Politics / Re: Hardship: Tinubu Won’t Resign – Mohammed Idris by malali: 4:38am On Feb 19
I see your minsters are finally waking up, get the other ministers out as well, make sure Nigerians know them by name, let them hold townhall meetings in their constituencies, and geo political areas. The ministers are younger than you, they should be doing the heavy lifting. As the president you should just have a 1-2hr meetings and then let them do the heavy lifting. Organize a ruthless sharp witted think tank "cabal" and let them do most of the decision making, just make sure none of them takes decisions alone, they should always discuss amongst themselves and you can veto at anytime.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development- Discuss food security, Short term plan and long term plan
Minister of Aviation- Open up travel to other countries, direct flights
Minister of Communications and Digital Economy- Its being over 8 months, lets hear your voice on pertinent issues
Minister of Defence- This is the clown threatening Nigerians about unguarded utterances, Get them to say it to Hardcore press and be grilled.
Minister of Education- Whats the long term plan and short term plan ?
Minister of Environment- What exactly are your plans short term and long term ?
Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning- Where do we stand in terms of finance, budget and NP. Explain what the fiscal looks like, Long term and short term.
Minister of Foreign Affairs- Nigeria's image could use some laundry at home and abroad, This man should be traveling more than the president, with goals not aimlessly.
Minister of Health - Should give us an account of what he met on ground ? Numbers of PHC ? Goals short term and long term.
Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment- Trade is really a big one, now Naira is low, wages are low, alot of companies can be enticed to set up offices in Nigeria, But trade minister has to pursue them.
Minister of Information and Culture- Come out of hiding, tell us your short term and long term goals.
Minister of Interior- Interior seems to hit the ground running, we have seen changes.
Minister of Justice- Justice, bring out some big looters and try them, More laws needed in the financial sector to regulate the currency beyond this administration.
Minister of Labour and Employment - Labour should talk to private sector to hire more people, as CSR, also come out unemployment rate in numbers, how they plan to reduce it, what are their long term goals and short term goals as well.
Minister of Mines and Steel Development- We should have turned precious metals to a natioanl revenue generator by now, Bring in investors, South Africa gold is a large source of revenue to the country. Is Nigeria stting on untapped Gold resources ? No white elephant project by governement. Private sectors can mine and if they discover anything substantial government can tax and regulate.
Minister of Niger Delta Affairs- We need to hear your voice ? What is the plan ?
Minister of Petroleum Resources - What is the plan ? Short term long term ? Revenue ? Barrels ? New refinery licenses should be auctioned.
Minister of Power - Do we need more privatization, what technologies are used in other 3rd world countries with 24/7 power supply ? A lot of 3rd world countries have power supply 24/7
Minister of Science and Technology- What farming modalities and animal husbandry can we bring in to feed 300 million Nigerians ?
Minister of Transportation- Made some noise about CNG, then it died down, regulate the current transporters operating all over the country, sell licenses to trailer companies that can carry food, raw materials across the country, There is so much that can be privatized in the transport industry. This can create millions of jobs for Nigerians and revenue for government.
Minister of Water Resources - Come out dont be shy, lets hear your voice.
Minister of Women Affairs-Come out dont be shy, lets hear your voice.
Minister of Works and Housing- This is another gold mine, in terms of Job creation and revenue generation for the government.
Minister of Youth and Sports Development - This is another gold mine, in terms of Job creation and revenue generation for the government. Start a national league, private sponsored, all the foreign companies running In Nigeria and wealthy Nigerians can invest, sponsor etc, Start nationally and grow internationally.

Let your minsters come out and engage, the noisemakers, on a quarterly basis, let them come out and say what they have done and what they are planning to do and what they have in the pipeline, let them take questions from Nigerians.

Dont let them be shouting Tinubu up and down,

You are setting a bad precedence, by allowing everyone to point at the president when things are not going well. Get them all involved.

Serving

Therefore brethren, select from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and of wisdom.

Acts 6: 3

Steve enrolled in the military force of the United States at age 27 serving his nation for 30 years. Despite having a degree in Law. Stephen chose to remain in the army to serve his nation despite several opportunities to work elsewhere. He got promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General by the age of 44 and was amongst those who restored peace to Iraq during the removal of its dictatorial leader.

Service requires great dedication and commitment. Some people have the heart to serve while some others do not. They prefer to sit on the sidelines. Service to the kingdom of God is one of the reasons we are saved. God brought us out of a life of sin so we can also reach out to those who have not known Jesus.

Service to God may require us to sacrifice our time and resources. It should not be done without zeal. God expects our service to him to be one that will set a good example to others.

Whether we made a voluntary decision to serve or whether we were appointed to serve, we must give God our all. Service can take different forms in the body of Christ. Not every one is called to be a drummer or an usher or a preacher but we must find a place to fix ourselves so we can serve God. Every member of the body of Christ is significant whether our roles make us popular or not.

talk about it

Have you been appointed to serve?

Do you desire to serve ?

In what ways can you advance the kingdom of God ?

Key Point: Service to God is an authentic way of surrender to God.

