Ishilove:By Old Testament standards, she is his wife. When you took a woman into your house and “knew” her, she became your wife. Simple. Modern society has made marriage very expensive and complicated, which is why a lot of people are living together without being officially married. |
@Oricha62: If I accepted all your points, that wouldn’t mean that there is equality in Islam. You’d have merely justified the inequality in Islam. You say that men were allowed to marry poor and widowed women in order to help them, but if that was the concern, men could have been commanded to donate money to poor women and widows in their communities. You don’t have to sleep with a woman before helping her. You say that men are allowed to marry additional wives so that men won’t divorce their infertile wives in order to marry new wives, but this problem could have been solved by simply forbidding men from divorcing their wives. If your wife is barren, then God doesn’t want you to have kids. Also, if there is equality, why aren’t women allowed to marry more husbands if their first husbands are impotent or infertile? You say that men are allowed to marry additional wives so they won’t commit adultery. If there is equality, why are women not allowed to marry additional husbands instead of committing adultery? It’s clear that men’s needs and problems are prioritized over women's needs. You say that polygamy is permitted because there are more women than men, therefore there would be many unmarried women without polygamy. This would have been your best argument if it were true, but it is not true. The population ratio between males and females is roughly 1 to 1. Even Syria, which is currently at war, has a sex ratio of 101 males to 100 females. This means that, by your argument, it is the women of Syria who should be allowed to marry many husbands, so that 1% of Syrian men won’t have to remain unmarried. In short, there is no good reason to allow men to marry 4 wives and deny women of the same privilege. This inequality is totally unjustified. |
KushyKush: Teaser4:I don’t doubt the existence of evil, but I believe that evil exists primarily in the thoughts and actions of wicked people, who inflict pain and suffering on other people through non-supernatural means for personal gain or sadistic gratification. Evil spirits don’t exist, but evil people do. |
aigboeben:Nudity is relative. The dressing of a typical Nigerian Christian sister would be considered indecent in some muslim countries. Once people get used to seeing a particular body part all the time, it ceases to be a source of “temptation”. **edited** |
Ok, let’s talk about equality. When a man can marry four wives while a woman can only have one husband, is that equal? When a man can beat a disobedient wife, but a woman can’t beat a disobedient husband, is that equal? When a woman’s inheritance is half of what her brothers inherit, is that equal? When the testimony of 2 women is equal in weight to the testimony of 1 man, is that equal? When a rape victim is imprisoned in Dubai and her rapist is allowed to leave the country, is that equal? |
Emmanuel045:Did you get that from the Bible? Jesus said “ask and you shall receive”, not “praise and you shall receive”. |
Why are men so obsessed with telling women what to wear? Let women wear whatever makes them feel comfortable and beautiful. |
urahara:Historically, if a woman was promiscuous, she would get pregnant, and there would be no way of knowing which of the men she slept with was the father. Since men don’t like raising children that are not theirs, they built social structures to discourage promiscuity in females. Now that we have contraceptives and DNA testing, this is a bit outdated, but cultural change takes time. |
DavidJohnDavid:I have good news for you: Juju doesn’t work in any part of Nigeria. Demons do not exist in any part of Nigeria. These should be the very least of your worries. You should be more concerned about security and access to quality healthcare, electricity, roads, and other infrastructure. |
In modern society, especially showbiz, cleavage is no longer considered to be a private part. Showing it off is just like showing off your face, you hair, or your hands. Also, there is no bible verse that condemns cleavage. Tastebudz and daddy freeze are not guilty of anything. |
No more off topic comments pls. |
yungEX:Why did you have to use it for a whole year? I feel that by discouraging people from using biocoten based on your unusual experience, you're prolonging their suffering. |
yungEX:Why would he regret it eventually? What makes you think that it contains a harmful level of steroids. Would NAFDAC have approved it if that was the case? what was your experience with biocoten that made you feel qualified to advice other people against using it? |
Ferisidowu:“I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. ” 1 Timothy 2:12-14 |

What is her position in the class? What school did she attend? - Does your sister have any hobbies? What are her top 3 hobbies? |
It means that you have a deep desire to be married. Your mind is allowing you to experience it before it actually happens. |
This is a great excuse for unanswered prayers, since there is no way to prove that someone whose prayer was not answered had faith. And frankly, nobody is totally free of doubt, so when your prayers fail, that microscopic sanity-induced speck of doubt that inevitably exists in your mind takes the blame. |
Why didn’t Covenant university participate? |
I don’t understand you at all. Pls explain it to me as if I’m 5 years old. @yqrs |
