpabio that changed Uyo forever and put it on a pedestal to be a city for the future. The massive road and bridge construction, the world class hospital, Ibom Tropicana and the Uyo International stadium are legacy projects that has put Uyo on the map. Pls mr I don't like... If that is what you call placing on world map,how about the estates, industries, private hotels, and other investments springing up in enugu? I never disprove neither am totally in support of your claims brother. Enugu to me is get national n international recognition, only that it is too slow. |
Politics › Re: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by Scholes007(m): 9:53pm On Mar 24, 2018 |
Afam4eva: We need a national recognition before we start talking of international recognition. You need more than just few good roads, clean and green streets as well as few residential estates to be recognized. I just returned from Dubai last week and i saw what the whole noise about that city is all about. Even Lagos and Abuja cannot smell 5% of what Dubai has been able to achieve let alone cities like Enugu. Let's sthink of displacing Calabar and Port-hacourt first before we think national and international. The truth is that, it's mostly Igbo people who have good things to say about Enugu. You rarely hear a Non Igbo saying potiive things about Enugu because they either haven't been there or it's not really worth talking about. Atleast we hear Calabar and Uyo all over the place and we should ask ourselves, why Uyo? Why not Enugu?
It's very simple. Enugu has refused to revolutionize like Uyo or Calabar. Yes, we have one of the most livable cities in Nigeria, but what do we have that others don't? We need to start thinking really big. Reading this alone, it is clear you haven't been to Uyo to warrant such comparison. |

Thetruthsayer10: but I thought Anambra ibo is central ibo or am I wrong You are very wrong. Igbo Izugbe (central Igbo) was developed as a result of dilectal differences in igbo in general. Its presence became increasingly important as Igbo linguists look for common words that everyone can understand. Their breakthrough is what u just google. It is the written/official form of Igbo language. You rearly see someone speaking it except profectionals like journalists, linguist or a highly skilled Igbo speaker. Now about the word 'Forest' or bush' Igbo izugbe = ohia Some dialects pronounce it as 'ovia' example Igweme in Enugu state. Some dialects pronounce it as 'ofia' example most dialects in anambra Some pronounce it 'ohia' as it can be seen in mostly imo and abia dialects. But there are others that pronounce it as 'ohie' like Uturu in Abia state and some pronounce it as 'ovie'. |

pazienza: Delta is a multiethinic state, with many Ukwuani and Ika people suffering from self hate (Igbophobia) and by extension, Biafra phobia. I don't expect Delta to do anything for him.
The onus is on SE governors to name an important monument after him. Anambra State University had been renamed Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Imo state University is now Evans Enwerem University, it's remaining Abia and Enugu state universities. Ebonyi FUNAI was recently renamed after Ekwueme, so it will be unfair to expect EBSU to be renamed this soon.
I think ABSU or ESUT should be renamed after Achuzia.
That's the right thing to do, if only we have thoughtful leaders.
Men who made personal sacrifices for the good of a people must be rewarded to encourage other members of the populace to imbibe such traits. I prefer ABSU's name to be changed to 'Joseph Achuzie University Uturu' JACU |