Prayer: Lord help me to serve you diligently. Amen

Amen . thank you

‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2:24‬ ‭NIV‬‬
[24] “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”

I made reference to the Bible passage for you to know that Christ has paid for your healing. Everything is done for you freely in Christ Jesus.
You need to surrender your life to Jesus and Obey His teachings. Being a Church goer does not qualify anyone as a family of God. The moment you give your life to Jesus all his promises in the Bible, He is willing to fulfill them in your life if you believe in his words.

If you are praying to God for healing, quote his words, remind him of his promises and believe you have gotten your result even before you see the answer coming. That's where most folks missed it. They want to have what they are praying for before they believe God has answered them whereas, it is the other way round. You have to believe God has done it and thank him for the answer, then you see results. This is not a Christian science both Bible truth.

‭‭Mark‬ ‭11:24‬ ‭NIV‬‬
[24] Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

https://bible.com/bible/111/mrk.11.24.NIV
You have to believe you have received it, patiently wait for it while thanking him for the answer prayers.
It won't work if we just have the head Knowledge of the Scripture only. We have to have the deep revelation of it. Just like a light is switched on in your room, the light of God's word must shine in your spirit. Once you caught the revelation of those God's word. You will be at peace. Then results will come.
Devil will fight so hard to talk you out of your healing, but if you hold firmly to God's word, confessing it and believing it in your heart. The results will come. 100%•
Stop looking at the symptoms in your body, you may be having and feeling the pains but look away from it. Keep looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith. Your healing will surely come. Don't backslide because of this.
Jesus loves you and cares for you.
It doesn't matter what caused your sickness; even if it is your own errors, Christ Jesus has paid for your healing. Just have faith and put your faith to work.
May the Lord God Almighty heal you in Jesus name. Pls, prayerfully seek for a Bible believing Church and join them in worshipping Almighty God.
Peace be unto you.

There is nothing new that you wrote that I have written for donkey years on the Internet! Nothing new. Mind you, it is not 2100, but 2050. By then, Nigeria would be an Islamic Republic. The name would be: the United African Republic (the release then was a teaser). Nothing would stop it unless the country divides. But here is the catch: for a country to divide in this century, there has to be a war. Kosovo, Sudan and Sudan are good examples. There has been no peaceful division of any country in this century and won't be any till thy kingdom come. Even that of Sudan was successful because the US supported South Sudan after the elites lobbied the Democratic and Republican Parties. Unlike Omar of Sudan, who ab initio was sanctioned by the West, the West LOVE Fulani elites, and in return, Fulani elites have worked their through eh corridors of Western powers.

Northern Christian elites tried doing the same by lobbying the Republican Party using the Evangelical Wing of the party. That recorded a bit of success as Trump called out the persistent butchering of Christians in Nigeria and enlisted the country on the list of countries that persecute Christians in the world. Just to state it here: there are more slain Christians in Nigeria than China or North Korea. Yes. A Christian from Benue would LIVE A LONG LIFE practicing his/her religion in Pyongyang than Markudi. That is a fact. Unfortunately, the work by Northern Christian elites was cut short by Trump losing the election and the Islamist lovey-dovey Democratic Party coming to power. Who was elected? Biden. Who did Buhari, the biggest patron of Fulani militia, meet few days before the 2015 election? Biden. Obadiah Mailafia was part of those Northern Christian elites who worked with the Evangelical Wing of the GOP to inform them of the atrocities Christians go through the north. What happened to him? The only way pressure can be continued, or at least publicity against the heinous slaughtering of Christians in the north, is if Trump wins this year. If Trump loses, forget it, that is the end. By then, the Evangelical Wing would focus on preserving the White dominance in the US. In other words, they would have to fight for their survival before someone else.

I am surprised you didn't mention the Muslim-Muslim presidency, which would ensure there is an uninterrupted Muslim presidency for 24 years! That is, Buhari, Tinubu and most likely El-Rufai (since the present VP is from the North East). Here is the plot: El-Rufai would choose a Muslim; after all, it was allowed for eight years. He did it in Kaduna, and the new governor continued from where he stopped. Once started, that is the end. It does not end. El-Rufai's VP would be Yoruba; I am thinking Fashola. 2015 - 2023, 2023 - 2031 and 2031 - 2039 all having Muslim presidents, with the last two having Muslim-Muslim presidents and vice. Yemi would be the last Christian elected to Aso Rock.

You also did not mention the silence of the fake pastors in Nigeria, especially the tie-knotting, British English speaking and UK/Canada/USA crusade hosting pastors and their gospel noisemakers musicians. Let me it state unequivocally that NO PROMIMENT PASTOR IN THE SOUTH except Oyedepo has condemned the brutal slaughtering of Christians in the north. None whatsoever! Nigeria has the highest concentration of wealthy pastors in the world, all located in the south. But none of them has offered succour to Christians in the north! None at all! In fact, none has organised a crusade in the north! In fact, the last time Adeboye was in the north was to solicit for the release of his RCCG members who were kidnapped. He met with the then governor, El-Rufai, who your lovey-dovey never-should-be-criticised-man-of-god described as "kind and caring man". Yes, one of Nigeria's most prominent, influential and wealthiest pastors called the governor of a state where Christians have been brazenly murdered as "kind and caring". What about Poju Oyemade, who invited El-Rufai for a talk show? Let's not forget the IFitness-gym loving pastor of Paul Adefarasin.

