Roon9:Quite logical and maybe replicated in other parts of the country. Reason? Since many people are indoors, there is greater consumption of electricity in homes where the transformers were hitherto designated to carry light loads. |
Germi9:What in God's name is special about the roads in those pictures? Generally the Outlook looks more like a typical European village. |
This sounds like commonsense that is required, demanded and expected of every leader. But at the very top of Nigeria's leadership, commonsense has been replaced by dung matter. Yet some people that are still assumed to have that commonsense were applauding Buhari for an order that looks more like what military rulers usually did having got drunk after visiting a beer parlor with their concubines. |
orunmila144:Likelihood of you being arrested if u don't fall into the exempted categories is higher than the likelihood of Buhari making another national address in next 1 year. |
VillagePipu:Good job. Many of them soliciting for funds here are either pure criminals or blatant liars. That's why many reasonable people don't send them anything. |
orunmila144:In real terms it means stay at home, don't venture out so as to avoid contact with anyone, since status cannot be known. That also presumes you have got all what u need to last for d 2 weeks. But of course in Nigeria, one has to get fuel because NEPA is unreliable. You have to get cooking gas or kerosene which most likely would finish within that period. You need cash when you have to settle an emergency, say a medical bill. Even you have to have cash to settle your electricity bill, lest you get disconnected. The point is it's impractible and counter productive insisting on a total shut down. More thought should have gone into it. |

On the surface their action looks justified. But did they find out how much she bought it? Did they find out the cost of her transportation? Did they find out other indices involved in the price equation if they had remained the same? There is a reason why it's almost nationwide that the price of garri,in particular, has gone through the roof. If other indices remained same, they are justified,if not, they were just being callous and irrational. |
onatisi:Well said. I give it Wednesday, maximum Friday this week. By then the hunger and deprivation would be that unbearable that many people would either openly or carefully be defying the order or find other innovative even if more risky ways to survive. The bandwagon effect of following everything done by other countries, without any thought process expected of a leader,is what has led us to this point of a president waking up one day and locking down 3 states for 2 weeks. What the Lagos State governor,a man I hitherto rated poorly, was rumoured to be contemplating even made more sense, dusk to dawn curfew. His Ogun counterpart, showing a leader that has some analytic brain activity, has also deemed it more sensible to extend the start of the curfew to Friday. But here,we have a cattle breeder with ultra limited brain activity, clearly unable to analyze issues, come up one day and bang! Within 24hrs,"I am locking down Lagos,Ogun and Abuja"! Senselessness. |
This one has sense |
N17 billion. That's just about $40 million. The person or organisation that projected this must be a roadside newspaper reader that doesn't even understand basic economics. That lockdown would cost Lagos State nothing less than $500m~N160billion. |
Astark:My brother,it's so annoying just seeing these people we call leaders just follow the crowd;but without the commonsense to follow it fully by making palliatives available,as the countries they so sheepishly copy are doing. For eg,a far greater percentage of Nigerians are either self employed and/or depend on what they earn on a daily basis to make ends meet. No single plan, not even the simplest of them,on how these people would survive. 1 day for a starving man can mean life and death, talkless of 14days. Moreover in advanced countries that have implemented these lockdowns, people can use advance on their credit cards to stock up without necessarily having the money at hand. But here,no such credit facility exist. |

Here we go again. Will something original and presidential come out of his mouth today? We just have to wait and see. |
galaxiesss:Rubbish. Did you have Covid 19,tested and so proved? I am sure not. Those 2 drugs would make you feel better from any cough or fever you might have had,but to you to now come here and categorically claim you were cured of Covid 19 after you started taking them is quite careless of you and reckless of you. |

Not just VAT. Stamp duty too should be outrightly removed for the duration. Infact anything that would ease business cost should be implemented because businesses would suffer. Then agricultural/food items subsidy should be considered,if not many would be retrenched and hunger, the type that kills, would pervade the land. It's amazing that till this moment the FG itself has not announced any palliatives. This is government callousness at it's peak. |
Isolation centre in a tertiary hospital with just a suction machine, without cardiopulmonary monitoring units and without a ventilator, even if it's just one;they must be jokers. This is just a carved out ward. So if the patient now comes down with a respiratory distress, they now transfer again to another ICU ward? Why not equip this one so that transition can be minimized as much as possible? |
So you people don't get tired of twisting that scammers failed predictions. Even after God gave each man/woman a brain, that anyone still believes Joshua is no different from the many pastopreneuers in Nigeria is amazing. |
The pictures look very suspicious. Please a techno expert should authenticate those pictures because they are looking either like photoshopped or old pictures |
SR is a useless medium.
It's a glorified blog and a trashy one for that matter |
He is in our prayers and hopefully would overcome this disease.
He is a likeable, brilliant and thoughtful leader. |
Chinese experts Why not Nigerian experts for God's sake. We so relegate and make our own people inferior that we end up even using glorified drop outs in those countries that come out here and pose as experts. |
Unless it's the archaic key machines some banks still use because with the modern touch screen,he won't be able to operate that ATM. Even at that he should be arrested for wilful damage to bank property. If he was so concerned about the Corona virus he should have bought and used gloves instead of that stick. |
philip0906:This is what commonsense should tell people, but no in Nigeria commonsense even amongts the leaders is as scarce as an original hand sanitizer now. You are telling people whose survival depends on what they get on a daily basis to stay at home because Corona would kill them. Meanwhile hunger would kill 10x more. In societies where these restriction orders are being implemented, serious palliatives are being handed out,but here, despite the fact our poverty levels are 200x those of the west, nothing. How they would feed no plan;how their children would feed no plan;how they will get money to pay for hospital bill if any of them falls sick,no plan. Just "stay at home",period! |
sexiestharam:Many Nigerians have the virus from where? From obviously a shallow brain. Dumb skulls everywhere. |
joshjc:I am just astounded. That an assumed consultant ent surgeon would require a test for Corona virus before even attending to patients, most if not all of whom don't even have history of travel or contact with someone that travelled in recently is just prosposterous and speaks volumes of our educational mindset as a people. Someone has no travel history or contact with travel history,is not febrile (easily verifiable with infra thermometre),is not coughing nor sneezing, yet you by inference assume he/she may harbour the virus. For God's sake from where? So the virus can travel on its own without a host from China,Europe,America and infect a Nigerian that hasn't set foot outside his state for years? What a mindset! |
After recruiting their children, relations, girlfriends and concubines. It's alright. |
This is a massive 13% price reduction. In a working country totally dependent on fuel to drive it's economy, price of almost every other good and some services should naturally follow suit. Transport cost, goods, services, even data and call cost should naturally see a reduction in price. |
GeorgeTheCoder:You are the one without sense. The massive N15/litre would free up funds for people to buy other things, patronize other businesses and even visit that long wished site of theirs, boosting other sectors of the economy. If transport costs also come down,it would also boost travel, leading to more taxes to government, more income to transport companies leading to even some added boost to jobs. It's commonsense, use it. |
Every time I read what this guy says or hear him speak,I just keep asking myself,"who made this clown a pastor?". This one too has followers that follow him and actually feel he has a Spiritual link or affiliation to God? Unbelievable. |
adewumiopeyemi:Op,don't follow this rubbish advice if you like yourself and that house. If you attempt this, you will end up not just losing the 2 years rent but incurring more loss in the process. Think there is a agency for tenancy disputes in Lagos. |

Nigerians governors are stupid Sha, why are they forcing people to stay at home? How will the poor people they created survive and feed themselves?
