koice: Apparently. That's cold, bro. When I used to watch Nollywood, Nkem Owoh was the only actor that cracked me up every time, and that's saying a lot, cuz I'm not the laughing type. Calling him an actor with a limited range is tantamount to pissing on Nigerian movie Industry as a whole, cuz in his prime, he was the best. "Cracking you up" doesn't make him a good actor. Go watch Basket mouth et al. if you want to laugh. A comic actor is different from a comedian. Mr Bean is a good comedian; Ralph Fiennes in 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' is a good comic actor. A Nigerian example is Femi Jacobs in 'The meeting', that's good comic acting right there. I don't give thumbs up just because someone has stayed long in the industry. Sadly, what many Nigerians look out for is cheap slapstick comedy. And I repeat, he has limited range. Art is subjective; no need arguing bro. Face your work. |

He is okay as an actor with limited range.
His only performance that I like is that of 'Stronger than Pain', where Kate Henshaw still outshined him. Not a fan of his onscreen comic antics. |

TochiPhotos: " 5 years ago a project I was working on led me to the creeks of Niger Delta. I saw first hand the suffering of the people especially the women and children who have been neglected, they can't farm on their land or fish on their rivers due to the oil spills which contaminate their environment. And nobody cares about them or how they survive. Since then I started an NGO to help those women, better their lives and send their children to school. So far we've been able to get help from the govt and some organisations abroad. I came to the social media week to campaign for their cause." www.thehumansoflagos.com God bless this woman. |

eluquenson: Mr 2 know, I never say she bought & don't be too in a haste to spew stupidity here cos we all know the dress was still not hers. Designers often make extravagant dresses for premier events. The dress didn't belong to her and I'm certain it was insured. However avarice and greed don't know boundaries....more than likely it was a member of her entourage or a hotel employee that saw a crime of perceived opportunity. If that is the case, I can only hope that the police investigate and locate the criminals.
Peace. You are just as silly as your post. Peace. |
Celebrities › Re: Stop Changing Surnames Like Pants- Helen Paul Blasts Stella Damasus. by sholay2011(m): 11:55pm On Feb 26, 2015 |
It's shocking how no female 'celeb' has come out to castigate Daniel Ademinokan who was the one MARRIED to Doris Simon but will rather go after Stella under the guise that she 'snatched' him.
Na wa. Is Daniel a handbag? If he is, what colour? If he isn't, why say he was 'snatched'? Why go after Stella as if she is the alpha and omega of the 'publicly disapproved' relationship? Doesn't it take two to tango?
I like Helen Paul as a comedian and I don't know the context in which she made the joke but this caption of it displays low IQ. |
Celebrities › Re: Lupita Nyong'o's $150k Pearl Oscars Dress STOLEN by sholay2011(m): 11:32pm On Feb 26, 2015 |
eluquenson: Nothing personal against Lupita. It is the height of vanity (and some might say arrogance and pride) to wear a dress that is so expensive and over the heads of so many people in the land of her ancestors. But then maybe it starts with the designers who had the bright idea of flaunting opulence. Bet they'll have second thoughts next time. Stop displaying your ignorance. Stars (actors, musicians etc.) do NOT own the dresses they wear to major award shows like the Oscars. They help a designer showcase his or her work by choosing to wear his/her dress to an awards show that would be expectedly viewed by millions. And after the show, the dress is RETURNED to the fashion house or designer rather. My point is even if the dress was for $1 million, Lupita didn't purchase it with her money (where she go get am sef) but rather showcased the work of a designer. Infact, designers attach security guards to such expensive dresses (and jewellery too) that watch over the celebrity over the course of the award show to prevent theft. So, it's heartbreaking that such dress has been stolen if the news is indeed true. Abeg no castigate Lupita for wearing a $150,000 dress. PS: I'm not even a fan of Lupita. |

Preciousjoz: bros, I thought birdman was a nice movie...my precious 156mb. seriously, I don't understand the movie." the spectacular now" you talked about in your other thread was nice though! Lol. I think Birdman is an 'artsy' movie from what I've read about it (I haven't seen it even). It blurrs the line between fantasy and reality; what's going on in the lead character's head and what's actually happening. I think it's an unconventional movie and would like to see it. Try rewatching it. An example of a movie I didn't get at first (and even second) viewing was 'No Country for Oldmen'. Now, I love the movie, full of suspense and keeps you on your toes. I'm glad you liked 'The Spectacular Now'. Lemme recommend this: 'Silver Linings Playbook'. |

I'm sure he deserves it. I started liking him from Les Misérables. I wanted Michael Keaton to win for 'Birdman' but Eddie wasn't a bad choice at all. So happy Birdman won best picture over Boyhood |