It is why I don't regard any pastor from the south. They are for their pockets! All your pastors have second citizenship. In fact, top RCCG and Winners Chapel pastors have either American or British passports. I see Christ Embassy as another church that can ensure the elite pastors possess second citizenships.

You have some ignorant Igbos (I met one yesterday) who believe that Igbo land cannot be Islamised. Don't mind them. In fact, islamising the region would be very easy. It is simple. Kill the men and marry the women. As you mentioned, it is happening in Enugu and there is a large Muslim population in Imo. You also mention the discoveries in Abia. Once Benue and Plateau are conquered this decade, the next focus would be on the south east. Once the region is conquered, that is the end, as the southeast contains the highest concentration of Christians in Nigeria. Islamise Igbos, and Nigeria becomes an Islamic Republic. The south south would be a walkover. You see, this ignorance many Nigerian Christians have is not even my issue, but the arrogance with which they have display it. I have met someone from Plateau and told him Plateau would be Fulanised, but he said "it cannot never happen" and "I exaggerate events and issues". It is the ignorance and arrogance that makes not to pity Christians in Nigeria. As I told the ignorant and arrogant Igbo lad yesterday, I would stop discussing Nigeria's future till when events unfold completely. But one thing is clear, I would GLOAT, MOCK AND DERIDE all your tie-knotting pastors and hand-waving Christians. I am so goooooood at gloating at people I warned.

In fact, my wish is to be somewhere in the Caribbean laughing when Nigeria becomes an Islamised Republic! I would never deactivate this account because I would be here to MOCK, DERIDE, SCORN, GLOAT, SNEER and SPIT at their faces. It would give me the stiffest erection, which I would use to fvck Carribeans baddies while their sons slam heads five times daily wearing 3-quarter trousers and your daughters adorn the Niqab like 21st century masquerades!

Nigeria would be Islamised, nothing will stop it. Trump's emergence might slow things, but if he loses, that is the end.

Politics / Governor Eno pays Tribute to Late Ombo Isokariari, Felicitates Wife, Daba At 70 by Browndiary(m): 12:59pm On Feb 18
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has attributed his penchant for inclusiveness, integrity, thoroughness and efficiency in service delivery to his early interactions with the Isokariari family, as he felicitates Mrs Daba Isokariari at 70.

Mrs Isokariari is the widow of the founding Pastor of Port Harcourt-based
Overcomers Ministry of Believers Fellowship, a founding father and Trustee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and astute businessman, late Bishop Ombo Isokariari.

Governor Eno was speaking as a special guest at the 70th birthday celebration of Mrs Daba Isokariari held at the Aztech Arcum Event Centre in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

He described the Isokariari matriarch as a mother with a large heart, thanking God for her life and strength to sustain the legacies of her late husband, saying her early tutelage shaped his early life, public service and orientation.

"I'm from Akwa Ibom State but lived here for a better part of my life and I thank God for the exposure. That was my very first exposure to public service. Little did I know that God was preparing me for a day like this.

"So coming back here is a home coming and an opportunity to say to Mummy, thank you so much. Thank you for your large heart. Thank you for bringing all of us together and making us your children. I want to assure you that we will continue to stand by you and support you," he stated.

Recalling his upbringing under the watchful eyes of late Bishop Isokariari who then served successive federal governments and the people in various capacities, Governor Eno said his presence at the event was in appreciation of the values inculcated in him and the kindness he received in the process.

He said the late Isokariari was his first teacher on inclusiveness, integrity, result-oriented public service and thoroughness before his political godfather and immediate past governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel, while his wife, Daba, demonstrated unfettered love and kindness towards him.

"Daddy and mummy led us well with integrity. They taught us the principle of inclusiveness as well as strive for excellence how you can always do things and conclude things thoroughly. We learnt that in every assignment given, you'll always come back and brief Daddy about it. He was the first man that taught me that you don't give excuses but you bring results.

"The second man that thought me this is my political godfather, Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel. They will tell you don't talk about efforts, but report results, then you can talk about the efforts that you put into bringing about the results. With that, it's easier to get approvals," he emphasized.

Governor Eno attended the birthday celebration with a State delegation comprising Secretary to the State Government , Prince Enobong Uwah, Some State Executive Council members, CEO, HENSEK Integrated Services, Engr. Uwem Okoko, among others .

if we remove every sentiment and bias, this boy has earned the right to be entered into the convo. In fact we shouldn’t even be speaking o Sadiq Umar. Akor Adams has been experiencing a goal draught since notching 7 goals in Ligue . Who is REALLY better so far this season.

When players show interest in Nigeria, people will bring in bias. When they don’t declare na still problem. Do we really like progress?. By the way all the SE players that made the official AFCON XI are dual citizens who committed to us. Wetin we wan talk now?

I knew Elijah when he was at Fulham, at 16 he was already 6"3 plus and that time l likened him to Kanu he was very skilful.

Fulham at a stage had one of the best football ⚽ academies in England then we use to call them the Nigerians so many Nigerian origin players.

The role he has to play in Luton town doesn't allow for to much skill or maybe 🤔 the skill has been trained out of him in the quest for end product.

But he is a powerful athletic very good striker, he has scored 9 goals and theu play Manchester United this afternoon don't think they can beat an in form United but then you never know. It is the EPL.

