And I will write them off as tales. Fake stories come in various shapes and sizes.

Nia: Historically speaking, and in the context of Naija and Africa at large, "submission" is meant to mean that one person's opinion or idea (usually the male) carries more weight than the other (the female). And that one person is more important than the other.
Honest men are rare. You are to be admired. That is exactly what submission means in practice.

"T Money":
Seun: i guess God himself must be disoriented when he instruct in the bible in that line, uhmm?
The word "totally" is not in any translation of the bible. Your opinion is an extreme interpretation of marriage advice given by an unmarried man centuries ago.

"T Money":
every guy have that EGO thing that should be thrown away when dealing with your woman. but you can deny the fact that its there.
It's one thing to have an ego problem due to traditional upbringing. It's another thing to come online and be boasting about the ego problem you have and saying that women have to accomodate it.

The problem we have as men is that we have come to take our 'superiority' for granted. When we are not able to get that superiority, we get upset. We are unhappy; we feel as if we are not men. It's a disease.

No need to deny this phenomenon because it has been well documented the world over.
Show me the documents and let's critically examine their authenticity.

RomanceRe: Why Are Some Successful Sisters Not Married? by Seun(mod): 10:47am On May 31, 2006
A marriage can never be successful if the lady is not TOTALLY submisive to the man, regardless of the status of the man.
This is the sort of junk that people get into their heads when their mums allow their dads to dominate them.

Can you give us the source of this story? I'm not aware of any presidential sports awards.
PoliticsRe: Donald Duke For 2007 Presidency? by Seun(mod): 9:41am On May 31, 2006
I very much prefer Dr. Okonjo-Iyeala and Pat Utomi, but Duke seems to be popular and hence more likely to win.
Nairaland GeneralDefinition Of Feminism: What Is Feminism? by Seun(mod): 9:35am On May 31, 2006
In our previous discussion on feminism, we didn't bother to define it. Here's a humorous conversation that illustrates the confusing surrounding the term 'feminism':
COMMON GUY/GAL: Well, I do think women are people.

FEMINISTA: Then you’re a feminist.

CG: OK. Cool.

FEMINISTA: …which means you’re also in favor of employment laws that specially protect female workers and divorce laws that seem to favor women, restricting rights for men, such as free speech (specifically, the right to produce and consume pornography)…

CG: Ok, ok I suppose, er-wait what was that about the porn?

FEMINISTA: …and that the results of the sexual revolution were beneficial only to men, marriage is an institution that oppresses women and men, that monogamy was originally conceived of as a way for men to control women…

CG: Whoa, wait a minute-

FEMINISTA: …that human society would be better off with dramatically fewer men, that there are no essential differences between the sexes, and that the roles observed in society are due to conditioning, of course views that separate the sexes rather than unite them are considered to be sexist rather than feminist…

CG: What the fvck?

FEMINISTA: …and that science reflects a masculine perspective and in light of that we need to examine science’s claims to objectivity. [gasps for air]

CG: That’s some pretty fvcked up stuff there. I don’t believe most of that.
FEMINISTA: O RLY? So you’re saying you’re in favor of the Rapemongering Phallocracy, eh? Oppressor!
http://catallarchy.net/blog/archives/2006/05/08/curiouser-curiouser/
Is there anyone on Nairaland who knows what feminism is? I'm dying to discover whether or not I'm a feminist. I believe that women are human beings, so what else?
PoliticsRe: African Liberation Day by Seun(mod): 10:22pm On May 30, 2006
My only objection is that a new holiday for the whole of africa will reduce our productivity by 1/365. I hereby suggest that such a holiday is chosen in such a way as to make it always fall on a Sunday!
CelebritiesRe: Charlize Theron Is The Best African Actress by Seun(mod): 7:00pm On May 30, 2006
Brumilda is not the most popular african actress. According to Google Trends, charlize theron is hundreds of times more popular if not more!

