2 people AND God make up a Church. 3,000 people worshipping their own "perceptions" and "lusts" and clapping excitedly make for entertainment. Christ has settled this argument when He said true worshipers would do so in spirit and truth rather than in any specific place.

By the way, is it just me or did others notice Pastor posted 7 questions which "cannot" be answered but were rather dodged?

Which makes me wonder - what do you call a building containing congregants led by non-christians who teach from the Bible?
At bolded: Many of them are called CATHEDRALS!  sad   . . . . if you know what I am saying! The modern day ones can be called anything!
Christianity EtcRe: Who Was Abraham's Father? Azar (Quran) Or Terah (Bible)? Which Is Right? by seyibrown(f): 11:16pm On Jun 20, 2011
albadry:
I'm not sure if you read my reply at all. I do not appreciate your mockery also because I did not mock your beliefs.

The Quran does not reveal the name of Abraham's father, but it reveals that the idol maker in question here (Azar) was not his father. The biblical name Terah could be his name, but it was not revealed in the Quran hence why I could not comment.
My post was not directed mainly at your post! My post takes in to account several posits by Sweetnecta, Olabowale, vedaxcool (and co) of unfounded allegations about the Bible having been corrupted. They wield the Bible to support fallacious claims when it suits them, and then they put the Bible down as being corrupt THE REST of the time! No offence was intended!

It's nice to have you join NL, and I look forward to more educating posts from you! Your posts so far already tell me that you will stand out as an one who has an indepth knowledge of Islam and is able to contribute intelligently to topics in this section! Welcome once again!  smiley Be warned: The religious section of NL suffereth 'violence', and the 'violent' take it by force!  grin  grin Bros, Alagbara lo n duro nibi o!  grin ( and by violence here, I mean passion for or against God and his commandments)! God bless you!

As a welcoming present, I will one of these days ask you to educate us on the concept of 'AL-TAQIYAH' , its importance in Islam, and its relevance in interaction with - and particularly in explaining Islam to - non-muslims! Again, the God of all wisdom bless you!

Wonder if Jesus would dance on money like that. undecided

Kids dying of hunger around the world, these "men of God" are dancing on money.

Btw God and Satan, who would be proud of that charade?
They weren't even thinking 'elf and safety' grin! It's very dangerous dancing and running around on 'crispy' notes on carpeted stairs! grin
Christianity EtcRe: A Dilemma (or Is It A Conundrum?) by seyibrown(f): 10:43pm On Jun 19, 2011
R/a/p/e and fraud are offences under secular law and any person - Christian or not - who commits such should face the full force of the law. As a Christian, I will forgive the offenders personally but still report them to the appropriate authorities, peradventure, they will learn to 'love their neighbour' through the 'rehabilitation services' provided by the secular justice system.

John 4:19-24
King James Version (KJV)

19The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

20Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

21Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

22Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

23But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

24God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Today's churches have become business centres! It has resulted in MAN WORSHIP and MONEY WORSHIP! The amount of money wasted on building places of worship can be better spent bettering the lives of believers and non-believers. People are 'forced' to bring money they cannot spare for purposes that are not essential! The people are suffering but the Church building is covered in Gold (not literally)!  sad  Non-believers are already asking for churches to be taxed because of the corruption found in Churches, and it will happen!

When the Anti-Christ turns in full force on Christians and you cannot gather in a 'physical Church', you will have to not worship God at Christ Embassy or wherever but at home, in secret (underground), in spirit and in truth! The church is spiritual, not a brick building or a denomination!

^^^ So, 'the bible corrupting team' thought it was necesary to replace the name of Abraham's father with another name, not knowing that Allah would expose the real name to Mohammed! Now, to what end was the falsification done?   huh  huh And why does the Bible's record tally with history and Jewish records? Did they also fabricate a new name for Abraham's father?