They have a few to quality players who are finding their way back to top level performances, like Townsend, Barkley etc

Osho is a CB of Nigerian origin he is good but not the best, Ogbene plays for Ireland although he was born in Lagos.

If Adebayo gets a goal he will have scored 10 this season and counting from 24 games that's very good.

Politics / Re: My Conclusion On Nigeria After About 8 Months Of Traveling Across Rural Areas. by Gerrard59(m): 9:52am On Feb 18
tomtomastom4:
I and my colleagues travelled to rural areas across all region in Nigeria, sensitizing the villagers on the need for having bank account. This is under our financial inclusion drive. After our journey, I can say that Nigeria is blessed beyond measures, we have too many resources and tourist areas that can bring in huge revenues to the locals and the govt also... But thats not the reason why am creating this thread.

My reasons for creating this thread are as follow:

1) If status quo remain, Nigeria will be conquered by the Fulanis before the year 2100. Let me not expose much, before some people will come for my head, but by the year 2100, the population of Christians to Muslims in Nigeria will be around 85%muslims and 15percent christians.

The traditional rulers across all the state and locality will be emirs, all the elected officials across the arms and ranks of gov will be muslims. Some states name could be renamed because it may sound offensive to them. You will no longer hear "Obi of this", "Eze of that", "Oba of there" "Olu of here", "sarki of this" etc all you will be hearing is emir, emir, emir and emir.... Kwara is a case study.

These armed men flow in from the entire west africa and gradually take cover in our forest. Its only time that will reveal their plans.

Gerrard59:
This pastor, just like his other pastorprenuers, whose churches have branches in only economically viable states and Abuja, has never condemned the continuous, consistent and relentlessly butchering of Christians in Northern Nigeria. In fact, no megachurch General Overseer has whispered, let alone murmured, as to why Nigeria has the highest number of slain Christians globally than even an atheist nation such as China. Meanwhile, Nigeria has some of the richest pastors in the world, and actually in Africa.

It is why I am not moved or fazed by what a Nigerian pastor of a church based in the south has to say. There is nothing they know about the Bible that I don't know. The day anyone who knows me off Nairaland sees me in a church in Southern Nigeria, know that I am there to hunt for toto to fvck. Nothing else. I will be there to hunt for beautiful, naive, and sometimes confused ladies to have sexual romps with. I will have them give me different sex styles ranging from cowgirl to missionary to reverse cowgirl to spooning. As icing on the cake, I will request for exhilarating anal rimming, then continue to a sensational BJ which will end with me cu.ming on their delightful faces then finish off with cu.mming into their mouths. After which, they swallow my hot cu.m. I rather watch paint dry off the wall than listen to whatever a so-called mOG of a church in the south has got to spew, whereas none has condemned the killing of Christians in the north.

Modafvckers!

My dear friend also asked this question and here are the responses: https://www.nairaland.com/6702307/whats-future-southern-nigeria-north

I also predicted the same thing immediately after Tinubu's victory: https://www.nairaland.com/7621766/tinubus-nigeria-nigeria-2050

In fact, I created this thread because I knew if Tinubu won APC's presidential ticket, he would choose a Muslim as his vice: https://www.nairaland.com/6794669/question-tinubus-supporters

Waiting on a Promise

A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse;
from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.
2 The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him

Isaiah 11:1&2

Philly has been working in a shopping mall since he relocated to Great Britain 10 years back. He has been seeking a good job in another City. A job in Fashion and Designs. He is yet to get the kind of job he desires in the area where he intends to use his skill.

Waiting for something we expect can be burdensome. While we wait we can become weary. Even when our waiting is done with prayers and faith. In the Bible God promised his people Israel that he will bring a messiah who will put an end to their sufferings and pain. It took many years and yet Jesus had not come. Many were already getting despondent by the waiting.

Anna the Prophet was among those waiting for Jesus. She finally met baby Jesus and seeing him gave her great joy. We can praise God whenever he fulfills his promise and we can still praise him while we wait on him to fulfill his promises because he doesn’t fail.

talk about it

How long have you waited on God ?

How do you comfort yourself as you wait?

Key Point: We can wait on God knowing he will keep to his promises

Prayer: Father I thank you for all you have done for me help me to praise you while I wait for you to do your work.

Born to Do It

Before I formed you in your mom’s womb. I have known you and already set you aside to give prophecies to nations.

Jeremiah 1:5

December 29 2022 saw the passing away of Brazilian football legend Pele. What a great footballer he was, winning three world cups and scoring over 750 official goals to his credit. Pele was a football genius. A master goal scorer and when once asked about his abilities he said ” I was born for football as Beethoven was for Music and Michael Angelo was for painting”

When babies are born. We cannot really know them as humans. Even with the scientific help of ultrasounds .We can only identify some of their possible traits and characteristics. But God is not like us humans.

Long time ago, Jeremiah already wrote about God’s words about his calling to be a prophet. God had given Jeremiah a prophetic mandate. God has a purpose and a proposal for our lives and we can get to that purpose by listening with a soft heart what God has said about us.

We can see Jeremiah’s life in parallel with his calling. As we set out to do what God has gifted us to do may we do it with the zeal, desire and dexterity with which we have been greatly endowed. May we also not be distracted by contrary opinions in our bid to carry out our assignment.

talk about it

What has God gifted you to do ?

