Fellow Nairalanders, Today's presidential election is very important. We've experienced economic stagnation & contraction due to both external and self-inflicted factors. We've experienced an epidemic of kidnappings and violent deaths due to banditry, terrorism, ethnic clashes, and separatism. According to various presidential polls, We are faced with a historic three way race. Any one of them could win today, which means that you don't have to worry about the spoiler effect. Instead of voting for the lesser evil, you can vote for the best candidate of the 3. I therefore urge you to consider the responsibilities of the presidency - improving the economy, securing the nation, strengthening our democratic institutions, reforming the legal system - and pick the candidate who is most likely to perform excellently if he wins the election. Vote for someone who will appoint the best Nigerians at home or abroad to their administration. Someone who will unite the country. Someone who understands economics. Someone who has the physical & mental vigour required to handle the toughest job in the country. Don't vote for a mediocre candidate just because you think the best cannot win. Vote for your best. This time, your vote won't be wasted. Thank you, and good luck to Nigeria! |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skmqHLZnb7A?t=680 Fashola appeared on AriseTV this morning to clarify his comments on the CBN's naira redesign policy. He said that the CBN Act doesn't support a confiscation of our old currency but a 1:1 swap of old and new currency. He also accused AriseTV of being biased in their coverage. Fashola: What has happened in the purported exercise of the Central Bank Act, especially section 20 where it talks about redesigning currencies, it gives powers undoubtedly to Central Bank to undertake that exercise. My understanding of that provision, because I've read it again and again, and what it suggests to me, my interpretation of that section of the law, is that if you choose to redesign a denomination A, say the 100, the 500, or the 200, every time I produce a 200 you must give me a 200. Every time I produce a 1000 you must give me a 1000 back, until that currency denomination is eventually taken out of circulation. {Cash swap is} the word used in the act. So what has been done here has no legal basis. That is my view. |
I am telling you the fact. |
I have never sacked lalasticlala. |
LeopardX:He's afraid of corrupt politicians, but he is not afraid of the ordinary citizens facing hardship. |
Aww so cute. |
Do you everyone else feel that it is indecent? |

It's our duty to teach them. |
Blankstare:As long as the new notes remain scarce, they will have no option but to continue the usage. Supermarkets can reject it, Okada man cannot. |
IslamIsIdiotic:They work as a team to destroy our economy. They bring out the worst in each other. |
You are absolutely right. Buhari's current govt is still 100 times better than military rule because we know that he will leave when his term is over. |
The video clip was taken out of context deliberately. He wasn't saying that Tinubu was too old but that he (El Rufai) was ready to retire. Locked. |
donbrowser:I guess bigger establishments can afford to reject cash because most of their customers have ATM cards. |
Shutting it down doesn't benefit anyone. When will our law enforcement agents have sense? |
They can't; when new notes aren't available. |
I'm beginning to feel some sympathy for this position. |
Thanks |
RIP. I'm sad I didn't get to talk to her. Glad that she got married and everything. |
This guy is shameless eh. I admire him for that. He's just hustling. |
It's not that hard. If you like her, tell her. If you want something, indicate interest. Stop this red pill nonsense, but be wise. C'mon, dudes. |
Anechi:They are the ruling party. Voters will hold them responsible for any hardships in the country. Having fuel scarcity and cash shortages so close to elections is just unbelievably stupid. |
GRVLagos:Thanks for your address. Channels TV prevents us from embedding their videos on Nairaland. A PDF copy of the address will be very yusful. |
Ckonnet:He said it on national TV. I didn't make it up. You can visit the source and listen to what he said. I provided a link. Just click on the link. |
According to chief Femi Fani-Kayode, the reason why Atiku supports Emefiele's cashless policy and is against the extension of the deadline for old naira notes is because PDP has an app that they can use to send money cashlessly to his supporters during the election. During his interview with Seun Okinbaloye of Channels TV, Fani-Kayode said, "they know about the special app that they have. They know about the number of people on that app that they've already collated so they can be sending credit to them on behalf, so that when they don't have cash it'll say "Atiku is sending you 10,000 naira" throughout the election period. They have a plan for this. They know what they want to do." He said, "So people should suffer? Simply because you have an app? And in that app you're going to be sending people money? And say 'hey have credit, you can cash the money later?' Their plan, and they are working with CBN, is to ensure that no money comes out at all in this country up until the end of February. That's their plan." Source Do you believe him? Do you know the name of the app and the number of people on the app? Should we all join in order to get paid💰?
