PLEASE I NEED YOUR HELP:
WHAT ARE THE NECESSARY STEPS, DOCS NEEDED NOW TO GET MY STUDY VISA?
IS IELTS A MUST ?
PLEASE HELP ME WITH YOUR DETAILED RESPONSES IELTS is not a must. Documents needed for study visa application are: 1. Admission Letter 2. Bank Statement showing sufficient funds. 3. IMM forms 4. Academic certificates 5. Evidence of tuition deposit if any. 6. CV 7. SOP among others. More documents depend on your case scenario. Alternatively, you can refer to the part of this thread that deals with that. You may need to read from the beginning so as to have thorough and sufficient information |

Mightyraw: Good afternoon friends, Can someone help with choice of course of study in canada for my msc, I studied mechanical engineering in my undergraduate and i had a 2.1
i'm looking forward to something more professional as i have been doing business not relating to my field of study since i graduated 2019. It depends on what year you graduated. In Canada, study gap is considered a factor in making decisions on post graduate (master degree and PhD) admission. Meanwhile, year 2019 is not far |

efunk1: Please can anyone suggest pgd courses and schools in Canada for Biochemistry 2.2 graduate with 12 year study gap? And does work experience also affect your choice of study? Cos I've not been working based on my field of study (been working as an administrative assistant in a school) It's good to pick a course that relates to your job because work experience overrides academic qualifications. There are so many courses at PGD/PGC level in Biochemistry or related courses. |

Grubsk: Hello,
I have been following this trend for a couple of weeks now and am ready to start my study permit application, I have a couple of questions to ask and I would need your help.
1. My school resumption date is March 2023, can I start my application now?
2. My 3 years old daughter is American, did upfront medicals for her already, do I need to apply for her since she has an American passport?
3. I plan to travel to the US by September once I get my study permit and enter Canada from the US by February is this advisable?
Finally, my salary is in USD and I have been doing some investments with my BDC friend and they want to pay the money back into my USD account lump sum what’s the best way for them to pay it in.?
Looking forward to your amazing advice. 1. The earliest you should start is 6 months prior to your program start date— this is September. Although people have applied earlier than six months prior to program start date and there hasn't been issues. 2. Although a US citizen doesn't need a visa to enter Canada if (s)he is not staying for a period of not more than 3 months (or 6 months, I am not sure now), since you'll be staying for more than 3 or 6 months, you should apply for visa now so you don't want to be dealing with it again after 3 or 6 months. 3. You shouldn't be turned away since you have your Canadian study visa and not out of status in the US. 4. About the lump sum, if the BDC is a registered company, let them do it officially. It's an investment in the company which you have just liquidated. Get an official letter from them, and explain. |

I am simply echoing what works for me.
I credited my colleague the equivalent amount and he applied to pay my school fees, full at that.
I have thereafter applied to open accounts with Jaiz ffor future transactions. This is 2 weeks now, I'm waiting for a notification of my new account numbers so I can operate it.
Two weeks / extra time may be much to spare, I do not know how quickly the person who requested the information needs it done.
No offense. Bro! I understand you, but the person may not, hence the reason for the warning. You waited that long because you didn't stand on their neck. You would have got it that same day if you had stood on their neck. I know how to get them do my biddings quickly. |

Onaya: Wow! I never knew about the issue you raised here regarding the validity of medical examinations, following the completion of sputum investigations after the wait time. I had rather thought that it expires within one year of the test, excluding the time taken for the result of TB test to be released. If that's the case, my medical results are still valid until the 12th of August, 2022. Unknowingly, I had already booked and paid for another medical appointment with IOM this Wednesday. Please, what do you advise I do now, considering the validity of my medicals of last year? You may want to inquire from others here or IOM about refund process. Also, double-check, confirm and establish the fact whether or not your medical is still valid, don't take my words for it, things may have changed. |

Onaya: Please, do you have any idea whether someone who underwent additional medical examinations last year— owing to a suspicion of TB by the IRCC— might be asked to go for another sputum test after the expiration of the former medicals, even though the former TB test was negative? Your medical validity starts counting from the date you completed your sputum and culture test — that is after the 8 to 10 weeks wait time of culture test. Let us suppose your medical was passed on Oct1. Your medical will expire next Sept 30. Panel Physician and others here are in the best position to give you accurate answer to whether you'll be asked to repeat the same process, but if they know what they are doing, they shouldn't ask you to complete another sputum and culture test. |

Blessed451: You nailed it but didn't mention Hepatitis B and C, they would need a doctors medical report that you pose no threat to the Canadian society by demonstrating that you have actually been on treatment or compliant with your medication, in addition to that they will require a confirmatory laboratory parameters in order to be convinced that you are good to go I didn't mention Hepatitis B & C because I doubt they'll know if it's not visible or doesn't show any clinical manifestation. I don't see where they've tested for that for study visa. |