How can Jeremiah’s case guide you?

Key Point: God gifts us to do a thing in accordance with his purpose.

Prayer: Lord guide me as I follow your calling for my life.

Dear God,
Today I write my last words to you. My heart is so heavy. I cannot speak to you audibly. It's been a month and six days since I opened my mouth to talk to you. I am so bruised and broken, so lost and confused. I never wanted to speak to you again but since today will be my last here on earth, I might just as well write this letter to you and break my silence.

Dear God, I am tired of this damn life. I'm tired of trying to make it work when it's only getting worse. I'm sick of the frustration and desperation I have to face. I'm sick of everyone telling me how I've failed. I'm sick of being judged, criticized and condemned.
The world you made is a prison, this life you gave me is a cell and guess what? You are the prison warder. I don't need to tell you why I've come to this conclusion. I don't need to explain why I'm sick of this life you gave me. You already know what I went through- what you allowed me go through. You are responsible for all the wrong that I experienced. I served you faithfully for many years but you allowed me suffer. Why shouldn't I take my life away? Why shouldn't I pierce myself with this knife that is before me? Life is a living hell so I might just well die, but before I bleed to death, let me appease myself and conscience.

I want to give you a piece of my mind and tell you how I feel. I feel hurt, betrayed by you and deceived. Why did you promise me a good life when all I got was wretchedness? I will remind you of how it all started and why I am justified to take my life.

I was a victim of abuse when I was a kid. I was four years when my step dad started abusing me sexually. I cried every time it happened till I could not cry anymore. I hated him so much and wished he died. But he continued molesting me until I became 11. I don’t know why he suddenly stopped after I turned 11. All I can remember is that he stopped tiptoeing into my room at midnight and stopped calling me into his room when Mom was not at home. I didn’t tell anyone about it except my best friend Anna. When she heard it, she asked me to close my eyes, she took my little hands in hers and whispered a prayer, “Lord, please make this mountain go away.”

Now that I think about that incident, I can’t help but wonder if you were the one who made that mountain go away. Perhaps it was you because not long after Anna prayed with me, my step dad stopped molesting me. I have to thank you for that, but that is just one thing I can say I am grateful to you about.

My stepdad left my mom soon after and we were plunged into poverty. I remember how she struggled with raising me and my three siblings. She entered one debt to another just trying to pay our school fees, feed us and clothe us. Nevertheless, she remained faithful to you. She believed in you, prayed to you, devoted her time to the church and raised us up to believe in you. We all believed in you and prayed you would turn our poverty around. But what did you do? You sat up there in your throne and watched us in silence as if our prayers were nothing. How could you be so cruel to people who believed in you and devoted their lives to serving you? We were taught that you were a loving God who answered the prayers of those who trusted in you, but you left us to suffer.

We suffered mockery from people around us. We couldn’t pay our bills, we were frequently sent home from school due to our inability to pay the fees on time and we barely managed to feed. My mom turned down several offers from men because she wanted to obey your words, but instead of blessing her, you only watched as things became worse. There was even a time I was down with malaria and she could not take me to hospital. I became so sick and I almost died. I started convulsing and felt life going away from me, my sister got hold of my hands and started praying, “You shall not die Delight, I rebuke every spirit of death hovering around you. You shall live to declare the goodness of the Lord. Delight, you shall live and not die. Your purpose on earth must come to pass.” From my semi-conscious state, I heard her shout those words and I slowly came back to consciousness.

I think I owe that miracle also to you. I realize I could have died at that point but it was you who delivered me from the hands of death. Alright, you got me. But what’s the point of being alive when nothing good comes out of it?

You let my mom die just when I graduated from high school. You took her away when we needed her most. I was forced to abandon my plans of going to the university and start working menial jobs to feed myself and my siblings. Why did you take away our only hope? God, you had no right! You plunged me and my siblings into a life of grief, sorrow and more suffering. It was totally unfair. If it had not been for one of my mother’s distant relatives who asked us to come and stay with her, we would not have been able to cope. Thankfully, she was wealthy and generous and insisted I go to the university.

Yes, again I think I owe you thanks at this point because I saw that it was you who made a way for me to have a university degree. I was at a loss on how it would be possible but you came through for me and my siblings by touching the heart of Aunt Rose who sponsored my university degree and that of my younger sister. My brothers, James and John, were sponsored to finish their secondary education. I can’t say I am not grateful for that.

The greatest regret I have is meeting Oxford after my NYSC. God, you knew all along that he was a bad person yet you didn’t stop me from having a relationship with you. After my one year mandatory service to the nation, I got a job at a bank and started trying to fix myself. Oxford was a colleague at work who showed me unreserved attention. He was always there to cheer me up and advise me on what to do. I never knew he was a snake in a green grass. You knew his character God, yet you never warned me. I know Stephen and Karen met me on different occasions to warn me not to befriend him. I thought they said that out of jealousy. Alright, I realize that you could have been using them to save me, but how was I to know they meant well for me.

Oxford promised to get married to me and we started dating. He told me he had a business he wanted to fund and led me to take a huge loan in my name to support him. Aside that, he also stole money from the bank and somehow found a way of framing me up for the theft. After he made away with the money, I was arrested and accused of conniving with him to steal from the bank.