Pastor AIO:
When Jesus said:
"Judge not . . according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment." That was before the new covenant but since his death and resurrection we are now out of the old covenant and under the new and in the new covenant we are not allowed to judge. Abi? In the new covenant Paul knows best.
Could you explain more on the above, please? I don't get what you are saying here!
My brother, I am not the type to try to evade a £10 train fare. There were no conductors on the train. It was an hour journey. The reason I felt bad is because I feel this is the norm nowadays. Preferential treatment of oyinbo even they do worse than us dudus. Even in Nigeria, Lebaneses run things. Its sad and as for me, I wont let it pass.
You were discriminated against! Get a good lawyer if you can't handle the case yourself! CCTV showing how that lady was let go without any problems and your discriminatory and humiliating treatment would be vital (and this is why you might need a lawyer because the CCTV might 'miraculously' become faulty/ erased/lost )! You should have been treated just like the lady was treated. There are plenty of train stations across the UK where the ticket offices are closed and there is no one around to help! Good luck with your case!

There are loads of nice people from all parts of the world in the UK, and there are the kind you wouldn't want your enemy to encounter!

With this level of corruption at the Nigerian Immigration Service, the Nigerian Passport will soon be worth nothing and holders will be subjected to more humiliation at foreign ports of entry. Who knows how many non-Nigerian criminals can boast of a fake Nigerian Name and address on an Original Passport! There's no need to go to Oluwole anymore since you can get the original thing from immigration with a bribe! sad

so r u saying that if we are educated, we become more developed by marrying sumwun from another tribe huh huh  yet isnt it our moral duty ALSO to protect our culture? my firend, education has absolutely nuthing to do with cohabitation. its time we stop being so selfish and think for d greater good.  angry angry

i can be educated, i can be smart, YET i can also be a tribal nwhen i am not wearing my suit, i have d moral right and duty to don sum face paint and leaves and do a masquerade, if it is a part of my age-old traditions and culture. one must enjoy life, but one most also not forget his/her duties to the community.
Education usually results in enlightenment . . . but obviously not in every case! Two parties decide to put ethnic barriers behind them and get married, and live happily together; I see no problem with that! If education does not improve us, what will! Marriage does not stop you from performing your 'age old traditions and customs'! Education - if enlightenment had come by it - lets you get rid of 'age old traditions and customs' that add no value to your life or that of the society! Try placing traditional scarifices at t- junctions in the middle of London, and you'll enjoy explaining to the police how it is your tradition and culture!  grin  grin Letting go of ridiculous/needless traditions does not mean you forget your duties to the society! There are people marry and consumate marriages with children as part of their culture/tradition. Education enlightens us and helps us refine our way of life - if we let it!

This is a very interesting topic, I am looking forward to learning more and more ways to make indomie an interesting meal.
I will surely try the corned beef, suya/green pepper and goat meat methods.

I have a variety of ways of making my own indomie:

1. Boil the onions and chopped fresh tomatoes a bit before adding the indomie and spice.

2. Number 1 with some vegetable oil and eggs or even chopped carrots

3. Indomie and sweet corn or mixed veg.

4. Indomie with onions and sardine.

I know someone who adds hotdogs. Delicious!!!
Your number 4 is my favorite. Gotta add some peppers and onions though.  . . .  and the boarding school days of Indomie soaked in Cold water  wink. It had to be indomie cos maggi minute noodles doesn't taste as nice when soaked in cold water.

PAGAN 9JA:
guyz, im personally a Maguzawa-Hausa, but after seeing all these posts, ive seen that its become more of a Yoruba-women bashing thread. Im from a different tribe, yet it deeply saddens me that ppl r making fun of other ppl and also d fact that not one Yoruba man has come to defend the Yoruba women. Instead everyone gos on ranting about the qualities of the Igbo women, ehich is alright, yet not right when it comes to comparing them with the Yoruba women. this Inter-tribal thing was a bad idea from the very starts. men and woman must stick to, help, protect and enhance the image of their tribe rather than praising the qualities & running off with sum other fella from another tribe.
grin  grin You obviously missed the thread where one Igbo boy was saying Igbos are the OYINBOS of Africa!  grin  grin They are first class, aren't they?? Empty barrels and noise  . . . . !   grin It amazes me that a 'fair' complexion is the measure of beauty! I have seen Igbo girls darker than dark, and yoruba girls so fair! Being dirty or neat has nothing to do with tribe or ethnicity, it is a personal thing!

