dayokanu: E.g Without marriage would Shade Okoya have been able to afford a home in IkoyiNo, she would not have, but also are many guys on the street of Lagos who drive big cars and live in houses they cannot afford because the girl working the money wants to be a Mrs. You would always know about the 'Shade' because she will be proud to tell you her husband got it for her, while the husband leaving large on the wife's money is always executing one 'deal' or the other and you will never hear it from the poor wife, or she will immediately be termed a bad wife who wants to disrespect her husband because she has money! |
@Tgirl4real. We still need marriages, I agree with Alore's post. @dayokanu I agree with the biological clock thing , I have a couple of friends who are currently depressed because the biological clock is ticking and they cannot go against their religious belief and go get what they actually want, which is Children! |
dayokanu: Women benefit from marriage more thats why they long for it more. There is a statement about that from Byvan sensible 'rant' ''Most women won't be married if the society is not so obscessed with marriage and kids'' I want to add Religious beliefs to the list of why women long for marraige, the discrimination against single ladies is worst in religious gathering, even against those who have never been married o! |
Thanks all, will try out the tips on moisturising hair, Sodium Hydroxide (lye) may hurt your scalp, but Calcium hydroxide which is often regarded as 'no lye' drys the hair out more and it also leaves residue that one would need a clearifying shampoo to remove. |
I hear people say, 'massage his ego', 'reassure him' encourage him etc. My dear, you may end up doing that for the rest of your life, you may have to keep on assuring and assuring, untill you ger irritated. What other wives can say to their successful/'alpha male' husbands during the usual marriage quarells and get away with or get disregarded must not come out of your own mouth. So like someone righly mentioned, think about it, it may also mean that you may never find the 'suitable' one and get to be 50years old in your father's house, that may be a suicide mission in a Nigerian society. It may come to settling for the better (to you) of two evils. That's why you see some ladies and cannot stop wondering what they saw in the men they married, because you cannot see any value the guy is adding to her life than the Mrs. status he has given to her! |
Checked out the Profective Mega growth, it's No Lye. Thanks anyway. |
Thanks, Omokhary, is mega growth 'Lye'? |
xx |
Dear Ladies, The only relaxer that has been able to straighten my very coarse hair is Gentle Treatment No lye super strength but I end up with dry and brittle hair, I found out that lye relaxers do not dry out hair as much and would like to know if there is a lye relaxer that can handle very coarse and resistant hair. Thank you. |
I just wonder, if you paid your bills, how did they know you had a baby there? |
I saw it on sothesbeauty.com while checking out AHA peels, has anyone ordered anything from these guys (Sothesbeauty) before? Are they genuine? One needs to pay online before delivery! |
^^^^and why cant one get it from a shop with a name? |
You can answer her when she greets you by name to avoid being called a trouble maker and still put her where she belongs. There are quiet 'i no want trouble' ways of letting people know you will not take sh..t |
^^^^^^^^ The muslim guy or the 'traditional marriage' that just took place? |
agiboma: this is an old post but i found it funny, you know my hubby once told me " if you where dumb, we would get along better" LOLZ.He is right you know, if u were dump you would not notice many of the wrong things he probably does/says, talkless of criticising him. Many people Male/Female feel more comfortable with people we know will never see our wrong, where we can be local champions! |
meipsum1: @ KOBOJUNKIE, judging by your demeanour in your profile picture, the confidence your responses on this post so far exudes, I ASSUME, you are a woman who has alot of potentials, abilities and can even be taken for a man, it is great. There was once a goal keeper called CHILAVERT(he made history by being the highest goal scorer amidst keepers), he is a great goal keeper but also has the abilities to score free kicks. Whenever there is a free kick, they call him to come and play it.He scores it and go pack to his goal post. That he scores free kicks doesn't make him a midfielder. He always go back to his goalpost. Are you saying having 'a lot of potentials and abilities' can only be attributed to men? that it is a 'great' thing indeed that Kobojunkie having being adjugded by you as having these abilities, can now be taken for a man? I am really struggling with this logic, because from my school days to my years of experience carrying out End of Year staff Appraisals, I never thought potentials and abilities were gender specific. |