He was nowhere to be found. All the little assets I had managed to acquire were confiscated and my reputation was tainted. If not for the intervention of Aunt Rose who came to bail me, I would still be in jail. The case has been taken to court and I am to appear there soon. I have no money to repay the theft, I have lost my job and assets, my image has been tainted and the worse news is that I just found out I am pregnant for that good-for-nothing Oxford.

Tell me now God why I should not end my life with this knife in my hands? Is there hope for me to come out of this court case? Even if I do, how do stand the shame I have put myself into?

(silence)

(silence)

Before I bleed Lord, can I say a prayer?

Before I bleed Lord, can you intervene in the crisis I have found myself?

Before I bleed Lord, I ask that You step into my life and move away this mountain like you did when I was eleven, fifteen, seventeen and all the times you stepped in my situation when I felt that there was no hope anymore.

I have tossed my knife away. There are tears in my eyes now. I know it will be difficult but I leave all my burdens at your feet. I can’t take away my life because it is not mine to take. I lay it before you. You once bled for me, let that blood now speak.

Your Beloved Daughter,
Delight.

The end.

Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by JohnZak: 5:09pm On Feb 15
Be ready to speak about yourself – educational background, research background, previous internships and work experiences that may tie into your PhD program interest. talk about previous conference presentations, published papers, previous awards, or papers that garnered media attention (if any of these apply to you).

Be ready to talk about how you selected this program, your research interest(s) and how a prospective doctoral training enables you fulfill your research interest and career goals. Clearly articulate your research interest and state how your research interest ties to the work of current faculty. I do not know if you identified a graduate advisor/mentor during your application but if you did, ensure that you state that your work is aligned with that graduate advisor’s work. If you did not, look through the faculty page and state that how your prospective research work will benefit from the similar work done by specific faculty. Also, be prepared to talk about career goals after your PhD - academia or something else.

You may be asked about behavioral questions -- things like your strengths, weaknesses, how you handle workplace dispute, and how you work with difficult co-workers. When you respond, respond with examples of previous experiences. Avoid just listing your strengths or weakness, include examples of situations where your strengths were demonstrated. Think about potential weakness and try and turn that into a strength. There are examples of this online. Even if you may not have worked with a difficult coworker, you can let them know how you would handle this if you are ever in a situation like this.

If you know the panel members who will be interviewing you, you can google them to have an idea of their research areas. If it is not too late, try emailing current students who work with them to get an idea of who they are and you can even state this during the interview. This will demonstrate some genuine interest in the program.

Finally, remember to talk slowly, breathe, smile, and demonstrate enthusiasm about the program and how it fits with your career goals. I do not know if you have any idea of the city where the university is located, but you can state that your interest in the city is another factor behind your interest in the program.

Have about 3-4 questions prepared for the panelists. You will likely have an opportunity to ask them questions. Think deeply about the questions and make sure that they are relevant – things like program funding for assistantships, program funding for conference presentations, graduate mentorship, opportunities to publish first-authored papers etc.

Don’t forget to send each of them a thank you email after the interview thanking them for their time, how the interview has solidified your interest in their program, and that you are looking forward to starting the doctoral program in Fall 24.

If you are in Nigeria, it goes without saying to ensure that you have uninterrupted power and internet supply during your interview.

Good luck with your interview!!

tellbiodun:

Mind- Binding Spirits

Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:7

Lisa lives in Northern Nigeria and was born there. She owns a school and desires to establish another one in the South. While her school has flourished over the years in the North her true vision is to see it established also in Port Harcourt. Lisa once had
a strong faith that it would be done in a matter of time but somehow reality has altered her belief and she finds herself doubting despite having prayed and gotten confirmation from God.

Have you ever reached a place in your walk with God where you begin to doubt things you previously believed?
It may be strange and difficult to comprehend. It can lead to you loosing the vision you have in your heart if it persists.

Satan knows your faith is like a muscle and the more you exercise it the more you are likely to see progress so he may try to infringe your faith by attacking your mind with severe doubt and unbelief. When a mind-binding spirit attacks it can result in loss of faith and vision.

As Christians we have to learn to decide to believe. God will always give us faith for things that are big because our natural minds will likely not be in agreement with them. A believer may know something in her heart but her mind may war against it.

If you're having problems believing what God had already declared to you begin to pray against the mind-binding spirit so you can be liberated.

talk about it

What vision have you previously believed that you are struggling to now accept?

Have you engaged in prayer against mind-binding spirits?

Key Point: The mind of the believer is like a muscle that can be improved by constant faith and belief.

Prayer : Lord please deliver me from every spirit of doubt and lack of belief in what you have told me.

Religion / Re: No Dallas Jenkins, Mormons Are NOT Our "Brothers And Sisters" by OLAADEGBU(m): 2:17pm On Feb 13
Oyinbo1886:
"If anyone knows the Bible..."...I would say that the very "Christians" that wrote this piece of trash don't know their own Bible.

I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for going on 37 years, was not born into it, but converted from the Southern Baptist faith, which is very mainstream here. Half the arguments posted here are regurgitated garbage that anyone can find in an anti-LDS tract. I know because I live in the Bible Belt (Georgia, USA), and I served a 2-year mission in Poland.

