Bookmarked.

Even if it starts, it is easily quenched due to counter-protests which makes it easy to move in the military like Goodluck Jonathan did to end Occupy Nigeria.

A die-hard Obi supporter got schooled by a friend who served in Anambra, about Obi's double face, divisive nature and documented issues in Anambra but he shouted his friend down. After winning the presidential votes for Obi, the guy switched to Sanwo-Olu for governorship and was roundly insulted by lots of his co-Obidients. Now the mumu just shared this article, published about Obi in 2017, today on our platform

https://saharareporters.com/2017/09/12/anambra-2017-peter-obi-malignant-narcissist-masquerading-saint-churchill-okonkwo

We asked him "Bro, but that same article was shared with you long before the presidential election and you trashed it as irrelevant." Nobody asked him not to vote Obi, they only warned him that Obi himself is not the saint that he thought he was. When you find fault in other people's candidate, it is natural for them to look closely at your candidate too.

Ayo25:
Obi's footprint is division. Wherever he goes he spreads division grin

Nigeria is too divided already to have Obi as President again. grin
PoliticsRe: APGA Catholics Accuse Archbishop Of Onitsha Of Aiding Priests To Campaign For LP by Shikena(m): 6:43pm On Mar 21, 2023
Many of the real enemies of Peter Obi's presidential attempt are right here on Nairaland. They used their razor sharp mouths and cho cho cho uncultured nature to rally support for Tinubu and Atiku.

No matter how smart you think you sound, most Africans don't look kindly on anyone mocking old age or perceived health status. Don't get carried away with what you read online mostly influenced by western kids and their culture, Africans are different. Many people shared and forwarded Nairaland posts on various other platform to back their arguments against Obi, I saw lots of such careless posts.

These kids scored lots of devastating own goals against Team Obi. Hope they learned their lessons but I doubt it.

Guy, you don't need any visa to relocate to Awka.

TheGift:
if Sanwo is performing , why was He suddenly desperately trying to convince us of His achievement, why were the elections massively
rigged, in the most intimidating way, and why do they feel the need to rent an observer group to tell us everything was perfect. When we can all observe the contrary for ourselves?

If Sanwo is performing , any Lagosian should be able to feel it, not only people that are privy to their nice ideas and intentions.

PoliticsRe: Tribalism Hidden In Foundations Of Our Country Have Come Out - Bolanle Olukanni by Shikena(m): 3:58pm On Mar 19, 2023
Simple. Always understand the history of your hosts. We know the story of Ilorin in Kwara State, a major Oyo city that was captured by the Fulanis. Yorubas never accounted for fate while preparing to retake their lands. By the time offensives were launched towards Ilorin, the British colonialists were already here and every war had to stop.

Some of these same Igbos crying today have been mocking Yorubas about Ilorin. I recall a dogged activist always saying "the Sumer people died, why did they die? They forgot their history!". These Igbo kids and some irresponsible adults resulted to mocking Yorubas with 'AFONJA' chants. It's all fun online until IPOB came, then much later the Peter Obi movement aligning with Atiku, and today with full Obi ElluPi movement.

To make matters worse, Lagos became a heated topic with the sneaky "NO MAN'S LAND" statements. Are Yorubas fools? Will Igbos take that kind of situation with the stated historical sequence above? Let's always view issues from the other side. The Igbos forced the hands of the Yorubas, many of who were proud OBIDIENTS.

Let everybody learn from this. Nothing good can ever come out of sheer disdain for MUTUAL RESPECT. Have emotional intelligence and respect other people even if their culture is primitive in your views!!!!

Lekomax:
How will they retaliate? Instead of you to advise them to be well behaved like other tribes living in Yoruba land, you rather talk about retaliation. You hardly see Yorubas and other tribes living in Igbo land, so if they foment trouble, they will end up being losers. They always want to dominate wherever they are, but can't tolerate other tribes. Yorubas are not fools, enough is enough.
PoliticsRe: Tribalism Hidden In Foundations Of Our Country Have Come Out - Bolanle Olukanni by Shikena(m): 3:47pm On Mar 19, 2023
Thank you!

olab059:
Yes, they never forget...and that's why we are where we are today. The war was over in 1970, but they never forgot, and never moved on. Always telling their children that Yoruba people can never be trusted. Calling Yoruba people cowards at every chance they get. Always blaming a whole tribe for the sins of a few people from that tribe decades after those people have died. They started this recent tribal war, and when it appeared like they were taking the kindness of Yoruba people for weakness, Yoruba people had to unite and defend their heritage.
PoliticsRe: Tribalism Hidden In Foundations Of Our Country Have Come Out - Bolanle Olukanni by Shikena(m): 3:45pm On Mar 19, 2023
Then you don't know your own history as a Yoruba. Yorubas are more than capable of handling that. Yorubas are not new to cohabitation. The 1st Alaafin of Oyo married a Nupe woman, the mother of the 2nd Alaafin of Oyo. The 2nd Alaafin of Oyo was also married to another Nupe woman! Isiaka Adeleke was governor of Osun in the 90s. His mother is Igbo. His brother was a senator and now serving governor of Osun State. The governor of Ondo State is married to an Igbo woman. The mother of Desmond Elliot is Igbo.

Yorubas will adjust. It is the Igbos that have the most lessons to learn and absorb. They are not the only non-natives in Lagos. Why are the Edos, Ijaws, Hausas etc not having all these issues? I won't apportion any blame anymore but sorry, Yorubas are always ready for any retaliation but will continue to live well with those who appreciate the beauty of mutual respect.

Jnkay:
My take is what goes around comes around. When Igbos will hit us back we Yorubas should not complain. I know Igbos because they don't forget things easily and they will remind us all we did to them soon that is who they are. They will keep quite but they will eventually retaliate.

Make all our states competitive. Challenge your governors. Some states are in good hands but they all need to do more.

We still have "state of origin" as a legal requirement on lots of official documents so Nigerians deserve to have viable states of origin as their first choice. This is very important until we remove 'state of origin' from all official requirements.

Fut9ure:
Have you asked yourself who was the right person for the presidential job among the four major contestants
Tinubu,kwankwaso, obi and atiku

Guess what people! This four contestants were from the three major tribe

And so the South South were in a better position to decide without tribal sentiments and they did. They chose obi...
When igbos saw the support South South gave obi that was when the igbos supported obi
Obi was never an igbo project

Na we South south put obi matter for head especially Edo and delta
If you can't handover your daughter or sister for Marriage to a sick old man with dementia not physically and mentally fit and he is not aware of his environment with parkinson disease but you want this same man to head over 220 million Nigerians then may you and your family know no peace

If you pretend not to know what we passed through in the hands of Buhari with his incessant travel for medical check up to the extent that the whole country was complaining and even the yorubas were saying he should hand over to a young vibrant Osinbajo then may you and children know no peace