oyin50: . Ideally, the answer to this question is determined by individual priorities. To some being divorced or single is nightmarish and not on their agendas, to some being single or divorce is hip and could care less of having multiple partners. Those are the two extremes, the second being the wrong tag put on the single & divorced. |
I wonder why people think having your husband 'snatched' is the worst thing that can happen to the woman? |
The poor ex-wife was the only one he could afford to sleep with then, she was the only one who would allow such a nobody to touch her, so he had to make do with what he could have, the ones he is 'falling inlove' with now would never have touched him with a long pole! |
@Ademola What would the total cost for Honda CRV 2000 be? interested in getting one |
Any reduction in price? How low can you go? |
quote author=kitty kat]They care more abt ho much is in his pocket today and how much he is willing to release than how he got it or how much it will last. They blv in eatingg now and if it finishes today another loaded MUGU will come. Most of our mothers too have helped to sculpture our young ladies into this. Our generation can change this, if we dare to be different. I am not sayin u shd dump ur RanGe driver bobo and pick one with no mechanical means of parambulation bit let ur reason for being with him be beyond d material.[/quote]. Maybe beacause from their own expreriences they cannot see the benefit. They problay ended up having a younger more educated wife/concubine sharing the fruit of their labour with them |
^^^^^^ to continue about Mummy & Daddy? No, mba thank you. |
I just wonder at the Lazy 'African Majic' wives that have been potrayed on this thread, where are these women? Maybe I belong to another generation because I cant see these women, even the so called housewives I know are the 'School moms' who are heavily involved with various School activities that we that are working and cannot spare the time are ever grateful to them, they are the ones who volunteer for PTA activities and are ever ready to critic and monitor the performance of the School. House work is not just cleaning and washing, in Nigeria househelps are available to do that but who manages them? who instructs?, who OBSERVES and is AWARE and MONITORS that somethings are necessary- That is the main work! What Nigerian man who lives in Nigeria can say he follows his Child's School Calender? that you check the School bag everyday for information to be acted upon? that you know how to put together a Food time table with full regard of the Family's nutritional needs? that you how to manage a child with a fever before taking to the hospital if necessary? etc etc! I remember when I had to resume work after Maternity leave with my first child, my son was just about two months old, I had to call my sister in the morning to ask her how one would ever cope, having had a practically sleepless night then to face a techinically challenging day with deadlines to meet and pile up of tasks and targets, i just could not imagine how that could be expected from any human being, but she told me others have coped before me and that I would also cope. Assuming that I pay half of the bills, would this still be 50/50? |
Na the two of you carry the pickin and na the two of you deliver and nurse the baby abi? and the pickin name na wetin? no be your name? or that one too be 50/50? I beg go and work hard to take care of that your lovely family ^^^^^^^ |
someone asked about Dallas, if it is still relevant, John Peter Smith hospital has a package for self payment called OBYN pack (Hospital + Doctor)= $4-5K The hospital is in Forth Worth however with a clinic for Pre natal visits in Arlington. |
@Poster, Which of her own 'traditional' roles are you sharing 70/20 or 80/20? |
Where dem dey? in this Nigeria or somewhere else? |
How far with the info on 42HJ? |
I am surprised that your husband who is training to be a Pastor says you should just be satisfied with saying Haleluyah and Amen? Haba? Faith cometh by hearing and hearing the word of God! Church is not a social or 'tick the box' event! like many people here suggest. It is part of the available resources you have to draw spiritual strength for this Chritian race. Do not let them use 'Pastor wife' to decieve you, like it has already been mentioned, there is no Pastor's wife in Heaven o. Let those in the Ghanian Church who are shouting Pastor's wife try to go to a Church where they cannot hear what is being said and see what it is like. I am not a fan of MFM, I have some issues with them but if your spiritual life could be the way you mentioned from attending service there, then you are on the right path. Some people have mentioned how you can try go to the two Churches, if you do not do anything during the week then this may be possible and i rejoice with you, because I cannot imagin a working wife with all she has to face on weekdays to now spend the whole Sunday in Church. |