I couldn't care less who Dallas Jenkins is, Marie Osmond, or any "Mormon Notables". I despise "church culture" because it promotes ignorance and teaches tradition instead of doctrine, the same holding true for any other sect of Christianity.

Agreed. Bible doctrine cannot be equated with church culture. The doctrines of the Bible is the way to go because the Scriptures is God-breathed.

Oyinbo1886:

"First of all, Do we really believe that God the Father and Jesus Christ both made a personal visit to a man to tell him that all other Churches were corrupt and an abomination and that he was the true prophet that would 'restore the Church'?" Who is the we in this question? Roman Catholics believe that the Messiah appeared to people all the time. Would you consider them any less Christian? Did you even go farther back to find out the reason behind the events? In Joseph Smith's own testimony, he was seeking an answer through James 1:5, period. Or do people believe that God changes and does not reveal himself as He did to Moses (Exodus 33:11). And no, that passage is not meant in the figurative sense, the Hebrew clearly states that it was face to face. So, who is to say that neither God nor Jesus Christ can do the same 2,000 years later, unless that person believes in a God that changes, and He doesn't.

Some questions for you to answer: Who witnessed Joseph Smith's experience? Can his story be corroborated by anyone? Mohammad said angel Gabriel appeared to him, who else witnessed it? Should we just go by their words because they said it? Are their words God-breathed?

Oyinbo1886:

"Secondly, Smith states even more blasphemous nonsense when he claims that an 'Angel from Heaven' named Moroni visited him to show him where some golden plates were buried to help him establish what would be later called “Another Testament of Jesus Christ”. Revelation 14:6-7 prophesied this. "Blasphemous nonsense" according to whom?

Galatians 1:6-7 is being taken entirely out of context here. This was addressed specifically to the Galatians. The Judaizers had infiltrated the congregation and started preaching adherence to the Law of Moses, something that Paul was against. So, he wrote an epistle to them to set them straight. If you read the entire New Testament, as I have, you will find that many of the congregations have started practicing false teachings, even some of the 7 churches in Revelation. So that argument dead based on scripture that was meant in an entirely historical context.

"Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on Him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead" (Romans 4:23-24; 15:4)

All Scriptures are written for our learning...that we may have hope. Why do you think that epistle was included in the Scriptures if it was only to be for the Galatian church? It reveals the historical context just as it applies to us spiritually.

Oyinbo1886:

"Now let's talk about what these people believe..." According to whom?

"Mormon leaders have taught that Jesus’ incarnation was the result of a physical relationship between God the Father and Mary." Which leaders? What is your source? Do you have a quote from these leaders or was this given for purposes of sensationalism?

"Mormons believe Jesus is a god..." Got news for you, so does every other person that believe the Bible with understanding. Read John 1:1, especially where it says the Word [Jesus Christ] was with God, and the word [again, Jesus Christ] was God.

"but that any human can also become a god." Again, so does every other person that believes the Bible with understanding. Genesis 1:26-27 says that we are formed in His image. Just like children have the potential to become like their fathers, we have that same potential. Also, Romans 8:17 implies that we will become joint-heirs with Christ, meaning we will have that same inheritance should we live worthliy enough to do so. The word for joint-heirs in Greek is συγκληρονόμος, which means " one who obtains something assigned to himself with others, a joint participant".

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1:1).

Wrong. Jesus is God, not a god as other cults such as Jw claim in their NWT bible.

Oyinbo1886:

"Mormonism teaches that salvation can be earned by a combination of faith and good works." James 2:20. Faith alone does not save, apoint that the Apostle James drives home throughout the chapter.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Salvation is not earned it is a gift given to those who believe in the finished work of Christ on the Cross. The works that emanates from a saved life is what counts in the sight of God it is not what you worked for.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23).

Oyinbo1886:

"According to Mormonism, it is believed that God the Father was once a mortal man who became a god, possessing an immortal and physical body. However, this contradicts what is mentioned in the Bible, which states that God has always been a spirit and has never been a man. Moreover, the Bible emphasizes that a spirit does not have a physical form." Really? Then why in the scriptures does it mention "the hand of God", "the finger of God", "eyes of God", etc. if God has no body? The argument is drawn from John 4:24. So, let's look at the entire verse instead of half-truthing it.

"God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." (John 4:24 KJV). So, if God is a spirit, and it says that we must worship him in spirit, then that interpretation implies that we cannot worship him while in our body, as it says "we must worship him in spirit"...so that interpretation is blatantly false. Also, if we are created in the image of God, according to Gen. 1:26-28, then that means we must also be spirits, and cannot have a body, because the verse says that we are created in His image. The interpretation that God does not have a body is not from the Bible, but from neo-Platonism, and it contradicts other passages in the Bible.

It depends on what you understand by the phrase: "to worship God in spirit and truth."

Oyinbo1886:

"Lastly, Mormons do not believe in the traditional Trinity but instead consider it to consist of three distinct gods" Yes, Latter-Day Saints do reject the doctrine of the trinity for the simple reason that it is not Biblical. Nowhere is the word Trinity mentioned in the Bible nor was it ever referred to as such until the Athanasian Creed came into existence about the 4th century A.D, 3 centuries after the Bible was written.

