The only thing that matters is whether the sanitizer contains a minimum of 60% alcohol. If it does, they should carry on, as far as I am concerned. Poor people may not be able to afford imported hand sanitizers, so if this locally made sanitizer satisfies the minimum requirement as specified by the WHO, this is good. If I were NAFDAC, I would send agents to supervise the mixing of the chemicals just to ensure that the ratio is correct.

That would have been unnecessary; it would have been easy for people to believe that the Coronavirus, like the Ebola virus, originated in Africa.

If a significant portion of the population refuses to get immunized, the highly infectious and nasty diseases that we are trying to eradicate from society will continue to spread. Making vaccination compulsory prevents this.

Why are they not wearing masks, when the reason they are there is to prevent a dangerous airborne virus from spreading to other people?

Banks are essential. There are ways to run a bank without putting customers at risk. Customers and bank staff should wear and use protection.

Sanitizers, face-masks for everybody before bank entry or usage of ATM machines. Constant cleaning of door handles, ATM machines, etc. No crowding of customers. Make them stand at least one meter away from each other. Safety steps should be proactive, not reactive.

Everyone in the house will soon be confirmed cases. The virus is highly contagious.

Also, wear a facemask (even a home-made face mask or a hankerchief tied over your nose and mouth is better than nothing) and keep a good distance if you must interact with people or go outside. Do not take off the mask to talk to anyone; this defeats the purpose of wearing it.

Dude, we already have compulsory vaccination for diseases like measles and smallpox. Adding Coronavirus to that list is not a big deal.

Bad idea. If you have the symptoms of Coronavirus, you should self-isolate at home and call the NCDC and/or your local hospital. If the doctors and nurses are not prepared to deal with Coronavirus, you may end up infecting them or other patients. Please stay at home and call them 1st.

It may be false, but I believe it could be true because America has done worse. The virus could be silently spreading in Nigeria as we speak. All it takes is one infected person. This is a global pandemic and will only be stopped when all countries in the world take extreme measures to stop it.

It would be tragic if we failed to learn from other countries who played politics with the disease for just a few days or weeks and now regret it.

I wouldn't go for a total ban on travel, but those that come in should be quarantined or tested for the virus whether or not they are showing symptoms. And passengers should be required to wear face-masks on the planes and in the airport. With these and other measures, only people who have serious reasons for traveling (such as business) will travel. The airline industry will suffer terribly but we can't really afford to care.

For now, you may be right, but I feel that best time for drastic precautionary measures is before there is a massive outbreak and not after it starts. Also, we can't be certain that the two confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria are the only ones: some infected people have no symptoms.

Church services can be conducted over the Internet, TV and radio nowadays. Offerings can be paid with your ATM cards. It is just too dangerous for thousands of people from all over the country to congregate in Canaanland, Redemption Camp, etc, mingle for days, and then return home!

It is better to conduct ALL forms of gathering under stringent care rather than to shut them down!!

Stringent care is very expensive. For small gatherings that are essential, it may be economical. For large non-essential gatherings, it will not be.

People will still board public transport anyway!

If Covid-19 visits them, they will spread it to you eventually. The only way anybody can be safe from the coronavirus is for everybody to be safe.

Nigeria is not prepared to deal with a massive local outbreak of the Coronavirus. The death rate would be very high due to a lack of ventilators, etc.

Does anyone else think we should shut down all non-essential mass gatherings of people such as churches and mosques, parties, conferences, cinemas, etc? Whereas essential gatherings such as markets and shops and businesses should be conducted under very stringent safety rules?

Most of the time, people who can’t afford to buy dogs can’t afford to take care of them. Dogs have to be vaccinated regularly by a vet doctor and fed. Vet doctors are expensive. Commercial dog food is expensive. Home-made dog food must include some type of meat, which is also expensive. Eatery waste is cheap but must be refrigerated, which is expensive.
