Well only in the past few days did I find out that my guy makes more money than I do. I was really relieved and happy - because usually I am the top bread winner and it really, really feels good to know that he makes more money. yayyyyyy!! I make good money but he makes more money. I want him to always be the Alpha male in our relationship in word, action and deeds. He is a great guy and very loving. It was still a relief to know that he makes more. |
2buff:ohhh that is what ping means ummm - ok well I need to run out for a bit and will be back and will ping you either tonight or tomorrow - is that ok? and when are u available this evening or tomorrow? We are different time frames so if you give me a time specify if it is my time or your time. |
2buff:What does "ping me" mean? |
Dayo: Thank you - that was VERY VERY good to know especially the ro-ro we looked into ro-ro out of NJ and Florida The rates are comparable to Galveston U have been a wealth of information |
@ munyasia I completely agree with you. |
layi:I'm sorry but in the U.S. - NONE OF THE ABOVE APPLIES 1) Men rule the U.S. - so usually a man will get the job before a woman - pretty or ugly 2) Men 40 and under don't open the door, walk on the left side of the road or pull out the chair of the woman and if you see them do it - everyone turns in awe because that is a common practice with the older generation, not the younger 3) It's uncommon for a woman to stay home and not work - the normal practice is to see both men and women - everyone in the house working together to pay the bills - black, white, green, yellow 4) Sex - in the U.S. - if you are a woman and you are just laying and enjoying the sex - the man will eventually replace you with a woman that will perform - YOU CAN BELIEVE THAT 5) 10-20% OF THE POPULATION IS RICH - the rest are poor and middle class and lower middle class and upper middle class - there are very few rich men left to marry. |
I am not allowed a NL husband. |
2buff:I am very impressed - I would like to hear more about this please. |
Also - I have connected my business here in the U.S. with my fiancee's business in Lagos - we are now connected and will have websites up and running as well. He does similar area work - he is in graphics, training, leadership, audio/video presentation - I am word processsing, software training, teaching, leadership, edt/proof, agent representation, audio/video representation - and other areas that generate, work with these items. My business pulls U.S. Clients to Him and His Pulls Nigerian Clients to me - circular - and so far it has been "off the charts" good. |
Dayo: The resale of Cars was "no older than 10 years" when did it become "no older than 15 years"? Please advise. |
OK Guys: Hybrid Organizations is a specialty of mine as well. You can open a nonprofit that is the umbrella organization for "for profit businesses" - you can get grants to assist in funding - U catch my drift? |

oopss I'm sorry. |
I wouldn't share anything - about an argument with my family members - I don't need them in my business. I think alot differently then they do and than a whole lot of other people. I am very protective of my mate and once the argument or disagreement is over - I would have only myself to blame if they hold a grudge against him or put him down in their thought or treat him differently - since I shouldn't have opened my mouth in the first place. he and I spoke on this already - what is between he and I - is between he and I. even NL - I share very little about him other than my loving feelings for him. Our conversations are between us and once married it will be even more so. |
I have a partner My fiancee and I started doing business together shortly after we started dating - actually we started doing both - it was great and it still is great!!! He has land in Lagos and it is in a commercial area. He has family in Lagos that can be trusted and that he is currently partnering with and has been partnering with for the past few years. So I do agree with you, you have to have someone you can trust. |
aminalib:good grief!!! |
@ 200Elated Coin is the only way I would go. It pays for itself and doesn't require alot of staff. @ Chima and Amina Tourist housing - temporary - is a fantastic opportunity especially in Lagos - as there aren't many and there is a need Do they have "Bed and Breakfast Housing"? Even my stay - trying to find affordable lodging is ridiculous. |
dayokanu:I definitely agree - also there is licensing needed as an agent in Lagos - I believe - but it is doable. Import/Export to Lagos from the U.S. is ridiculous - the current providers even the Nigerian ones seem to overcharge and/or not be really clear with clients which leads to some fatal business mistakes especially with the U.S. government - clarity, consistency and being forthright are critical. Amina: Does Lagos have a roller skating rink? That would be a hit - but maybe the already have one. I was thinking of opening a internet cafe here in my area of the U.S. as they don't have one. I also do legal training as well and software training - I have a large portfolio of services that I provide. |
