Wouldn't it be great to actually meet at a group bash in Lagos?  Wouldn't that be great?  I hear that at Christmas many, many people come to Lagos - family, friends, love ones.  Have the moderators ever given a big bash downtown Lagos for the NL Romance Section?  I really want to see what you guys look like in person - your mannerisms.  I want to see if your faces match your wits.  Wouldn't that be really, really fun and something to look forward to at the end of the year?  We could have a pay at the door type of event in Lagos for this section of NL.

I really am interested in seeing what you guys look like and partying with you.  I love watching people in action - laughing, talking, mingling and even the wall huggers are something to see.

What do you think?  Maybe Us NL's should plan our own party - we are intelligent and talk bold - who is up for it?  I would be supportive of such an event.  I don't know the area, but there has to be enough Lagosians that do.

That's very, very kind and sweet of you.  For accountability sake as donations will be what will fuel this event (donations of everybody's time and money) - prior to accepting donations, we will have to open a bank account (if it isn't done right - I don't involve myself) to track $ and expenditures

we should collect enough $ to fuel the event, reserve the space for the following year and retain a small amount to keep the account open and any monies collected that exceed the costs of the above - the balance should be given to assist the poor of the city that hosts that gathering that year. (Lagos, Abuja, etc)

Since NL is a Nigerian specific website - I feel that the event should remain in Nigeria - just be hosted in different areas of Nigeria to assist Nigerians.

OK - on a serious NOTE

Let's get a committee together - first things first

Not too large, not too small

mixed ages

mixed gender

A 10 person panel sounds good for something of this size -  our first gathering should be the month of December because more people will be in Lagos at that time (assumably)

Then we will put together an agenda:
city location
event duration (1 day or multiple events over a weekend)
interview talent for the talent contest
contact performers (bands, soloists, actors, etc)
additional ideas

It can really be quite fun

We can have a different theme every single year

You can make enough money on admission every year to reserve the banquet hall/dance hall/ballroom - whatever location for the following year

You can advertise on NL for bands, entertainment slots, you can get companies that want to advertise your products to actually pay for that advertisement - their monies can provide enough revenue to throw a grand gala at Christmas

In the Summer Month as Well - Or we can do a more casual gathering in Summer with everyone bringing a food item and have an outdoor event with live music, etc.

2 Events a Year - One that could be dressy and the other dress down

In all honesty - Anyone Who Is Anybody Would Want to Be A Part of It - It can be as fun and glamorous as we make it and as dressed down and as Casual as We Make It

We Can Have A Talent Show and Give Away A prize for the Best Vocals, Poem, Jokes (Categories)

IT Can Be An All Day Event As Well with Booths (health, Cosmetics, Graphics, Advanced Technology, Etc.) - Vendors Could be Sony, Etc.

Different Restaurants Could Have Booths as Well - NL is quite a large Community

We Can Have Some Real Fun With This,
