Romance › Re: Does Being A Virgin Makes A Lady Wife Material? by seunfly:
tomba: she's a virgin, religious and hardworking. Does dat make her the perfect wife material?
A wife is a woman that will build you a good home. The home include happines, peace, progress trough partnership, be ur bestfriend for ever, share the same vision, work toward the same goal, train up your child in the way of the lord, be humble and obidient, industrious, high moral value etc
Although being a virgin is an added advantage as it will be like a crown on the head of a beautiful king.

How ever since you mention that she is religions, i guess she could build you a good home. because any body that is truly in the lord will never miss step. The bible says the steps of the righteous are odered. But pray more and seek the consent of God.

StarFlux: Why add the sì after mo?

This is not picking. I just want to know more!
In this sentence "si" is an adverb, it show the degree of something and it equivalent is "still" or "more".

Ṣùgbọ́n a ń gbìyànjú kọ́. Mo fẹ́ràn èdè Yorùbá, mo sì fẹ́ kọ́ Yorùbá sí.

Although you are still correct if you did not put "si" in it
example:
mo fe ko yoruba si.
I want to learn yoruba more.

Compare with the first sentence:
mo (sì) fẹ́ kọ́ Yorùbá sí.
I (still) want to learn yoruba more.

Mo ni ero pe aroye mi ye o fini fini?

Topeedo: THE REASONS FOR MARRIAGE IS NOT JUST FOR CHILDREN BEARING SO IT SHOULD NOT BE THE CRITETIA FOR MARRIAGE...DO NOT BE DECIEVED...IF A CANNOT MARRY AND LOVE YOU WITH OR WITHOUT CHILDREN, THEN THE MARRIAGE IS NOT WORTH PUTTING YOUR WHOLE LIFE INTO...MARRIAGE IS A LIFE LONG THING
Ladies sef......... Na wa O, they will say that they can't marry a guy without security (money) that it make love better and marriage good. But without child, it does not mean anything to love WooooOOW.

Listen carefuly fruitfulness is the ultimate reward of any cooperation or union in any aspect of life which include marriage. The more it bears fruit the more you want to be commited to it. My sis and bro let me tell you no matter how much you love a union, group, organisation or cooporation if result or reward or fruitfulness is not coming, you will get discouraged and that is when your commitment will start to wane.

Now don't get it twisted, am not saying it is good for a man to abandone his wife because of childlessness or vice-vasa especialy those inocent ones that are not guilty of abortions or other reckless actions but child increase love and commitment in marriage. i ve seen men that became more responsible after thier first child. If not whare does the expession THE MOTHER OF MY CHILD come from?
I don’t support the statement about "the way woman mess themselves these days" can a woman mess herself up without a man?
my sister i disagree with your statement, yes men come but ladies determine wether they want to or not. You don't blame what ever you can control, you blame your self for failing to control it. If you know you will be messed by a man why give him chance.

Sometimes i shed tears when ladies talk about doing abortion 3 times for a particular guy all in d name of love, i wonder is it love or recklessness yet you will want to blame the guy instead of the girl for allowing such thing.

Men are evil but girls should resist the evil not allow it and then justify that they are evil. One thing about evil is the more you resist them the more they reduce in the society at large.
Please don't get me wrong am not crusifying anybody neither am i claiming to be holy, It include us all.

StarFlux: Oh, ok!

Jesus said: it is the hand of those that do not have that we have collected and given to those who have. Is this correct? But that would mean maa shouldn't be there? I can understand it quite well now thanks to you. Still seems a bit complicated, and I will refer from using thesse forms for when I write until I know them 100%.

E se pupo!!
my dear on that maa issue, please forgive me i did not know it is from the sentence.

Maa from the sentence means "will"

i guess i missed because of the tone.

Jesus said: it is the hand of those that do not have that we have collected and given to those who have.

Jesus said: it is from the hand of those that do not have that we will collect and give to those that have.

Your interpretation was right but if you include (maa) "will" you will get the correct and complete sentence like mine.

Ma binu si mi , se o ti gbo.

StarFlux: Another example:
Jesu ni: ni owo eni tí ko ni l'a ti maa gba fun eni t'ó ni. The second "ti" here is mid tone, is it just a grammatical error or it it suposed to be like it? (There are many writing/grammar errors in this book I have noticed).

Also, what does maa gba mean?

I'm afraid I don't fully understand this and it occurs too frequently for me to ignore. I understand what you said in the previous post, but I still can't get the grasp of it sad
I'm starting on my other book now. I hope it can fill the gaps that the other book didn't.
Another example:
Jesu ni: ni owo eni tí ko ni l'a ti maa gba fun eni t'ó ni. The second "ti" here is mid tone, is it just a grammatical error or it it suposed to be like it? (There are many writing/grammar errors in this book I have noticed).

It is correct, it is niether high nor low tone. I think it is flat.

Also, what does maa gba mean?