Dayo and 200elated: Childcare and Eldercare require certifications - childcare at home requires very little certification if you keep it under a certain number of kids More and more people I know are turning their own property into a home for juveniles and/or troubled adults - that does require some type of certification but is also a bit more lax and not as rigid - you receive checks from the state - they are very profitable - but 24 care is needed - but very profitable Shuttle Service {not taxi} is lucrative especially when you cater to the Medicaid/Medicare program - you can make in the thousands per month. Hire Drivers at an hourly rate to shuttle medicaid/medicare recipients back and forth to the doctor and dental office - thousands per month Laundry - excellent {I am looking at adding that to my agenda} - During good and bad times - people need to wash Import/Export Business to Lagos - EXCELLENT - need licensing but it is available and with patience you can acquire - very lucrative Cleaning Service Wordprocessing Service Elder Care - assisting in their homes, shopping, correspondence, Software and Computer Training to retirees House sitting Dog sitting and the list goes on and on |
Amina that is a great idea Chima - I love it - the childcare idea is very good and I know that it is profitable |
you guys STOOOPPPP IT - PLEASE This is giving me a headache - all of this stupid drama and name calling - is upsetting me very badly - we can't even talk and it is this type of poison you are making me very, very upset now STOP IT |
dayokanu:Dayo: I think that is a fantastic idea. The thread. There are SOO MANY BUSINESSES that can jump off here - EVEN MORE SO NOW - with the market as it is. |
aminalib:You will need money - but not necessarily in the beginning. Because you can start small with NO MONEY and work your way up. You can actually build your clientele and offer a product that requires no money. If you started a cleaning service - you can use the items in your own home and replenish your stock with monies you receive from clients. There are many, many ideas that you can utilize to get started. Being humble and creative are free. Thank you for sharing - a nursing agency is VERY PROFITABLE and requires not a lot of capital - you can actually cut a lot of corners to get started even in that arena. |
Yes it works - I ADORE HIM!!! He's in Lagos He's the bees knees, the cat's meow and the dog's bow wow!! Gosh, I love that man. |
quote by aminalib when does it not take money to open your own businessHello A: When you have an idea - it doesn't take money to open your own business. For instance, the market is 'RIPE' - BIG TIME for businesses - especially small businesses. The U.S. - almost half [I don't have statistics - I am just extremely good and very accurate at reading the times and acting on them] of its citizens will be retiring soon because the largest population in the U.S. are the "baby boomers" - ages 80-50 - ok? It is a MAJOR EPIDEMIC - so "services for the elderly" - should crop up. I am actually working with some other women/men - providing them with guidance on opening their own business. So anyone can start their own business - with very little money - you can actually use items in your own home to get started offering services to people in your neigborhood - your own backyard so to speak. I command respect - this is what Professors at the University levels have told me - even guest speakers and I guess I do because my first clients were my neighbors - asking for my pen, my prose, my advice, my review to the point that I started charging monies and then I was off and running in my own business. |
quote by Mrs. Chima Shyone,Hi there Mrs. C: Nooo babygirl I really don't think that is what is going on with the writer in this case. How are you? I am going to answer you in another thread - you gave me some ideas on African food items - I just have been so busy with work and clients I haven't been able to get back at you yet. |
quote by 200elated not having a job doesn't imply been broke, i just can't accomodate any form of liability since that is an expected responsibilty but not asking to be catered forI do agree with you here. My heart breaks for you regarding whatever AA you chose that didn't treat you well. Realize that all AA's aren't like that - you must have chosen wrong. I hate when I heard about other AA being unethical because it gives the group as a whole a bad reputation especially if your contact with AA overall is limited then you think they all operate on that level. I do agree with your post above. I feel the same way. Ask God - he will send you who you need and what you need. I am genuinely sincere and very serious when I say that to you. |
200elated:Keep being honest. There's nothing wrong with telling the truth - it's no secret - millions have lost their jobs in the U.S. and worldwide I appreciate who you are - when you are struggling, why would you want someone who has less than you? That's not a gold digger. I lost my job in 2008 - I didn't want a broke person either. I can totally feel you. When men approached me I said the same thing and I'm not a gold digger, either. If they are financially struggling what can we offer each other in the relationship? This isn't 1960 - this is 2011 - IT TAKES 2 INCOMES to make it. My advice to you is to start your own business - you cannot afford for someone to give you a job. You don't need much $$ to get started either - just a good idea and those are easy to come by. |
