If people do not want him, who do they want? Ladoja or Akala? then there must be something wrong with how those people think. How they could even consider Akala in the first place and then second time still puzzles me. I do not know much about the Makinde guy sha, but he seems like a fresh, right thinking young man |
It is a pity you were careless, the man was ready to support your education and is still ready to do so,your availability to help out with little errands is an advantage to the family. Even in your parents' house, would you not have to take care of your younger ones, if required? If you can get a job and send yourself to school next year, please move out and be fully independent as you were before. but if you still hope to get support from somewhere then you may not be independent yet and 1 year of loosing your indepence is not too much a price to pay in that case. |
I was not particularly concerned about how long I lived untill I started having kids, a child without a mother is in for a BIG struggle in this evil world. God, please preserve my life for my children o!!!!!! in Jesus name AMEN. |
TDstarr:Abi? how dare they have such a nice time on their own without men, what Effrontery! |
Please, let someone confirm that tis place is open, If it is not, someone should please tell the authoriities that it musty open this Chritmas season, I beg! |
Children with disabilities have been the most abused from kingdom come, especially the ones who cannot talk. |
This is coming from a country where rape has become a common crime. The guy does not have anything to do against the gang rape of innocent village/rural girls. I remember a discussion I had with some people last month after hearing about the high rate of sexual mlolestation in Egypt in the news. i just did not understand, if people say clothes that are revealing are the reason women are being raped, why is rape an issue in Egypt? |
Did I hear someone say these things are common, that many men have these already? I am sorry, you have no clue what this list is all about or maybe you really need to read it again and understand. |
This is one of the threads that make me think perhaps there is still something to gain from Nairaland. You guys have been terrific, it has been very pleasant reading through, I got interested as a parent who is always on the look out for news about schools, etc and found it interesting that this particular school is carrying out an online recruitment excercise of this magnitude. I cannot stop laughing over this truvine: |
moderatorr:There is no way a person will not aknowledge and appreciate this kind of consistent and productive help, not exploitative and manipulative, taking the other person for a fool. |
DailyNews:Nope. not you and I, you must be mistaking me for someone else. I am sorry I cannot relate with the example you gave. |
As long as people see taking a corpse "home" for burial as a must then they will continue to be subjected to this exploitation and manipulation. If you know you want to be buried in the village, please find out about the traditional expectations and start to put things in place before you die, do not put unnecessary burdens on your children. I gathered that some titled chiefs in certain areas live out of this, so 'keeping the tradition' is very beneficial to them, they will always have stories to tell of someone who refused to provide the cows for a burial rite and died within 7days or how young people started dying in the family! It is appointed to man to die once and after death is judgment, if you like slaughter twenty cows and bury him in a freshly built skyscraper. |
pappyrose:Is this a woman's love or a mother's love? |
No PhD support? |
They see Boko Haram and take to their heels but are ever ready to harass 'bloody civilians'. Who are they fooling? |
I just love this, kudos to the guys who put this together. |
babygirlfl:Thank you babygirlfl, it has not been easy to hold that dialogue amidst all the hostility on this thread and it seems 'that' question will not be answered afterall. |
@SirShymex, Now I know that you did not see my question, I'll repeat it below. There is a question I'll like to ask you, you have mentioned how you expect people to stick to the established roles and how ready you are to be the provider etc, what happens if for some reason you are not able to play the roles you mentioned in your marriage, how will you cope? |
@SirShymex, I also dislike disrespectful men so I know exactly how you feel. On women leaders, I lead a team of twelve individuals in a Technology driven industry, I may not be the best or be exceptional, but I have always fallen above average during the company's annual performance appraisal. Maybe I have a limit but I have apparently not reached it yet! You did not answer the question I asked you in my previous post, I will respect your wish if you do not want to answer it, I just want to be sure that you saw it. |
@SirShymex. I have found your posts on this topic very interesting and agree with you that change may have to come with the next generation, It is 'tough' to break a habit. We are the 'Transitional' generation and I beleive that is the reason for the many marriage failure. I do not fully agree with you that men are natural leaders if they were, we would not have an issue with submision (whatever the variance of definition!) in relationships, believe me, if you lead a woman right today and lead her right tomorrow, she will follow you forever! This is not even limited to women alone, be an obvious leader, leading people to solutions and you will always have followers. There is a question I'll like to ask you, you have mentioned how you expect people to stick to the established roles and how ready you are to be the provider etc, what happens if for some reason you are not able to play the roles you mentioned in your marriage, how will you cope? |
I really do not understand why people would think the man did a better thing than the woman for taking them to a school. The woman left the kids with their father, not strangers, they bear his name for goodness sake. |
She mentioned that her father did not want her to buy the Range Rover, she bought it after she was able to persuade the man to allow her. This reminds me of a Yoruba proverb that says 'What an old person can see sitting down, even if a young person climbs a tree he/she will/may not see it! |
DailyNews:And most men can? I guess history has shown that men actually remain the same after they come across fame and wealth? ![]() |
joeekuns: Overseas a guy can win a girls heart with just $5(which is about #800) and after that the bleeping continues regardless of whether he spends again but here in 9ja when you don't spend females translate it to mean you're insensitive and unromantic regardless of whether the money is there or not. It's a relationship which is all about sharing... so if the girl has and the guy doesn't then she should help out likewise if it's the other way round the guy should pull through also. That whole mentality of "if he doesn't spend then he's not getting any" and "na love I wan chop?" should stop cos truth be told the ladies enjoy sex more than men(we only ask for it more)This is an example of an inconsistency I do not understand, if the lady also 'enjoy' the sex, so why are guys still ready to spend for sex? should the sex not be enough to make the girls come running? |
You really cannot use the Nigeria routes to judge many of these airlines, most of them bring their worst aircrafts and services here. |
Acidosis: "If you meet a man or a woman who can’t communicate his/her career goals and/or his/her goals are vague (e.g. “My goal is to be a millionaire in 5 years), he/she may lack potential.I agree with you that a person who cannot communicate his/her goals clearly may lack potentials We should also be cautious of those' talk talk no productivity-mobility but no action' guys, they can spend the whole day telling you how they are going to register ten companies in partnership with their pal in the US and how the technology will revolutionalize things, all na lie. |
Pheeew! finaly someone got to mention that Blueband is not butter, after how many posts of heated argument? A passionate request was even made for one to go back to the Romance section where 'Intelligence will not be challenged' by someone calling Blueband butter! Chei Nairaland! |
I just pity females, you are sent to school to get some education and obtain a good diploma for your future, you end up washing clothes, dishes cooking, and doing some other stuff for a fellow student. Check anyone who said such a relationship was the best the person ever had, you will see that it is a guy. Then the girls come out with useless certificates that cannot hold water and start looking for someone to sleep with to get jobs, so the bondage continues! |
My dear, it is not only in Nigeria o, did you not hear of the report from Haiti that time? When the men put in charge of food distribution at the camps post the earthquake were demanding for sex before giving the women and children food? These were women who had just gone through a horrific experience and what those men could think of was to exploit them even in that situation. There is evil in this world. |
Why would he want to come back to a place where his salary was not regular and had to go on the pages of newspapers to get his money paid, if there are better opportunities out there as he claims. I am sure he will say he is serving his Father land, but who is he fooling? |
