4everGod:Corrected. Thanks. felixomor:Biologically, yes. More specifically, we are apes, like chimpanzees and gorillas. Our unwillingness to accept this suggests enormous pride. And then u say "more intelligent" ones.We are not 100% sure that they were less intelligent but all the hominids except the Neanderthals had smaller brains. And in which order did the evolution take place? The more intelligent or the less intelligent, who eveolved first?First, try to understand it. Then if you still think you are smarter than the scientists who figured it out, you can start criticizing it. |
EyeHateGod:The most common objection to atheism is, "if you don't believe in God, then who created us?" That's how we got there. ![]() |
I'm going to answer some questions that most scientists would dismiss as being silly. Gombs:We didn't Like Lambanopeace's picture, what happened to those in between our evolution? Where are they? Or do you mean we just moved from monkey to man? Each hominid was probably wiped out by the hominid that succeeded it. They were in direct competition with each because, unlike monkeys, they lived in the same places and ate and hunted similar things. The more intelligent species were more successful than the less intelligent ones and eventually drove them to extinction. Intelligence doesn't always win in nature. A deer needs speed more than it needs intelligence. Without the ability to handle tools, no amount of intelligence will help a deer against a lion. A tree monkey needs agility more than it needs intelligence, or it will fall and die. Also, intelligence is expensive. Our jaws are weak because we have smaller jaw muscles, but this leaves more space for the brain. 25% of the sugar in your blood is consumed not by your arms or legs, but by your brain. That's a lot! We are lucky that our ancestors found themselves in situations where intelligence was good for their survival. That's why we are here today. |
AngelsAndStars:Larger animals usually have larger brains because more brainpower is required just to control the entire body, which is why the brain size to mass ratio is more representative of intelligence, though not exactly. The elephant has a smaller brain relative to its size than we do relative to our size, yet it's undeniably one of the smartest animals in the world. Dolphins, which also are incredibly smart, have large brains relative to their size. The structure of the brain is also important. Our brains have a more complex, convoluted, interconnected structure than most. |
Gift101:Why not, if that's what he came to the world to do? I think the whole idea of him dying for our sins was made up after he was killed unexpectedly. But let's return to the topic of biblical villains... |
Gombs:Yes, we did. Of all monkeys in the world, we have the biggest brains. Our brains also have a more complex structure. This makes us smarter. |
Don't worry about it. I tend to have vivid dreams when I'm not getting enough sleep. Are you sexually harassed a lot in real life? |
Rilwayne001:Judas' role was completely unnecessary. Jesus could just have just submitted himself to the pharisees if he wanted to die, yet he was hiding. |
KingEbukasBlog:David was a warlord, not a soldier. A bandit, terrorist and leader of militants. A sword for hire. He wanted to wipe out an entire family because he asked for free food and the head of the family refused to provide it because he didn't know David. You insult me, I murder you. Despicable. Certitude:Villains are meant to be hated and I hate this dude, so I guess that makes him my favorite villian. He was also a man after God's own heart. ![]() |
Certitude:Not really. I don't like murderers. This David character killed 200 innocent men to get a girl when he was "only" asked to kill 100. A bloodthirsty devil. I bet Spartacus only killed people who had wronged him brutally and people he had to kill to survive. David killed because: "why not?" |
David. He was an evil serial mass murderer, yet he managed to gain the support of the Israelites and even God because of his charisma. |
4everGod:The error rate you quoted isn't the one I'm talking about, while the analogy you offered is extremely poor. |
AngelsAndStars:Either: (1) God made someone drop his hard-earned money on the ground, so you could steal it. (2) You got lucky at someone else's expense. |
Gombs:The evidence suggests that the complex DNA in our bodies developed from very simple DNA in ancient microscopic organisms through the process of evolution. How the first simple living organism with DNA came to be is not yet fully understood, but evolution explains how our complex DNA came to be. DNA is not logically tight, like procedural computer code. It's full of redundancies, errors, large portions which are completely unneeded by the current organism but still lurking there, etc. If DNA was designed by a programmer, he/she must have been very careless or intoxicated. But it makes perfect sense if it developed through the process of evolution. Evolution is imperfect and that's why it works. |
AngelsAndStars:Through the work of biologists, we know that we developed into complex creatures from simple creatures through the process of evolution, but we do not really know how the first simple creature came into existence. Through the work of physicists, we know that the stars and planets in the universe, including the earth, came from a "big bang", but we do not really know how the initial conditions for the big bang came to be. So no one is saying that we popped out of nothing. What we're saying is that to the extent that we know, we're a result of natural processes. but have you ever seek to find God outside religion? thats what i did. and i have nothing but faith. atheists like yourself too use faith since you also said it no one is 100% sure. Can you tell me exactly how you found God outside religion? Do you talk to him and does he talk back to you? Details, pls! (Religion is what leads most people to believe that God exists in the first place, so if you drop religion, I can't imagine why you wouldn't also drop God.) so mr seun, which is more foolish? that we popped out of nothing or a "God" is responsible(not religious God please note)Nobody is saying that we popped out of nothing. There are things we know about where we came from, and things which we don't know. Yet. |
LambanoPeace:I consider something to be morally wrong if it causes people to suffer unnecessarily and unfairly. |
AngelsAndStars:Nobody is 100% certain that there is no God. But in my experience, things for which no objective evidence has been found despite concerted efforts to find such evidence, such as aliens living among us, God, and perpetual motion machines, are unlikely to exist. So it is not rational to believe that they exist, not to mention dedicating your entire life to them. |
jonbellion:Why are you perpetuating the lying apologist's false definition of atheism? An atheist is simply someone who does not believe in any God. If you don't believe in any God then you are an atheist regardless of what you choose to call yourself. Very few atheists would say that they are sure there is no God. Even "militant" atheists like Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris and Lawrence Krauss would not make that claim. The version of atheism you are trying to throw under the bus for your personal benefit is very rare in the real world. So stop confusing people, please. |
If he was attacked by a cat, he needs antibiotics asap. Cat saliva contains a bacteria that's toxic to parrots. The vet should know what to do. |

Hope they won't make the mistake of calling her beautiful like that cadet. |
It was never meant to reach the home page |
QueenIdeas:It's no longer the case. |
Eyah. Why did you take advice from someone who doesn't know much about parrots? Respect for elders, shay? ![]() You should take the parrot to a vet doctor asap. I'm guessing that the vets that handle chickens may be able to help your parrot. Meanwhile, I would recommend cleaning the wounds with hydrogen peroxide or NCP and offering him water and his favorite food. Also, search the internet for more information. I found this: www.quakerparrots.com/health/caring-for-a-sick-or-injured-parrot/ |
naijadeyhia:On the wrong thread. |
ambassagod:A pack of stray or feral dogs. Why do the witches have to turn into animals to meet? How will they communicate while they exist as animals that can't talk? If you say they can communicate telepathically, then I must ask you why they need to meet in a physical place.
|
justwise:And we are happy to do this. Take note of that pls. |