MuttleyLaff:You are right. The incident I had in mind was when Solomon offered 1,000 animals to God and God appeared to him in the night and said “ask me for anything you want!” and he asked for wisdom (2 Chronicles 1). |
urahara:Religious faith is a choice. You choose to believe something in spite of the lack of evidence. You immerse yourself in experiences that would strengthen your faith e.g Going to church, reading only religious books, listening to only religious songs, making friends with only Christians. You avoid situations that might weaken your faith such as talking to atheists, studying evolution and the Big Bang theory, reading articles that criticize ‘men of God’, etc. |
AHCB:He is different. He is a sheep of the Bible and Jesus but not a sheep of pastors and organized religion. HardMirror is right that people like this often continue to progress towards atheism, but I think the fame that Daddy Freeze has achieved as a Christian reformer will halt this progress. |
rayopt:According to Christian theology, burnt offerings for the forgiveness of sin are no longer required, because of the human sacrifice of Jesus Christ. However, there is no biblical indication that God’s love of the smell of burnt meat - which was discovered by Abel - has disappeared. Unless you are saying that the real purpose of burnt offerings was to provide priests with free suya meat and that burnt offerings are now outdated because modern day priests (pastors) would rather have cash. |
I agree with you that the core doctrines of Islam are more coherent and straightward than those of Christianity. This is because Islam was created largely by one man while Christianity evolved through a chaotic process involving many people - the Jewish scribes, Jesus, Peter, Paul, the bishops at the council of Nicea, etc. However, this does not mean that Islam is a rational religion. The biggest proof of this is the way Muslims react whenever their religion is criticized or lampooned. That is not the way rational people respond to criticism. If your beliefs are rational, you don’t need to resort to butchery when they are challenged or lampooned. You can just calmly explain why you are right. |
It’s a pity that he would lose his credibility with Christians completely if he became an atheist. Pastors would be like “see? we told you that he was an agent of Satan!” I suspect that he won’t allow himself to lose his faith for this reason. I suspect that he enjoys his platform as the “leader of the free nation in Christ” too much to mess with it. I think atheists need to challenge Daddy Freeze publicly and get him to respond to some hard questions about his religion. |
Can you use this “deadly” prayer to kill all the leaders of Boko Haram? This would be far better than using it against an elected president who is already very old and frail. |
Jochabed:Actually, in the Old Testament, burnt offerings were not offered primarily for the forgiveness of sins. They were offered to please God. When burnt offerings were made, the smell would rise up into the sky where God lived and God would enjoy the smell and bless the person making the sacrifice. For example, when Solomon offered 1,000** animals to God (2 Chronicles 1), God was so pleased that He appeared to Solomon in the night and said, “ask me for anything you want” To my knowledge, there is no biblical reason why a Christian cannot offer burnt offerings to God just to make God happy and get blessed. In fact, a Christian who gives burnt offerings to God in this day and age should expect unique blessings, because it would be a very unique gift to God, just like Solomon’s 1,000 burnt offerings. ** This post has been corrected. |
What are the specific things you hope to achieve this year as a fulfillment of that ‘prophecy’? |
olaolutreasure:Why? |
Those men are guardian angels. The Lord must have opened your eyes to enable you to see them. Just kidding. I guess Bishop Oyedepo knows that the divine protection he peddles is not reliable. |
yanabasee:The utter lack of objective evidence for the existence of God suggests that he probably doesn’t exist. If God existed and wanted to be worshipped, he would not hide himself to such an extent that there would be no objective evidence of his existence whatsoever. What for? |
Christians find it difficult to interpret the Bible because they treat it as a book that was written by God to tell us how to live, which is totally wrong. The Bible is not really a book. It’s a collection of books that were written by different people for different purposes at different times, which were selected by church leaders in a meeting orchestrated by the emperor of Rome centuries after the real founders of Christianity had died. Imagine if PFN pastors conducted a meeting where they reviewed the most popular books written by dead pastors like Idahosa, Josiah Akindayomi (RCCG), Ayo Babalola (CAC), Samuel Oshoffa (CCC), and Bimbo Odukoya (who deserves to be alive), selected the ones they could agree on, and called them the “word of God” which Christians must obey. That’s essentially how the New Testament was created. There is so much confusion because there are so many contradictions in the Bible and different groups fixate on different parts of the Bible. The contradictions are there because the men who wrote the Bible didn’t have the same beliefs, just as Oshoffa and Odukoya and Akindayomi didn’t have the same beliefs. The Bible is much easier to understand if you treat each book within it as what it really is: a distinct work of literature written at a particular time, for a particular purpose, by a particular person or group of people and incorporated into the Bible centuries later. |