Can you show me anywhere in the authorised version of the Bible where the word grandfather is written? If it cannot be found should we then conclude that there are no grandfathers in the Bible days going by your line of thought? undecided

Oyinbo1886:

"Lastly, Christ warned himself about anyone adding to the Bible. 'For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book'." I find it laughable that the source verse wasn't cited, but then, that's a typical game that anti-LDS play, they will quote scripture and not even know where it comes from. First of all, it is in Revelation 22:18-19. Second, "this book" does not refer to the Bible itself, but the Book of Revelation, which John was writing. and that is evident from the Greek word τοῦ βιβλίου, which is genitive singular referring to one book, the book of Revelation. The word "Bible" is taken from the Greek τὰ βιβλία, meaning "the books", plural. Therefore, the book of prophecy mentioned in this citation does not refer to the Bible, but only the Book of Revelation. We also know from Biblical history that the 3 epistles of John (1, 2, and 3, John) were written after the Book of Revelation according to many chronologies. So was John cursing himself when he wrote those epistles?

"This book" refers to the all Scriptures which are God breathed. (The 66 books of the Bible). Read Deuteronomy 4:2; 12:32; Proverbs 30:6.

Oyinbo1886:

It never ceases to amaze me that in order for people to tear down a faith that they disagree with, they will resort to trickery, shege, innuendo, and false interpretations of the Bible to achieve their objective. They would do well to heed 2 Timothy 2:15, because the arguments presented in the previous anti-LDS polemic clearly shows a lack of serious Biblical scholarship and research.

If you read the following chapter (2 Timothy 3:16) you will realise that it says "All Scripture" which are God-breathed and that is the 66 books of the God breathed Words of God which should not be altered, added to nor subtracted from.

Gradually Coming

But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!" (Habakkuk 2:3 LB

Blaise Alexander worked on his book " Coming " for twelve years before eventually publishing it. He narrated the many periods of confusion he went through in putting the work together. He expected it to take two years but it took twelve good years before it came to limelight.

Plans don't always come as we expect them. Even visions take even longer. Your delayed vision may not be as a result of anything you have not considered or done. Sometimes when God gives us a vision it may take a long time before we see it come to pass. It may take years and we may go through different seasons. Season of preparations. God will sometimes stretch your faith to see if you will still believe in his vision.

God is working on you as much as he is working on the vision. The Bible says " These plans won't happen immediately. You may need to be tenacious about it. People and sitiations may attempt to trip you as you head for the right destination but you have to make it and you will.

talk about it

Are you stressed by the journey of your dreams ?

Key Point: God's vision for your life is a gradual process that requires patience and tenacity.

Prayer: Lord please help me to be tenacious as I walk towards the vision you have given me.

sometimes whn I read comments from nonentities like you i just shake my head.

first you have never been to anambra state, you cant even locate anambra on the map but you still spew rubbish you are told to spew on social media.

peter obi set up anambra state to the level that no state in Nigeria can ever match - NOT EVEN LAGOS.

education: the legacy peter obi set in education in anambra is what other governors has been benefiting since he left office. other governors can attest to that.
Peter obi made it a must that every child must attend free primary and secondary education in anambra state and he went further and subsidized education levies in all private primary and secondary schools. to date, anambra still enjoys free quality education in all government primary and secondary school. go and verify!

security: before peter obi became governor of anambra state, by 4.30pm, everyone will be running home bc if bad boys catch you, your name will be sorry. armed robbery, kidnapping, thieves, etc were running amok allover the state. banks close by 3pm, schools close by 2pm, it was a total state capture by criminals. when obi became governor, he clear the state of criminals within 6 months!

Health: should i talk about health? are you even aware that obi was the first to initiate free quality healthcare for children and the elderly in every local government hospital which he set up in every local government in the state and that legacy is still on till date! go and verify!

pensioners: anambra state is the first state to digitize pension in Nigeria unde peter obi - Federal government copied PTAD from anambra state pension model tell me when you last heard that pension is owed in anambra state?? go and verify!

Obi left so many legacies in anambra that we are everly very grateful to him to date! we gave him land slide vote in anambra state because of the wonderful work he did for us.

WE JUST ALLOW UNA TO DEY FOOL UNA SELF WITH USELESS PROPAGANDA OVER PETER OBI AND WHAT HE WOULD AVE DONE FOR NIGERIA - LAST LAST NA UNA LOSE WOEFULLY!

You dey talk like mumu. Talking like you know everything. Calling people stupid because you think you knows what you are talking about, but alas, you are the stupid one here. Vietnam dong for instance, is useless, 1 dollar is 24,500 dong. But still, Vietnam is 64% cheaper than the united states. You think is because of exchange rate things are getting harder and harder? Well that's because that is what they want you to believe. I won't argue more with you, because it might seems like a waste.

What matters most to all countries is standard of living and not just exchange rate. The basic calculation for standard of living is gdp per capita (ppp) but this doesn’t reflect inequalities.

Countries like South Korea and Vietnam have gdp per capitals of $34,997.78 and $13,461, whereas Nigeria’s is $4,963.16.
What this implies is that the average Vietnamese is 2.7, and the average South Korean is 7.05 richer than the average Nigerian.