Brumilda's character might be getting a lot of exposure, but her own name is not. At least not online. Not even when compared to Genevieve Nnaji.
WebmastersRe: Nigerian Blogs by Seun(mod): 4:23pm On May 30, 2006
But that is where the story ends! At the very low-end and impossible side of say, 15 cents per click, that is $75 dollars a day and and $2,250 Dollars a month which translated to at black market rate 146:1 over =N=328,000 per month.
Ok that is way, way, way more than I earn! All the other stats are overestimated, except for number of impressions (Nairaland has many pageviews per visitor). That'll be my last statement on the Nairaland pittance.
WebmastersRe: Nigerian Blogs by Seun(mod): 3:56am On May 30, 2006
Seun has close to 10,000 visitors daily- that is a terrific traffic, but you will be shocked to learn of his abysmally poor CTR (click through rate). Why? because we have refused to embrace the techniques of optimizing our sites
How do you know I have an abysmally poor clickthrough rate? What do you think I make from this site? Is this a trick to make me reveal my income? I may not be as incompetent as you think.

I am no ashamed to say I consider the plight of those in Nigerian prisons very important. And if there's a way to make them economical assets instead of liabilities while also solving their human righs violations, that's worth pursuing.

<sarcasm>
Some of them has no manners
She doesn't readily kneel down properly when serving me food.

They've got issues
When I treat her bad, she gets angry. As if a woman has that right.

No home training
When I say, "get me some food" she insists on hearing the word "please".

Arrogant, not humble
She won't accept the fact that my broke-ass self has the right to give her orders.

Some of them might have dated a guy who was suppose to be their husband as a boyfriend. Thats messed up
He never supported her dreams and she caught him cheating on her. So what?

Some are too westernized, no submission, 50-50 idea and many more.
She thinks she's not inferior to me. What a lame joke!

CareerCertification Exams Taken In Nigeria by Seun(mod): 7:24pm On May 29, 2006
There was a time I wanted to be a freelance programmer, and so I decided to get certified in the areas of IT I have interest and experience in. I planned to get certified in Linux (LPIC), MySQL 4 (Core and Professional Certification), and PHP (Zend Certification). I also wanted to write some CompTia+ Exams.

I took only the 1st MySQL Exam before losing interest:
Name: Oluwaseun
Exam: MySQL core Certification
Date: 17-Nov-2003
Your grade: Pass
Certificate: Ask NIPOST about it.

What about you? Which professional certifications have you obtained so far, and when? Which exams have you written? Feel free to elaborate on your answers; this is a discussion forum afterall! wink
FamilyRe: Husband Or Parents: Who Owns The Woman? by Seun(mod): 7:06pm On May 29, 2006
If the wife is at a point where she can't function as a wife anymore, and the parents want custody of their child so they can take care of her, then any husband witha brain would let them take custody. They concieved her, nurtured her, raised her, educated her before you showed up. They deserve that last gesture of respect in such circumstances.
FamilyWhat Are Friends For? by Seun(mod): 7:01pm On May 29, 2006
Can you tell me, fellow Nairalander, what friends are for? Why do you bother to keep them?

About the friends you currently have: do they deliver on your expectations or do they dissapoint you? Are they worth the time, effort, and (maybe) money you have invested in them so far?

Are you still in need of more friends, are you perfectly satisfied with those you have, or have you given up on friendship? Thanks in advance for your contributions!
RomanceRe: Why Are Some Successful Sisters Not Married? by Seun(mod): 6:44pm On May 29, 2006
sum men gat inferior complex that they don't want a lady that is way successful than he is PERIOD
Well they wouldn't be thay way if their mamas didn't submit to condescending treatment from their fathers. having observed their parents, they have concluded that men are supposed to dominate women, and they can't be happy if they are with a woman who has ambitions of her own. Mothers should step up and reorient their boys. angry
Christianity EtcRe: Tithes And Offerings: So Important In Nigerian Churches by Seun(mod): 6:39pm On May 29, 2006
I think tithes are very efficient precisely because they are compulsory. Mister A wants to pay tithes if he knows that his colleagues B, C and D are also going to pay. So they won't be better off!
