Rach622: Good day Nairalanders. How much in naira should be sufficient for POF for study permit covering the principal applicant, spouse and child please Accurate advice cannot be made since you didn't provide some key information: Sufficient Proof of Funds. 1. Tuition fee $20,000 assumed / year. 2. Living Expenses $10,000 for applicant and $4000 for the spouse and $3000 for each child. All per year 3. Miscellaneous Expenses: $6000 assumed. ($3000 is for applicant) |

sayd3246: Hello , I got an admission to a school in Ontario Canada for a masters program , I would like to know if someone who doesn’t have the same name with me be my sponsor and I also have about 14m in my account. Please I need some advice on how to go about it. Thanks Accurate advice cannot be given since you didn't reveal some key information about your tuition fee among others. Hence, I will guess: 1. Living Expenses for a year $10,000 (Minimum required by IRCC) 2. Miscellaneous expenses $3000 (for flight and other expenses) 3. Tuition fee $20,000 assumed. 4. Program Duration: 1 year. If the above assumptions are correct, then your total expenses is equal to $33,000 which is equivalent to NGN 11,000,000 ($1/#334 CBN rate). This means if you have NGN 14,000,000 in your account, you have more than enough to run this program successfully. You can present someone who doesn't share the same surname as yours to be your sponsor in so far you are able to establish past connection and relationship and can be proven beyond reasonable doubts |

CharitoJames: More than blaming Nigeria, do you know what you could have done differently that you didn’t do? Or ask for advise? You would have emailed your school with a proof that the process is already on going and they would extend the deadline for you. That’s what others do. And for that Form A... it’s preferable to use banks that are not too big like Union bank... they work faster You are correct to some extent. If it's Fanshawe College, they don't want to hear stories. They believe the 30 day period is enough to do whatever you want to do. |

BenedictStinson: Omo this country and incompetency, got my offer letter withdrawn from Fanshawe as I couldn't meet up with the deposit deadline. I was initially using GT bank but switched to UBA after several assurances from the bank that they would make it in time only after opening account and funding it for Form A, they are saying nonsense like it's in the hand of CBN bla bla, it has not even crossed ADB reviewer stage. Anyway sha na to go close my account. GT bank even to cancel application still no response and yet the useless government will say they don't understand why people are desperate to leave the country where nothing ever works Use Jaiz Bank, they process only in USD though but within 4 days and 2 weeks. |

geekly44: Hey everyone, please how does Form A work ? and what are the necessary steps to take to ensure Form A works for tuition payment ? Thanks in advance. Form A is a way of asking the CBN to sell foreign currencies to you in exchange of Naira. Commercial banks are intermediary as you can not trade directly with the CBN, hence, you will open a savings or any account in Naira with a commercial bank. You'll apply for Form A through the CBN Trade Monitoring System. Documents to attach are admission letter, School bill (Flywire receipt etc), highest degree (HND, BSc etc) and passport bio-data page. After applying, the CBN will debit your Naira account and help you pay to the stated foreign bank account. That's all. |

Thanks Candidly, no university in Canada accepts HND directly into Master's degree: they also don't accept Bachelor's degree second class lower. Your best bet is go for PGD/PGC/PostBaccDip 8 months to 2 year program after which you can go for Masters. |

Senorita123: Good morning all. I just stumbled across this Canadian thread and I really appreciate the effort of everyone of you. My brother graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sociology (3.3/5) and would like to advance his studies in Canada for Spring 2023 admission.Firstly, considering that he graduated with a 2:2, should he apply for masters or phd. Also, are there schools with cheaper tuition. Finally, I would really appreciate if someone can help with a summary of the process. I tried going through the pages but I am so confused. Thank you Hi @Senorita123 You cannot get admission even for Master degree because of your 2:2- result or, let me say, it will be difficult. Your best bet is to go for a PGD/PGC/PostBaccDip. It takes 8 months to 2 years to complete this program. If you are able to secure admission and have your admission letter, you can then start to prepare to submit application for study visa. You must be able to show that you have sufficient funds to cater for the study and living. You must also be able to positively convince the Visa Officer on some factors used to assess whether to approve your study visa. In short, this journey is, although one, but divided into two parts, namely; Admission and Visa Application. Seeking admission could take you approximately either 1 year, months, weeks or 2 days. It depends on how you go about it. This is predictable. Study Visa application could take you a day or months depending on how ready your documents are. This is also predictable. Study Visa approval/refusal wait time could take days to more than a year. This part, no one can stipulate an exact time, not even IRCC. There have people who got their visa applications approved within 9 days, 11 days, 1 month, 2 months, 4 months or more. |

mrnatural: Hi guys, please my wife is about to apply for a PG cert and I’m thinking isn’t it better she apply for a master degree program since she has a good grade.
She graduated with a 2.1 and I think a master degree program is the best for her. Please I need advice on this and also a good school with lower tuition fee.
Thank you all and may it rain PPR for everyone seeking just like it’s raining this morning. A Master degree is the best for her. If admission requirements are too demanding and it takes too long to have a response, some do consider PGD. |

NaturalKinzzy: Geology because that's what I studied (undergraduate). Never heard about "Geospatial Data Analytics". Is the course highly in demand in Canada?? This is a Data Analytics course but channeled towards Geology, Surveying, Meteorology, Soil Science etc This means you can also work as a Data Analyst (General). Data Analytics is an in-demand profession in Canada |

And I'd be grateful if I can know the province where my course is highly demanded. Why Geology explicitly? What about Geospatial Data Analytics among other related courses? Don't limit yourself. |

If you have a liquidated investment, it is a proof of funds provided you can explain that you opted for the investment from your past savings because of inflation and that you will like to earn on your savings since the money has been lying fallow in your account without an interest. |

I need guide on the best career route to follow as a female and also that will later land me a a good paying job in Canada. With your BEng degree, you could get admitted for PGD/PGC/PostBaccDip. in Engineering, System Automation or Computer and IT related courses. These lines of job are lucrative and in-demand in Canada. This means you'll quickly get jobs: hence, your route to Permanent Residence will be smooth if you wish to get PR. |

Nitta08: Can I apply for study by myself or do I have to use an agent to apply? Is Duolingo accepted in place of IELTS? You can apply for study visa by yourself. Duolingo is acceptable by some while others don't accept it. There are a great number who don't require English language proficiency test from Nigerians. It depends on each school English language requirement. |

Even, if you want to see the documents agents submitted on your behalf, you can order for it alongside your GCMS notes. For the lawyer, I thought the person was talking about Nigerian agents. I accept that IRCC licensed agent cannot give log-in details but must give UCI and application number. Even if the applicants cannot get every other things, UCI and application number shouldn't be concealed. |

Atigba: What is Jaize Bank?.
The person have the money in naira. Must he change the money to dollar before he can pay You're filling Form A because you have Naira and you want to buy foreign currency from the CBN. Nigerian banks are intermediary as you cannot trade directly with the CBN. Jaiz Bank is one of the commercial banks in Nigeria. You need just open a savings account and put your Naira there. With this savings account, you can apply for Form A. The CBN will debit your savings account with the Naira equivalent of whatever amount of foreign currency you wish to buy and help pay the money to wherever you want to pay it to. |
