The president ought to pay a top secret unscheduled visit to the troops at the warfront to boost morale. When he gets there he should announce a big wage increase for fighters on the front. Soldiers who die should be buried with full military honour and a top official present. These are the sort of things that will encourage our soldiers. Gej should act like a war president
Being a president in a war situation requires mental stamina. The president isn't blessed with that.

Your suggestion, which cost you less than 10mins and less than 100kb of data, would have required several presidential committees and billions of naira to get, even at peace times.

Yeah. I think he got his prof before I finished. I wasn't in Elect department so I really didnt care to follow up. There was also one Dr. Ajayi in geology then. Those two were renown for failing students and subsequently disgracing them afterwards.

Osas had to be taken off EEE 201 and 202 after the dept got too many complaints from stakeholders. Dr. Kuku took over.

Sad. I won't be surprised if money issues is the real cause though. As intellectually and ideologically strong as OAU is, not all are immune to free, corrupt money; especially presidential ones.
Education › Re: See Studious OAU Students studying, E No Easy by semitunde: 9:36pm On Dec 01, 2014
Dr Osasona! That man showed our set.

Almost failed my friend who he identified as an elect elect student, at a waec center he was invigilating. We had to get the HOD ( a prof) to beg this man then! See boys prostrating every 10secs, sweating; and he was like" why are you ppl still here, your friend is not a student of this school, he has wasted his 4.62 GPA and his parents money. You've barely had one semester in this school and you're already into illegalities...."

He finally let him go though.

Don't know if he finally got his professorship. Was openly wicked with a righteous indignation.

Did the op finish from OAU?

Pedagogue:
I expected this.

This is called the 'powers of the presidency'.

It takes a dogged man not to cave or sell away when he's offered many good things of life and threatened if he refuses.

Ibikunle, or whatever is the name of the young lad, has obviously sold the IFE SUG; he doesn't deserve to spend a day more on that exalted seat.

A video of the whole booing and pelting drama was sent to me by one of my protégés in IFE. It wasn't done by a portion of the student crowd as the compromised Ibikunle wants the public to believe. It was done in a 'Great IFE manner'.

Although I left IFE more than a decade ago, the Great IFE spirit is aeonian and cuts across generations.

.........
If IFE is still IFE, this Ibikunle lad will be impeached today...Nevertheless, this may not happen 'cos they are writing exams; IFE students are 'always solemn' during this period! That may well be his saving grace.

......
This is the same Ibikunle that accepted a bus gift from Iyiola Omisore before the guber elections in Osun State. It is a big shame that this obviously putrid fellow has rubbished the achievements of his predecessors in such a short period of time.

Ibikunle will go down in the history books as the IFE SUG President that was caged, sewed and conquered.

The good thing however is; he does not represent majority of Great IFE students ...and since time immemorial, IFE SUG has never been about any individual...it has always and will always be about the collective strength of all GREAT IFE students.
He' not the first SUG president that will tow this line. He wont also be the last.

Vakama did same thing and was rewarded with a special adviser post in obasanjo's govt for two sessions.

Burkina, who was my mate and co- jambito did the same, ending up with the setting up of the peace corp, with political undertones.

Thing is, they are trying to be smart by half, organising their future from school. Unfortunately Nigeria today has shown that this pays in windfalls.

I doubt if he will also be impeached because of this. What concerns us as outsiders, don't really concern them as students. Booing of the president or not doesn't affect the school calendar or increase the school fees

What is sure is that he has showed his hands with this and OAU students would have taken notes.

This is clearly the fault of the electoral commission. What has the man in aso rock got to do with it?

It is a known fact from time immemorial that institutions in this country cannot perform their duties without hitches because we lack the will to do things right. There is always an issue with any process.

We hear of students' results missing after sitting for an exam. That is the fault of the man in aso rock I guess.

The thing that is wrong is not in aso rock. The problem is the Nigerian mentality and way of doing things anyhow.

And what's with the opposition always trying to make us feel that they are being persecuted?
It is the hand of Esau but the voice of Jacob.

I'm sorry but it will not be corrected because there is nothing wrong with the title , he is Nigerian simple!.
That can be easily deduced from the write up.

Unless you want to excuse the "Nigerian" qualification as front page sensationalism ( which I insist can be gotten without the Nigerian tag); I disagree with your reason.

Will a British tabloid have written " British man stabs wife" as against "50 yr old stabs wife!"? The reasons why they might add the nationality is if the said person isn't one of them one way or another. Then it can read "Polish man stabs wife in Peckam"!

Just saying.
Travel › Re: Nigerian Man Marries His Own Daughter To Get Her UK Visa by semitunde: 9:25am On Nov 23, 2014
Who put this thing on front page?

Did that supermod have to qualify that he's a Nigerian? You Google the word Nigerian and this jumps out at you, and you want to clean the country's image.

Not supporting what they did but the title would have still done fine without the Nigerian tag. Even the op's thread title should have been modified when it got to front page.

I hope this can still be corrected mods, op.