That said, there are more IGBO-YORUBA inter-marriages this days because of our education and it is a fantastic development! My Yoruba bunkie at Uni married an Igbo guy; my Aunt married a Calabar man; my sister has only ever dated Delta guys; my Anambra uni friend married a yoruba guy . . . it's all happening around us and it is a very welcome development! The days of  'you must marry someone from your village or Amadioha/Sango will strike you'  grin are fast coming to an end!

It is people like the immigration officer that really makes me scared for the future of Nigeria! Even if we break up into 20 states, we will still take all these corrupt people with us! They are everywhere!  sad  angry! Didn't a thread/post say OBJ said it was impossible to eradicate corruption in Nigeria?? A stronger stance needs to be taken against corruption in Nigeria and Africa as a whole! Law enforcement agents sex/u/al/y abusing helpless women and Children, and taking bribes?   angry  sad Will people stop trying to get into other countries illegally despite knowing the possible dangers they are exposing themselves to  . . .  sad  angry  . . . . People risk death, rape, illness to live in another country but do not want to risk  the same to get our leaders to make their home country livable? When are we going to liberate ourselves? Sorry, If I am just rambling . . .  angry

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ and seyibrown didn't answer the question of the thread.
. . . .  . and I didn't claim I did, Egbon, in the above post! I gave pointers.

Digging into the nature of Fig trees will help the OP to come closer to the situation, reasons and significance of that particular event.

Perhaps this will help you on the matter of the fig tree, Sweetnecta: Jimoh to ba ma l'oyin, Alamisi la ti n mo! The fig tree did not have any pre-season fruits (which are also edible), and if it was full of leaves, it meant it would be not have the main season fruits as well for that year! It wasn't 'pregnant' when it was supposed to be! It wasn't bearing fruit! Some background info helps to clear up little things that seem confusing in the bible! Christians ought not be caught in moments of 'not bearing fruit'!
Christianity EtcRe: Why Does Everybody Think They Would Go To Heaven by seyibrown(f): 12:56pm On Jun 17, 2011
I don't think everybody thinks/believes they will go to heaven, rather, many people HOPE they will, some (minority of the world population) BELIEVE they will, and the rest DON'T BELIEVE THERE IS A HEAVEN anyway!
Christianity EtcRe: A Spiritual Government by seyibrown(f): 9:14am On Jun 17, 2011
I can go on and on but what’s the point? The bottom line is that man need not rely on his intellect to conceive any form of government; man need not create any new system of government. He only needs to adjust his earth life to the governance of God, the governance that exists in the kingdom of God, a kingdom from which man originated and a part of which he carry within him.
You said it all, Bro! We waste valuable time and resources trying to govern our selves without God, and history has repeatedly shown the futility of doing this! The present is telling us we have not been doing it right! An ungodly government - democracy, theocracy or whatever - will take us nowhere!

Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan.

When people who are not aligned with God's will form and run a government, the people will suffer under any such governance!

This is a wonderful piece and calls for reasoning. 2,000 years is long gone. its time we do away with this armageddon and rapture doctrines and make the world a better place.
. . . . . and how do you think we can make this world a better place? What solutions do you propose to make this world a better place? Which of your efforts have yielded measurable success? What are your plans for those who DO NOT WANT THIS WORLD TO BE A BETTER PLACE?

Don't leave anything of yours that can be sold where your brother can get to it! Once beaten, twice shy! He had no right to sell your car or anything of yours without your consent! I wouldn't leave my wife around this kind of brother! This kind of brother can kill for money, IMHO!
