I was having same problem, I gave it to them like they wanted it. I didn't take sh1t from them cos the moment I start taking it, it will be difficult to start refusing it.

I show them better stubbornness when I know I am on my right, I even tell them to go report to the boss if they like.
I agree totally with the bolded. Don't start what you can't finish. ...including being 'extra nice' at the workplace.

I learnt that the hard way during my nysc at State Ministry.

He was yelling at you ke? Eh eh...that man get craze oo. grin

Your boss sef no try; he should have summoned both of you to correct this about-to-be-sour interaction. Yelling in an office environment should be a no-no, especially if it's based on personal vendetta. I pray for more grace for you to handle this kain man sha. grin

its a private organisation. der is just d boss n d workers. we hv our difrent depts n roles... superiority is kinda based on who has worked in d firm d longest. Bt even d boss says plz wen he makes a request from his workers. so y wud one fellow start forming boss wen I Dnt work for him. its frustrating
Hmmm...I get. I understand the setting and that kinda 'superiority' is awkward to begin with.

But the older colleague in question has attitude problems, regardless of the company's policy on superiority. Shebi no be only him dey dia? He certainly lacks the belief that we are to basically respect one other as colleagues, regardless of age or length of stay, and any other 'errand' is a form of favour so far it's not stated as part of the job description. And that favour is EARNED, not DEMANDED. And when it's demanded, it's done with respect.

OP, I believe you know the way that works best for you to manage people with such nasty attitudes and backdated ideologies. Just see this as one of them.

If na me, I go ignore the man anytime he demands such 'favours' without any sense of 'respect'. Wisdom though should be applied in handling this type of people. They soon become the victim of a rude, uncouth, 'Johnny-just-come employee' while you soon turn to the bad person in the process of putting him in his place.

Everyone on NL would only tell you how they would handle the imaginary situation. I believe you know the man better. Ask for divine wisdom to handle or rather, manage him. What doesn't break you simply makes you stronger.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: How Do You Deal With Colleagues Bossing You At Work? by sholay2011(m): 9:19pm On Feb 05, 2015
Na wa for some colleagues sha. Giving orders as if they are in their family house.

OP, take heart ehn. Hope no be say na State Ministry you dey work? I don't know what entails your company's policy as per employee-to-employee relations but such nonsense shouldn't be condoned in a professional environment.

If na me, I kuku get agidi before. I go just do like say I no hear the 'older colleague', and if he tries to take it further, I call him out. Yes ke, no time for bullshi.t.

Life is tough already, wouldn't want any colleague to worsen it.

Btw, it's not in the right section. This should preferably be at the 'Career' section. But people here would benefit from this discussion more I think.

Please aw can I unblock the pop up with google chrome? Can't find the setting icon plssssss
Go to 'Tools' at the topmost (Menu) bar, check 'options' and go to 'Content'.

At the 'Content' box, you would see an already-ticked box that asks you to block pop-ups.

You unblock by 'unticking' the box.
After doing this, you close the whole page (I assume you've gotten the Adobe Flash player on your computer) and open a new page. Then, log into the assessment page and voila!

PS: Oops, I think this is for mozilla browser. Dunno if it's the same for Google chrome.

True that. It's just like one has to know the 'rules' of filmmaking to be able to 'break' them. Have a look at 'Ida' with such 'unconventional' framimg...
Oga, how far? This 'Ida' has been scooping gongs all over the place for 'Best Foreign film'. Even though I'm not a filmmaker, explain this 'unconventional' framing you mentioned and what makes the film great. It's about sisters (nuns) right?

Yesterday we shared the story of Tobi the street artist who painted an amazing portrait of Banky W. With the help of our lovely followers on Instagram we tagged and mentioned Banky W till he saw it and he loved it and today met Tobi today and bought the portrait. We wish Tobi well and hope this is the start of something great for him. To everyone out there doing something good and not been noticed, just keep working hard and one day your light will shine. Keep doing your thing and you'll one day get to the top where you belong #HumansOfLagos www.thehumansoflagos.com
Oh my God!!!! shocked Banky actually got his portrait! This is amazing. Tochi, you may not know the extent to which this photography stuff will change some people's lives but what every man sows, he shall surely reap.

God bless you and the others that made Banky aware of this guy and his fantastic artwork. Changing the world (positively) can't be greater than this...it all starts with changing your 'little' surrounding: the people, the lives, the philosophy etc.

Many would be Nollywood practitioners avoid watching Nollywood movies. That's a mistake. How can you correct the mistakes of Nollywood filmmakers if you don't know and note them? I have resolved that before I engage any Actor in any serious role in my project, they must demonstrate strong knowledge and passion for Nollywood and movies in general. No one has a right to benefit from what they don't know about or love.
While you have a point, they should balance such with watching QUALITY Hollywood movies to know HOW to correct those 'mistakes' spotted in Nollywood movies.

Also, if you are not a subscriber to quality Hollywood movies, you may not even know what's wrong with Nollywood. One would just mistake mediocre for almost-best. An example is screen acting.

pls roomies...how do I disable the pop-up stuff...so stuck in here huh
Go to the topmost (Menu) bar; click 'tools', and then 'options', go to 'content' and you would see a box where you can unblock pop up windows by 'unticking' that box.

At least, this was how I did mine. And I then downloaded the Adobe Flash player. After that, I closed all the windows and opened a new window and the system is ready to be used for the test.

Best wishes.

Your email please i can't upload my result here, if you think polishing one's grammar is sign of intelligence, your brain need total overhaul.
Bro, don't mind them. There is nothing special about First Class. Your 4.47 is a rare feat on its own.

And when employers want to lump you with people that graduated with 3.5's in the same Second Class Upper category, explain to them that your case is special, that you had the chance to make it but threw it away 'cos its relevance wasn't clear to you...and it looks like achieving 'too much'.

Silly OP.
