FamilyRe: Should Children Say Thank You To Their Parent(s) After Every Meal? by shevon: 6:46pm On Oct 05, 2017
Funny enough, I had same conversation with my wife today. A delivery guy brought diapers I ordered online, I transferred the cash to her account, she paid and told me afterwards and I thanked her. She then asked why I was thanking her, I told her it was just out of mare cutesy.
Children should thank their parents after a meal not because their parents are doing them any favour, but simply out of cutesy.
Yes, parents have the obligation to provide for their children and the children should appreciate the efforts put in by the parents to provide for them, mostly out of cutesy. In doing that, the children will also learn to appreciate people outside when efforts are put into providing them any service or favours. If the child doesn't say thank you, that is not a ground for victimisation or an opportunity to beat the child to force it on the child because the parent has not done anything extraordinary for the child.
That's just my opinion though, to each his own.

you should spread some or your cash with another bank.. Why don't u bank with First bank? I would be grateful if you open an account
I have other account but because of financial discipline, I decided decided not to have ATM cards or internet banking access to the other accounts. I've got FCMB and Access Bank accounts, there is no point in having accounts scattered all over.
Thanks for the offer though.
BusinessRe: Gtbank Apologizes To Customers Over Network Failure by shevon:
I have never been embarrassed as much as I was yesterday, all my online and ATM transactions were declined. If not for the fact that I was well know at the restaurant I went to in VI yesterday, who knows what would have become of me. At the end of the day, I had to beg for cash at the office before I could leave.
It was terrible.

Appropriate but the tribalism exhibited within is equally worrying.
That's the irony of life. When we throw shades at each other, we are, somewhat, OK with it. But when an outsider throws shades at Nigerians, you can't tell a Yoruba man different from an Igbo or Hausa man because we all will go all out and call for the MF's head. I wonder why then all the internal squabble, why we can't just live together in peace without the tribalism and hate for each other, only the bare our fangs at non-nigerians taking a swipe at us.

Fkforyou:
Apparently she might not be cheating, what I find annoying is the way she is losing guard towards that so called friend to the extent that he would be asking her if she misses him. The guy is just being a perv and should try and get a girlfriend that would miss him, not a married woman. angry

Also, I think he is mistaking the woman's posture (being at ease) around him to mean she has interest. She should minimize the way she chats with him especially that night chat because it seems it's beginning to give him ideas. angry
You might be right.
I call my married female friends Babe, even when I receive or call them in my wife's presence. The only thing I would have done differently if I were the lady is to ask the guy to stop being silly by asking me if I missed him (even if we had a history) and the late chats too will definitely pass a wrong message.
But the heart of men/women is very deep sha, it is well.
OP, like someone suggested, let themselves out. You might give an advice that may be misconstrued once they have made up and are in za oza room. Ọrọ Ọkọ ati Iyawo o se da si.

If the chief of staff really knew the kinda master he has, if Fayose is going to the toilet, he would announce it and arrange journalists to cover him.

The only ailment that can weigh Fayose down is media inattention.

GamingWhere Can I Get (legacy) Xbox Original Games In Lagos by shevon(op): 5:26am On Sep 03, 2017
Hi all.
I have a PS4 in the house but my son won't let me play it in peace, he keeps dragging the control with me and cries when I end or shutdown the system.
Anyways, told my brother in-law about it and he gave my boy his old Xbox Original but the disks he gave us are not playing due to overuse. I've been searching for where to get games to no avail, any ideas?