Chuksiesmom: I have seen HIV positive persons on other platforms who got ppr. They had to declare it during the medicals and show proof of being able to afford the cost of medication. Having one of the diseases stated above doesn't mean outright visa denial. IRCC will ask the applicant to come forward with a mitigation plan in a case of HIV/AIDS. If the mitigation plan is able to convince IRCC successfully, the person is cleared. This is difficult though. The person was able to get PPR because (s)he showed strong mitigation plan for HIV/AIDS and it's very rare. Mitigation plan acceptance is 50/50 chance for HIV/AIDS and with very fat bank account. The person must be financially strong because the person is committing to the fact that (s)he would not be enrolled in any Canadian health insurance plan and the Government will not be responsible for the cost of treatment and management. Not everyone can provide such huge amount of money they may be requesting to see the applicant has. Syphilis too is treatable, it can only delay. TB and Syphilis mitigation plan are in the fact that they are treatable in as much as the patient shows seriousness in treating it and tests would be done after treatment. If tested negative, the applicant is cleared to travel. |

kichi2000: Please house am asking again. Does anyone know what counts against an applicant in the medical report 1. If you are tested positive of Syphilis. 2. If you are tested positive of HIV/AIDS. 3. If you are suspected of having Tuberculosis or history of it. No3. can only delay because if they see any scar in your XRay, they'll send you additional medical examination request whether or not you have TB. This will require you to go for TB sputum and culture test. It'll take you 8 - 10 weeks to complete this if the result comes out negative, but if positive, you will be on another journey of 8 months to treat the TB. There have been some who have treated TB since 20 years ago, the X-ray brought out the scar, Canada doesn't want to take any chance: IRCC had to subject them to additional medical examination. This means if you have had TB in the past, it's better to tell the doctor now so they can start the process of checking whether or not you still have TB. |

Does anyone have any affordable contact for this or is it something I can do myself in court. Thank you If you reside in Nigeria, just visit a court of law of any jurisdiction and ask them to notarize your documents. It's just like asking the court to "stamp" your declaration of age affidavit. It costs just #100 - #500. If you go by asking a lawyer to notarize your documents, you'll pay bills. |

mrnatural: Good afternoon Nairalanders I’m about applying to some schools for graduate studies under the faculty of Art (sociology)but then I was made to understand that some schools have higher chances of visa approval.
Please how true is this and then again I’m looking for schools with relatively low tuition fee with good chances of study visa approval.
Some of the schools I selected were UNB, Concordia university of winnipeg & university of saskatchewan.
Please guys I need your input on this.
God bless us all!!! The claim about some schools having higher chances of visa approval than others is baseless without facts and evidences. In as much as the school you're enrolling in is a DLI, you are qualified to apply for visa and get approval if the factors stated below do not count against you. The major factors that increase visa approval rate are Home Ties, Economic and Financial Assets, Purpose or Intention of Visit, Academic or Career Progression among others. If you have positive scores in the factors stated above, your visa approval is sure if medical examination, criminality and others don't count against you. |

Your CAC certificate is Ok, you can go extra mile by getting reference letter from your client or invoice from them. You can as well submit the receipt you have. It would be better if you had a business bank account. |

WiZiggy: Please can I use an app generated invoice for my business receipts? I don't have any hard copy receipts for my clients, can I submit electronic receipts, is it acceptable in visa application? I don't know the reason for wanting to submit receipts, but if you are trying to prove you are self employed, IRCC didn't stipulate a receipt has to look somehow: even for study visa, they didn't stipulate receipt is mandatory in proving self employment. There are many other important documents to prove self employment, some of them are CAC documents (certificate of business name registration, certificate of incorporation, Articles and Memorandum of Association, corporate bank account statement, purchase invoice etc). Receipts either electronic or handwritten are only mandatory to prove self employment in a case of Express Entry FSW or FST or PNP, it is not mandatory for study visa in as much as you have other important documents as proofs. |

Ajineita: Please what's the reasonable amount I need before I can pick up visa application form for undergraduate studies in Canada? What an ambiguous question! I'll try to answer in the best way explainable. 1. You need to know the tuition cost of your study which may range from $9000 or less to $50,000 or more 2. You need to have at least $10,000 for living expenses for a year. 3. Miscellaneous expenses $3000. 4. Visa application and biometric fee $235. 5. Medical Examination #46,500 minimum. 6. Admission application fee for 1 application is $100 or less or more. You may apply to more than one schools before securing admission: but if you follow experts, you may cut this cost to the minimum. All the aforementioned costs do not include expenses you'll incur gathering your documents like transcripts among others. |
