Send emails to different units of the school i.e admissions, international, support etc to confirm the genuineness of the admission. Also, if the the school had offered you admission, you would know because they would bombard your email with admission and international support emails. If you didn't receive a mail, and the agent didn't use your email in the application; I think you should suspect something sinister. Another crucial steps is to follow the school different units on Twitter, and send them DMs and public posts about your admission, ask them questions. Also, browse the school website and learn about their admission processes, tuition deposit and refund policy. Pretend you know nothing: if the agent advises anything different from the information online, that will be a red flag DuBLINGreenb: |

ANGELAREE:Ensure you inform her that the course has to be in a designated learning institute. Also, ensure she requests from the institution whether the course qualifies for PGWP because not all courses qualify |
Nitand2:You need not panic. PPR is on the way. If they have wanted to refuse you visa, they'll have months ago. |
ANGELAREE:Your friend can't go for Master degree because of her result. Meanwhile, she can enroll for Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma which we all know as Post Graduate Diploma in Nigeria. There are 1 year Grad Cert and 2 years Grad Cert. If you graduate from 1 year Grad Cert, you'll be eligible for 1 year Post Graduation Work Permit while 2 year Grad Cert will qualify you for 2 or 3 year Post Graduation Work Permit. If you choose either one, you can become a Permanent Resident after graduation. If you have the time and funds to enroll for 2 year course, it is advantageous because it will get you 2-3 year PGWP. These years will get you enough time to file for your Permanent Residence without panic. If you are constrained financially, you can go for a year, sometimes 8 month-, course which will get you a year PGWP. This option may be risky if you don't have a well detailed strategy, but I can tell you to not fret as there are strategies that can get you Permanent Residence after graduation. I wrote a post yesterday or two days ago on unfailing strategy on how to get Permanent Residence with a year course without panic of PGWP expiring. |
VonVictor:Bro, passport is 18k if you paid by yourself online except the price has increased now. Even renewal is less than 18k. I have forgotten now though. |
Don't agree on paying 35k. Report them on Twitter and copy the Minister of Interior. I paid just 55k for my renewal and new passports for my wife and two children: this is four applicants. Everything cost 55k. I did it myself online and went on the date scheduled for capturing. They weren't friendly with us at all. We managed to be humble for them to capture our details. Each month, they'll tell us stories that there weren't booklets: as I sensed that we may never get the passports until a year, I swung into action. I tweeted publicly on their handle and copied the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, the Comptroller General, Babandede and, I think, some more people in power. The same day, they got in contact with me soliciting I visit them the next day. Lo and behold, we collected our four passports with preferential treatment the next day. They put us in an air conditioned room meant for VIPs. They started begging me to comment back on Twitter that they have done well. Meanwhile, I didn't go with my children because I didn't want to put them through the suffering the officers put us through on the day of capturing. They said they'll not release my children passports because the children weren't there physically. I claimed I signed on their behalfs, and I emphasized I would not collect any passport unless I am given the whole four passports. I said I would not leave unless I have the four passports. They started running helter-skelter, in the end, they called the State Comptroller on the phone and she spoke with me begging me to go and bring the children. I said "no". In the end, they gave me all the four passports and apologized. I did similarly during renewal of my driver's license, I paid around 6k. They wanted me to pay around 18k. I insisted I would only pay 6k. I did it myself online. They sensed I was a troublesome person, they had to let me go with little delay. Meanwhile, I never made that place comfortable for them, whenever they wanted to attend to anyone that came after me, I would complain and block the way. I claimed I was also a Nigerian and they should attend to me. By the time I disturbed about two to three persons, they had to give me what I wanted. Kidsister13: |
Yes, Co-op term is part of study terms. Without the co-op term, you cannot graduate. Although some programs do make co-op optional. If you choose to do co-op, then, co-op term is part of your study terms. NgumimiT: |
Yes insofar the programs are PGWP eligible. This is the meaning of 1+1 strategy. amila20042001: |
1. The BVN of the account number, in which the money will be deducted, is to be used. 2. Everything is done online and no visit is required. RelaxingEnd: |

Provide the source of fund and relationship. 3. Provide birth certificate and marriage certificate if applicable You have really done well and the VO wishes to approve your application but you are the one not providing sufficient proofs and documents. |

No shaking, your account statement as at the time you submitted is all that will be used to assess your eligibility. Banks do not have legitimate authority to release your bank statement to IRCC other than what you have released. They can only ask banks to verify whether or not the documents you have presented is genuine. If you had used MBS, IRCC will only be shown the period you have asked the bank to show. Only on rare occasion will IRCC call you for updated POF or interview. pixzy: |

Bro, if any of your friend had been waiting for PPR for a long time after graduating due to COVID, it is an advantage because that person would have been given a BRIDGING OPEN WORK PERMIT. He would enjoy this open work permit for as long as IRCC keeps delaying him. Even if he had 1 year PGWP, he/she would have been advantaged to work for more than 1 year due to the bridging open work permit. Meanwhile, not all PR programs are tied to job. Most people only know about CEC which requires a year job experience in NOC level A, B or C. There are many PNP waiting to have him. If anyone is in New Brunswick and does a one year course in the select field that's in-demand, such person can qualify for PNP in the last semester of his study, that's five or six months into the program or five to six months before graduating. In as much as you have targeted programs and strategies, you can't fail. There are so many ways one can get PR apart from CEC that doesn't require job offer. One just shouldn't be picky or dull oneself. Osemigho: |
JESUSSON1:This is what I call 1+1 course strategy. |
Getting PR is not always all about getting a job, this is why I asked if you know anything about MPNP, RNIMP and the program that New Brunswick requires you to do and apply for PNP in your final semester which is 6 months before graduation if you are studying in one year course? Are you aware of AINP? People that get problem are the ones who say, "I want to live in Ontario or BC", if you don't care and ready to live in any province or territory to get a PR, I am sure you don't have to tie your PR to jobs. Many PNPs are calling graduates if you care to know. I also weigh in worst case scenario: I asked if you're aware of 1+1 course strategy. Osemigho: |
While I understand your point of view, I want to make it clear that It's not a risk if you have prepared and mapped out your strategies to get PR after 1 year course. If one year course is your only ladder to get to Canada, please don't hesitate to climb it because if you don't have enough funds for 2 year course to convince the visa officer, you may likely not even leave Nigeria. Are you aware you only need to study in New Brunswick for 6 months without a job offer to get eligible for PNP? Are you aware that if you target IT courses, Health courses among others, your chances of getting a white collar job is very high? Android Developers, Mobile Developers, Web Developers, Data Analylist/Scientists, Personal Care Support Workers etc are in high demand. If I could get an interview from Canada just because I learned Android Programming without even working in that line, how much more would it be if I was physically present there! You don't need to work in the profession relating to your course of study. You only need to secure a job in NOCs A, B or C to qualify for CEC. Are you aware of 1+1 course strategy? Are you aware of Manitoba MPNP that requires connection to the province? Are you aware of Saskatchewan Tech and SINP? Your point of high risk is for those who do not have many strategies mapped out before studying. Let us also weigh in the worst case scenario, if I can add Canadian 1 year course to my EE profile or some PNP profiles, I am damn sure I will qualify for PR. RNIMP is also there, just study in either Ontario, Manitoba or BC, RNIMP is looking for you. Apart from these three provinces, many other provinces are looking for graduates for RNIMP. All you need do is to arm yourself to the teeth with good and correct information and don't say "I must live in Ontario or BC" when Saskatchewan, Manitoba, PEI, NFL etc are looking for you.