the writer is broke that's why!
I beg to disagree. These services are not a status thing (except you are using Uber Select) and most often than not, they are even cheaper and more comfortable than using your regular taxi. The only problem is the quality of service they office.
Take for instance the fee they charge for their driver not coming to pick up a rider, if you have you card on the app, they will definitely it your account and when you report the issue, they credit the money to your Uber account. What if the remaining money in your account is meant for another thing but you want to use the 1k to get another taxi service, how will you use the money credited to your Uber account to pay the Baba that'll come pick you up? What is the sanction they place in such drivers?
There are so many things they can do to ensure they don't charge riders unreasonably but choose not to because they know if they charge and credit the money to your Uber account, you would have no choice but to use them again until you exhaust the money in your wallet. Most times, you have to request for rides upwards of 3 times before you get someone to come pick you up.
It is just sad.
TravelRe: 4 Ways Uber And Taxify Are Cheating Nigerians by shevon: 7:17am On Aug 12, 2017
AutoJoshNG:
They take longer routes
This particular issue is so sad. Their navigation systems and some drivers have been programmed to take you through longer routes in order to get the maximum bucks out of every trip. Few weeks ago, I booked Taxify from Ikeja Computer Village to Ijora. Before I knew it, the driver and his navigation entered Awolowo Road to go take 3rd Mainland Bridge through the old toll gate area.

Then I asked the driver to turn and take Ikorodu Road through Maryland which he did. All through the trip, the map kept telling us to make a U-Turn and go through 3rd Mainland even after we got to Anthony on Ikorodu Road, the map kept asking us to re-route. Just Imagine taking 3rd Mainland Bridge from Anthony to Ijora. Too bad! .. If you are thinking there was traffic on Ikorodu Road, no.. there wasn’t.

Just this week again someone who was going from Ijesha express to Ilupeju (10 minutes journey) was taken all the way to Ikorodu Road through Stadium (30 minutes journey).. your transport fare will be more than double.

So it is better you to know the best route to your destination.

Cancellation of trip before pick up
Uber charges N1,000 request cancellation fee and it became even worse after their drivers became disgruntled with them.. so the drivers started taking advantage of that. They will accept your pick up request with prior knowledge of not coming to pick you up. Then they will cancel your request after 5 minutes with an excuse that they can’t come pick you again.

Despite the cancellation being the driver’s fault, Uber will deduct the N1,000 from you card immediately or they’ll add it to your next trip fare. See trouble o!

Surge pricing
You’ll get adverts on price discounts flooding your phone but when you are actually booking a trip, everything will be on surge. Do the calculation, they give you 20% discount but surge price is 1.3x. Maintaining the status quo is sometimes better.

https://autojosh.com/4-ways-uber-and-taxify-are-cheating-nigerians/
Bros, you are sssooooo right about Uber on these 3 points. Heaven help you if you don't know your way around. Imagine me always booking Uber to take me from Awolowo Way, Ikeja to Beesam in Mafoluku and the app will be showing the driver the best route is Awolow Way-Medical Road-Agege Motor Rd-Ladipo-Ogundele to my final destination when the driver could have just taken Awolowo Way-Medical Rd.-Airport Rd to Beesam and saved nothing less than 20mins drive.
And the most annoying for me is charging of N1,000.00 every time their driver fail to come pick you. I booked one a few weeks ago, he was at Abba Johnson and was supposed to come pick my wife and baby at Lagoon Hospital on Adeniyi Jones (less than 1min drive o) despite asking us to wait for him, the driver drive past the hospital and headed towards the local airport. After an endless wait, Uber charged us N1,000.00 "for the driver's time". I was so pissed that even me wouldn't have taken the kind of email I wrote them as a joke, the idiotic Uber company wrote me back and said sometimes, the drivers can't make a pick up for technical reasons. Ha! Technical reason for someone that was supposed to pick us less than 1 minute away from where he was when we requested the ride? Who even told us to wait that he'd come but headed to the airport? What is so technical about that other than wickedness because he knew we'd still be charged for it?
I just jeje removed my card from the app and wished them all the best with their idiotic services.
For the surge pricing, that is share rip off. Drivers will be everywhere I yet they say there is surge due to high demands. Even these drivers will intentionally go offline as soon as it gets to certain period of the day to create scarcity thereby creating a situation for the surge.
They don't really care about their customers, all they are after is the money they'd make of the sub par service they offer.
