I'ml flattered; thanks. Well, there's no need to organize a bash for me. Just send me money and I'll organize it for myself on behalf of all of you. ![]() |
Crying is not a sign of emotional instability. Some people (most men) express their frustrations through anger because societal norms don't give them the freedom to cry. Others (most women) express the same frustration by crying, because the society encourages them to. The underlying emotion is the same. I am more of the angry person than the cry-baby, but I am also the first to admit that cry-babies live longer. Women in all cultures live longer than men despite the fact that it's "a man's world". Ever wonder why? |
I'll be 23 this month. |
Ex-brother? HNow how does someone become an ex-brother? ![]() |
I'm very sorry about this situation. |
I understand. But once you get used to this restriction, you will discover that it is possible to express yourself adequately using proper English! |
Why do you want to know? |
Pinky: I declined because I remembered all his silly crying skillsWell, you made a mistake. I don't know how to explain this to you, but you did. |
Thanks. The ladies are all talk and no action! ![]() |
Inasmuch as it makes some people uncomfortable, I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Once you've dumped your boyfriend/girldriend/fiance/fiancee it's none of your business who chooses to fall in love with him or her. If you choose to reject a plate of food you shouldn't complain when you see someone else enjoying it. If you don't want your sibling to take over your lover, then stick to him/her. |
I think Tayotina has promoted her beauty on this forum, to the extent that if she turns out not to be as beautiful as Miss USA below (from the last Miss World), all of us will definitely be dissapointed. Click to view full size Since I am yet to meet anyone this beautiful, it is logical to conclude that Tayotina has set herself up for a fall . It is always a mistake to raise people's expectations too high. |
dablessed, the situation I described above happened less than 3 months ago! |
Hello kbstar, Thanks for information. I hereby request for the slide on behalf of the other members of this forum. Send it to my box and I will reformat it for display on this page. Seun. UPDATE: kbstar has sent me the slide but I'm yet to convert it to the flash format for easy uploading. |
A man killed his wife and was charged to court. The judge asked him, "why did you do it?" "My lord", he said, "I am a simple man of simple habits. Every day after work I come into my house at exactly 6.00pm, and I go straight to the dining room to eat my dinner. After that I watch TV for 2 hours and go straight to bed" "But what does this have to do with the killing of your wife?" The man continued, "Yesterday, I came home at exactly 6.00pm and went into the dining room for my dinner. My dinner was not on the table, so I went into our bedroom where I found her sleeping with another man." Finally the judge understood, "so is this why you killed your wife?" "Yes, my lord. I am a simple man of simple habits. When I come into the house at exactly 6.00pm in the evening, I absolutely insist that my dinner must be on the table!" |
If I decide to cry in public who's going to console me? So when I want to cry, I cry in the relative safety of my room. But there was a day I was shedding tears due to a kid's video they were showing in the premises of a primary school. It brought back memories from when I was younger, and the tears started rolling out and there was nowhere for me to hide. So I was just standing there stoically with tears running down my face. I hope the people around thought it was an allergy or something, because they didn't ask me about it! |
Perhaps IAH feels she didn't deserve the commendation? Sorry o, I take it back. |
Naijajams, why don't you just say you don't have an answer to the question? ![]() Many of the Nigerian artistes that have achieved much recognition can be described as one hit wonders (an artist who is generally known for only one hit single). Styl-Plus is different, and so they are my Best Nigerian Musical Artistes of 2005! |
Every year, The Federal Government spends a significant portion of it's foreign exchange reserve on the interest on these debts and tries to pay back some of it. The amount of money spent on interest will be drastically reduced, and the remaining debt ($13 bn to the Paris Club and about $4 billion to other creditors) should be easier to pay. |
There is a school of thought that says that telling people too much of "what's next" will lead to dissapointment when it takes longer than expected, but if you must know, here's what's next! |
"The Paris Club of creditor countries has agreed the outline of a debt relief package for Nigeria. About $18bn (£10bn) of debt will be written off and Nigeria plans to buy back a chunk of outstanding loans. About $31bn of Nigeria's debt is owed to members of the 19-nation-strong Paris Club." BBC News This is great news! Now I love President Obasanjo . |
That's a well placed joke. |
Hmm ... I'll allow it. |
Why can't trae_z just post his picture as an attachment? |
It means that If you're an award-winning Nigerian artiste and nobody in a forum with 1600 young Nigerians is able to recognize you, then you have a publicity problem! |

The easiest way to obtain Oracle and Redhat Linux is to go to the Computer Village, Ikeja. The second way is to turn to fellow Nairaland users; just ask one of them to send you a Linux or Oracle CD (Linux thread). The third way is to ask someone who works at an ISP, or anyone with access to a high bandwidth connection, to download Linux or a trial version of Oracle software for you. Hope this helps. |
It's a funny story: You see, I posted it on the 6th May, thinking it was dated May 18. After 20 minutes of typing and decorating this advert, I realised that it was dated March and since I had spent so much time on it I posted it into the recycle bin. Yesterday I decided to move it to this board. Yay! |
Pinky, there will be get-togethers and parties, but the question is when and it depends on how quickly we're able to overcome the other challenges faced by this forum. |
buddy and dablessed have volunteered in private. exago, legry and Hidden_Hunter have also volunteered in the past, but I've not confirmed that they are still interested. I am pleased with the enthusiasm that the wonderful people of this forum are showing. |
Kodewrita, I don't want a housewife, neither do I want a woman who's working 9 to 5 for somebody else. I imagine that we're both going to be running a very successful family-owned business. I imagine that since we own the business either of us be able to spend more or less time at work depending on the needs of little "junior and princess". So if the doctor says stay at home for X months and take care of your newborn baby she will be able to do so. So I have aded a third option, titled "family business", to the poll. |
Why did you cut out the "excellent thinking" part? |
Hello, I'm currently looking into ways to support the forum without imposing the 250 naira membership fee we agreed upon sometime ago. This forum will have 5 or more small income streams activated in the next few weeks. If the total money made from each of these sources is enough, then we may not need to impose the membership fee. However, I need volunteer editors/moderators to help me run this forum. It has become clear that the effort needed to manage this site as it begins to grow is beyond what one man can handle. And believe me, I have tried to see how much I can handle on my own and think I have reached my limit! Yet the site still needs to grow beyond what it is right now. We have 28 subforums on Nairaland. I need just one editor/moderator for each subforum. People who spend a lot of time online, have good understanding of English Language, are mature and trustworthy, and agree with the general direction of this forum are encouraged to apply. If you are willing but lacking in one or two of these qualities, I can train you for the job. I'm waiting for the applications to pour in. Send them in by PM, or drop your comments here! Seun. |
