RomanceTil 2013 Do Us Part? What Do You Think About This? by ShyOne(op): 2:51pm On Oct 01, 2011
This is interesting and very different - What do you think about this? Temporary marriage for 2 years - at the end of 2 years if you are getting along and still happy the marriage becomes permanent. If at the end of 2 years you are not happy you can go your separate ways and end the marriage without having to undergo a divorce.

I'm not sure how I feel about this - I just wanted to share it with NL and hear what different people feel about it and get your feedback on why it is or isn't a good idea.

--------------------------------------------------------

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexico City lawmakers want to help newlyweds avoid the hassle of divorce by giving them an easy exit strategy: temporary marriage licenses.
Leftists in the city's assembly -- who have already riled conservatives by legalizing gay marriage -- proposed a reform to the civil code this week that would allow couples to decide on the length of their commitment, opting out of a lifetime.

The minimum marriage contract would be for two years and could be renewed if the couple stays happy. The contracts would include provisions on how children and property would be handled if the couple splits.

"The proposal is, when the two-year period is up, if the relationship is not stable or harmonious, the contract simply ends," said Leonel Luna, the Mexico City assemblyman who co-authored the bill.

"You wouldn't have to go through the tortuous process of divorce," said Luna, from the leftist Party of the Democratic Revolution, which has the most seats in the 66-member chamber.

Luna says the proposed law is gaining support and he expects a vote by the end of this year.

Around half of Mexico City marriages end in divorce, usually in the first two years.

@ Mikael

I know - I howled!!!!

What got me was that it just caught me off guard - I thought I was going to be reading a wonderful wedding invitation to trump all invitations in wording and design.

When I read:

"You are regretfully invited"

and

"My Perfect Son"

and the

"The Two Bit Tramp"

and

"Her name escapes me now"

I rolled - I was laughing in shock so hard.

Yes - It was Sweeeetttt!

grin

well it's good to know that they can finally see the images

I just thought it was sooo funny

the invitation was what cracked me up - the wording was so priceless

i just thought it would go over well - sorry I didn't know what I was doing when posting - now I know to save it first before pulling it directly from my email

There are many weddings in the US that family members feel the same way but they just don't say it out loud - I am still laughing at the invitation "choice of words"
PhonesRe: did you ever read that User manual ? by ShyOne(f): 12:04pm On Sep 30, 2011
Sadly many Americans do the same as well from my observation.

Many Americans - especially men - do the same - just start pressing buttons and don't want to take the time to read.

Siena:
Comrade Maclatunji's dead right.

I find the same goes with car Owner's Manuals. I get a heck of a lot of emails from Nigerians, asking me questions about their cars that are so obvious, if the manuals are read. How could any literate person be asking me what the "L" position on their automatic transmission means? Or what the ABS light on their dash means? Worse, what does ABS actually do?

When I tell them to read the manual, a lot just say "if you can't help me, forget it, the manual is too stressful." Some will get abusive and defensive, some will say they chucked the manual in the trash, when they were removing the protective plastic covers on the seats / floor. That is shameful. I wouldn't call it arrogance, I would say it's more down to laziness. A lot of Nigerians only read, when there's no other choice, like for an exam / test. Anything longer that 4 lines gets a response "dis one na essay, e too long, I no finish am." One only has to read responses to threads on Nairaland, even if it's broken down into clear, concise paragraphs, they give up a quarter of the way through.

We need to imbibe the culture of reading, and not waiting to be spoon fed. The refusal to carry out research (which involves reading) is one of the reasons Nigerians get ripped off, by middlemen "selling" them information which is freely available at the click of a mouse. A quick sift through the Travel section will reveal this, whereby Nigerians are duped almost daily by visa "agents", because they refuse to read. Same goes for those posting requests for "flights to the US at a good price." They fully expect someone else to Google, and supply them the info, because they're too lazy to do things themselves.
I am finding this to be true as well.

Maybe she was trying to do the "chicken dance"

You selfish man

You can join her in the bed

You can join her during sex

But now you can't join her during her late night dance session

Neither are you trying to join her hand in marriage.

smh

She should curse your rotten backside till she loses her breath.

ok - I just had to rejoin facebook

I just sent a request

please list me as an end user - because of time commitment issues - I also fear that I might not have a high-end knowledge base that a majority of other designers and programmers possess.

but I do have a very detail oriented eye and my expertise in detail can serve well in this venture

i also am very influential in circles that could be of use to the group.  I will help however you need and can use me.

I know how to be a good indian - and can follow the chiefs

thanks

RomanceRe: Girl Friend Calls Wrong Person Darling by ShyOne(f): 10:32pm On Sep 28, 2011
She is cheating - Darling?

I call my guy baby and babe. That is what I call him - I NEVER USE THAT TERM WITH ANYONE - EVER. And I never will and if I do - it is because we are personally involved.

Darling? Who talks like that?

The model "Iman" called everyone "Dahhhhhling" for effect.

That is not what it sounds like from the "poster's description"

And then for there to be silence - makes it certain to me that the woman, "figured out she had made a mistake" - she then couldn't "own her mistake" and she quickly got off the phone and did not call back "probably from embarrassment and fear"

If she wasn't cheating or creeping - she would have immediately on the phone laughed and corrected herself by explaining her usage of that word to her guy. But her actions of hanging up and not calling - are clear signs that "she ain't right"
Yeah thanks! It's emotionally confusing at first, when you just received the call from her! Undeniably, the default response would be go, go, go! But then on second thoughts, how long would it actually and realistically take you to get to her location? Maybe the OP forgot, but this NIGERIA! A country notorious for Bad Roads and Traffic Deadlocks grin. . . . . What if? How long would it take for me to get there? Best i can do is ensure she is safe, by helping her keep herself safe, and then driving to meet her where she is; cos definitely, she MUST be in a state of emotional quagmire, shaken beyond relief & belief at the thoughts of bullets flying over her head and all that discombobulating stuff! By the time i get there finally, i'll be more composed to handle the situation and then comfort her accordingly! cool
Your woman is very lucky to have you.
