Wike's mode of governing maybe thuggish and unethical atimes, but reading from this speech, his points cannot be faulted one bit.
The most annoying part of this revenue drive by states is the fact that the North East and NorthWest are destroying goods and properties of those dealing in alcohol and related hotel and leisure businesses but still want to share in the revenue of southern states that collect taxes from those companies, industries and businesses dealing in alcohol!
That is pure robbery!!Which is one of the major points Wike highlighted.

Properties › Re: 3 Bedroom Flat For Rent At Alagimeji, Yaba(ground Floor) @ N1.3million(negotiabl by seborrhic: 12:50pm On Sep 05, 2021
Saynoomore:
It's quite surprising that properties on that axis are skyrocketing without consideration for current harsh economic realities! Landlords and Agents are mercilessly ripping residents off in that area, as well as neighbourhoods such as Akoka, Gbagada, & Yaba. The high demands for rental apartments by students and staff of higher institutions within that area (UNILAG, YabaTech, FCT Akoka etc) as well as easy access to the Third Mainland bridge actually made the demand even higher. No 3 bedroom flat goes for less than N1mil in these areas mentioned. With Agency and Legal fees, you are spending not less than N1.5mil. The funny thing is that the buildings are extremely old fashioned buildings (as shown in the pics here, without modern floor or wall tiles) and built with less than 500k at the time they were built!
You were making plenty of sense till u reached the bolded. The value of ₦500k you estimated at the time the house was built, say 30-40 years ago is equivalent to ₦30-₦50 million it would take to mount same structure today.
So 500k then can never be same as today.
Politics › Re: Despite Huge Pay, Senators, Reps, Fleece Aides by seborrhic: 12:07pm On Sep 05, 2021
Focusmind:
Height of wickedness and Greed that's is common among Nigerians. These officials hardly pay their aids their allowances. I don't know why they should be the one receiving the salaries and allowances of their aids.

When my uncle was at the peak of his career, his company was paying his driver, cook, security guard and personal assistant. He wasn't given the money to pay them. Though he had the right of first refusal on whom to hire as aide.
The company(in this case the wages commission) is still the one paying. But what these senators and reps do is put in the names of those whose account the salary would go to as their official aides, then employ the actual workers who are then paid a percentage of the salary by the official receivers.
The other scheme is employing actual workers who are also the official account name bearers but tell them they will be remitting a good percentage of their salaries to the senators/reps.
No matter how they do it, Nigerians will be corrupt when they enter into office because the system is corrupt from top to bottom.
It's a hopeless situation and those now condemning these people would do exactly the same are they to be in their position.

See how shameless these politicians are.
Many of them their feeding, employment, family welfare and livelihood depends on being paid in one way or the other by government.
Once they are totally cut off from government, not being in power again, not having contracts or being paid humongous pension benefits, they begin to struggle in life.
Politics › Re: See What My Father Brought Out When I Complained Of Hardship In The City by seborrhic: 9:21pm On Sep 04, 2021
RealSolution001:
So I went to the village and was having a discussion with my father. The discussion went to a point I was lamenting how life has become so hard in the city such that as a single young man, you can't cook soup without doing away with minimum of 5k. That is for a single young man o, not to talk of family setting. My father paused, sighed, stood up and went inside his room. Not too long he came out with the photograph attached.

How times fly. How did we completely deviate from the track to where we are now?

I can only imagine what a dollar was to naira then as compared to today.

#copied
Tomorrow the person you copied it from and you the op that posted it to validate the assertion would claim to be educated.
How much was salary back then compared to now?
Yes,there is high inflation and Buhari's incompetence has led Nigeria down the abyss, but I expect enlightened and even just averagely educated people to use their education and higher information knowledge via the beauty of the internet to reason like one.
The price of coke and other comparative foodstuff in America and other western countries that same year u are basing your illogical reasoning on,are they the same today?
If an assumed educated person in Nigeria still reasons this way today,u only give reason to understand why some white folks still believe blacks are inherently inferior in intellect and reasoning faculty and why someone like Buhari is our president.
Reason and post like an educated person or at least make attempt to act like one

There is no hope for this country,I can now confirm. Its all man on his/her own struggle because even assumed educated people you thought had working brain matter, are even as dull and senile as the current one governing.

Politics › Re: Fulani Herdsmen: Oyedepo Describes Buhari’s Government As "Bloodthirsty" by seborrhic: 10:17am On Sep 02, 2021
I may not like this man for some of his preachings, but on this Buhari matter, he has been spot-on 200%.
If we had the likes of Ortom and Oyedepo,Buhari, despite being inherently dull and now senile, would have been forced by those around him to steer Nigeria in a different course.
I also blame America.
GEJ did less than 1/100th the horrors and evil Buhari has unleashed by commission or omission, yet they put the heat on him.
See this government intimidating and arresting people exercising their right to free speech and assembly, muzzling the press, banning Twitter, extra judicial killings and killings/kidnappings by bandits and Islamic terrorists at an all time high, yet they have kept mute.
Nigerians as a collective are known for being historically hopeless cowards in enforcing change of government, course and direction, because clannishnesss and nepotism guides their very action. If a devil, like we have today, were to be Nigeria's president and carries out all the Satanic acts he is known for,as is happening now too,his ethnic/religious group, particularly if he is a northerner, would support him,as has been manifestly evident with the north and Buhari since 2016 when it was clear failure, disaster, sorrow, tears and blood was his destiny.

Citygal:
Ok, you talked about products and services, developed countries like USA, UK, Canada, German and co. that pay workers on a hourly rate, are people not able to afford these things?

Instead, your job function will be rated and reviewed based on its worth.
Salary being calculated on hourly rate doesn't mean they are paid hourly na!
Why is it that comprehension is getting more difficult over here!!Some posts make you wonder how educated some people are.

Hand is touching them.
The indirect perpetrators of the havoc the North is undergoing under Buhari are the Northern elites, particularly those not in goverment and not feeding from this evil government. They are all witnesses to the evil the man is and how he has turned the north to the wild, wild west, yet don't have the simple guts to publicly say it out.
If everyone of them or many had been voicing this kind of anger and saying the truth,it would have percolated down the commoners and they would have been trooping out calling for Buhari to step down. With that kind of pressure, his appointees would have been courageous enough to say it to him or indirectly been putting pressure on the nass to at least serve him notice of impeachment.
But they are being slaughtered, made homeless and famished and yet they all keep licking his a rse.
Horrible people!

Buhari's negative records continues to manifest in every sector that even a goat can do better than him. Nigeria has been destroyed beyond redemption by this heartless Junta. Only God can save us
The man is without redemption.
Forget the over used phrase of how Nigerians were warned;how could he be voted in for a second term, etc. The question that should necessitate a possible study and even conference is:'how can one human being be so dull that even with national resources and assets at his command,he ran a country to the ground;TWICE with THREE TERMS,one under a military rule?"
My hypothetical answer is that his inborn bigotry and clannishnesss stunted or even erased any development his brain could have achieved over his years of existence. He unconsciously traded his brain growth for bigotry and nepotism, resulting in his unrivalled failure.
I have said it severally, give this present man 10 four year terms, failure would always be the result.

How do they even get the right culprits if they damn hurriedly bury the corpse without waiting for an autopsy or even for the police to investigate the crime scene with the corpse or at least take pictures of the corpse,to aid in their investigation?
Oh,I forgot.Nigerian police don't do crime scene investigation and don't take fingerprints. They do mass raiding, torture and get a 'confession'.
In Western countries, they have left this outdated religious practice of Muslims burying the dead before investigation of a crime scene and autopsy, but here, they still cling to an archaic religious practice.