Well the word gba could be written and pronounced diffrently depending on the tonal effect, but i will asume 3 meaning.
(1) gba: to hit
(2)gba: to collect, accept, recieve, give etc
(3) gba: to dupe
(4) gba: agree
maa: negate the words it came before.
So which ever the maa gba it may be, it mean don't gba(any of it meaning) eg don't give, don't dupe, don't collect, don't accept etc.

StarFlux: Ok, so pretty much the same question (or similar).

Kini mo ni tí(high tone) won ni mo ni aniju? Is tí here another term used to specify?

Alaini l'ó(high tone) ni eni t'ó(high tone) ni ko nii jeki oun ni. What exactly does t'o especialyl mean here?

Another example:
Jesu ni: ni owo eni tí ko ni l'a ti maa gba fun eni t'ó ni. The second "ti" here is mid tone, is it just a grammatical error or it it suposed to be like it? (There are many writing/grammar errors in this book I have noticed).

In the two sentences the ti won and t'o means the same thing, they are like discribing. They both means (that) in that sentence. The diffrence between them is (o) singular and (won) plura. Mind you, t,o = ti o singular expresion while ti won is plura.

With my layman analysis i think ti o/ni o (high tone) are usauly discriptive or specify in most sentences and you can figure out what it means by understanding the sentence it self.
Example:
Kini mo ni tí(high tone) won ni mo ni aniju?
What did i have (ti) ''that'' (won) ''they'' said i have too much?

Alaini l'ó(high tone) ni eni t'ó(high tone) ni ko nii jeki oun ni.

The poor will say that(t'o) the rich will not let him to be rich
T'o here also means (that) in singular

Even some state that are better than that (Calabar , taraba, kano etc) have little of air travelers internationaly. Politics › Re: Where On Earth Is Chief Oladeinde Fenandez? Nigerian's Truly Richest Man. by seunfly: 12:52pm On Oct 23, 2012
Wallie: Not to pour sand into anyone’s garri but most of the people you think are super wealthy are not! Just because someone blows a few million dollars doesn’t make the person the wealthiest!

A divorce case in the Western world truly brings out the true/perceived worth of an individual. You have to recognize that the woman is trying to get the most money she can, which will mean that she will reveal every source of income she knows the guy has.

Are there people out there that are truly worth more money that Forbes accounts for? Yes. Almost everybody listed is worth more because income that’s not publically listed is not taken into account.

For example, any income from any of Dangote’s businesses that is not listed on the stock exchange is not taken into account.

Also, exactly when did Dangote break the $2 billion threshold after umpteen years doing business? When he got listed on the stock exchange. Why do you think companies go public?

My point is you can only become 13 billion dollar rich by “including” other people’s money into your wealth! You have something that people think is valuable and they invest in it! People are investing in you because they believe you can return value for their money. NOBODY in Nigeria, either dead or alive, is richer than Dangote.

For Fernandez to be sued for $300 million by a woman that has being with him since the 80s means that the number is a high approximate value of half his wealth, which includes properties, yachts, bank accounts and businesses. PERIOD. As an attorney, you shoot for a very high number to scare the guy into settling! Or are you going to say someone that knew him that long wouldn’t be privy to businesses he owned?

Even people that steal billions of dollars end up deceasing the loot significantly due to ongoing expenses because they don’t know how to replenish that kind of money. They also have to be careful where they invest the money; otherwise, people will start asking questions.
so Roman Abramovic that pay $50million in divorce is not worth more than $100million by you

StarFlux: (1) I said I used your dress.

(2) Use the question I have asked. (Not 100% sure what bi means.) I know there are at least three versions of bi, ask, deliver baby, throw up. So I assume it means question. Actually one of the first words I learned!

(3) Don't know. Ewo - which one, fe - want, but I don't know "nu". A wild guess: which one is it you wanted to use for (something).

I have a question, again. This sentence:

Sofa meji l'o wa ni palo naa. WHY is l'o in this sentence? Whenever this or t'ó occurs I dey shake my head.
Also, these sentences:

(1) Bola nibe l'o ti nbo? WHY?

(2) Ile naa ni palo nla ati kisini t'ó tobi.

I understand this: Ologbo mi l'oba eranko. Because the meaning is obvious, but when it comes to the above sentences, I am clueless. My book doesn't explain ellision very well. But it does say sometimes it's not easy to explain. However, ellision is not the only problem, I don't understand what l'o, or t'ó is supposed to mean at all because that sentence looks fine to me without.
l = ni
ni o/l'o is another word without meaning but have a technical function something like (is, are).
So in the sentence it is like this
(1) Sofa meji l' o wa ni palo naa.
Same as:
Sofa meji ni o wa ni palo naa.
However you are also correct if you say

Sofa maji wa ni pala naa.
But the first sentence is more discriptive than the other, it is just like you say:

Am going home.
Instead of
i am going home.
AGAIN the l'o or t'o is technical it is just like (is, are) in english language.

In sentence (2)
(2) Ile naa ni palo nla ati kisini t'ó tobi.
Note the ni here is diffrent from the other ni o/l'o if you put the tona sign so they mean diffrent thing and are pronounced diffrently. However t'o here serve discriptive (ti o) tobi, just like (is) big.
